15 minutes in and Spurs have forced 3 saves, 90% possession, corners, 6 shots, what you got, you name it, they are doing it. Burnley's got to be going down if this continues. As it is, I'm switching off for chores, that was some adrenaline rush, back to see Hammers... hammer City. The dream must go on ha ha.

Son, Kane, Davies all taking turns... leea if your boy takes the Golden Boot, I have to say he deserves it man. Salah will too if he ends up with it, but you have plenty of admirers in this pool from Liverpool supporters!

4423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC Fight Night & Main Event: Sportsbet.io Predictions & discussion on: May 15, 2022, 10:11:34 AM
^ So never bet on one of the biggest matches of the rounds then? I thought the opener was always a big deal... but this is why I still see UFC as a conflip whenever the guys don't have a bigger than 6/1 underdog.

Didn't stay up since Liverpool won, sending me quietly and peacefully to bed AFTER staying up with my kid for about another 2 hours to see the Eurovision final (Ukraine won, shocker).

Lost my bets actually, rdbase, since I went for ML and goals and handicaps hahaha so my current out-of-pocket phase extends to Champions League final. Just small change here and there, and tapped out my final spare change today... but I spare a thought for you igehhh...

Back to topic (everything's related somehow in the end!), I ended up getting 6/11. Pretty sure plenty of 9s and 10s from the others!
4424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 15, 2022, 09:04:57 AM
@Kemarit handicap and not straight sets?

I have Tsitsipas ML,  Grin, odds is too tempting not to bet on him. Maybe this will be his chance to beat Djokovic who knows.

I remember that there is a tournament last year that Tsitsipas was leading, won the first set and was in the middle of the second. However, it was raining so the game has to be suspended for a couple of hours. However, when they come back, it was a different Djokovic and Tsitsipas has lost the momentum. So perhaps this might happen again but this time, Tsitsipas will have the mentality to win.

and ^

I've gone for a 2:1 Tsitsi win at 6.06. He's not even 3/1 ML and I should have been alert enough to get an early final appearance, but I think if he wins, he'll still lose a set. You're talking about the French Open, where he was my outright pick actually, broke my heart since then, as he actually led that last meeting 2 sets before the weather ruined his flow, like you said.
4425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +82103 units on: May 15, 2022, 08:43:17 AM
Well, it's the penultimate game of the season and odds are all curtailed, but we'll never give up on City losing one more game right?

So a natural bet for me on West Ham.

100 units at Sportsbet on Hammers to WIN vs Manchester City @8.48. Other odds: 7.50
Units advantage: 98

Running advantage after 134 bets: +14465 (+98)
All-time cumulative: +82,566
Running units after 133 bets (16W|117L): +1338 (-100)
4426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: May 15, 2022, 08:21:45 AM
Intense race for these 3 teams and those champions league spots and i think both deserve them except Rennes.
I think in the end Monaco will take the direct position for the champions league while Marseille will go into qualifcation stage

All it takes is for Rennes to win, and either Monaco or Marseille to lose the final game, and they're through on goal difference... +42 now, which is second highest in the league.

Take PSG out and they have the best offence, second best defence, won as many games as their fancier opponents, you don't think that's more deserving than anyone else in Ligue 1? Not a big follower so maybe you know something dastardly about them I don't haha. But on merit of table, they may have lost more games but they only need to win 1 more game and hope one of the other 2 lose, think that's a fair gain.
4427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Environmental groups urge US government to take action on crypto miners on: May 15, 2022, 07:38:14 AM
Miners to my mind are plugged into the electrical grid, they are consumers of electricity, from the same source as every other consumer from household to industrial.
Not quite accurate. We know from global studies and data that bitcoin mining is one of the greenest industries on the planet, using a far higher percentage of renewable energy than other industries. Bitcoin miners have the advantage that they can set up nearly anywhere, don't need all the expensive infrastructure that other industries need, don't need to be near a population base, and so on. They can go wherever renewable energy is, utilizing energy which would otherwise be wasted and subsidizing renewable projects which would otherwise be unprofitable and therefore not exist.

