4441  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is not mainstream yet & my suggestions! on: September 05, 2015, 05:15:30 PM
I consider myself a bitcoin intellectual, and I`m always wondering how can I help the bitcoin economy with my ideas, which I got plenty of. So I was thinking 2 days about why bitcoin (or for that matter other altcoins) is not mainstream yet, and what issues it needs to overcome to be able to grow faster. Some issues that I discovered are practical, while others need the entire community's support in order to work.

So here are the issues I discovered with bitcoin, it's economy, why it is not mainstream yet:

I think your points are valid but the main issue with bitcoin achieving mainstream adoption is just sadly the general public have no use or desire to use bitcoin. To them it offers them nothing worth taking the time to acquire it. I think over time some industries will adopt it but it's going to take time. Even things like computers the internet and mobile phones didn't become mainstream over night and we will have a similar journey.

I dont think they dont have a desire, they do but they either dont care enough yet (due to laziness or lack of marketing stimulus) or they dont know about it / dont understand it.

This is not like we are inventing the wheel here, we already got a financial system, bitcoin is just an upgrade.

Its like you replace your old black & white phone with touch-screen smartphone. It was done in less than 10 years, and no new phone was invented, only the old phone was upgraded.

I don't really think this is a worthy comparison and is very extreme. It's like swapping your phone for a slightly different model but one that doesn't benefit you at all so you think why bother. This is how most people will feel because bitcoin doesn't really offer my parents or grandparents anything at all. Why would they benefit from using it currently? Sure it's great for the politically minded and us but for every one else it's probably just a liability and unnecessary.

What do you mean it doesnt benefit us at all?

Bitcoin is better in any shape or form that the current banking system.

The only issue i see for consumers is the lack of stores accepting it + the points I addressed in post #1 which is tied o point 1) somewhat.

Yes they wont use it if they cant spend it, and its hard to buy with all the KYC requirements, but other than that its much better in any aspect.

I know people are dumb and lazy, thats why we need to address my point, and with that we can overcome the inertia of the masses.
4442  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Special trains for ‘rude’ Chinese on: September 05, 2015, 05:05:38 PM
That is what happens when you get too much communism in your head.

Have to disagree with you here. The Arabs are one of the rudest people in the earth, and they were never ruled under communism. And if you have ever visited Cuba (one of the last communist countries remaining in the world right now), you will be surprised to see how friendly the people are. IMO, it is the sudden creation of wealth, which makes people rude.

I disagree there, wealth makes people happy and free, wich boosts their mood and become friendly.

I`ve been to rich people for dinner and they are the kindest people of them all. I went to a friends house for dinner and their parents were always bickering over basic stuff.

If you dont believe just go into a ghetto and ask for a cup of sugar from your neighbors, they will not welcome you very friendly.

Sorry but comunism is a mental disorder.

You do realise that even mainland Chinese don't consider themselves as being "communist" (and they haven't considered themselves as such for at least 35 years)?

It is very funny for anyone who actually knows about China to hear "westerners" still saying today that they are communist.

They aren't (and if you don't know that *then you are a brainwashed westerner*).

In regards to their overseas tourists I think that Aussies in Bali or Thailand don't really have a better reputation (and I am an Aussie).

Communism is not just economic theory, it creates a social/cultural enviroment.

Since every person is equalized, people cant get to a civilized debate, everyone is rude and angry. Most people work in low paying shitty jobs, that adds extra frustration, low self esteem and unhappiness. Plus the constant stress under totalitarianism is making people verry selfish and unhappy.

People get ordered around, they dont have a personal identity, they are just the shackled slaves with no persona or spirit in them, they are just tools for the collective that is siphoning away their creativity and life energy.

I lived in a communist country so i know this from experience.

http://q13fox.com/2015/02/27/investigators-say-teen-coaxed-friend-to-commit-suicide-then-tweeted-how-much-she-missed-him/

I am absolutely disgusted by this. This woman believes that men are nothing but disposable tools meant to end their lives in order to provide her with sympathy and attention from her peers. Michelle Carter should kill herself.

"Days prior to Roy’s suicide, Carter was allegedly telling her friends “it’s her fault that Conrad is dead, even though he was still alive and speaking and texting with her regularly,” police said.

South Coast Today reported that on July 11, 2014, Carter texted a friend saying she couldn’t locate Roy and was “a mess,” then an hour later texted Roy and allegedly said, “Let me know when you’re gonna do it.” "

Guys really need to man up and see how women are really are, that girl was just a narcissistic egomaniac with no feelings.

I know some nice girls that are kind and helpful, but there are these sluts who just fuck around and want to steal your money and life power.

Just ignore these vampires, and let them starve without attention, narcissists will starve without attenton, so let them.
4444  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Two-year-old Chilean boy abandoned by his drunk mother breastfed by pregnant dog on: September 05, 2015, 04:54:25 PM
The CPS is a joke in most of the countries. In nations such as Norway, they take away children from their real parents and then place in foster care, for the most silliest of the reasons. Recently, there was an incident in Oslo, where a kid was taken away from his parents for repeatedly (3rd time in a month) taking "unhealthy food (i.e chicken burgers)" in this lunch box. And when the kids are suffering in cases where the parents are junkies or alcoholics, the CPS is nowhere to be seen.

