OP, may i ask how much you earn per month and how much you would be willing to invest to proof without a doubt (!!) that flat earth is real and everything else a hoax?

There are several methods of doing so depending on how much money you are willing to spend.

Put your money where your mouth is!

This thread is about rockets and fraud. Like the fraud perpetrated on the British taxpayer by the Royal Aircraft Establishment with their BLACK ARROW rocket program in the 1960's.

That is fine no problem.
But don't you want to answer my questions? If you dont want to do it in public you could also send me a pm.
4442  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Does replacement interact with quantum computers? on: January 24, 2016, 02:24:18 PM
My understanding was that RBF doesn't let you change the tx other than effectively its fee (i.e. inputs could be added but not outputs) - did I miss something?

Last i read you should be able to change the whole tx which was kinda problematic because of double spending.

I dont see a link between broken ecdsa and rbf.

Of course everyone is mostly right but it still doesnt change the forum rules.
I really dont recall any scams that got busted by the forum staff (in the last 2 years)
It is usually the community itself that makes it public and the perpetrator gets negative trust.
4445  Other / Meta / Re: Hacked, cracked, carded... bitcointalk - home of scumbags on: January 23, 2016, 08:16:32 PM
sup,

by looking at the digital goods section i see a ton of "stuff" (most likley accounts) that were somehow obtained in a non legal way. just for the fun i reported 3 of those theads, nothing happend. i contacted a mod, twice, no reply.

So i think its okay selling stolen stuff on bitcointalk, while half of the forum is crying about getting scammed when dealing with other people. seems legit. in my opinion its pretty clear why this forum is full of scum, because we dont do anything about it.

i am not complaining, i just had the feeling i would feel better when i post about it.

greetings

EDIT: and yes i tried to get a vouch copy on one of that offers to see what will happen. i also contact a stupid seller that posted an account password to see how he would react. of course, nothing happend.

Forum doesnt moderate scams. You never saw the ponzi sub?

I think/hope our egoistic society is developing into a sharing society soon.

Effiency-wise it is terrible for a single person to own a car just for himself.

I hope in a timeframe of 20 years that majority of people will use carsharing services and so on.
4447  Economy / Speculation / Re: Expect Bitcoin Price to Reach US$1,200 or More Next Year on: January 23, 2016, 05:45:25 PM
On the off chance that we do hit an ATH this year, I think it's going to be pretty short lived.  The last bubble got a ton of media attention, and the casual investors that bought in at a high amount are going to be looking to unload like there's no tomorrow.  Steady growth up to maybe the 800 range is possible, maybe a bubble that takes it there and back down, or a plummet back to sub-300 (most likely more than one of those), but I don't think a ATH is in our future soon.

You are talking about December 2013.

Most of the ppl who bought at the top already sold.
If they waited until now they will wait until new ath.

4450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New, faster browser with integrated BTC micropayments on: January 22, 2016, 07:57:34 PM
The more applications in the way of bitcoin the better. But I don't think the majority of people using the internet for their daily browsing will have much interest in this as it does do much for them.
If they implemented a faucet like thing for using it, then I can see it appealing to people who don't use bitcoin at the moment. Sort of like an introduction to the bitcoin world with giving you a satoshi per site you surf  Cheesy

I think some of you got a bit wrong picture. Brave will not strip publishers completely from ad revenue, nor will it remove all the ads. Not sure how exactly will that work, but as per arstechnica:

Quote
In exchange, Brave will take a 15 percent cut of the ad revenue. Instead of using tracking cookies that follow you around the Internet, Brave will use your local browsing history to target ads.
...
Of the remaining ad revenue, 55 percent will go to the publisher and 15 percent will go to the ad supplier. Curiously, the last 15 percent will be returned to the user, which they can then use to make micropayments to their favourite websites.

Obviously the publishers won't love it, but there's still an incentive for them (and not to block users who use Brave). And if those 15% for users will be converted and distributed in BTC - that's a pretty good news. What Bitcoin economy is lacking the most at the moment imho is not enough users earning BTC in any way. This could be small step ahead.

exactly this.

basically it makes every site a possible faucet (i cant remember the last time i saw a website without ads)

4454  Economy / Economics / Re: Oil Prices Slump to 11-Year Lows in Asia and Europe on: January 18, 2016, 09:20:27 AM
The oil has dropped below $30 recently. It will drop further when the Iran oil flush the market. Bitcoin is a safe heaven now.

Iran is pumping real hard with their oil. I think at some point we might even see the oil price fall to possibly $20!! Supply is extremely high while the demand is just at normal levels. It's good for the normal people since 1 liter of petrol here "just" costs €1.30 right now.

