4421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna - July 16 on: July 03, 2022, 11:16:32 PM
Quick glance at the odds in Stake.com

ML:

Garcia - 1.08
Fortuna - 7.20

So we can say that Garcia is then again like in the Tagoe fight is the outstanding favorite to win. No other betting listed though, so let's wait for the odds on the KO, I'm interested to see what the bookies will gave Ryan or any other betting options for that matter.
4422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 03, 2022, 10:58:20 PM
If we are talking about super max contract, we got one:  Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic agrees to five-year, $270 million supermax extension.

Quote
Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic has agreed to the largest contract in NBA history -- a five-year, $270 million supermax extension, his agents, Jeff Schwartz and Mike Lindeman of Excel Sports, told ESPN on Friday.

Jokic, the two-time reigning Most Valuable Player, is now secured to the Nuggets for a total of six seasons for $303 million.

The deal includes a player option and a trade kicker. The contract will kick in during the 2023-24 season at $46.6 million and climb every season until 2027-28, when Jokic is set to make $61.5 million.

I think he deserves every penny of it, he really work hard to get to this position, winning multiple MVP's now. But the argument is, can he get this team at least to the NBA finals? Although Jamal Murray and then Porter Jr was injured, but if both or at least one of them play next season, I'm expecting the Dallas to make a run to the championship.
4423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Kazuto Ioka vs Donnie Nietes II on: July 03, 2022, 10:34:16 PM
One thing about Nietes is that when no one expected him to win but in the end, he emerged victorious lol.

Although Ioka were defeated last time, Nietes will be the underdog on their rematch because of age? I think there's something wrong with the bookies if that's the factor they are seeing. Everything is now depend on boxer's age rather than overall performance. I'm now more excited to see Nietes winning this fight, maybe much better if via TKO.

I want to see Nietes defeating Ioka infront of his Japanese countrymen. That's a big upset and that will be a great win for our PH representative.

Age in boxing is synonymous with performance, i mean 40 years old in boxing is too old and we expect the performance of that boxer to diminish if he reached that age even the great ones like Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

I  agree and the speed of Nietes greatly slowed down probably due to the age factor but as I watch Ioka's last fight, he isn't that fast and explosive so probably the punching and movement speed won't be the concern here.  I believe this fight will depend on how well the boxers condition themselves.  This might end in another unanimous decision in favor who ever lands the most volume of punches.

That is the first sigh though, when fighters lost their speed and then their punch resistance. We have seen this in Manny Pacquiao and now Nonito.

Anyhow, let's see the performance of Donnie here, the thing is this is a rematch, he has the blueprint how to beat the Japanese so he might used that same strategy and then maybe protect his chin better than the first fight.
4424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: July 02, 2022, 11:53:25 PM
I think there's no problem with the location as US is the idea place for this big event, the only problem I see is the sharing because until now, Spence are still asking for a bigger slice of the pie which I think is reasonable, but Crawford's camp might not like it.

The 60/40 in favor of Spence is just a speculation by most analyst and here. There is no official statement released or news stating how much Spence really demands. I think he's fine with 60/40 as I think he won't go too far requesting above it.

Yeah, this speculation is based on the PPV numbers that Crawford has as compare to Spence. And we might all agree that Spence has bring more PPV numbers as compare to Crawford, and then we have the belts as well. Spence has 3, so that is enough for him maybe to have that 60/40 split on his favor.

But what if the scenario is, Crawford is the one objecting about the purse split? He is ranked top against Spence but the latter holds several titles and all his fights are sold out including PPVs compare to Spence.

But regardless, it's about both boxer's pride. If no one will give way about the purse split, it will take a long time before the fight will be officially organized. 50/50 won't happened and it shouldn't be done like that. Spence 60/40 should be the right split.

Sooner or later someone's pride has to give up just to make this fight happen. Otherwise another what if when both retired without fighting. And it's really up to them, if they tell us what the purse split it, most fight released their numbers, PPV, gate revenue, split. So we might fight out later what will it be.
4425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 02, 2022, 11:23:20 PM
There's no doubt he is the best fighter now in the bantamweight division, and I don't think he will have a hard time beating Butler if both will agree to unify their belts. I'm already seeing a massive favorite on the side of Inoue as Butler although a champion is not ranked at the top compared to Inoue who is a pound for pound fighter.

