4421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the next big thing? on: September 06, 2015, 09:49:12 AM
Bitcoin is the cat with 999 lives.  Wink ... It dies on shill blogs and news websites every day. I would not waste my time on worrying too much about it's replacement for now.

I regret this forum doesnt have a +1 like button, because you deserve one.

Of course there are shills sites and news articles that demonize it, thats how they get attention by saying controversial bullshit.

It's just a moronic journalist marketing tehnique, they dont mean it, but they always say bullshit just to get more audience.

Bitcoins is just now being really born.
4422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is not mainstream yet & my suggestions! on: September 06, 2015, 09:43:09 AM

Seeing as the current financial system is likely headed for a collapse in the coming years you won't have to wait that long. Be careful overselling people on Bitcoin as we are now experiencing the damage false expectations can have in regard to the block size debate and the anger of those who thought Bitcoin was a replacement for VISA.

Undersell, overdeliver.

That is why the adoption phase has to be careful, if we make a bad impression on the mainstream people, then we might lose momentum.

Who know what kind of crap demonizations they figure out next time (i mean the mainstream media) to demonize and halt bitcoins progress.

We need to take a more friendly and factual marketing style. For example the bitcoin v2 youtube video is pretty damn good, but I dont think that will catch most people's interest, who aren't already interested in fintech.

Sorry but we also need to take a populist style, so all promotional videos can reach all kinds interest of people, or make more videos for each people.

EX:

-Women:  Show them the social side of bitcoin, how can you transfer money to your friends, or if they are mothers then they can accept donations for their children. This is a  good marketing side

-Teens: Show them how easy it is to earn money autopilot, or just to some small tasts and earn money. All teens are broke and they need some purse money to go out with the friends, so it is a good approach.

-Wealthy: Show them how secure bitcoin is, and how they can safely store their wealth digitally, and that after 2016 bitcoin will have the lowest inflation rate amogst all currencies

etc... you get the idea. Each group like different sides of the bitcoin, but the differences makes the community nice and diversified.

I think this is the right approach to promote bitcoin
4423  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Teen coaxed friend to commit suicide, then tweeted how much she missed him on: September 06, 2015, 09:31:58 AM
http://q13fox.com/2015/02/27/investigators-say-teen-coaxed-friend-to-commit-suicide-then-tweeted-how-much-she-missed-him/

I am absolutely disgusted by this. This woman believes that men are nothing but disposable tools meant to end their lives in order to provide her with sympathy and attention from her peers. Michelle Carter should kill herself.

"Days prior to Roy’s suicide, Carter was allegedly telling her friends “it’s her fault that Conrad is dead, even though he was still alive and speaking and texting with her regularly,” police said.

South Coast Today reported that on July 11, 2014, Carter texted a friend saying she couldn’t locate Roy and was “a mess,” then an hour later texted Roy and allegedly said, “Let me know when you’re gonna do it.” "

Guys really need to man up and see how women are really are, that girl was just a narcissistic egomaniac with no feelings.

I know some nice girls that are kind and helpful, but there are these sluts who just fuck around and want to steal your money and life power.

Just ignore these vampires, and let them starve without attention, narcissists will starve without attenton, so let them.
i really dont see much hope for improvement on this girl, especially if she is both narcissistic and a sociopath; a narcissist will always be justified in their actions in their own heads, and you cant get them to relate to how other people they feel either. ive got a feeling whatever therapist picks up this girl's case isnt going to make much progress into getting her to integrate into normal society.

Narcissists are not always sociopaths, but i agree that 95% of teen girls are narcissists, probably because all this social media and the craving for fame and attention.

Its disgusting how women became so bad with all this celebrity culture and egomania. Women were always attention seekers, but now with all this "social media crap" and this "party culture", this problem became abominational.

Not to mention with a little bit of extra ingredients called feminism, I just think the west is doomed.

No wonder the birthrate in the west is so low, who wants to make a family with these disgusting whores?
4424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling. Is It Wrong? on: September 06, 2015, 09:27:48 AM
Well i personally know a guy who won 20,000€ on gambling, he played poker and craps and one lucky day he won the big one.

He had good discipline and stopped right there. He bought himself a car, and rest deposited into the bank after taxes.

The keyword with gambling is discipline, but many people can get emotional, if they werent, then they would win most of the times.

The heart of a smart, beautiful, and rich female.

"Hey cutie, check out the cryptocurrency balance of this paper wallet"

*girl becomes weak in the knees out of sheer ecstasy*

 Shocked

How do you prove that its yours, you can just grab one of satoshidice's addresses with 1-2 million $ on it, and say that its yours.