Well the cure for abusive parents is education and punishment.

CPS is probably the worse case scenario that could happen, because if you take away a kid for eating unhealthy food, and then you give it to pedophiles (which more adopters are) will not help that kid at all.

Abortion is not a solution either since it makes women more irresponsible because they dont have to deal with the consequences, and can go fuck around without any consequences.
4445  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Study: Everyone hates environmentalists and feminists on: September 05, 2015, 04:45:28 PM
I like enviromentalists, but not if they are too pushy, for example they should focus curbing the big polluter corporations, and not to push more fucking green taxes on me.

Feminists are on the other hand really bad, it is a marxist/hegelian agenda of divide and conquer, and make males submissive and obedient to women.

It's not like reason and evidence matters when you talk about religions. So i doubt it will "destabilize" anything.

There are plenty of scientific proofs & evidences that dismiss the bible yet still 90% of western people are christians.

Isn't Mars One a scam?

https://medium.com/matter/mars-one-insider-quits-dangerously-flawed-project-2dfef95217d3

This comedian made a funny video for the application and she was approved.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j59NyrhiDiA

Wow it looks to me as a ponzi scheme with the "point" system and the "75% of profits donate back to us".

Looks like scammers find very innovative ways to scam people.

Sometimes people can sink lower than animals.

Some loudmouth ,  drunk   and idiot women gets fucked by the first guy he meets, then she is obviously not prepared for the pregnancy, she continues her early abusive life.

What a degenerate scum is that? Uncaring + fully retarded to make a baby when she is obviously not fit for it.
4449  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Special trains for ‘rude’ Chinese on: September 05, 2015, 04:18:57 PM
These mainland Chinese are infamous for their rude behavior. If you visit countries such as Hong Kong and Singapore, this can be very evident. Although both these nations are overwhelmingly ethnic Chinese, they regard the mainlanders (i.e the ethnic Chinese from the People's Republic of China) as arrogant and rude.

That is what happens when you get too much communism in your head.

Communism instead of bringing everybody together, and creating an utopia, it creates a slave class which is deprived of spiritual and life energy, and creativity.

It makes you rude, angry, desperate, low self esteem, and no respect for others, and on top of that a mindless drone that does what its told.

Sorry but comunism is a mental disorder.
4450  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Migration crisis: Germany presses Europe into sharing refugees on: September 05, 2015, 04:15:57 PM
This is when socialism gets out of control.

This is socialism on steroids guys.

First they steal from middle class people to subsidize poor class people, and in the result make poor everybody while the rich gets richer.

Then they steal money from middle income countries, so subsidize people from poor countries, and in the end they make everybody poor there except the few corporations that profit from the low wage workers.
4451  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did you earn some bitcoin today? on: September 05, 2015, 04:04:29 PM
I did, I gambled a bit on satoshidice:  http://satoshidice.com

I earned ~0.04 BTC in total, it was a nice gamble Cheesy

it seems these days you're lucky Smiley it looks like you have a good trick too. What tricks do you use? martingale?

I dont really gamble usually, but this time i made an exception as i was bored, so it turned out really good in the end.

No i didnt used martingale i just picked low odds ~15% with 6x payout then i got a winning streak and i ended up with 0.04 BTC Smiley

good results, be careful you will be addicted after a big win at gambling. usually like that and it was happening to me  Grin

Well it wasnt a huge win, plus i`m a disciplined person, so its no problem.

usually people get greedy when they have a consecutive win-spree, but i dont.
4452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin v. Bitcoin on: September 05, 2015, 04:01:44 PM
Litecoin is a backup for bitcoin, as i view it.

If bitcon gets fucked by this blocksize debate, the most likely litecoin will take its place.

All merchants can easily integrate litecoin just like bitcoin, so the transition would be very fast.

Agree. Is a lifeboat. And a "second best" or several of them is a normal thing, and they use to survive to and even they get equal or surpass the first idea. Facebook - Google +, Coke - Pepsi, iOS - Android ... etc.

Bitcoin will hardly survive alone. It is very likely that other alts would do it too, and litecoin is a very likely one.

Well if the blocksize debate turns out bad, then the litecoin guys will know what not to do.

Bitcoin is the biggest crypto, but its also the lab-rat that is being tested for this new technology, so its risky to hold it.

Thats why i diversified my portfolio in the coins i have next to my avatar to get an idea how to manage risk in crypto
4453  Economy / Economics / Re: Just wanted to post the break down of my investments on: September 05, 2015, 03:57:32 PM
Well 33% portfolio is not good.

You should risk less than 5% on each investment category and less than 2% on each investment program.