Butler's record isn't impressive, with 2 losses and less than 50% KO victory.  And I think Butlers also suffered a KO on his 2 losses so I don't think he is tougher than any opponent Inoue has met.  Butler was floored by Zolani Tete on the eight-round when he was hit by two consecutive left uppercuts.[1]  So it is highly likely that Butler will kiss the canvas if these two fighters meet in the boxing ring.

Speaking of Zolani Tete, he will have a fight against another British fighter, Jason Cunningham in an undercard of Joyce vs Hammer. The fight will be contested on 122 lbs, we all know that Casimero knock out Tete to get the WBO belt.

https://www.dazn.com/en-PH/news/boxing/jason-cunningham-vs-zolani-tete-date-fight-time-tv-channel-and-live-stream/1n7o9m3w9jgn31n7msgues080a

This fight didn't last as Zolani Tete blasted Cunningham from the beginning to score a sensational 4th round knock out.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lH8JIyygP60

So he puts his name again on the map as could be the challenger for a world title. Cunningham is good no doubt about it winning the Commonwealth title, but Tete is on a different levels and hopefully he is ok because it seems he was knock out cold.
4426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 02, 2022, 10:37:16 PM
So now the Jazz has twin towers? Rudy Gobert and KAT? not sure if this is a good combination and what will Rudy bring to them? I think this is a bad trade for the Wolves, except for his defense, I don't think Rudy offers something that will change the course of their team. On the contrary he might be liable again when small teams going to take advantage of Rudy in pick and roll and then simply get past by him in iso play outside.

Basically yes, but KAT might move to power forward position, maybe that's where they went him to be, post day and then shooting outside, sort of Dirk during his prime. They still have a good play maker in Russell, so there is no love lost for Rudy Gobert. He will be his Donovan Mitchell now, lob and alley oop for him, the play will continue with him.

Minnesota actually wants to get rid of Russell. I also think that Russell is not a good fit in Minnesota. His current contract is even more not worth to keep for Minnesota since he will become only a 4th option with the arrival of 3 time DPOY Rudy Gobert.

Right, that's the speculation as well, the D'Lo will be out of Minnesota, and like the rest of you, expecting that there will be changes in Utah, either Gobert or Mitchell. And seeing that they just sign him last season with a huge contract, I thought it might take sometime before they will have to ship him out. Nevertheless, he was traded. And as far as D'Lo, we will wait, maybe he is going to be traded soon too with another guard or remain with team for the time being.

By the way, are there any news about the Warriors adding some big man in their roster through trade?

They still have another big man, James Wiseman, a young talented center. He just missed the remainder of last season due to injury, but is expecting to return next season.

4427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Kazuto Ioka vs Donnie Nietes II on: July 02, 2022, 09:29:20 AM
Nice, yeah, Nietes defeated Ioka in 2018, and then he vacated but he says he is eager to reclaim this title. He was inactive, but in the last year, he beat Carillo via UD and then SD against Jimenez.

And for the record,
NIETES BREAKS ELORDE'S RECORD AS PH LONGEST REIGNING WORLD CHAMP.

And we can say it that hopefully he can regain his belt back, but at 40 years old, time is running out. And I'm expecting that he will be in the HOF in the future.
4428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shiba Inu Could Reach $5 By 2050 !!!??? on: July 02, 2022, 09:01:34 AM
Damn, and we are still in the Shiba hype? Not sure if this is achievable, and I have doubts about it. The supply and then the hype, it might just died down in this bear market for all we know. Or if it will survived, it will be covered by newer project, and obviously the new hype. So again, if you can make money out of Shiba then good. But look at it as the next Ethereum, for me it is just base on pump and dump, sorry to burst the bubble.
4429  Economy / Speculation / Re: Q2 Bitcoin Close -56% on: July 02, 2022, 08:06:30 AM
I guess the worst is yet to come, this bear market is very long, and we are just in the beginning. So we might have to endure more downside later and yeah, $10k-$14k will definitely be the next lowest low.

