4401  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: "crypto day trading strategies ...." on: April 28, 2021, 10:07:22 PM
~
I remember watching tutorials back then in Youtube when I was still into my first days in day trading. I was told to look into some indicators like Bollinger band and I followed what was in the tutorial. Turned out to be loss in the end because the trader in the video bought ADA but ADA that time I bought aren't worth.
It is just up to market's condition sometimes. Indicators are just there to help, but not to make your decisions.
No indicator stands alone in a trade. There's always a kind of combination of them to know where the market is "likely" headed to. The trader who told you about BB must have used it in combination with another indicator(s) but left out mentioning it to you. I use BB also. But it isn't for trade entry or exit. I use it to kind of chain the candles so they look organized within the chart. Even as someone who relies on "leading" indicators of lines like pivots points and trendlines to guage PA, I still look out for support and resistance on combination. So, I believe other traders do the combination too whether they use lagging or leading indicators.
4402  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: African Proverbs in Pidgin on: April 26, 2021, 05:04:13 PM
At least I don grab some proverbs put my head in case if person yarn for proverbs I go grab the meaning asap than looking like ode.
Yes oh, especially wen persin dey go im in-law place to marry. Nothing wey fit disgrace a guyman pass dat proverb thing oh for in-law place. Those old people sabi how to fall young guys hand to show sey dem too sabi something pass people wey go school. But if your head full, dem throw one you throw dem two, dem go chill. I dey tell you!

As the saying goes "person wey the explain proverbs give, the money wey dey take marry he or her mama lost road"
Snip>
Na true you yarn there unto the arrangement thing.

Proverbs
In Pigin: Them say, you no go fit carry your beads go sell for India
In English: Its said that, you can't export your local beads for sales in India
Meaning: You can't hope to sell a thing back to the originators or producers
Another proverb wey resemble dis one for my area na — Dem nor dey carry tombo (palmie/palmwine) go Obowo.

Obowo na famous town for Mbaise, Imo State, wey people sabi sey dem get betta palmwine. So, it's pointless taking palmwine to that place.
4403  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: "crypto day trading strategies ...." on: April 25, 2021, 06:22:41 PM
To be frank, no trading strategy is 100% a winner. There are always days of losing streak for traders. This doesn't mean the strategy is bad whenever that happens. Again, almost anyone can record a winner during a trend movement. It's that simple. But you get to know the real traders when the market is in a range.

As for what to bear in mind, I think every trader should stay away from using lagging indicators of which RSI, MA, Fractals, MACD etc are among. Try relying more on leading indicators like Price Action, Trendlines, Support and Resistance. Every other items to bear in mind on the list you provided are excellent.
4404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The old fiat days are behind us! on: April 25, 2021, 03:57:26 PM
OP shouldn't get carried away in his gladness for the way Bitcoin is turning and begin to think it could completely displace fiat. I don't think this happening with humans on earth, at least not in the next 2 decades if we are still here then. May be with aliens that could be possible with their alleged incredible sophistication but not with us. My reason is based on the fact that most countries don't even have electricity supply and Internet. Knowing that Bitcoin depends on these two, so how is it going to be possible to completely eliminate fiat?
4405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BENEFIT OF BITCOINTALK ORGANISATION IN AFRICA. on: April 25, 2021, 02:53:57 PM
Of a truth, the BTT forum has really helped a lot of people to reestablish themselves online but it isn't only to the benefit of the Africa continent. It's for all, especially those whose countries allow to be online without restrictions. However, one striking thing with it is that Africa is about catching up with the rest of the world as a late bloomer. Again, the continent has keyed into the reality of the "work from home" mentality and is beginning to conquer the wrong perception that anyone engaged in any form of online stuff must be a scammer.
4406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Avoid been carried away, it's never going to be bullish forever on: April 25, 2021, 06:42:19 AM
Take profit! Take profit!! You've been warned, do not end up like many in 2017 bullish cycle, there is always a end to everything and nothing goes up forever, everything happening in this world is merely time based, I'm not saying BTC can't go to 65k or more but this market is getting more dangerous every day, to me crypto market is now in gamble state, don't be a tool to those who are experts in controlling the masses, you think there aren't those pulling the string? Wake up already.. we don't know how longer they will keep pulling the string and roll you over, be smart
How dangerous can this market get when we have institutions coming into it, already? You're just overreacting because of the precedent of 2017. Remember, in 2017 the crypto growth wasn't as expanded as we have it now. Then it was more of individuals buying. Now we have institutions buying in. Quite alright, the corrections will come but I don't believe it will be that heavy as we had it in the past. BTW, we are still in the post Bitcoin halving year and if we should go by your fear of what happened in 2017, then I think we should be looking at December for any Bitcoin descend to begin. In 2017, it happened in December.
4407  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Token on: April 25, 2021, 05:34:34 AM
The forum must create it's native token
Must The use of that verb, makes it look forced and compulsory.

