4401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 10, 2023, 10:36:59 AM
Newcastle united are doing very well this year. There's a 10-point gap with Arsenal. This should not be seen as a gap that cannot be closed. They are one of the teams with the fewest defeats and the most draws in the league. This means that no one can easily beat newcastle united. As such, they are a tough opponent both home and away. This week's opponent is not a very tough opponent, but it could be a problem. They have to win now to avoid relegation.

It has been an impressive season for Newcastle United, with Eddie Howe doing a massive job at the magpies and doing everything right to drag nufc into the champions league places in the coming season. With good amount of money spent; Newcastle United supporters are living the dream. Would they get top 4 come the end of the season? time would tell
As for your question, the only sure owner of its present spot on the EPL table this season is Arsenal, nothing can stop them from listing their trophy judging by their feat and points already gotten. But from the 2nd to 5th positions, it could still be well contested, which is why I believe that Newcastle still has great chances. The club has done so well this season, and at this moment, I don't have my favourite team to take the 2nd and 3rd positions among Man City, Man U, Newcastle and even Tottenham.

All of them are impressive and any of the ones ahead that make a single mistake now would pay dearly for it, while the unsuspecting one rises higher.
4402  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin go back to 19000 on: February 10, 2023, 09:54:45 AM
The $19k is not a far price from the current price ($21,843), so it could be hit within days if the market persists with its current downside correction. I view the recent bearish movements as a correction because it will take the market to slip below $15,500 before I would be serious about a bearish trend in its long-term disposition.

For now, I will be cautious on the bullish side, and the possibility of hitting $19k is getting higher as it has breached below one of my important daily supports at $22,543.56, which is an immediate but still a minor threat to the long-term bullish trend.
4403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What most gamblers do. on: February 10, 2023, 09:42:45 AM
Gambling should not be engaged if one does not have self-control or know the rudiment of gambling and how to engage it with caution and careful plans. Gambling can ruin someone's life if care is not taken, but it's fun too and could even make one earn money consistently if approached well.

Those gamblers you referred to do not know this, and it's always late for them to realize that gambling will not make them rich. It could make a negligible fraction of people rich when luck shines on them. So, those that want to gamble should plan their life according to their income, so that they will know the amount for living, savings and gambling in order to make a balance in their lifestyle.
4404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin trans-generational assets? on: February 10, 2023, 09:23:38 AM
The future of Bitcoin is bright in the next decade, but the world government might still be a threat in the long run. The coin has done well for itself in years and would see more adoptions afterwards. But there would always be an alternative that would want to displace it over time which would be the ulterior plan of the government to tap into the blockchain technology but in a more centralized manner, thereby waging war on the exiting ones later.

Aside from this, I see no threat to the future of Bitcoin in both the near and far terms.
4405  Economy / Economics / Re: De-dollarisation USD from oil to btc crypto Biden plan might be on: February 09, 2023, 12:51:01 PM
What you wrote is baseless, sorry to say, there is no way crypto will ever replace oil or the USD, they are different things serving good purposes for humanity. Crypto can't function without fiat, we should not decide ourselves, and no responsible government will solely accept it judging by its rapid price fluctuation, and the USD will always be the most reliable fiat being at the forefront of its dispensation.

This did not just happen, the USD has proven itself over several decades, and a crude oil swap with it will always be the most sort for, with no foreseeable alternative in sight for now.
4406  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Localbitcoins closing down on: February 09, 2023, 12:12:00 PM
Are you asking if this is true again? But you posted it from the message sent to you via the member area on their website. I'm afraid, such should be more than true, it should be real. I was suspecting the stress of the company since last year, it seems that their services are not widely spread as many might think.

Exchanges and exchangers are their archrivals, and unfortunately for them, internet schemes are not like those of old that comply with what "LocalBitcoins" would dominate. The exchanges and direct exchangers provide their servers directly to people, so, a company with a direct P2P model may not be needed like before.

But on login in myself, I could see that they are still active, maybe you have mistaken their renewal for closing down, perhaps they changed their mind.

4407  Other / Meta / Re: Does Bitcointalk talk about other investment platform aside Bitcoin on: February 09, 2023, 08:15:43 AM
Can someone start an investment outside crypto(Bitcoin) and come to this forum for advices, advertisement and contributions?
Please I'm new bie and have been willing to ask this question, please I need your contributions,
Bitcointalk is mainly for Bitcoin and crypto-related discussion, yet you can still discuss and ask questions about fiat and businesses, but this must be done technically. I've read some advice given by members, but might not be exactly what you or the forum wants. Just be technical in asking it wherever you wish to, it should not be obvious.

