4421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 29, 2020, 12:23:40 PM
Did anyone of you guys check the odds and put a bet?

[..snip..]
Nadal is the obvious favorite followed by Djokovic and Thiem.

Who do you guys think will upset them? Tsitsipas is very inconsistent will Schtwartzman and Zverev but comes short. It will boils down to Nadal and Djokovic again? The odds is still attractive, but I haven't put any bet as of yet.

Nadal has an open road to semi-final, with Zverev there, do not think that anyone can kick him out
Djokovic has an open road to semi-final as well, with only major player there, if we can call him that on clay, is Khachanov

Yes, Zverev is a potential opponent in the QF and then Thiem in semis for Nadal.

Djokovic will have Matteo Berrettini in QF and then Medvedev in semis. Another possibility is Tsitsipas in semis as well.

But we all know why Nadal is the favourite here, he is nearly unbeatable in French Open, 93-95. I think it will only be Djokovic who might be his top competitor.

I check the official twitter account: https://twitter.com/SurvivalBet

I think you better check it.

Anyhow I did register with disposal email but didn't get the code and I don't have a survival account. Probably will have to check later if code arrived.

Yes, I love the design though, I'm an old school as you can get so I appreciate it.
4423  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency and Blockchain – Industry News – (11.15.19 – 11.22.19) on: September 28, 2020, 02:00:17 PM
TWITTER
• @IOHK_Charles – Bitcoin's price is going down? Remember everyone, after the FUD, news trading and manipulation clears out, we still have a global movement that's going to change the world. We will see 10k btc again and welcome 100k. Crypto is unstoppable. Crypto is the future.

Yes, interesting to see these kind of old thread and their predictions. This is pre halving and pre pandemic, and they are calling about bitcoin getting into the 5 digit range. And it eventually happen in 2020 even though we see the price have a massive decline due to corona virus outbreak, the only prediction that is worth to see is $100k, which coincidentally was the s2f model is also predicting in the next coming years. So let's see how it goes.

Well we can go back to a lot of threads in the past, even at 2010 people really don't know how big bitcoin will be in future. Even the 2017 predictions are off, if my memory serves me right, I saw one prediction saying that at the end of 2017, bitcoin will be price at $5k, but look at how everything ends, we also touch $20k back then.

So I wouldn't be surprised to see 6 digits in the future. S2F model is just one of the many predictions pointing to a direction that $100K is possible and a trillion dollar market cap.
4424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kucoin hacker moved the stolen BTC. on: September 28, 2020, 01:32:20 PM
It also try to move $500,000 worth of USDT but was unsuccessful because the address has been blacklisted on the contract to call transfer (), hence the transaction is reverted.

Unfortunately, there is one address that is not yet blacklisted,

Which is moving funds just right now swapping it using Uniswap.
4425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs. Conor McGregor on: September 28, 2020, 01:22:47 PM
I know this will be a big night, and a big seller for the fans. However, I'd just like to see Conor actually get back into the UFC, and start earning his way back to a title shot. I'm not a fan of these boxing crossovers, since someone of Conor's quality, and persona should be fighting for titles, and not these white collar boxing events. I do think this will be a good fight, and ultimately Pacquiao will come out on top. Although, I'm hoping Conor, and Dana sort out their issues, and get Connor back in contention for the title within a few years.

If I'm not mistaken, Conor hinted a return to MMA, but obviously, it seems that the talks has break down because he wanted to fight Pacquaio now for a bigger money.

I do doubt it though, I believe Conor thinks he deserves big money for the once big name he was. Don't get me wrong hes still a massive name inside UFC, but he was taken apart in his last but one fight against Khabib, and against Cerrone it was too short lived to really get an idea of whether he can return back to the big names.

I think he had lost the enthusiasm once the taste the huge pay check fighting Floyd Mayweather. And he knows that no Dana or at least the UFC can't give him that, not even fighting Khabib. So his only options is to chase Manny and probably retire for good.
4426  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predict the bitcoin price range as we enter the New Year on: September 28, 2020, 12:29:03 PM
I'm not seeing the price going below 5 digits, on the contrary, we might see a new highs, probably in the range of $14k at the end of the year. There's a lot of indicators that we are somewhat in a sort of mini bull run, in the last leg of this year, we might see this bullishness specially approaching December.

So I would say $12k and up. Although there is still the looming financial crisis because of the pandemic, but people, just not in crypto, are starting to see the benefits of bitcoin as an asset. And we seen the during December, the price seems to have a good run. So with that said, my vote is:  $12,001 - $14,000.
4427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: BOUNTY AND UNFAIR TREATMENT OF HUNTERS on: September 27, 2020, 11:53:10 AM
Just to be fair with the projects, perhaps they've learned their lessons from the 2017 bull run. Many bounty hunters cheats a lot of campaign with alt accounts but no one. complain that time from bounty hunters because they make a killing out of it. But the community started to have merits, and bounty cheaters are caught one by one. And then the project offering has been reduce and now we have started to hear this complaints for the last 2 to 3 years or so because the market witnessed a bear market.

