Isnt there a calculator, where i can see how many namecoins i mine in 24h with current difficulty? Something like deepbit has, because i still think it's more profitable to mine namecoins.
http://www.alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculator.phpreplace difficulty with the one you get from namecoind getdifficulty

get an AMD card, preferably 58xx (best cost-performance)

Win 7 Ultimate x64 Gigabyte EP45-UD3P motherboard, all cards run through extender. 2 x16, 3 x1->x16. Ran 1 5970 (Sapphire), 2 5870 (XFX), 1 5830 (Sapphire.)
but that's only 4. 1 + 2 + 1 = 4

People moved to namecoin - its instantaneous difficulty is now 100,000... 0.o, and it's already at 55000.
It was 3k less than a week ago.
D:
it's a fad. Once they found out that it's no longer profitable, it will make a correction

it's called MH/s, not mhz

I'm having a problem with the .conf file. Is there a special way it needs to be created? the way I was doing it was with a text document named bitoin.conf and I'd put a user name and pass in it yet it still doesn't work. Namecoind closes automatically by itself still and if I run namecoind commands in CMD I get this error:
error: You must set rpcpassword=<password> in the configuration file: C:/Users/Edit/AppData/Roaming/Namecoin/bitcoin.conf
The file is in the correct place. I must be doing something wrong. Any ideas?
Does that path exist on your computer? Is that where you put the file? You do have file extensions showing under folder options, correct? guys, it's %appdata%\namecoin\bitcoin.conf

Wow, this pool has grown a great deal in the past day!! And I have to believe we are close to finding our first block soon!! And I would love to be the one that gets lucky and finds it!! lol
you clearly do not understand how mining works. LOL, I am still very new to this, to be sure. The outcome of each hash is independent of any hashes that are before it. in other words, after hashing for one year (and not getting anything), the chances of you getting a block is still the same.

small amounts are ok as well.
Keep in mind the namecoin:bitcoin difficulty ratio. If you were mining namecoins, you would get them about 15 times faster than bitcoins, so don't offer anything like "10 btc for 450 nc"

OK I just measured the power through my iMac with a 6750 chip in it.
iMac not mining: 72 watts. iMac running DiabloMiner: 88 watts.
So turning mining on adds 16 watts! Whereas mining on my 5850 adds about 150 watts.
The iMac is not using much power for the graphics card!
The the electricity to keep the iMac on all day mining is only $0.34. Whereas the 44 MHash/second earns you $0.85.
So the iMac is still profitable as a miner.
Sam
5850 > 6750 your argument is invalid. It's like saying "derp imma use 6650 to mine, coz it use 50W!!"
