Our health sector nah place wey I been think say go really help sick dying piple for this our contri but when e vex me pass nah when them make me lose person wey I no fit forget even if I dy inside hurri. How doctors go see person wey dy die or wey wan die the first thing to ask nah moni, go to the cashier and pay this sum of amount like say them use moni take create the person, I see no reason why moni go come first before human being life.
And if you pay the moni and them see say them no fit revive (abeg sorry I no know how I take speak that English) I mean if them no fit keep that sick person alive nah to ask you to go do another thing wey concern moni make e be say them collect you finish. When my fada die for one hospita for PH here, them know say no way oxygen just dy do off and on like NEPA light wey no get current but them still collect 20k even send my broda to wear gloves, them make the guy become doctor by force.

Another annoying thing be say the oxygen wey them get no even fit hold person life till the next day, I no understand if nah gas them refill half way. E get some hospita wey you go enter but when you dy come back nah maleria you go carry come back. Who I wan blame for so many lives wey don kick pocket all in the name of feeling less concern by doctors and nurses? Becos I no go say nah government oh becos government no go say as doctor make you first collect moni before you treat person wey him mata serious pass to change old notes or to even get fuel, nah life first and doctors get plenty explanation to give us why them choose moni over life.

Judging by the situation we found ourselves in Nigeria, I will like to limit my reply to the professionalism of doctors and other healthcare practitioners in the country and shy away from the availability of resources needed to dispense their services because it's not their fault.

I'm particular about the experts in the field because their actions say many of them are just there for the money and job security, not for professionalism and care for life. I say this based on experience, there is too much lackadaisical attitude of our doctors especially, yet a few are passionate about the job and will do anything to save lives.

A lot of lives are being lost daily due to the negligence of doctors, and many view life as worthless to them. But you will see them protesting only on little matters since they have lost the core value of the profession.

You are absolutely correct mate. I wonder if these set of medical practitioners do have conscience at all, if truly  they have passion for the job they are doing or they are just there for the money and job security just as OP has said. I wonder if they really do have sober reflection of their ill act everyday after their activities at all. I am beginning to see them as heartless and careless about human life because their approach to victims upon admitting them to their various hospital is something else. You can imagine a doctor telling you to make deposit of money before they touch a patient in the hospital and meanwhile the patient is at the point of death and needs utmost medical attention. People have lost their loved ones  as a result of this nonchalant attitude of medical doctors and it is very bad that  our nation is in such a state where the health sector no longer cares about life and this has made the health workers too not to care about their patient anymore only those who give them extra tip that they show concern. It has gotten so bad now that the health system is deteriorating. No wonder our Political class and the power that be are all flying abroad for their medicals. The worst of it all is that allowance due, salary increment, promotion and recognition due the health workers are not accorded them so hence their actions and inaction's. It is a pity that our health sector has gotten to this point of medical criticality and callousness.

This problems dey happen mostly in government hospitals and not Private hospital, though I been get one doctor friend like that wey dey always help people wey Dem rush come hospital, but wen Dem don receive treatment finish, for Dem to pay for the drugs and injections used on Dem go be problem, say sometimes when Dem  don delay the payment, the hospital dey deduct the money from him(doctor) monthly salary, say now anybody wey Dem carry come, if na him dey on duty say Dem must make deposit before him go start treatments, so I feel say some of this hospitals dey react based on how other patients don treat dem,

But e no mean say Dem no go help people wey dey at the point of death, to me the way Dem for dey do am be say, if Dem bring patient come hospital, and money no dey with the patient or his/her people to pay, make the doctors no worry make Dem treat the patient first, but Make this patient or his/her sign a written agreement or something like under taking say en go surely pay after treatments..

Honestly the Hospitals in Nigeria and even the mode of health care in the country is an embarrassment, it’s fast becoming risky to actually seek medical care for Nigeria.

For here, public hospitals no dey try at all, the doctors and health workers there no even send you if you dey die or not. Last year I was in and out of the hospital, general hospital in Warri omo these people stress me. Sometimes I no dey blame this doctors for the way dem dey do for this country, you see say Nigerians are very dishonest people and dey can take advantage of any situation without considering how e go affect the other person. I dey see situation when people abandoned their family members for hospital and now imagine in a situation when dey never pay doctors, who go come take care of those bills and how the doctors go take feed their family. We no get a better health insurance wey be say the government fit dey pay for every sick person and dey collect the money small small from their salary.

They act fast because they are private clinic and are rendering services for your payment. Unlike the public hospitals where there are no spaces, care and comfort.  As you have said private and as their name implies, they are commercial hospital built for business purposes and profit making so they must be at their very best and professionally engaging their clients and patients on satisfactory service delivery.

Chaii,.. senior, me follow sympathize wit u say this kwekwe health system for we country contribute say ur loved one take go overboard. E no make sentences make person choose money over human life nd health workers for prioritize make dem give the best care to patients.

Who no get money for this life, especially for Africa, and particularly for Nigeria, I believe say bad thing do am. Because to get quality healthcare, dey very expensive anywhere in the world. So i believe say na em make  governments all over the world dey build them own hospitals. I de reason say for developed countries, people fit to go for government hospital and get better healthcare treatment. But for naija, no be so, dem go tell you the medicine wey go buy, so if you no fit to afford to buy am, dem go abandon the patent. If em die, e no concern dem. And the attendants for our government hospitals dey de very rude. Coming to private hospitals, dem no send you, na business dem open, just like other businesses anywhere. So i'm very sorry say you have to pass through what I passed through early 2019 when my mumsy also died in the hands of all this our "I don't care" Port Harcourt doctors, most especially for "B.M.H" wey my mumsy been pass-away after we got transferred from "Save A Life Hospital" when we noticed her health was getting worse and yet hospital bills running into multiple 5 figures.
