You are confusing life expectancy to health, these numbers would make sense if people were dying only because of their health status which is not the case because you can live a 100 years, half of them with health issues.

The virus does not care about your life expectancy or age, it cares about your current health condition.

It might be hard for someone who has not lived around Chinese people (I did for years) to imagine how freaking healthy they are, old grandmothers there perform a lot of physical work that women in their middle age in the west find hard to do.

In my country, people start to "wear out" at the age of 60-70, my grandmother (mom's side) couldn't even stand up for years before she died, she lived for nearly a 95 years, but in the last  decade or a bit more of her life, her health was condition was terrible, on the other hand, my Chinese landlord was in her late 80s and she could walk all day long, she was even going to school at that age, this is not just a simple example on a very small scale, it's my wide observation based on years, we eat croissant and Nutella for breakfast, they eat rice and drink green tea (without sugar), so one could imagine, I have not looked at the "statistics online" but if you ask anyone who lived long enough in both sides of the world, they will probably tell you the exact same thing.


This does concern me as far as the following difficulty adjustment is concerned, a 15% drop will make a lot of gears profitable again and we might not have another drop for the following 2 weeks, the price also seems to be recovering as we approach the adjustment.

Mining BTC is actually a plus, it generates income, holding gold or even BTC for that matter does not generate a passive income as long as it's the price is going down.

on a side note, silver is valued mainly by production and not due to people investing in it, unlike Gold and BTC people buy them because for speculation even if they don't really use them.

Ok seems like my source got the shipping date off by 1 day, and actual prices now are  $2928 for the pro (off by $28), and the S19 is $2184 (off by $84), or maybe that price is for bulk orders, I know bitmain does that, are you aware of when the prices were listed on the Chinese website? because last I checked there were not there.


I am not sure if that will happen, it's a Chinese culture to give the other Chinese a lead especially when supply is somehow limited, the fact that they started to take orders from Chinese miners/resllers prior to the international website makes me think they don't have enough S19/S19 pros to deliver for the first batch.


This and the fact that you can't even remotely guess the profitability by the end of May, you got the virus and the halving, those two combined make me hesitate about buying any mining gear.

Also, I have always opposed the idea of putting so many eggs in one basket, despite its efficiency I rather have 2-3 S17 pro to 1 S19 pro, if you lose a control board or a PSU, you will have a 110th sitting there for weeks doing nothing if you lose a hash board after running for a month or so, that's a $1000 loss, big rich players might not care about this, but to the average miner like myself, that makes a lot of difference.

I got a sneak peek on the first batch date as well as prices, May 10 to 20  for the first batch, price is $2100 for S19 and 2900 for S19 pro.

I am 99% certian my source is reliable, in fact they are so confident that they started to take pre-orders starting from today.

What do you guys think of these prices given they are post-halving.

I can tell you why, you see a good amount of people (30% if  IIRC) need to be in the ICU (intensive care units) or they will die to the CoronaVirus.

China did a great job in quarantining infected cities, built a hospital with a capacity of about 1000 ICUs, and never stopped provding more, so the case was most of the time as follows:

ICUs+ Doctors+Nurses => Infected with people who need ICU = low death rate.

In Italy on the other side, and because they failed to apply a good quarantine, and because they don't even have 10% of the production capacity China has it was:

ICUs+ Doctors+Nurses < Infected with people who need ICU = high death rate.

And Italy has a better ICU per capita ratio than most other countries, so if the virus spreads as fast as it did in Italy due to lack of quick quarantine in another country, we will sadly see worse death rate than in Italy.

For an example, it says here the U.S has 2.8 bed per 1000 people, assuming they are not rushing to add more now, then many people will die not just due to the virus, but rather the lack of health care and the problem with these ICUs, a patient doesn't stay for a day or two, they might need to stay in for days, so if you have 50 beds in your city, no more than 150 people can get sick per say a week because nearly 3rd of them might need to be in the ICU and that is exactly 50, say 51 people need ICU, and 1 person will be at great risk, that is the exact reason why governments quarantine us, not because they think they can keep us safe from the virus forever, but because we need to slow the rate of infected people so that we can give them the intensive care they need until a vaccine has been found.

So really,  your chances of survival, when hit by the virus (especially if you are old or have some health issues), depend almost ENTIRELY on how many ICUs are available at your city and how many people get sick at the same time as you do.

the above information is not my speculations or own findings, it was explained to me by a doctor or else I would have never thought about it this way, obviously, the governments don't tell us all the details because they don't want to 1-scare us and 2- knowing that all you have in your city is 10 or 20 ICUs makes you think the health care program your government has always promoted is far worse than less developed countries and that will cause problems to the government because the people will protest against them.

Also, the death rate has to do the health of individual and lifestyle, the Chinese have a very good diet, a lot of vegetables, rice and seeds, Italians eat a lot of pasta and pizza, the U.S diet is even worse, basically, all of our diets suck big time compared to the Chinese.