And on a closer look at what you really want (advice, advertisement and contributions) on what is not crypto-related, no place will fit it best than Services: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0 if you have all it takes. Economics: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=7.0 might be good too, but be more technical about this.
4408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: February 09, 2023, 07:55:00 AM
At least that's what Juventus should be doing for the rest of the season. They have to make the most of every match to get points so they have chance to qualify for the Europa League, of course it's difficult but they have to try to do it because there are 51 points up for grabs for the rest of the season for Juventus.

I believe that Juventus will eventually fail to qualify for the Champions League because it is very difficult to expect the current top 4 teams to not be able to maintain their position. The best hope is Europa League or European Conference League Qualification, but of course the current 12 point gap is worrying.
Juventus this season have been unable to do anything even though they have won every game in points, they are still very far behind. to win first place or return to the top five requires a very extra struggle. Maybe this will be an important lesson for Juventus and prepare for a better strategy in next season's league matches.

The probability of being first is almost zero now, and they will have to work hard for the top 5.  Juventus are going through a tough time, they also suffered extra losses after a 15 point wipeout penalty.  However, they do not have the luxury of losing points.  Juventus is required to fight with all his being in the games ahead and to close the difference in points.
Almost zero? The chance of Juventus being in the first spot is 'certainly' zero this season, and I don't think they can make the first 5 spots anymore because there are fierce contenders from the 6th position upwards. Juventus brought this upon themselves, 15 points is huge and it's rare, meaning that the punishment was caused by daring, and I fully agree with it.

They knowingly flout the rules and no matter how they try this season, they will be within the 6-9 spot in the end.
4409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Features in Crypto Casinos for the Elderly on: February 09, 2023, 07:32:37 AM
The elderly have passed through the early stage, so I believe that if not for medical issues, they should be able to follow the simple guidelines provided to them either with or without videos. It's your responsibility at that time to guide your uncle on this, you would have started from Bitcoin and other cryptos, how they come into play, used for payments and as an alternative that could be used for payments in casinos almost exactly as fiats could be used.

From there, you guys could have moved to the chosen casino site, and with a simple tutorial from you, he would have gotten it since he is not new to the game. However, if he must watch videos, youtube and other sites are there for short and extensive teaching on how to gamble online.
4410  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Btc get to $12k or $10k on: February 08, 2023, 03:44:14 PM
The beginning of this year has favoured Bitcoin, and I don't expect to see it moving lower in a significant manner for now. Truly, last year was bad for the coin and many predicted more falling, and falling towards $15,500 is something as well, so we should not wish for a further dump which might threaten further selling.

Precisely, inflation is still key this year, but I pray there is no more increase in inflation. It would be catastrophic this year after about 3 months of break from the increased momentum.
4411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do small e-commerce businesses are scared of accepting crypto payments? on: February 08, 2023, 07:59:53 AM
Let me reply like a businessman, especially in a small capacity, it won't be easy to accept crypto payment due to its fluctuation in price. This is business, you will accept payment and pays others too to restock and keep the business running.

What if you accepted crypto payment at a high price, and when the time comes for you to pay others, you are paying them at a reduced price? That's an automatic loss on the part of the businessman. Unless the person knows how to reach the chart very well to know when to collect it at lower prices or at a price that is reasonable enough. Yet, this is not always how business works.

Basically, the nonreliability of crypto prices will always shy direct businesses away from it.
4412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: February 08, 2023, 07:40:51 AM
Would you leave gambling decisions up to artificial intelligence? Do you see any potential drawbacks for outsourcing your bets to a software program?
I can surely leave my sports betting prediction to AI, but not anything about casinos. It's not news that casinos have been programmed in such a way that the house can't lose, so be sure that AI will be useless in beating the house as well. But for a sportsbook, it might do some in-depth research and analysis to know the most favoured team to win, and this should not be a big deal for such intelligence.

