4441  Other / Meta / Re: Clarification of a rule, Can we get a managers board on: July 27, 2020, 05:18:08 AM
The gist of this thread can be linked to the question - Which one came first, the chick or the egg?  Grin

Of course the forum came first. Then came the signature campaigns mainly Primedice at one time and then came the concept of signature campaign managers.

While I detest the fact that PMing the project owner to get the manager to start a campaign for them, I would also point out that majority of campaigns are no longer the 1-2+ year long age old apart from CM, the casino signatures. The point is that if the project owners feel the need for publicity they will approach a manager first and not the reverse way.

Secondly the manager approaching the owner also makes the owner to a different stance: The owner thinks, lets try this marketing and see if it goes well for a few weeks. But this does not have immediate effects. The fact that this forum has given generous amount of traffic to many casinos is because the signatures ran here for several months to years. Just a couple of weeks will have very little spurt of traffic giving a false impression to the owners.

Again the need is important too. If the owners need marketing they are likely to run the campaign for long too. The side who is approaching first becomes important here both for the owners and the managers.

My point is that PMing the owner and dont get me wrong, "pitching" yourself to the manager has a bad long term effect for the campaign because of what I stated above it would not last long.

However I can understand the point of view of the manager and their enthusiasm in this regard but we must all remind ourselves that the forum came first and not the campaigns. It is a privilege that the administration allows these projects and it is not a right. Wink
4442  Economy / Exchanges / Re: in your opinion what would make you try to use a new cryptocurrency exchange? on: July 27, 2020, 05:07:41 AM
Quote
a) total exemption from purchase, sale and withdrawal fees.
How will the exchange run and make money then? Only from listing fees of coins? That would be a bad method to make money and probably such an exchange would only exist in a peasant dream. Grin

Quote
b) earn satoshis when creating your account
Another peasant dream. Giving welcome bonuses is not very important for an exchange compared to a casino.

Quote
c) being part of a millionaire organization
No millionaire organization would keep an affiliation with crypto as long as it is publicly stated or as long as bitcoin remains a grey area in the market. If governments legalize bitcoin and its transactions in most countries then we might be surprised to see many mainstream companies actually having backed some of the exchanges already known to us. For example Coinbase is a pretty big organisation and its exchange is thus affiliated to it.

Quote
d) be very secure in relation to users' funds
There is nothing called "very secure". It is either secure or insecure. And that is an inherent risk of using an exchange.

Quote
e) being able to use virtual money features to test
Testing the exchange is not getting much importance to me if you use their virtual (like a faucet) currency which is non-redeemable.

If you have to stand out, create an exchange that is allowing fiat to crypto without forcing a KYC and see the flood of users in that. Alas the side effect is that money laundering would also become rampant there and law enforcement would track you down, a double edged sword indeed. Roll Eyes
4443  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is This What is Called Professional? on: July 26, 2020, 07:31:19 AM
I guess this thread was moved from altcoins sections to Reputation and that is why the large number of replies.

OP, you can either of the following:

1. Use a secondary email for signing up for bounties. Do not use your personal email or work email.
2. Ask BountyDetective for modifying his work so that the email would not be published in the public spreadsheet.

Point is that email gathering and bulk email spamming is a normal marketing method, so option 1 is always better from your side.
4444  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Have we got any NFC wallets? on: July 26, 2020, 06:42:24 AM
Might be the case with specific mid-range phones. The latest flagships all ships with NFC, given the high adoption of Google Pay, Apple pay and Samsung Pay.
It is a mid-range phone. Cant afford a flagship at all considering the amount that goes to waste on phones every 2years. Yeah I am old school, I prefer to drag phones for more than 3years if possible. Grin

Quote
Even smart watches comes with NFC nowadays.
Not a fan of smartwatches at all. I still consider them as over consumption. Prefer the older watches, always!
4445  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: No seed, no password, but maybe some hope? on: July 26, 2020, 06:10:33 AM
So I have unfortunately lost both my seed and my wallet password
Think carefully if you can remember having stored a copy of the wallet password and private key. Maybe the seed passphrase was written somewhere? If not then there is little you can do. See what o_e_l_e_o [1] says and that might help.

Quote
But I do have 1x wallet receiving address written down, and I was wondering if that in any way can help me open my wallet?
It would not help. If that was so easy then people would not be sharing receiving addresses to get paid. Roll Eyes

[1]Typing your username is a pain in the rear. But I prefer to type than copy paste. Grin
4446  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Have we got any NFC wallets? on: July 26, 2020, 06:06:46 AM
The closest I have seen to contact-less transactions is using the QR code to pay. This is used not only in bitcoin wallets but may fiat payment systems and processors as well.