As others said, the global recession, it is the main factor that will affect all markets and all businesses as well. So it will be negative throughout this year and the next. Might sound be a doom and gloom, but it is what it is and everyone should be prepared. If the opportunity opens up for a $10k-$14k, then good opportunity.
4430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: July 02, 2022, 07:33:25 AM
Definitely! Bookies will take any opportunity that will earn them extra money.  Grin  I wonder what will the be odds for Magsayo winning by KO and vice versa.
It's not yet listed mate, but it seems the odds have stabled a bit, Magsayo becoming the slight favorite now. I would assume that the  odds for a KO win for him might be the same or slight higher than a ML.

And it's up to the hands of Magsayo now, becoming the betting favorite equates to him bettors putting fate on his skills and power. So still have a week to go, and maybe at the weigh-in we will see how well train and prepared he is. A body shot might be a good strategy because Vargas is taller.

Yeah, I check the odds so there's no more movement, just interesting that once Magsayo becomes the favorite, there is little to no movement at all, but as I have said, I'm not surprised that Magsayo is now the favorite.

Good point, we never discusses how he can work Vargas body to soften him up. So he shouldn't head hunt in the beginning, just target the body and see how Vargas will react in the middle of the rounds and if the knockout presents itself because Vargas has weaken because of those body shots then he can go for it.

While the Bulls,  offer Zach Lavine a 5 year max contract.

Quote
The two-time All-Star and Olympic gold medalist said Friday he has agreed to a new deal with the Bulls. LaVine will be signing a five-year max contract worth about $215 million, according to a person with direct knowledge of the terms who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the pact cannot be signed until next week by league rule.

So heto na nga yung pinag uusapan natin dati sa Jazz, si Rudy Gobert,  Sources: Utah Jazz trading star center Rudy Gobert to Minnesota Timberwolves for four first-round picks. Na trade na nga sya papuntang T'Wolves kapalit ng

Quote
Jazz receive: Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Walker Kessler, Jarred Vanderbilt, Leandro Bolmaro, a 2023 first-round pick, a 2025 first-round pick, a 2027 first-round pick (all unprotected) and a top-5 protected 2029 first-round pick

So si Pat Beverley biyahe na naman papuntang Jazz. Samantalang si Towns naman ay may formidable na team mate na sa gitna.
4433  Economy / Gambling / Re: Disgusting beitsler on: July 01, 2022, 11:57:22 PM
Lol, I don't think we can do anything about the situation here. He already made the decision when he attack bitsler because he think that he was cheated. And then gave us proof, so it's really up to us whether to believed him or not.

We told him the recourse he needs to do, make an official scam accusation and maybe bitsler will respond there and see who is telling the truth and who is lying.
4434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inherited gambling on: July 01, 2022, 11:35:12 PM
I know we are greatly influenced by the environment we are born into and sometimes become gamblers because of where we find ourselves, i also considered the possibility of gambling being hereditary and found out that it is also possible, that is gambling can be hereditary ,
Quote
Gambling is linked to a gene that is passed on through generations and a new study claims that it is passed on to both sons and daughters alike.
now come to think of it since it is difficult to escape our genetic makeup,
- Would you blame an individual who becomes addicted to gambling because it is wired to his DNA?

It is really wired to our genetic make up? because if it is then maybe parents that are addicted to drugs might have a child that is going to be addicted as well, but that is not the case.

-Can their gambling problem be put in check by regular methods?

Of course, it can be check, but everything should come from the individual themselves.

-Will the addiction be worse than someone who picked up the habit?

Boils down again the individual, so it might be different and there are no "one size fits all approach" here. Maybe seeking professional help is the best idea. Or simply control yourself. But it will take a lot of emotions on someone just to get out of their gambling addiction. But definitely it is doable.
4435  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How certain are you that cryptocurrency will experience more parabolic bull runs on: July 01, 2022, 11:15:04 PM
How do you see the risk of cryptocurrency right now?

It's always been risky ever since bitcoin started to have a value. Not just because it is very volatile, there are also the scammers, hackers and all cyber threat actors.

Are you confident that cryptocurrency will recover, and when do you think that will happen?

It's not how you are confident for recovery, you just have to look at its previous history and see it for yourself. As others have said, we are in a cycle, unfortunately, we are now in the bear market so it might be a long and hard grind till next year. And again, as its previous trend, usually the recovery starts after the bitcoin block halving process. And this activity will occur sometime early 2024. So count a couple of months after that, maybe we can see some semblance of recovery then and probably the eventual bull run.
4436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna - July 19 on: July 01, 2022, 10:51:11 PM
Tank and Davis since both two have the belts, is the target of Garcia.
Tank and Davis? it must be a typo error as we are only talking of one person here, and it's Tank Davis.
Yes, Garcia is targeting him, in fact he wants to beat Fortuna early so he can proceed with the big fight.