Do we need someone to put together a thread of ChatGPT predictions to see how accurate they are?
I'm indifferent about this. You should know people, at this moment, I believe they would be doing the experiment. We might wait some months more, or we can experiment it ourselves, it doesn't matter.
4413  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | VIP | Instant withdrawals! on: February 08, 2023, 07:24:51 AM

Yes, that's right, and almost all bonuses that have betting requirements with a minimum bet, usually the bonuses that are given are also quite large, but not all gamblers or casino users can fulfill these requirements because there are quite a number of small gamblers who may not be able to place bets with the amount that has been set. set to get a bonus.
I have seen some casino setting up huge wagering requirements for players which can be problem for small gambler but in duelbits past giveaways there was 1x wagering requirements which was easily claimed by small gambler like us.But if there are say more requirements then small gambler don't participate in them.
Sure, the terms and conditions of Duelbits are not burdensome, and this is how you know the company that has the mind of the poor and rich at heart. When wagering conditions are much, it scares people away and the less privileged will not be that patient with the burden. This is why managerial reasoning is good in every business, and it's nice that Duelbits has capable hands and minds that could think in that direction for the benefit of both the company and their customers.
4414  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds! on: February 08, 2023, 07:06:13 AM

1 million is so much money actually mate, and that is something that only few can make in their entire life.

Some people won't make it at all in their entire lifetime.

Crazy, huh?  Shocked

It seems that a gambler has loss this massive amount (1.4 million USD) playing a bet with an odds lower than 1.01! (exactly 1.008)

Try the same with horse racing, going against horses that can trade 1000 to 1 in the exchange (which is 1.001, less than 1.008) - you would find "losers" there as well, it could happen also in other type of sports and more. Unpredictable events are random - that's how gambling works, based on this randomality ... if you have an edge you can surely exploit it for much more than 1.008 - low odds are never a way to make money unless you created a secret formula somehow.
There is no justification that could make me go for an odd of 1.0008 with $1.4M, this is senseless to me, so unprofessional and nonmanagerial. Maybe the guy is under the influence of alcohol, which is one of what they use in physical casinos to make you act the way you can't naturally act. The surest game could end up in bitterness for people regardless of class, so it's not new.

Sportsbooks are even the best place to gain more often than casinos and using your head well when you have big money is the key. In this way, you will continue to make your cool money forever.
4415  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: ChatGPT and Trading on: February 07, 2023, 01:14:22 PM
Has anyone used ChatGPT for trading?
ChatGPT is now the talk around now, a very good AI that will help further with users of all kinds, but it's not built for trading if you must know. It can provide you with all you need about trading information for knowledge, but trading advice might be difficult to pass since it can't function better than other indicators and robots/bots in the industry.

Who knows, alterations might happen in the near future, but it can't still do more than to interpret what's on the chart, and perhaps in relation to the fundamental analysis as well. But I doubt if it will ever be worth it.

Human trading is the best I've ever seen!

4416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: February 07, 2023, 09:44:19 AM
I realized how weak Real Madrid is without Benzema after watching Madrid's performance against Mallorca. Real Madrid's overall performance was not bad. While the midfielders and defenders were able to perform their duties properly, the performance of their forward players was very poor. They also missed easy-scoring opportunities. And so they need an experienced player like Benzema. If Benzema misses a few more matches this season, Madrid will miss out on both the La Liga and Champions League titles. Madrid needs Benzema now. If not, they will fall behind.
Try to stay calm, we are still here and fighting to get better. I don't expect Real Madrid to fail to win any titles this season, this means we still have the chance to win La Liga, the Copa Del Rey and the Champions League. All titles are still available, even though in La Liga Barcelona are already 8 points ahead of us. I wish Ancelotti all the success in our next match against Elche and Osasuna, and get ready to face Liverpool in the Champions League on February 22.

But in 2 days, we have a Club World Cup semi-final against Al Ahly, but I'm sure it's not a very important game for us to win.

Real Madrid is currently underperforming and if they continue with this trend they might end up not winning any trophies. It is important to note that Barcelona is not the only good team in La Liga. You didn't watch the match and saw how Mallorca rattle them. Vinícius Júnior always had two Mallorca players such as Pablo Maffeo and Antonio Raillo on him. It was massive defense and a massive attack from the start to the end by Javier Aguirre's side. La Liga has other nineteen unpredictable teams that are competing for these three trophies. So there are all possibilities that Real Madrid can go trophyless this season. The team's attack needs more sharpness and power.
Being in second place is still something for Real Madrid in the league, it's not all the time that luck shines. But it's obvious that Barcelona is the owner of the trophy this season, they have strongly improved and created more gaps now. Barcelona has been more impressive, and their last 5 matches were all cleared, unlike Real Madrid which lost 2 and drew 1. More effort is needed by them so that their second place will not be displaced by Rela Sociedad that only lost one match in their last 5 matches.
4417  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Our hospitas dy do our sick piple well or not? Wetin be your take? on: February 07, 2023, 08:13:40 AM
Judging by the situation we found ourselves in Nigeria, I will like to limit my reply to the professionalism of doctors and other healthcare practitioners in the country and shy away from the availability of resources needed to dispense their services because it's not their fault.