AFAIR, some smartphones were moving away from NFC Huh My previous Nokia phones used to have those but the current phone I have does not have NFC anymore. Not sure if some vulnerability was found in it.

Hoping to see more contact-less methods but lets not exaggerate this because of the pandemic, it is NOT the new normal. But new developments always welcome.

4448  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for DeFi startup partner on: July 25, 2020, 06:04:24 AM
I mean what exactly are you going to do yourself? Call the shots? Grin

You ask for a development lead, and you ask for the same person to finance the project's development? Are you that dumb to not understand that developers who are looking for jobs here and will probably be PMing you right away are not rich at all to be able to become venture capitalist whales themselves. That is exactly why they are here looking for small time jobs. Roll Eyes

First point, declare a budget for the development. Next start the development and separately start for fundraising attempts be it private or public. Keep it professional like that, have we forgotten basic business etiquette now? Roll Eyes
4449  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What are 2020's best websites for selling stuff for bitcoin? on: July 25, 2020, 05:58:33 AM
A lot of legitimate users actually visit this forum's marketplace too even if it lurks with loads of scammers, but considering you are well versed in tackling them it should not be a problem.

I would suggest keeping multiple avenues of approach. Check the sites suggested by the other users and see which one works out. Keep in mind that the forum is also a good place, so you could make a thread here and allow it to be linked to your seller profile on one of these sites and see if that helps.

The market for such side businesses is good so you should be able to to find buyers depending on what you are trying to sell.
4450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: People are complaining about airdrop/bounty earnings, something more profitable? on: July 25, 2020, 05:53:31 AM
Out of many bounty programs only some of them would turn out to the good projects and rest of them may not be a good one.
You mean 0.001% of the projects that are actually doing something good? Let me remind you that these ICO projects can never compete with their maintream counterparts simply because the economy is like that and there is no change as of now the acceptance of bitcoin and crypto in the economy on larger scales.

Quote
So, people should be good in picking such projects which will have a good price and demand in long term too.
This is a dumb statement. ICOs are not legal securities, it is a foolish decision to spend time on trying to find a needle in a haystack like that. Focus on bitcoin more and you will get better returns if you buy at low prices and also move to traditional markets for a change.

Quote
This is difficult for many of them and they end up investing in the wrong project and in the end loses their money.
Since they did not learn their lesson they deserve to face consequences. Roll Eyes
4451  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: July 25, 2020, 05:48:20 AM
I have heard that changing the client seed for every game which make your chances of winning more ?
To debunk this let us assume that the statement is true, Then if that was the case then somebody would have stolen all the bankroll of every casino out there. But that is not happening. So the assumption is likely a false one. Roll Eyes

Quote
Even in most of the winning strategies taught online, they say to change the seed after few games. Is there any logic in this ?
No logic behind it but it makes some people think that changing seeds makes the casino "forget" the previous rolls. This is also false because the probability of rolling a number is same on every roll. Your odds dont change after having rolled reds for a long time. This is also a part of the gamblers fallacy.
4452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty managers can do better on: July 24, 2020, 06:00:05 AM
I am grateful that there is still a good gift manager because it offers projects that are always original even though it also benefits at least the projects that are shared can be trusted.
Not sure you are trying to say, are you using a machine translation service to make your posts in English? If so I would suggest you to stick to your local boards before improving your command on English.

Yes there are good managers but there is a lack of projects that are legitimate. In general you should consider every project to be a waste of time and if they pay, then you got lucky - with that mentality you will never feel bad when you find out that you have wasted your time.

Even better if you stop taking part in bounties altogether.

Quote
well surely the new manager will have difficulty responding to sudden and many project submissions, especially what can be done besides accepting without clear conditions to make it easier to work,
What do you mean by "new manager" and whats your point? Your statements make no sense. Huh
4453  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Finding Altcoins With Potential on: July 24, 2020, 05:53:16 AM
To be honest, most coins in Binance have the potentials to give profit to their users.
Wrong. Honestly every altcoin is a token of a project that is going to fail in the long run. Each of those projects are unable to compete with their mainstream counterpart and thus they are failing to generate a market where there are buyers of that token. Without more money coming in to a trading place we wont see any growth. And the cause of that growth needs to be development of the project which is seriously lacking in almost every project that did a fund raising.

Quote
This was a great platform, I also used this BNB dex, aside from it was one of the top exchange in terms of its volume in the market, you will never regret to buy any coins to this platform as well believe me on these things.
No I dont, because I have used them and I know the truth. BNB is not something that one should put their money in. It is a disguised ponzi scheme. If you manage to sell at proper time good for you but not for the newer investors.
4454  Local / India / Re: BCT India for calling out Indian Scammers on: July 23, 2020, 06:19:43 PM
The words you used are quite strong mate, sometimes people get scammed just out of mishap. Don't be so judgemental.
Well scammers are intelligent and that is what makes them expert at scamming. They know how to approach a person specially a vulnerable person is one who has underwent a mishap or like during this time of crisis, targeting those who have been hard hit is going to have more possible victims than others.