Ryan Garcia: I’m a better fighter under Joe Goossen, I’ll stop Javier Fortuna early and move on to Gervonta Davis

What I meant is Haney, hehehe.

Still very young but want to accomplished more at his age. And he has the tools to do that, just needed to be sharpen and focus on his boxing than his social media antics.
Exactly, he needs to train hard and beat the best in the division he wants to reign, it's okay to make some noise in social media as long as he can get the result he promised.

Just a wrong matchup with Emmanuel Tagoe that's why he wasn't impressive. But against Fortuna, as I have said, I seeing him winning by knock out. I guess the social media can't be removed on Ryan now, he seems to thrive on it. But as you have said, he need to bring results in his fight first.
4437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: July 01, 2022, 10:05:27 AM
So that's how quickly the odds are changing in this fight. And I'm thinking there could be changes here, maybe Magsayo will become the favorite after all as money are going to pour on his side.

But then again, let's look for more betting options as others suggested, specially Magssayo by KO or what rounds is he going to get the KO.

Update: Magsayo - 1.90, Vargas - 1.80

As I have predicted, Mark is now the favorite in this fight,

from Stake.com

So again, I'm not surprised, smart money should be on the side of Magsayo here. And I think he will retain his favorite status leading up to the fight night. I doubt that there will be changes, on the contrary, Mark could end up in the 1.7x odd as the favorite and then Vargas 1.9x underdog.
4438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna - July 19 on: July 01, 2022, 09:30:59 AM
If he beat Fortuna he should force his promoters to fight Tank because Tank is always ready to fight anybody.

That would be a nice treat for us, Garcia vs Tank Davis, such a big fight that every fan would not miss to watch. I think if that fight will happen, I can already expect a KO, either from Garcia or Davis, but most likely Davis will get the KO if Garcia is not fully focus in the fight.

Of course, everyone wants to see that fight but he has to beat Fortuna first, and not just a win but should be a big win so his promoter will be convinced that their fighter is ready to face Tank Davis. Though I believe that Garcia might be the underdog against Davis, but I think the value is on him because he has the height advantage and in terms of speed, he also has that.

He will be tested once he passed to Fortuna with a very convincing win, a Knockout will keep him near to his promoters to call for Davis, and we all know how ready Davis in every fight he have for sure he will be more likely accept if challenge will be offer to him. A good offer or contract will do for both fighters after accomplishing this upcoming fight against Fortuna.

True, this is going to be a big test for Garcia, and I'm seeing him winning over Fortuna wit a convincing fashion here. He has slowly gaining his confidence back and this might be the one to convince his doubters.

Even it's just a possible next fight, for sure it will gain interest since Garcia can bring entertaining fight against Tank!

Tank and Davis since both two have the belts, is the target of Garcia. Still very young but want to accomplished more at his age. And he has the tools to do that, just needed to be sharpen and focus on his boxing than his social media antics.

4440  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin (BTC) Crash To $13K After The Fed Rate Hike? on: July 01, 2022, 09:02:18 AM
Bitcoin was created to be deflationary, so any increase in the inflation rate of fiat should naturally make people adopt Bitcoin more. If it's not happening according to the design of bitcoin we might as well believe the Feds news didn't have an effect on bitcoin whatsoever.

With what is going on, we can see bitcoin is still not out of the game. Bitcoin is one of the asset classes that is rated as a risk asset so I believe it will be greatly affected by the Fed, every time interest rates increase, assets like bitcoin and stocks move in the direction of the trending decrease rather than increase.
Bitcoin was created with a maximum supply as a hedge against inflation but that is not really possible right now because of the volatility and risk it brings.

Even stocks will be affected by any news of a Fed rate hike not just crypto. It's that the crypto market is so volatile that it will react more pronounce as this is not regulated, there could be sellers, manipulators who are trying to take advantage of the news and then speculators and investors filling up their bags.

So it's just a matter of time what numbers we will fall if there is a new fed rate hike. But always remember that bitcoin can bounce back from all of this and we are far from being out of the game.