Its a damn clever trick, and i bet most women would fall for it.

4427  Economy / Economics / Re: Do You Think Bitcoin Will Replace Dollar Soon? on: September 06, 2015, 09:17:29 AM
Coinbase CEO believes bitcoin will replace dollar within 15 years.

Read the following news:
http://cointelegraph.com/news/114983/coinbase-ceo-bitcoin-will-replace-dollar-within-15-years

Do you think it will be true? Are you positive towards bitcoin's future status?

The bitcoin is just another way to see the money, but in reality is just a "cryptocoin". Fiat currencies draw their value from being backed by assets or by central banks. In contrast, bitcoin draws its value from scarcity in that there are only a limited number available in circulation or from mining operations. Bitcoin is not dependent on any change in value of underlying assets, such as gold or silver, but is backed by the basic market principles of supply and demand. so I dont think so homie.

Wow you must be out of touch with reality, or you missed the last 80 years of banking history:

Quote
Fiat currencies draw their value from being backed by assets or by central banks

This statement is so wrong that i dont even know from where to begin. Fiat money is not backed by anything and it can be counterfeited into oblivion. The central bank basically swaps treasuries into currency, and both instruments are a mirage.

Sorry but fiat money has the same value as the paper it is printed on it, anything more is just a big delusion that people bought into.
4428  Economy / Economics / Re: The Real Story of Gold on: September 06, 2015, 09:04:02 AM
I think if you really categorize precious metals as money, then I think only silver is a real "precious metal" money.

Gold still suffers from lack of divisibility which is a core property of money. Prices are generally relatively too low for gold, so this makes trade very difficult with standardized gold coins or gold cubes.

So for everyday goods standardized silver coins, cubes or rounds are a better physical "money".

Perhaps if you want to go higher then use electrum coins with standardized purity ratio, but other than that gold is only for rich people.

But i told you guys already that even if these metals serve as money, bitcoin is still way better than them.
4429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What vision do you have for bitcoin's blockchain on: September 05, 2015, 09:16:23 PM

I can tie the solar system to my bitcoin address, but that does not mean that I own the solar system  Wink

The key is to enforce this tie, bitcoin's tie with fiat money is enforced by the market force on exchanges, you put bitcoin on exchange and you will receive fiat money as return. But where should I put a string from the blockchain and receive the solar system as return?

No because there is no exchange that lists or enforces the solar system as a sellable good.

But if you put a pair of shoes or a lamp for sale in bitcoin, the exchange can enforce that by providing a civilized dispute resolution system, a trust system, escrows and even private detectives (maybe in the future, to track down scammers more effectively that the police).

So you know exactly that you get a pair of shoes if you give bitcoins. The risk is only of scammers, but that can be resolved with the earlier written suggestions.

Of course there is no physical tie between these, but they are done via contracts, agreements, both verbal and written.

Contracts are the only civilized and efficient way to govern society. And the technical side can be handled by blockchain (perhaps smart-contracts)!
4430  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you wish you could buy with btc ? on: September 05, 2015, 09:02:49 PM
I wish to buy a car lol, ordering it online and see next morning to my door lol, maybe it will be possible in next few years

You wish it was that easy. With all the redtape, documentation and approvals you need to get, its very hard to own a car now, especially if its a big car or a truck, because you pay extra  tax on that.
4431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is not mainstream yet & my suggestions! on: September 05, 2015, 08:30:54 PM
Bitcoin is better in any shape or form that the current banking system.

The only issue i see for consumers is the lack of stores accepting it + the points I addressed in post #1 which is tied o point 1) somewhat.

Yes they wont use it if they cant spend it, and its hard to buy with all the KYC requirements, but other than that its much better in any aspect.

I know people are dumb and lazy, thats why we need to address my point, and with that we can overcome the inertia of the masses.

Is it? Ideally it would be better, but currently it's not. You can't just say it's better and offer no reasons why. Tell me why would my parents or grandparents want to use bitcoin? Heck, why would my friends even want to use it? It loses value more than it gains. If you get hacked your money is gone for good. You can barely buy anything with it. Why would they use bitcoin when they can just send paypal around the world without fees too and they're covered of anything goes wrong. Bitcoin isn't this magic perfect money machine as much as we want it to be and we need to accept that currently the 99% of people have no use or benefit from it whatsoever and thats going to be the big problem and why I made the phone comparison. People don't need to upgrade their phone if the new one doesn't really offer them any noticeable benefits. There are certainly benefits for certain industries like the remittance market but that's no use to anybody I know.