I guess for bounty hunters, if you find the project offering you cheap rewards then skip and look for other bounties. We are no longer in the 2017 hype, everything has change then. It's no longer a "job" for everyone. You might as well be a trader or investor to make more money instead of joining scam and fraud projects.
4428  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Not your keys, not your Crypto – Kucoin Hacked! $150m Stolen. on: September 27, 2020, 11:05:01 AM
This is sad news for the crypto market and for Kucoin we all understand that there is no certainty in the crypto market and that putting assets on an exchange is risky.
However Kucoin has insurance and I expect the stolen funds to be received back.

If this is true, $150 million is a lot of money to be given back, and I don't know if Kucoin has that much money to refund back the stolen funds to their customers. And it might take months or years to refund that huge amount.

So if you are one of those who have lost your funds in the hack, I will say that don't expect to get your money the soonest. Don't be negative on my statement, it's not false hope either. And let this be another lessons for every crypto trader. For others who didn't lost, then good for you, but still having huge amount sitting in one exchange is not a good practice. Although it might merit to try CEX because of this incident, it might take a while though, because we all know that CEX has its own pitfall as well.
4429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Charlo vs Derevyanchenko on Sept 26 on: September 27, 2020, 10:41:00 AM
I'm not a fan of the Charlo brothers, but I still think Jermall is going to win this one.

Derevyanchenko is coming off two losses in the last three fights, against similar tier fighters to Charlo (Golovkin and Jacobs). And he only beat a bottom-feeder like Culcay by decision.

I'm going to go for Charlo in 5-8 by KO/TKO.

Once Charlo wins, he'll still be in third place in the middleweights though, Since Golovkin and Saul Alvarez are the only two ranked higher than him, with massively better records too.

I'm also for Charlo he has a clear edge here but Derevyanchenko is a tough fighter, after this fight Charlo should go against Alvarez or Golovkin as clearly he is overshadowed by these two fighters he is third rank in the current middleweight champion he has no big fights yet compared to these two great fighters.

Alvarez vs Golovkin III is already in play, Alvarez vs. Golovkin: The Trilogy we've all been waiting for! , but obviously it needed to be rescheduled because of Covid-19 pandemic.

He can chase Demetrius Andrade for the WBO title, if boxing politics will not intervene.

As for Jermell, Patrick Teixeira is the only other title belt holder at 154 lbs, so a fight with him will be a unification bout.

In any case, good win for the twins, they have passed the toughest test of their career so far.
4430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Micah - Sept 26 on: September 27, 2020, 10:02:26 AM
That's a disrespect to Inoue, he should take the fight, unless he is afraid.

I don't think it's disrespectful to Inoue, remember that English is not Casimero's first language obviously. We have seen worst, Floyd or Conor is way disrespectful to their opponent. He is just expressing the need for Inoue to really face him in the future, because he wanted to show that Inoue is not the monster that everyone wanted to project. And Casimero has proven that he can back up all this pre and post trash talk.

I wouldn't say this is an easy fight for Casimero, Micah offer him a lot in the first round. But obviously, Casimero is giving everything in his punch and it's very heavy. Micah has a chin as well, but it is the body shot that really take everything from him.

There's two whale already:

This can be a great gambling site considering big whales are playing into this site.

Yes, whales are waiting for new gambling site to come along and I think chips.gg offer them another way to play with their slots and promotions. So I'm not surprised that whales are already inside the casino.

I will echo the sentiments about crash games, become addicted to it on other casinos, the adrenaline is different as compare to playing dice on slot machines. It will be a good addition to chips.gg games.
4432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: September 26, 2020, 11:01:07 AM
Looks like Celtics are not going anywhere here, are we going to see another classic game 7 here?
It's not likely to witness a game 7 in ECF with the way the Celtics are playing in game 6.

Congrats to them, the offense was great, and in fact I have won my over bet, EASY!

Herro suddenly cooled off in this game but Tatum and Brown were still consistent.

Let's go Boston!

I don't like the Idea of having Dragic to handle the ball that Long, either let Butler or Herro instead of him taking the charge.

I agree, he seems to be holding the ball too long and then become an isolation player by driving into the basket. So let's see how they are going to adjust on the next game.

Looking to this series, Boston get another  Breathing I love how Smart taking the leadership boosting his teammate to keep fighting and
not to give up, he brings everything cheering up Tatum and Walker, if they continue to play like this with Hayward and Theis support inside
the rim, giving hard time for Bam and crowder, maybe we will see do or die with this series.