Still the petrol/diesel price is too damn high considering the actual price of oil and the same goes for energy, public transportations and so on.
My question is why they don't level with the new oil price? That's something that worries me, it seems like "big" players are expecting something before deciding to level other prices as well.

Tax and greed for profit.
These days i saw 30 cent price differece for the same brand of gasoline at two different gasoline stations.
To be precise it was a aral and a bft station.

the American Media Didn’t Report on This One?! Chinese Lunar Rover Finds No Evidence of American Moon Landings
From World News Daily Report:

Beijing – Top officials of the Chinese Space Program have expressed their feelings that the American moon landings “were a complete hoax” reports the Beijing Daily Express.

200 high-ranking officials from the Chinese Space Program have signed a petition asking explanations from the American government and the release of classified NASA information concerning the American moon landings that would prove to the World that the moon landings were not an elaborately orchestrated hoax to fool the World about America’s space program capabilities.

These allegations have come up through recent analysis of pictures taken from the Chinese moon rover that allegedly found no traces of the American moon landings existing on the moon.

World renowned Russian nuclear engineer Yury Ignatyevich Mukhin has also signed the petition as well as a dozen other top Russian engineers and ex-KGB agents claiming the Russian Government “had always been aware of the situation since the early 1970′s”

...

So there is the once in the life opportunity for soviet russia to shit directly on the face of their archenemy USA and they do.... nothing for the next 45 years?  Shocked

Silvesternacht in Köln: Polizei hält massenhafte Übergriffe nicht für geplant

http://www.spiegel.de/panorama/justiz/uebergriffe-in-koeln-polizei-sieht-keine-hinweise-auf-organisierte-taten-a-1071476.html

I've watched this video a few times. Dr. Salerno mentions that he buys/sells bitcoins on an exchange that stores Fiat currency (in my case, USD) as digital tokens. Does anyone know of a credible exchange that currently offers this?

I know that coinbase is working on offering a wallet that stores USD as tokens, so that you can buy and sell instantly, but this is not offered in my region (North East US - Connecticut).

The trouble I currently have with arbitrage, particularly through coinbase, is that it is not viable for me. Theoretically: If I pay attention to the news and I read that an exchange got hacked (i.e. cryptsy) I know that this will cause panic, and as fear grips the market people will sell and the price of bitcoin will drop. I may want to sell my Bitcoin, temporarily, to minimize any loses, and then buy back bitcoin at a cheaper price the next day. The problem with Coinbase is that with my current limitations, if I sell my Bitcoins, I have to wait 5 days for the money to be deposited into my bank. During this time the money is in "Limbo," so to speak, and I cannot use the funds to buy back coins at a cheaper price the following day. Furthermore, there are buy limits placed on my bank account, so it may take me a week or more to buy back the coins that I sold even if I keep additional funds available in the bank. During this time the market shifts drastically, and in order to be successful in arbitrage, you need access to instant buy & sale.

Storing FIAT as digital tokens seems like the only way to do this. I know that there is an inherent risk in doing so, but it would only be temporary until the market adjusts. Can anyone recommend a reputable exchange that can accommodate this in my region (Connecticut, USA)?

Look at bitfinex and bitstamp although i still advice to be careful as with all other btc exchanges.
Btw. This is the german sub forum you might wanna ask in service discussion or general discussion.
4458  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bill is not freaked out by Mike Hearn. Bill is smart. Be like Bill. on: January 16, 2016, 06:47:55 PM
Who's Bill? You mean Bill Gates?

In that case price per btc would be atleast an order of magnitude higher ^_+
4459  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 16, 2016, 06:37:52 PM
The volatility IMO is due entirely to the hard fork. A big player (likely miner) sold at 450 because they know what is coming.

The most obvious explanation is Mike's ragequit, which got wide exposure in the media (NYT, Motherboard, TechCrunch, Reuters, ...)  It was also commented in Chinese forums

I can't think of any other suiltable explanation for the sudden drop.

That's because of your astounding ignorance of economics.

If you ever looked up from your Buttcoin forums, and glanced at say Bloomberg TV, you'd notice there has been an ongoing meltdown in world financial markets since New Years Day.

The Big Money that moves the BTC price is selling to cover losses, and/or take advantage of opportunities in other oversold sectors.

Last time i checked btc had a marketcap of 6.5 billion.
Stocks, commodities etc are in triple digit trillions. ( trillions!)
Covering losses what?

Imho Mike ragequit is much more likely
