4401  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and other currencies on: November 24, 2017, 01:32:47 PM
Hey all,

I’m conducting a research on cryptocurrencies and I’m especially interested in why people choose Bitcoin. And since you are bitcoin users/experts, I thought you would be the best people to ask. It would be great if you could take the time to answer my questions (anonymously), I promise it will take no more than 10 minutes.

Click on the following link to go to the survey - https://uvacommscience.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3lzs2sI13cKH1m5?source=bitcointalk

If you are interested, I could post my main findings here.

Thank you.

I am interested in finding out your main findings as some questions intrigues me as a crypto user. The only thing that I want to ask you is that why in all of the coins out there why ethereum? Why compare bitcoin to ethereum? Is it because ethereum is the top 2 next to it? Generally, they are not the same. Bittcoin is a crypto meant for transactions while eth is a crypto meant for running smart contracts. To sum it up, I think you should just replace the comparison from ethereum to one of the alts.
I agree, its a strange comparison. Both cryptos can exist and cooperate. Personally, I think that Ethereum has more bright future than Bitcoin. Eth can be easily used in different industries due to smart-contract technology. The most popularity it will gain in investment service. Once you sign a contract, nobody can change or stole it.

I equally think ethruem would be valued like bitcoin if not more because it is also a means of payment and more so, so many ico coins identify with etheruem as a means of transacting with them directly to their sites- this is an edge in my view.
4402  Economy / Economics / Re: "Bubbles" Made Bitcoin Stronger on: November 24, 2017, 09:22:11 AM
This is in the light of its high volatility, instability and quick money making. The bubble in bitcoin gives it its hype and this is why people tend to invest on it and hold because they are almost certain it will increase in value with time in the future.
4403  Economy / Economics / Re: Some advices and references for a newbie? on: November 23, 2017, 10:00:06 PM
I would just take two key words from op's idea - principles of "economics and trading". Thus, I would just go down to it. Economics is about management or managing your finances and trading is about how to multiply your capital.

So, they are interwoven. You don't talk about one and leave the other out. In other words, whatever book or article you are going to study or internet that you would visit, do not forget the economics of your business.
4404  Economy / Economics / Re: good effect and bad effects of robots in replacing human Jobs on: November 23, 2017, 06:55:33 PM
The good and bad effects of robots in replacing human jobs are that robots get work done faster ,easier, cheaper and are mass producing in nature; in other words, saves cost. Computers and machines etc are also robots.

On the contrary, robots  have been known to be one factor that humans no longer find jobs to do first of all. Also, they seem to be straight jacketed to the extent that they can't re-order them selves when the command they were given seem unfavourable like in trading, also in machines like photocopier. Some robots seem to be detrimental and hazardous to human health when in use.
4405  Economy / Economics / Re: Next generation money on: November 23, 2017, 11:26:43 AM
The total majority of Bitcoin holders think of their favorite toy as the next step in the evolution of money (less so for active users). I don't deny the technological innovation in respect to the blockchain and the decentralized nature of how new money is created through mining. With that said, I still don't think that Bitcoin did actually revolutionize the concept of money itself. Gold as money existed long before fiat, and it was "created" in a decentralized way too, so nothing particularly new here as well...

I have an idea what could be an entirely new form of money (actually, it is not my idea), but first I would like to hear from you, guys (and gals), what you think about the truly new money that is yet to be invented or implemented

My thinking is that, was Gold like bitcoin? Or can they be quantified?

Gold is handled, touched , seen and felt. Again ,Gold is not used as money but a show of affluence.

Bitcoin is specifically made to be used as money and its technological is of blockchain, totally different from Gold.
4406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you ❤️ crypto??? on: November 22, 2017, 07:37:35 PM
I crypto because of the benefits in it. It obviously creates wealth and sets one out from financial bondage. It is easier in transfer and it is peer to peer making transactions undisclosable to the public.

Very important also, is its value. The value is high & it cummulates into big cash. Take for instance, bitcoin with its price of $8,200 plus is not small money when converted to local fiat.
4407  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Suggestions for trading on: November 22, 2017, 06:07:09 PM
Well, any time and any day , people would like to trade on bitcoin because it is the leading coin, thats there reason but I see etheruem as a profitable coin as well and obviously doing well at the moment.
4408  Economy / Economics / Re: will next decade be the bitcoin era ?? on: November 22, 2017, 05:43:23 PM
As by seeing the usage graph and profiting graph i can easily assume that in next decade of 2020 people will mainly relay on bitcoin and the main thing to survive in the next era will be bitcoin and it will be frequently used by everyone and that will help many regions to boost their economy as well so hope for the best, many people are eagerly waiting for the btc system to be implemented.

Rather I think in 2020, the crypto world would have been well developed and recognize which will not only give bitcoin its prominence but giving other altcoin the opportunity to be heard and used.

Thus , coin like etheruem would have been a good competitor to bitcoin in usage etc, like for payment and transfer of funds.
4409  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC price prediction till Dec'17 on: November 22, 2017, 04:16:38 PM
Predictions are either here nor there. They are a way of estimation of the future expectation. So, from the look of things, predicting the price of bitcoin for December, I see it hitting $10,000 and this have been the majority prediction for the ending of the year.