Dont be cowboys guys, bitcoin is risky, and due to scams it even riskier, so be careful with the investments guys!

I think buying Bitcoin monthly with about 10% of your salary (if its rather decent a bit more) it's not risky, in fact, it's what you should be doing. If you don't buy Bitcoin now you are missing on the opportunity to be a super early investor in one of the most interesting technologies in decades. Im sure everyone can find 10% of money monthly that would rather spend on Bitcoin than in other stuff like alcohol or drugs, so you get healthier and make BTC on the side.

I know a guy who already spent 60,000€ on cigaretes, if he would have invested that in bitcoin we would be all better off, and he would not die in 5-10 years in painful lungh cancer.

But oh well, i guess he likes lungh cancer more than bitcoin.
4454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proposal to add Bitcoin symbol to Unicode on: September 05, 2015, 03:51:38 PM
If Unicode adds BTC, a small company could sell a keyboard with a BTC key and market it to Bitcoin users.  I'd pay .2BTC for one.

Now that's something creative  Grin

I support this project! Is there something I/the community can do to support the project? Smiley

Perhaps he should put his bitcoin address up for donation, or create an account at https://www.changetip.com

If he suceeds he really deserves some donations.
4455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling. Is It Wrong? on: September 05, 2015, 03:48:16 PM
hello everyone.
i want to know what do you think about gambling bitcoin.. Does Beneficial or more losses?
Share your story here guys!  Grin Grin Grin
If you have already started to gamble and are addicted, just try to control yourself..  Its hard to quit but not impossible.
I suggest you to rather take a walk or meet your friends rather than wasting your precious time and money.

If you haven't started to gamble, cool. You haven't gambled and you shouldn't gamble...
If you know that the house wins at the last, why spend time+money on gambling Wink

Learn the lesson before its too late Smiley

Because if you are disciplined and can stop, you can end up winning a jackpot and walking away with it.

The house wins the last, but that doesnt mean that it wins every time, its a luck based game, some people win, some people lose

4457  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is not mainstream yet & my suggestions! on: September 05, 2015, 03:13:55 PM
You can't go big promoting Bitcoin to mainstream while network can't handle a significant amount of users. Apart from that Bitcoin imo is working flawlessly.

Then we need to resolve the blocksize debate ASAP.

But even after that, new users won't just spawn out of nowhere and make bitcoin a global currency overnight. They will join us slowly, but for bitcoin to really kickoff we need my issues to be resolved too.

Especially point 2) that i made, that one is very critical.

Most guys are for-profit here, and not everyone is a speculator/investor, most people join from poor places and want to earn bitcoin by their labour & skills, and not by buying/investing it.

You mean something like http://fiatleak.com

Is fiatleak only counting the buy orders? Or the net change in realtime?

Because if it counts only buy orders then it sucks, because the same amount of sell orders happen too (thats why the price doesnt change), so its very misleading.

I've posted this before and got told once that that website is not very accurate and was somewhat "rigged". Could someone explain exactly why fiatleak.com is not legitimate? i've tried to find a good explanation for this but I can't find anything convincing, it seems pretty legit to me, its just taking data from the exchanges right?

I didnt said that its not legitimate, i said it's misleading.

Becuase it only counts BUY orders, but not SELL orders.

If one guy buy 1 BTC, but then sells it at other price, then the net change is +0 BTC, but this site shows it as +1.

If the BTC buy orders would grow by that much, then the price would move up too. The only reason why BTC price is not growing is because the same amount gets bid up than asked down.
4460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What vision do you have for bitcoin's blockchain on: September 05, 2015, 02:14:19 PM

In a perfect world this could work, however ID theft online is very common nowadays, a private key does not prove that you are the real owner of the private key. That's the reason when you register at an exchange you must submit both id documents and invoice to your permanent residence, in some case you have to hold your passport to take a photo, in order to prove that you are the owner of the passport

But its still more secure than the current systems. Some sites require copy of ID, photo holding in your hands, utility bills ,etc.

But some sites only require your ID code, so somebody could take a loan in behalf of you just by knowing your ID, they can enlist you into school just by ID number, they can open a brokerage account just by knowing ID number, etc.

And the ID number is public, its not like the PIN code of your card that comes sealed in a black envelope. Basically anybody that held your ID card in your hand can do bad for you with it. The only thing that keeps them away of doing it is the threat of jail, but with more and more sophisticated criminals, i dont think the ID number should be fully public.

You should have at minimum a public key, but in order to authenticate that, you need to sign it with a private key.

This does not prove that you are the owner of it,but in any theft case, you can just modify it quickly, and then settle the problems with the authorities if you can find the bad guy who stole it.

================

It is not perfect, but it would be more efficient, and secure than current ID system with public info.

Same can be done with credit/debit cards, it's not like the card number is confidential, even if its says it is, how the fuck is it confidential if it's printed on the front of your debit card, that anybody can see or take a photo of when you use it?

I guess thats why Mastercard uses the 3D-Secure system, but thats still a very amateur addition to security.