Definitely the case in Southeast Asia, where we more or less have the same electricity cost models since we all run on a mix of coal/hydro. You register either as a residential or industrial user, the latter gets a far higher rate -- last I checked about 5 times more than a residential user, and it increases with more usage, and with more hours of daily use -- a miner presumably runs 24/7 and will pay the highest tariffs.

It would be impossible to cheat as well since their usage would show up in a heartbeat on any power grid. Residential consumption in Southeast Asia per HH is extremely low considered on a global scale, but industrially, it can be very high compared to a global scale. These guys will clamp down hard and then steamroll your rigs (literally, as I shared last year).

In fact, because the tariffs are much higher for industrial versus residential, most energy-intensive businesses don't plug in but try to subsidize with solar, and we even have special natural gas turbines (Liquified Natural Gas is our cheapest source of fuel, 5% price of gasoline for cleaner burning).

I don't know any miners personally, but I definitely recall several times even in my home town hobbyists trying to work out how to run these gas generators, with solar to produce very cheap electricity  -- the issues in our climate, so close to the equator, is humidity, heat, and of course, noise (the least of the issues, but it's still unwanted attraction).
4428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 14, 2022, 08:49:51 PM
Well, I've been so caught up with football I missed out on my usual fav darkhorse Tsitsi taking his place in the final against high-flying Djoko. Don't see odds up yet, but don't expect anything interesting except maybe to back the loser of the first set in the final in live betting.

@Kemarit handicap and not straight sets?
4429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EFL English Championship League Thread 2021/2022 on: May 14, 2022, 06:48:09 PM
Coming in here after Tsimikas took us home.

And whoops, totally forgot there was that game last night, didn't manage to enter your prediction contest in time @notblox1. Not bad on getting the precise outcome you needed too, what was the odds on that? Should have been at least 5/1.

Be cool to see Luton get the final spot, though not so sure will be kind to them in EPL, seeing the likes of Norwich get whipped, I mean.
4430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: May 14, 2022, 04:53:14 PM
See, told you all Stuttgart was a good bet haha, and yeah it needed a 2nd min injury time winner (how about that for an assist-goal duo made in Japan huh?) but they not only avoided relegation but also jumped right out of playoff...

@Swordsoffreedom the playoff which Berlin now must face, courtesy a belated show from Haaland and co. Was honestly trying to rush home and get some last minute-satoshi in but now just have to "enjoy" watching late footie.
4431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2021/2022 on: May 14, 2022, 04:37:11 PM
Entering the first 20 minutes of the match Liverpool were very dominating and I have no doubts about Liverpool in this final match, they have high motivation to win. This is a good opportunity for Liverpool to get their second title this season, before finally we will look forward to the next two titles which can be the highest achievement if Liverpool succeed. I'm sure Liverpool will win this first half 1-0, although maybe the reality is not as easy as imagined, but I really believe Liverpool at this moment are the best team.

Then I must have missed the best parts, by the time I'd tuned in Salah had already gone off injured (was it bad?) and had time to see even Alisson make good saves. Feels a bit like a tight chess game you'd expect, was really hoping for early goals but I guess this was always going to be borderline. Lukaku seems to have found a way to manhandle VVD, wonder why our defence so off the ball today... even Konate trying from range huh?
4432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 14, 2022, 02:53:34 PM
Oh damn you Salernitana. This is why I say penalties are not given in the hands of teams that aren't top half of a league. Coulda given me an exact score with 6 minutes left but then end up with zero (and to think I upgraded from 1-1). But not that it matters, Harko and Mo both also picked the same score heh.

Not a bad way to start my day before I go out, hope to make it back without missing too much of Wembley.
4433  Economy / Speculation / Re: Panic People Are Selling BTC And Buying inflationary Fiat For Safety But They on: May 14, 2022, 02:13:56 PM
Weeeelll, yes, but also, you're still in need of this inflationary fiat if you want to buy BTC, so it could also be people (smart can we call some?) are selling now, expecting even deeper slumps, so they get more bang for buck.

I'm not a literal buyer, as often say, but I get my coins from work, and then I sell almost as soon as I get them, I imagine in 2022 more and more people are like me: earning and selling to pay bills.