It is mean thing to speak of I know but we must all understand that scammers take advantage of people's bad habits mainly greed and fear. But hoping to live normally without getting scammed even once is unlikely, because once you lose money you understand the importance of money and keeping it safe.

4456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots are better than Dice. on: July 23, 2020, 07:30:38 AM
Slots is purely luck based and with dice there is some level of strategy involved. With the right strategy it is possible to go much longer before going bust.
Dice is an EV- game and there is nothing called strategy in an EV- game. Strategy can be applied to EV+ games because your skills become important there like poker but in any EV- the long term outcome is a loss for the player. Unless you are wise enough to withdraw on a profit you will lose if you keep on playing. Most non-pvp games are all EV- and they are what most addicted gamblers are attracted too.

Sarcastically speaking, who wants to learn how to play poker when you can get that rush by losing money on dice or slots? Roll Eyes

Quote
I've seen dice players who have made millions of rolls and are still profitable
That is called survivorship bias. Read about it if you have not already. Few people who win cannot be compared to the million people who have lost.
4457  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: is it difficult to get a partner in cryptocurrency deals? on: July 23, 2020, 07:26:17 AM
does anyone know anyone who could be a participatory partner for a new platform?
Hedge funds and venture capitalists are not difficult to find if you know where to look into.

In case you are developing something that is having a value or a good market to pounce onto, you will get investors if you are pitching yourself properly. Remember that there are always people willing to pay to take part in a project that can be close to a big name in future but most of them wont stay for long if you are not giving out results regularly.

So the first thing to do is to develop the project and see how much attention it gains from start up enthusiasts in terms of being funded. You could do a survey for that as well.
4458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin dominance falling, time to bag in some alts? altcoin party? on: July 22, 2020, 06:19:19 AM
I think we should wait for a little bit of time to buy altcoins. The market is not fully recovered yet.
Market was recovering and staying at 6k pre-pandemic but now it is good that even after the pandemic the price touched 9k. Still the altcoins are recovering with time.

Quote
Right now I prefer to invest in BTC and ETH to see what's happening next. I believe there will be an altcoin bullish season later this year.
It might be easy money. The altcoin market has been continuously bearish or stagnant for years since the last big pump of 2017. A bullish trend this year is unlikely, but I hope for the best for any altcoin holders out there.

Talking about 50-50 chance mate, that's always a strong conviction to choose for because some altcoins has no volume for the main time.
They lack a lot of things not just volume. A long term profitable projects needs good development, intrinsic market making abilities and a process to spend their tokens so as to generate a demand from the market which drives the price upwards.

Quote
Only bitcoin has an active trading volume that's been consistent few months ago despite of the pandemic. Other new potential uprising coins and tokens still tried to compete, but not capable to come up with a better progress due to several factors.
I am not optimistic about the newcomer altcoins post-2017 at all. They have very little chance of surviving the next few years unless it is something groundbreaking and that is almost zero in the crypto economy.

Bigger development occur more in the mainstream sectors, sadly for now.
4459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "Poker Tournaments" are reopening little by little. on: July 22, 2020, 05:55:10 AM
Almost all sports events are gradually resuming as some countries are flattening the curve and making a huge adjustment to make gambling operational as much as possible.
With some players testing out positive only driving fans mad again. No wonder a number of celebrities have been lacking in their bad habits during the lockdowns.  Roll Eyes

Quote
Poker will never be the safest option for gambling since this requires players to physically and as much as possible we avoid physical contact to avoid the spread of the virus. So, I guess online gambling will be the safest option if you want to avoid the risk of getting infected.
You can play poker online too. They organize tournaments online as well. Of course physical poker games are not comparable with online games but it is what the gambler has to concede with because of the current situation, irrespective of whether they like it or not.

However the addicted gambler has no regards for the risk. They will continue to play as they wish till they end up getting sick. Roll Eyes
4460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin dominance falling, time to bag in some alts? altcoin party? on: July 22, 2020, 05:49:13 AM
With the bitcoin price being stable around 9k USD it is possible that people are moving to alts because of lack of volatility in bitcoin price.

Now the hypocrisy here is that because some nocoiners say that the volatility is the reason why they dont like bitcoin and then the same lack of volatility makes them move away from bitcoin too. I guess they dont want to put money in any cryptocurrency at all.

But the charts dont always point to what the possibilities are. It is a more of a 50-50 chance. Would not suggest buying altcoins at all unless you are very confident that they are going to go up in future, most of the time it is an inorganic pump.