I like the idea of this forum getting its own token like what some fora are doing, even the Satoshi Street Bets (a famous telegram group) is trying to float its own too. It will be a shame for BTT to lag in this aspect being the pioneer cryptocurrency forum.

but should not be listed on any exchange.
What will be the essence then if it is not listed on an exchange? It's meaningless going through that route.

Although the ticker btt is already taken, we can have btf that stands for bitcointalk forum.
What makes you think this ticker won't be taken up since you've made this idea public?

Any crypto project planning to run their airdrop or bounty campaign must buy these tokens first from forum. This will give forum another stream of revenue generation.
This will also prevent scam projects from running bounty and running away without paying.
Nice idea. But this will only work if the proposed BTF token is listed on exchange(s). Otherwise no project will want to pay for a shitcoin.
4408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Alt Coins to buy with 200$ on: April 24, 2021, 11:09:08 PM
Please guys help me suggest coins to buy. I’m a student and I don’t really know much about crypto but I need the money for financial freedom and help my dad cover some of my school costs. Please guys.
With that amount you mentioned you could get yourself loads of tokens if you are going to invest in meme tokens. The meme tokens are the rave of the moment. Perhaps, the new trend as it were. All you have to do is get a Trust wallet or Metamask app and connect to a Dex on the DApp and buy. Safemoon and the rest of the "safes" are turning little investments into huge profits. You may want to try such out but make sure you buy in early to enjoy the ride because the supply is too huge to want to enter late. $10 can get you as much as 1billion of a meme token, depending at the time of entry.
4409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If I die can someone achieve my btc. on: April 24, 2021, 04:24:26 PM
I paid with my btc,the transaction was very easy and faster.
I find this ridiculous to believe because it isn't true. Except OP meant to say the incident they described happened in 2019/2020 during the bear rally because Bitcoin transactions at present are frustrating the hell out of anyone making use of such services. Paying with USDT seems a much better option as delivery speed is fast with cheap transaction fee. Whatever clogs up Bitcoin blockchain and makes transaction too expensive in fee is trying to negate what Bitcoin stands for. This may begin to cause a lot of people to move away from using Bitcoin. Even as I type this, I have a pending Bitcoin transfer which is yet to confirm for 3 days running now.

