Money stuck in Paypal so has to be spent Smiley

What do you mean by 'stuck'?

I heard that sometimes they don't allow people to withdraw back their money (or they suspend accounts and it takes up to 180 days), why's that, is that your case?

Oh I don't know. I'm 60 and use the name "Dulloldfart" elsewhere online and am not afraid of the odd risk or two. That's not to say that I'm about to take up parkour but I don't mind investing some time and money into bitcoin.

Glad to hear that, sorry for the overgeneralization then  Grin
4445  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Can you share your experience with a failing PSU? on: July 21, 2011, 02:53:17 PM
Recently my Corsair VX550 died. First I had random reboots every 12-24h, then one day it died completely, 2 pins on the 24pin cable fried (plastic had melted too), the motherboard socket where the 2 pins were connected is also a bit burned, but fortunately it works fine with a TX 850 V2 that I just bought.

I think the overload might've killed it - hd6850 and 2x hd5850, all 3 overclocked by 10-15%, 2 hdd, q9300 @ 3.25 GHz, 1.25V
but anyways - this shouldn't have happened, I thought better of Corsair, and the PSU was only 2 years and 8 months old (mining 24/7 only for a month).

If you don't need this hardware - sell it, it's worth a lot of money, you'll be able to buy plenty of GPUs for that and earn something like 10 BTC / day, if not more ;]

Yea, fuck the wiser, more experienced people.  Young and dumb is the best foundation for any movement!

Old farts aren't willing to take risks because they have much more to lose and are too afraid of doing so...
The young and dumb lack experience and are not afraid to lose because they have much less to lose and aren't fully aware of it... and they're usually more ambitious.  Cheesy

Fixed. And still using Windows! Apparently CCC 11.6 doesn't work with SDK 2.1, so I'm using 11.6 and 2.4.

ASAIK HD6000 wont work on sdk 2.1

Can you post your opinion on:

Last save  GPU temperature °C.                       :  ?

Optimal temperature °C  for GPU running 24/7   :   ?

Optimal fan fan speed %                                  :  ?

Under 100C but many cards will work fine at 105 or more.

Under 80C (my GPUs are 76-77C, 74C and 71C - 6850 O/C 10% and 5850s O/C 10%).

No more than 60-70%, (I'm running 70%, 67% and 62%), but it depends on the fan, some are pretty noisy)

My Vertex 3D (it's made by Powercolor) HD 6850 came with no molex -> PCI-E connector, but both of my Sapphire HD 5850s came with 2 each.
4454  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: dual 5850 causing nearly 100% cpu use?!?!? on: July 06, 2011, 09:20:35 PM
Got the same problem, got with 2 5850s and a 6850
with 1 5850 and 1 6850 I didnt have this problem on phoenix, only on poclbm
after adding 2nd 5850 1st core has got 100% load. :/
4455  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: GUI mining - Phoenix 1.5 and new, faster poclbm on: July 06, 2011, 07:38:12 PM
Can you try inserting the card into another PCI-E slot?

Today I had to switch my HD 5850s (both the same, just put gpu#1 into pci-e slot where gpu#2 was, and gpu#2 - vice versa), because my PC froze 2 mins after starting up. It's working fine for 6h now.

Wow, just wow.
OP buys mining rig and hasn't even researched or understood the concept of difficulty levels before hand.

Fucking golf clap good sir.

 Roll Eyes

This is what I did when I bought another 2 GPUs (5850s) to my PC (only had a 6850 be4), but I don't regret it, mining is still profitable with 0.9 Ghash/s.

Ok, thanks, problem fixed, but now I have a different one. :p

My 5850 miner (on phoenix) doesn't seem to be accepting any shares (it shows "0 (0)"), but when I login to slush, I am actually getting some shares accepted - but I also get some rejected.

It looks like this:

Prevoius guiminer, apart from phoenix connection problems, ran fine for me.

I downloaded the newest one today (and deleted all files from previous versions), and when I wanted to run it I got the message 'Errors occured: see the logfiel xxx for details'

This is the log file, anyone know what's wrong?

EDIT: just tried back the previous version.... and it doesnt work either!
I'm running a HD 5850 and HD 6850 atm, going back to stock settings doesn't help.
OS: Win 7 Pro 64-bit SP1
mobo: Asus P5Q-E

EDIT_2: all right, managed to run it if I don't click 'ok' on the error message, and after I switch from Phoenix to poclbm
Anyone can help? I'd really like to be able to run phoenix againa, because poclbm is too heavy for my CPU (Q9300@3.25) - 25% load.

lol, $300 for 2 5830s would be a lot.
... and you are asking $300 for only one HD 5850.

Good luck, then.