Season is not yet over for them, they are working hard to keep the series to go and extend to game 7 and keeping it more interesting. If they are going to win the next game, it will be a momentum shift for Boston and it will be a classic game 7 for sure.

4435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs. Conor McGregor on: September 26, 2020, 09:18:41 AM
Lots of contradictory statements, other media outlet says this is going to happen, but Sean Gibbons issue a different statement. If the fight is going to happen and for sure there will be no fans to watch because we are still under threat from the covid -19 virus, then how can they generate huge money? PPV will not be enough to generate if their goal is to raise as much money to help the covid-19 victims in the Philippines?

Floydie maybe laughing his ass off hearing this news, he started this trend and it shows that Manny is just following on his foot steps. And then Conor McGregor is the sure winner here, as he has the potential to make a lot of money fighting this legendary boxers.
4436  Other / Beginners & Help / How a crypto related website fall for a phishing thru Google Ad and gets hack on: September 26, 2020, 08:53:13 AM
I will just share you an interesting story about a crypto related website, who admit that they have fallen for a phishing attack and lost almost 0,615 BTC. They blame Google, although I must admit that Google has a lot of security lapses and we have been calling them for years to no avail. So it really fall on our lap not to used their services or at least minimised our exposure and do due diligence when using their services.

Quote
How it all started

On  September 23, we needed to log in to the editorial BTC wallet to pay for the services.  Phishing is most dangerous for “hot wallet” users — we kept our funds at Blocкchain.com — and fraudsters stole almost 0,615 BTC from it. You can track the phishers’ address here

At the time of publication, it turned out that 4.6 BTC from 16 transactions had already accumulated on the phishers' address — at least 12 more people fell for the bait. Imagine if there are more addresses though...

Mistake #1

Our wallet account operator used Google search console, entering a “blockchain” query. The official website is 1st among the organic results, but… fraudsters use Google AdWords to place their ad which leads to the phishing website. Noone is protected from social engineering: users can be hasty or distracted and follow the phishing link. This way, our operator was directed to the false authorization page which looks exactly like the official page.

https://cryptonews.net/en/news/security/385689/

Again, Google has been notorious for allowing crypto phishing to show in their ads. We have seen hundreds of reports, from blockchain.com, to exodus, to atomic wallet to Poloniex and Binance to Bitmain to Uni and Defi thingy, everything under the sun.

In a perfect world, this shouldn't happen, but that is not the case, even crypto-related websites such as this one can be a victim here.

4438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: And this is how you make 'easy' money riding the Defi on: September 24, 2020, 01:14:04 PM
Nice write up, simply put this are the ways those scammers are going to work moving forward to catch unsuspecting victims. And we can't really do anything unless these noobs experience losses in their crypto journey.

Again, if there are no victims, these criminals are going to stop and won't even lift a finger. But the problem is that there are still investors who blindly trust people because they think that they can make money. On the contrary, they are going to lose more if they invest on pure greed and FOMO.
4439  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do people keep playing unlicensed, illegal slot machines? on: September 24, 2020, 11:28:07 AM
This machine is dangerous since the result would likely be rigged, no RTP information, no certification, no provably fair, etc. But the business keeps booming. Is this because of a mere convenience? Or something else? Nowadays, people can play from their mobile phones, online, on legit casinos.

The only reason I can think of is that they can't really control themselves not to gamble in this kind of machines. So it boils down to human psychology 101, and the operators very much know this, so it's a win-win situation.

They've simply open up, and someone walks, here the sounds of a very attractive slot machine, you get hooked, and then voila, you are trap. And you don't know maybe you are losing 10$-100$ quickly and you thought you can get back and chase your losses, very bad but you can't exit. So I would agree that it's dangerous to play this kind of illegal machine and it will take a lot of control not to fall for this trick.
4440  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Charlo vs Derevyanchenko on Sept 26 on: September 24, 2020, 11:01:23 AM
Odd is higher to Derevyanchenk if we will going to base on boxing records it seems that he is at disadvantge in this match. But in boxing the fight is being determine on how dedicated a boxer may be in the preparation for fight. Boxing is not only about making punches and score.  Boxing too is all about hardwork and dedication to win the match.

Correct, but in his two title fights, he lost to Daniel Jacob and GGG. So he is somewhat what we call a gate keeper. And sometimes hard work is not enough, you really have the whole package to really elevate yourself against those champion.

Still my bet will goes to Charlo, LOL he has the talent and skills to win the match and way dedicated too to promote his boxing career.

And with that said, I will say that Charlo will come up the winner here. Still in his prime and I think he will show us his skills in this fight so that we will get a crack and huge pay check on this next fight.