On the issue of someone getting assess to your Bitcoin after your demise, I think that is something one arranges before one's demise. You can show your wife where you wrote down your vitals (private keys/pass phrases and others) relating to any wallet you own. It's as simple as that.
4410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: April is the real alt season on: April 24, 2021, 10:21:42 AM
Alt season is thriving so much this month. I am missing out for reals.
It's never too late now to key in. We ain't in the real alts season yet. Wait for it when Bitcoin begins to drop in price drastically that's when the real alts gets pumped as investors will be taking out profits and investing in alts of their choice. For me, that time should be when Bitcoin begins to trade around $30,000. We saw a sample scenario in 2017 after Bitcoin hit ATH in December of that year and by January began to plummet and that was when alts started pumping. History has a way of repeating itself and that's what I'm looking out for. Until that begins to happen, let's continue to enjoy the Bitcoin season.
4411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now It's Time For All Weak Hands To Drop Their Bitcoins! on: April 24, 2021, 05:44:16 AM
If there is any set of people who've learnt anything from the 2017 ATH of Bitcoin it should be the weak hands who sold in 2018/19 when Bitcoin went deep down in that crash. So, after seeing how it went from $19,000+ in Dec 2017 and then plunged but later went to over $60,000 in 2021 (still counting) it shouldn't be any panic to see it go through a momentary correction below $50,000 (even it goes to $30,000). The Bitcoin community knows that Bitcoin is a phoenix that will surely come back to break its own record and create a new ATH.

I've experienced dozens of such drops and haven't sold a satoshi since 2013.
Are you for real?

But that isn't the true definition of "hodling" If everyone decides to hodl their Bitcoin without selling, don't you think it won't have any value? Of course, it would be valueless. Nothing places value on something more than demand. If I were you, I would've sold at some point and rebought at a dump. So, you mean even now you aren't taking profit and utilizing the crash to buy back?
4412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Learn to laugh even if Bitcoin is crashing on: April 24, 2021, 04:29:39 AM
Peter Schiff = 1, Anthony Pompliano = 0. Hahaha good joke.
Eventually, the self acclaimed "Chief Economist and Global Strategist" @PeterSchiff, will be the ultimate loser in this war of words.

The crash isn't even deep as what a dip normally does. It's just a minor correction and I'm certain most investors would be expecting it to get down more so they can jump on the chariot. Any sensible person knows that Bitcoin has come to stay and as such any slight correction is an opportunity to get in or accumulate more. Over 600% within a year as ROI isn't an easy feat for any project to achieve. Definitely, Bitcoin will still pick up fresh ATH before the end of 2021.
4413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Forget bounties and Airdrops on: April 23, 2021, 06:07:44 PM
I think in the last couple of months the reputation with bounties has improved. It is noticeable, that bounty section is no longer being "uped" with strange and shady projects, managed by newbie or cooper member. I've also noticed a bunch of new bounties by reputed managers, and more often bounties with limited number of participants appear. All these factors signals that if a person participates in a bounty, he will no longer receive "bread crumbs" only.
This isn't true in the real sense of "truth". There are several littered accusations on thread about bounty hunters not getting paid for jobs done for bounties that got successfully concluded and listed on exchanges. These deceits still persist till this very moment, even as I type this. I stumbled on such a thread today here.

So, it's not true to say convincingly that scam projects don't exist any more. These projects still exist and it's very disheartening honestly that people derive pleasure in not keeping to an agreement earlier reached, especially when it has to do with bounty payments as these fraudulent devs and their teams do.
4414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy or wait on: April 23, 2021, 04:16:02 PM
OP, to be on the safe side, don't wait further in anticipation that price would crash more. Your best strategy should be to buy in bits. You can do a 50% first. If it dips more you do a 20% and wait for another dip to do either 10% or 20%. This current crash may be your best entry level as uncertainty rules this crypto industry. Don't wait unnecessarily. There isn't a perfect entry, except on hindsight. The market has been in a dip since yesterday and it would be in anybody's best interest to buy in now.
4415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Full of get-rich-quick opportunities at Bitcointalk on: April 23, 2021, 02:17:46 PM
Yesterday I saw someone mention #Dogira at Bitcointalk, then I went and bought it and quickly made twice as much money!
I'm sure if you had taken that advice yesterday or today, you would've regretted it because the market has been in red since yesterday, even Bitcoin too. There's blood on the dance floor, literary speaking. However, chances are high making profit on any project during a bull rally and that's where the market is at right now with little corrections here and there. That you got out with a profit from that random call shouldn't mean you would be relaying on calls from random strangers. Please, always do your research before triggering a trade. The fund is yours and you should guard it judiciously.