Well yes I can see the bitcoin inflation issue, but that will be less next year. And even now its only about 9.09%% YoY, the USD yearly inflation is already over 11%:

http://www.chapwoodindex.com/

Then it can be transferred almost for free, while bank transfers are very expensive.

Then it has no capital controls.

Then it doesnt discriminate based on sex, religion, political views, etc..

And so on, I already made a list of this in the GOLD vs. BITCOIN thread in economics sector:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=508270.0
4432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is not mainstream yet & my suggestions! on: September 05, 2015, 06:47:43 PM

You are getting close...

Bitcoin will be adopted by rich and wealthy long before "maintstream" catches on to it. By all account this accumulation has already started and should continue.

Don't be concerned with selling Bitcoin to the masses as if somehow that is what will give it value. The masses in general are not so wealthy and even combined the capital they can trust into Bitcoin is infinitely small compared to the 1%.

The 1% don't need apps, promotions campagains, newbie guides, search engines or MORE TRANSACTIONS. Bitcoin as it exist now, as a deflationary censorship resistant store of wealth will serve their interest perfectly as the existing economy erodes and they make their way for the exit.

Good point there, i forgot the herd mentality.

Its obvious that the rich will join the boat first, they always do, they are opportunists, thats why they are rich.

And after they made alot of money, the sheep will then follow their leaders too and join.

However we can accelerate this process, i dont really want to wait 20 years for bitcoin to start, when it can be done in 3-7 years.
4433  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Two-year-old Chilean boy abandoned by his drunk mother breastfed by pregnant dog on: September 05, 2015, 06:42:57 PM
CPS is probably the worse case scenario that could happen, because if you take away a kid for eating unhealthy food, and then you give it to pedophiles (which more adopters are) will not help that kid at all.

This is no joke. These sort of incidents are happening for real, and at an alarming frequency. An example is here:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/mother-tongue/4365171/Social-services-remove-young-children-from-grandparents-and-arrange-adoption-by-gay-couple.html

Two children (a five-year-old boy and his four-year-old sibling) were given away to homosexual "couples", as according to the CPS, the 46-year old grandmom was too old to look after them.

I`m not laughting.

But it's obvious that institutions dealing with children are full of pedophiles. I mean obviously where else would they go if they want to do this crime. Not to mention the so called "foster care" or "adoption" families, who know what kind of criminals enlist for these services.
4434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What vision do you have for bitcoin's blockchain on: September 05, 2015, 06:05:32 PM

It is not perfect, but it would be more efficient, and secure than current ID system with public info.

Same can be done with credit/debit cards, it's not like the card number is confidential, even if its says it is, how the fuck is it confidential if it's printed on the front of your debit card, that anybody can see or take a photo of when you use it?

I guess thats why Mastercard uses the 3D-Secure system, but thats still a very amateur addition to security.

The key is to prove the relationship between a blockchain object and a real world object

Bitcoin has no direct relationship to real world objects, but there are exchanges and payment processors who establish such relationship so that you can easily exchange bitcoin with real world objects. Or to say, exchanges guaranteed that your bitcoin will be able to exchange for similar value of any currencies any time

It is different to have a relationship between a string on blockchain and a real world objects like property. There is no one that can guarantee the owner of that string can claim that land without going through a lengthy process of ownership change. Unlike bitcoin, where the change of ownership of money is almost instant, you need some formal and legal process to claim the ownership of a land

So then how is your bank account tied to your work at your job? Isnt it the same framework.

Or your paypal account to e-bay goods & services.

The framework to tie objects to digital systems is simple, and it only requires verificability, and transparency, and trust.

I voted for super market shopping but I wanted to add savings and international remittance too with my vote.I think these polls should be multi-answered to cover all the aspects and features those someone can adds to his answer to describe more accurately his point of view about the vision of blockchain.

Good point, it seems it is only possible to do a single vote on this forum

Its also easy to create 1000's of newbies accounts to destroy the voting system.

Either you filter out the newbie accounts, or you make it a money based voting system, just like in a stock corporation.
4435  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Special trains for ‘rude’ Chinese on: September 05, 2015, 06:00:53 PM
It might not be 100% hardcore Stalin style, but it sure has enough remnants of communism left , to be still called communist.

Clearly - you don't know China and are just talking rubbish.

The vast majority of people have to work for a wage just like in the west so your idea of modern China is rather a fantasy.

Also when the natives don't call themselves communist you should probably listen to them (but it seems that you just listen to western propaganda instead).

Hey dont get me wrong, it's a nice place with nice buildings, and really good culture and enviroment, but I just think there are still a few ideological terms that are badly defined here.