Probably not good to pile on selling pressure but no other option, and perhaps better (healthier) in the long run to keep the economy running. That adds value in the long run, no?
4434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: May 14, 2022, 01:11:07 PM
Reason for Rennes' optimism may be that Marseille will not be highly motivated to win the away game, but on the other hand, although Marseille's position in second place is quite solid, they need to score at least 2 points to protect themselves from an attack from Nice. Now I think that this game will end in a draw. This would be the most logical result.

BTTS may be just the right bet to make -- Rennes scoring every game since April, but I'd probably bet on the losing team live, as soon as first goal is scored --  outright if an early goal, handicap or double chance if second half.

Impossible to choose, my form brain normally picks Marseille in this case (and biting back from the Feyenoord-induced exit) but then also says time for Rennes to do something special.
4435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: May 14, 2022, 12:08:30 PM
You know it's really a meaningless game when odds for Wolfsburg at home against Bayern is a mere 59/10. Would ordinarily see this as good value, but too low to risk my money. Bayern's going to want to win this just for fun and, unshackled by that pressure, I'd imagine a good whallopping.

@Barcode_ My thinking's been firmly on Stuttgart since they drew Bayern.
4436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Coping Strategy for Bitcoin Price Crash on: May 14, 2022, 11:42:57 AM
Acceptance and gratitude definitely, I always am thankful I got in when I did and not later. Happy to have witnessed two ATHs, and happy that even when forced to liquidate savings for emergencies (you know how it is, real life loves to strike) that it was in nett gains.

And always, I think, focus on living life. Then when the markets are down and we set in for winter, we've still got plenty of building and improvement to do. Your art, your career, your loved ones. Even forum camaraderie.

As mk4, vapourminer, etc. point out, then this just becomes part of the cycle of (Bitcoin) life.
4437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The 10,000-Hour Rule in Bitcoin? on: May 14, 2022, 09:01:02 AM
Not a fan of these made up rules, anyone who does anything with his hands or brains for a living knows practice improves your art, and there's no limit to how long you practise for, and you put it off for a while and you lose some of your mastery, it's maintenance.

Now exactly how this applies to buying Bitcoin, I'm not sure. I can't really see how to improve or degrade my DCA if I just keep at it. I actually found that the more I tried to make it sophisticated, the less value or efficiency I got out of it. The simpler I kept it (rigid periodic blind buys) he more value and more efficient it became, the more time I got to myself mastering my actual art.

FA Cup final is all on my eyes now!
Chelsea crushed Leeds tonight and they are going extra motivated in FA Cup final with Liverpool, but they could be more tired than Liverpool who is going to have one more day of rest after winning against Aston Villa.
Visit Games and Round for prediction competition and check out odds on Sportasbet website:

Can't remember where I read it but I think it was a couple of City players who said 2 days is even enough for them, they would happily play 3 games a week if they could, but I think it was also fringe players who said it so of course they don't know how it's like to play every game a whole season with just 3 days in between. Then of course you have monsters like Inaki Williams who tonight will play 229 consecutive games for Athletic Bilbao -- never left out, never injured, never suspended. of course, Bilbao doesn't usually play many games in season unlike treble-chasing teams..!

I know Mane and Salah would never give up a single minute even if they played 3 games a week. Those guys are recovery monsters, they stay up til 2 or 3 am after a game just to warm down and cool down and then rest properly. And then they both happen to observe fasting, didn't eat or drink an entire month from dawn to dusk until last week -- and still ran like demons.

Early game today too, strangely, I got caught out as thought it was 7pm or 9pm my time, but starts before 6... so might even miss a bit of first half =(

4440  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Issues with signature campaigns (historical). on: May 14, 2022, 07:13:31 AM
Don't really follow so not super familiar, but I do recall the adkinsbets campaign which ran for a week but actually resulted in weeks if not months of follow-on skullduggery of alts just making their rounds everywhere. Don't know the details.

But surely altcoin/ico/bounty type campaigns from 2017/18 era is worth mentioning? No quality control, no alt account checks, so people were paid in hundreds and thousands of worthless shitcoins that somehow could end up earning people tens of thousands of dollars when dumping was still possible. It was, to me, specifically this passage of signature campaigns that led to the massive forum clean up and merit system.

Sadly, I can still remember threads were people were just posting dumps of bot Tweets daily, "amazing project" "I will invest" posts etc. to get their "stakes".