Maybe is going to be a sweet December  Grin
4410  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Price Moving Towards $7500, Market needs a crash on: November 22, 2017, 01:42:41 AM
By the time this thread was created it was back at November 3, 2017 the price was $7,500 and after a couple of weeks we had the bitcoin cash drama, civil war against bitcoin. And by looking at the price of bitcoin now, it is at $7,755 looks great to see that after a big dump and crash bitcoin still managed to get back at the peak. And the movement of bitcoin's price will not be stopped and no one can ever try to pull it down.

The price and increase of bitcoin is always a wonder. The price of bitcoin has marveled its speculators, stunning them with an unexpected increase.

We have really witnessed a tremendous increase in the value of bitcoin since this year and we can't now be certain of what it will close with this year since it has gone to all time high of $8,400 plus. And , or whether we are going to have a dive.
4411  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto is an Asset or Currency? on: November 22, 2017, 12:53:30 AM
Every currency is an asset what ever it is,either physical money or virtual like crypto currencies.so storing bitcoin in wallet for payment or asset is no big deal, and who told you that crypto is created just for payment?i think you have just misinterpreted the nature of bitcoin.

I think I understand your own angle with paper money too as an asset but the point is, paper money has no growing value in itself except when it incrues an interest on it added by banks and thats not really the kind of asset that Gold can be nor bitcoin for instance or other altcoins.

Also, paper money can appreciate or add value if there is a change in government policy ,for instance devaluation but bitcoin or altcoin does not appreciate that way ,whether an individual country make a decision against it or not is inconsequential.
4412  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why you should buy Bitcoin now. on: November 21, 2017, 10:13:31 PM
I have been following bitcoin price's actions since August last year and one thing that is common is that price pattern do repeat itself. Event that happens in July to August this year is about to repeat itself again. I have been going through a lot of speculations threads and many of them are saying that bitcoin is going to clash after splitting but I disagree with that and for your information another pump is about to happen and this is going to push bitcoin price above  $8,000. I have also see that this may happen before end of this year.
all people have own opinion what happens for the future they are only a prediction no one can say the true about what is the value of bitcoin before the end of this year but then if you always seen the bitcoin price still keep the price value increasing this very surprising to all.
If you want to earn with just holding bitcoin that is why you should buy bitcoin now. If you buy now your bitcoin will have the chance to grow from the moment you buy it upto the future. We all know that yes bitcoin's price is not that stable most of the times. It drops very low and rises up. But it continues to rise it's value. Yes it still has risks so you need to be careful.

In as much as it rising is higher than its dip but I won't advise someone to buy at this price of $8,300. The price is rather high in my view.

Waiting for a deep is necessary to see how deep it will go before knowing whether it would continue the bullish ride or not
4413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO Is Really A Good Investment or Not? on: November 21, 2017, 09:57:10 PM
Some icos can actually be a shit in the pan ,causing you to lose your money. They make you regret on it and thus, making you see every ico as a failure. Some people think it is once fault not to research on the team but then, some icos are failure in disguise.
4414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Track coins on: November 21, 2017, 05:48:38 PM
Well, I don't know if something like blockfolio is what you are asking of or for. Blockfolio is an app you can download & add your variant coins on and as the coins appreciates or depreciates as the case maybe be, you see the value from your downloaded app of blockfolio.

Also, you also see the aggregate of the value of your coins put together from same blockfolio. Just download it by typing blockfolio on your phone.
4415  Economy / Economics / Re: The value of bitcoin? on: November 21, 2017, 02:33:00 PM
I don't quite believe that all who have bitcoins really trust him. A lot of people just use the situation. They want to earn a lot of money through the use of bitcoins, but at each stage the price drop they panic and sell their bitcoins. These actions only reinforce the effect of the fall.

Mate you are actually correct. Many people just see bitcoin as a means of making big money & don't care how the business goes, those people fall under the "investors without a hoot"- they do panic selling. Thus, the real investors are those who are holding for long & still believing that oneBTC will get to $50,000 in the future.
4416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Successful ICO Experiences on: November 21, 2017, 04:35:47 AM
I have not been successful in the ico stuffs, either some after buying into them, they will have a system collapse due to rush in their system and they might either come back with low esteem and keep swimming in the bottom of the ocean or might not at all.

Meanwhile, I have heard of some success stories especially with those that bought with firstcoin.
4417  Economy / Economics / Re: Are there any registered public co's accepting payment in bitcoins? on: November 20, 2017, 03:21:54 AM
Some of these big companies consider the highly unstable bitcoin price, thats why they tend to slow down on the use of bitcoin as payment nor investing and holding.

Legislation is not far from what would give them the needed confidence. For it is better to deal with bitcoin as an individual rather than a company because of its fluctuation tendencies.
4418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ethereum grow like bitcoin ? on: November 19, 2017, 09:24:35 PM
I doubt that. Ethereum has been hyped for long and the crypto has refused to ride on that hype. I don't see it as the next coin rather I see litecoin on that. Believe me, if litecoin was used as much as ethereum is being used, we would have see the magic with litecoin.

For me, litecoin is more in the "fight".
4419  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin surely boost the regional economy??? on: November 19, 2017, 08:26:38 PM
It is crystal clear that bitcoin has the potential to do this and is already doing it. Bitcoin will not only boost an economy but will make individuals independent of the economy.

For instance, people who are already into bitcoin and making money from bitcoin have no business with the hardship anymore and so, they have extricated themselves from the economy, thereby giving the economy lesser burden to cater for and by that, the economy will keep improving.