I'm particular about the experts in the field because their actions say many of them are just there for the money and job security, not for professionalism and care for life. I say this based on experience, there is too much lackadaisical attitude of our doctors especially, yet a few are passionate about the job and will do anything to save lives.

A lot of lives are being lost daily due to the negligence of doctors, and many view life as worthless to them. But you will see them protesting only on little matters since they have lost the core value of the profession.
4418  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance suspends withdrawl on: February 07, 2023, 07:42:24 AM
Binance Will Temporarily Suspend US Dollar Bank Transfers starting from Wednesday

Though its no something major in terms of revenue and userbase of Binance USA clients as said by them ,

Is this something indicative according to you...

Does it has to do with SEC being investigating all the Binance activities in regards to involved in some kind of illicit activities..

Share your opinion..
I simply believe this has nothing to do with any prob with Binance by any US agents if one exists. And as for SEC, they are saddled with the responsibility of protecting investors, but the stoppage of US bank wire transfers does not stop other wire transfers in alternative currencies. And the USD wire amount to only 0.01% binance flows, so it's nothing, especially when there are other USD transactions through other channels. It's just the USD wire transfer that would be affected in this light, all would have been affected if any probe applies in that regard.

Still, there are some other Federal prosecutors after some American hedge fund's dealings with Binance. This might have some undertone but still not a strong reason to temporarily stop only wire transfers in USD.
4419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 07, 2023, 07:28:19 AM
Sadio Mane was not a regular scorer. But he would help stabilize the team. Sadio Mane helps strengthen the bond between the midfield and forward players. Hence Sadio Mane's sudden departure from the team, adversely affected Liverpool's performance. The coach should have found a suitable replacement for Mane and then sold Mane. But the coach didn't do it. Second, Liverpool signed Nunez as a replacement for Sadio Mane. Nunez and Sadio Mane play completely different styles. Liverpool's poor performance is due to a few small mistakes.
When Liverpool allowed Mané to depart the team, they made serious errors. The board would simply have boosted his pay and presented him with a significant contract offer, which he would not reject. Sadio Mané has long provided good service to the squad in all facets, both during league games and the Champions League, where he excelled. He has saved the team from severe defeat several times. These players are uncommon in the elite league, thus when one is identified, it should be retained in a team that is safe and reserved.
Even though there are still many other star players in the Liverpool squad, Mane departure has greatly affected Liverpool appearance. Liverpool have made a big mistake in their transfer policy, the arrival of Nunez at a fantastic price cannot be an ideal replacement for Mane.
Ahead of the match vs Real Madrid starting, Klopp has not found the best strategy to improve Liverpool's performance, now Liverpool is under pressure due to the poor results that continue to be achieved and will find it difficult to face big teams like Real Madrid.
Liverpool has degenerated so much this season, let's hope that they can do something right next season, because, to me, this season is over for them. The setback for them is too much to the point that the names that were been hailed are now been booed so fast. And I warned about that time when Klopp placed too much relevance on Salah over Mane in treating their pay rise demands.

Salah was given the relevance which made Mane opt out of the squad. Many might not think towards that angle, but I did.
4420  Economy / Gambling / Re: Positive Gambling Quotes for 2023! on: February 06, 2023, 02:15:10 PM
If so, maybe this quote can be a reminder for us:

"If you find it hard to leave gambling, maybe you are already experiencing gambling addiction, leave immediately before it's too late."
And it's too late until someone realizes that he or she is already addicted to gambling. Yeah, this is a good quote to remind everyone of us that we have to control ourselves or else, we're too late in realizing that we're no longer the old us.

This website is composed of many gambling quotes and it includes the person who said it, pay a visit if you want.

https://www.therandomvibez.com/gambling-quotes-and-sayings-for-all-gamblers/
Addiction or not, it's good that we are wise and always conscious of what we do, anything we do too much is bad, and we should always do everything in moderation. I usually say that all we need is to be sensitive, I've tasted gambling addiction before, and it doesn't just infest people, it takes time. But the problem is that when many realise it, they don't fight it immediately, they procrastinate until it becomes something else in their brain.

In my case, I was addicted to the lotto in 2013, but immediately after realizing it, I stopped, and believe me, the last time I bet again was two weeks ago. This marks about a decade after saying goodbye to such kind of betting. Who knows, it might be in another decade before I bet another. That's how to fight it. And if it's the ones that worth it, you might just take a month's break, and you will be fine.