You should check out here the definition, to understand what I`m saying here:

4436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's make a chart showing where most BTC usage is in the USA! on: September 05, 2015, 05:57:56 PM

You mean something like http://fiatleak.com

Is fiatleak only counting the buy orders? Or the net change in realtime?

Because if it counts only buy orders then it sucks, because the same amount of sell orders happen too (thats why the price doesnt change), so its very misleading.

I've posted this before and got told once that that website is not very accurate and was somewhat "rigged". Could someone explain exactly why fiatleak.com is not legitimate? i've tried to find a good explanation for this but I can't find anything convincing, it seems pretty legit to me, its just taking data from the exchanges right?

I didnt said that its not legitimate, i said it's misleading.

Becuase it only counts BUY orders, but not SELL orders.

If one guy buy 1 BTC, but then sells it at other price, then the net change is +0 BTC, but this site shows it as +1.

If the BTC buy orders would grow by that much, then the price would move up too. The only reason why BTC price is not growing is because the same amount gets bid up than asked down.

I am a little confused.
When a person does a BUY order that means another person made a SELL order.
Counting both as different would probably be misleading and false, not?
....
....
So counting only BUY orders should be correct, right?

All buy orders are sell orders too obviously. There are 2 sides, 1 guy buys another sells.

But what I mean, and this is how the market mechanism moves the price, is that if a BUY order happens, then the ASK's get hit and if the quantity is bigger than the available supply at that price level then the price moves up to the next ASK.

That site only counts in BUY orders, as when a guy puts a BID at the same price as the available ASK, however if he sells it back at the same ASK level, another guy will buy it via BID, thus 2 buys happened for 1 BTC, but the price stayed exactly the same.

It is funny because if the demand is not rising, and only a few speculators swap BTC, you can have 1 million BTC buys show up on that site and the price doesnt necessarly have to move a muscle.

So that information is totally useless.
4437  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Special trains for ‘rude’ Chinese on: September 05, 2015, 05:52:33 PM
I lived in a communist country so i know this from experience.

Again - China is not a "communist country" and if you believe that then you are a "brainwashed westerner".

What else can I say - I live in China and I know!
(you obviously have never lived in China)

They have "first class tickets" here - now what kind of communist country would have that?

Everywhere you can pay more to get "better service" such as "five star hotels" - again - what communist country would have that?

Jesus - even at the banks you can have a VIP account so you don't need to wait so long in a queue (they don't even have that in Australia so basically that makes Australia look more communist than China).

It's not a few perks that distunguish communism from capitalism. So you think that a few train tickets, and VIP accounts are the difference?

Looks like you never picked up an economics book in your life.

It might not be 100% hardcore Stalin style, but it sure has enough remnants of communism left , to be still called communist.
4438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proposal to add Bitcoin symbol to Unicode on: September 05, 2015, 05:45:02 PM
So why do we need the Unicode approval for this?

Cant we just create a patch for all OS's and include the BTC in it's alphabet? I dont understand why we need their permission to include it in the alphabet.

Can anybody enlighten me?
4439  Economy / Economics / Re: Just wanted to post the break down of my investments on: September 05, 2015, 05:37:05 PM

its not always about you and your profit you insensitive piece of shit, don't you dare use the word we. A person has the right to do anything he seems fit with his money, if it made him happy but wasn't good for him, you have no right to speculate how good his future could have been, only because his money would benefit you indirectly. Not everybody wants to buy bitcoin, let somebody have a smoke you clever shit.

You dont have to insult to get your point across, it makes you look immature.

Then i`m sure if he smoked 60,000€ worth of cigarettes, he wont live to be a grandpa. These are facts not opinions.

He has the right to do anything with his body, the problem is that I pay for his healthcare, if you didnt observed, its always the hardworking disciplined people that pay for the healthcare of drunk, lazy, smoking, drug addict scums, that are irresponsible.

If the universal healthcare were to be abolished, then I would not mind what he does with his money. Then it would only be a friendly suggestion/opinion, not a demand of like "stop your maddness because I pay for it".
4440  Other / Politics & Society / Re: So much for trying to bring philosophy to the public on: September 05, 2015, 05:20:17 PM
Reality shows and crappy comedy shows get more view/day than the entire philosophical / intellectual sphere in a decade.

People are dumb, ignorant, lazy ,emotional driven monkeys, they were never interested in intellectual debates, they always do things out of instinct and emotions.

Humanity is going down the toilet, i`m sorry but this race will go extinct in a thousand years if this path continues.

It seems to me that with television and internet people have become the dumbest of all time. Even the illiterate middle-age person was more wise and rational than the current braindead monkeys.