I think that has to do with the fact that S9 SE comes with a firmware that has Asicboost enabled by default, that LPM option does nothing but activates AsicBoost, so maybe that's where the problem comes from. If you find Enhanced Low Power Mode you could try that, but as far as LPM is concerned, you gain nothing from enabling that anyway.

This does not validate the count, looking at it on the monthly chart, the only thing that is not perfect is the length of wave 2 in wave 3, regardless of how you try to count it, as I said it is not a perfect wave but the wave still meets all rules of a correct Eliot wave.

There are no invalidations in Wave 3, I agree that the wave is not perfect, especially the way "they" count (ii) in the said wave but as far as structures are concerned, nothing really invalidates the wave count, if you see any invalidations, please point them out, I am far from an expert with EW.

Speaking of large time frames (weekly and monthly) the only previous similar situation we had with double bottom formation was the 2015 capitulation period, that was not a perfect double-bottom but we had a wick go below the body of the previous candle, which in hour case should have been the $3600 level, but we did dip to as low as $3700 on some exchanges, so you are right, as far as double-bottom this could be it.


I wish I had half the optimism you got because I think we are not even halfway to misery as far as the global economy is cornered, today alone the U.S had over 5000 new Corona cases, the same number in Italy, sadly Italy lost 627 people today to the virus, and if you look at the Coronavirus chart you can easily see an uptrend of nearly 90 degrees, I know for certain that China was the best country to handle the virus, and I can only assume that things will be worse everywhere else, no vaccine seems to be coming next week, our bodies don't seem to be developing any new method to fight the virus, I don't want to spread fear, but things don't look promising at all, sadly.  

As far as TA is concerned, I am keeping a close eye on everything, the monthly candle has a lot to tell as well, I will take any close above 6.4k as a good sign on the monthly timeframe, and weekly close above 200MA is as good, a weekly close above 20MA and I will become bullish, close above 10.5k and a retest, I will be super bullish, but I think all of that is wishful thinking because the most likely scenario, for now IMO is this > 6.1k-6.4k is major resistance and we are unlikely going to break it, we head back to make a lower low below 3.1k, everyone and their grandmother loses hope in bitcoin, range between 2k and 4k for a few months, and then start a new bull cycle.

I will not be trading based on that scenario, that's a very large picture, I am sticking to the short/midterm in my trading, but it's a scenario that worth to be highly considered and prepared for, what we have now is everyone thinking the halving will change everything and take us to new ATH, everyone thinks making money is easy, buy bitcoin before the halving, become rich after the halving, but we know that markets don't work this way, it needs to eliminate those people first and thus, the scenario above is not any less likely to happen than any other scenario.

We are now at 85E diff and 6.2k price, the last time we had this hashrate was 3 months ago, Dec of 2019, the price was 7.2k, the only difference now is that more efficient gears are in the game and prices don't seem to be stable nor going to the upside, so it's very likely that we see more decline in the hashrate, with just 52 days to the halving it's highly unlikely that we go up from here, there may be a few newbies or risk-takers who will join now, but I guess those will hardly maintain the current hashrate, let alone taking it to a higher level.

I think China will play a major rule in the recovery of the market and not the opposite, China has officially defeated the spread of the Coronavirus and they seem to be slowly returning to business, this is what the numbers suggest and my Chinese friends also confirmed it, so China was the first the to get into trouble and the first to come out, I am counting big time on the Chinese to actually lead the recovery, I hope other countries manage to defeat the virus as fast, that will not only save the economy but will save a lot of lives.

Which suggests that he is a scammer, the other two negatives also suggest that he is a scammer, however, none of us here is certain that he actually is, and therefore the negative feedbacks should be "ignored temporarily", but I failed to make that clear enough in my feedback, and thus I have changed it.

This way if there is someone willing to donate to help save a life, at least they know that the negative feedbacks are rather precautions and that they should not negate the idea of donating altogether yet.

How is that an S9k issue? this is more like every fan on planet earth's issue, running for months with probably little no cleaning is enough to toast any fan, it really has nothing to do with the S9k model itself, S9k is indeed the worst miner as far as the control board and hashboards are concerned, but it's a matter of luck when dealing with fans, I have some fans that spin for nearly two years at 90% without a problem, some die in a few months, you just got to blame your luck and move on, there isn't really any way around to fix those fans given their cheap prices.

OP, get yourself a new fan/s as Phill said, and I would advise you to actually get an extra one because pretty soon the other one might stop working too, a spare fan and a spare PSU are really important, this is why owning a single miner is probably a bad idea, because buying a spare fan, PSU and a control board for a single miner is not the best thing to do, but if you have a few of them and keeping a single piece of spare of everything makes a lot of sense.

On a side note, I am not sure if this just by chance, but I noticed that setting a fixed fan speed on those fans even at high RPMs of 90%, the fans tend to last longer than those set to auto-mode, maybe the continuous change of the motor speed kills it faster, or maybe that was just my luck.