Thanks to this platform, it's full of get-rich-quick opportunities!!! Grin
Don't develop that mindset for it's a terrible one to believe. It's not true about this industry. Nothing good comes easy. You may have got away nicely with that call as a coincidence but don't think it will always be that way.
4416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on SafeMoon? on: April 23, 2021, 07:52:15 AM
I been seeing all over fb group and the internet. I bought in at bitmart but u cant withdraw without uploading selfies.
Next time, you may want to consider buying tokens like that through a Dex (Deceni Exchange). Safemoon was first listed on Pancakeswap. You could've bought with DApp on Trust wallet. It's the simplest buying experience anyone can have using DApp

I like the news that it will be on two more exchanges tomorrow, and will launch their own exchange soon.
It's currently trading on 4 Cexs (Centralized Exchange) and a Dex at the moment and I think it isn't a fluke to have achieved all that. Anyone can check that up on Coingecko. I also read someone (I can't find the article now) a few days ago that an outfit is going to be using Safemoon as payment option too. With all that in place, it seems the project isn't a bad one after all. Yes, the quadrillion supply can be scary but you never can tell what happens in the future with burning.
4417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Learn to appreciate the DIP. on: April 22, 2021, 09:04:00 PM
To be honest OP, only those who want to get in and buy the favoured token/coin will appreciate the dip. Those at the receiving end won't be pleased there's a dip. Let no one deceive you, the number one interest of any investor in a project is ROI. Why would anyone invest in a project if they knew that the project would dip? I bet, no one will do that no matter how laudable one thinks that project is. The thing is that it's not about fancy talks, nice shirts and ties, it's about ROI for investors. We all love to see green on our monitoring apps, not red. While the dip affords investors an opportunity to get projects at cheap rates we shouldn't also forget that there are projects which experienced dips and couldn't rise afterwards till date.
4418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin creates bond and trust among its users on: April 22, 2021, 06:10:27 PM
it takes trust to send money to someone's wallet and wait to receive the bitcoin in exchange ...what do you think
I think you shouldn't let your guards down and trust every random stranger with your cash. There's a reason escrows are used for online transactions such as cryptocurrency. If you've been indulging blind trust, kindly desist from it so you don't get scammed. There are several safe escrow services offered here in this forum. You may want to try using any of them.

Pointedly, the reason Bitcoin has survived the onslaught of media and government backlash right from its inception till now is the community's ability to stay united and supportive to the course.

Bitcoin has brought a big change in the current world.
Yes, it has generally changed the way the world looks at business transactions because of the blockchain tech which Satoshi blessed the world with.
4419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin last till infinity on: April 22, 2021, 02:40:00 AM
Well, the cowries payment system didn't last forever before it was replaced by a more refined method in Fiat. This is the same way something more refined than cryptos will also kick in years from now to replace Bitcoin at al. In life, nothing lasts forever.

Government policy against cryptocurrency will probably encourage more investors to come to it.
Dissidents will always do anything to go against the government the same way the government takes sadistic pleasure controlling its people. Ban a thing, and that raises curiosity. That's what has given crypto this much popularity.

Most of the current secure cryptos each lack something that a new crypto could seek to resolve in each and in time we'll get to that point.
This is nothing short of the truth. For Bitcoin, the transaction fee and spend have messed the whole essence for which Satoshi created it.
4420  Other / Politics & Society / Re: MILITARY RULE IN NIGERIA on: April 21, 2021, 09:20:47 AM
OP, you make it sound like what Nigeria has now is better than a military regime. If anything, it's worse. The current president, Mohammadu Buhari, was there as a military head of state and doesn't pretend not to still be a dictator even as a civilian president today. If not for the flagrant abuse and disregard for human rights, I think the country was better under a military regime than what Nigeria has at the moment with all these corrupt politicians around.
