4441  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Issues with signature campaigns (historical). on: May 14, 2022, 07:13:31 AM
Don't really follow so not super familiar, but I do recall the adkinsbets campaign which ran for a week but actually resulted in weeks if not months of follow-on skullduggery of alts just making their rounds everywhere. Don't know the details.

But surely altcoin/ico/bounty type campaigns from 2017/18 era is worth mentioning? No quality control, no alt account checks, so people were paid in hundreds and thousands of worthless shitcoins that somehow could end up earning people tens of thousands of dollars when dumping was still possible. It was, to me, specifically this passage of signature campaigns that led to the massive forum clean up and merit system.

Sadly, I can still remember threads were people were just posting dumps of bot Tweets daily, "amazing project" "I will invest" posts etc. to get their "stakes".
4442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2021/2022 on: May 13, 2022, 06:00:00 PM
I personally don’t think that Klopp will prioritise winning the FA CUP, and I’m sure that he’ll be fielding a weaker team to make sure that none of his star player’s are injured before the champions league finals match, as he’s fielded a weak team before too in this competition. Also at this stage it’s fair to say that the race for premier league title is all but over, and with their eyes fixed on winning the champions league I don’t expect them to win this FA Cup finals match.
While that has been true, this is a final, and technically the quadruple could still very well be on. So, I think he goes for it. Unfortunately, Fabinho picked a injury up in the midweek game, which rules him out for this tie. So, he won't be featuring. If I had to go out on a limb I'd say Alison, Trent, Konate, Virgil, Robertson, Henderson, Thiago, Diaz, Mane, Salah, Keita, and then we might actually be looking at a Curtis Jones appearance.

I don't think originally the intention was to play Jones for this game, but with the injury to Fabinho the midfiled has to be shaken up a little bit. Also, Tsimikas played midweek which probably indicates Robertson will be playing on the weekend. I think that's a good enough team to win on the day, the reason I went with Konate instead of Matip is due to his pace, but Klopp might go with Matip. I think Matip in the Champions league final will probably make more sense, and we've got to try manage his fitness, as he is known to be a bit injury prone.

I'll be going for a 2-0 victory. I find Chelsea can be a bit starved for goals, and they lack that creativity, and cutting edge, although I was impressed with how Lukaku took his goal the other day.

Yeah, FA Cup's always had a weaker squad and we've seen our 2nd choice keeper and strikers especially do the job in earlier rounds but he put out what I felt was a strong squad for the semis, knowing also Pep could/would do the same.

This is a final, and an opportunity for a cup treble, plus it's a cup we haven't won since the Gerrard final. I'd say it's a prize well worth winning. Definitely Alisson, why not, Salah, for certain if not a bench 1st choice, I'd love to see Jones in there. He MIGHT experiment with Mina/Origi for a bit in lieu of Mane/Salah/Diaz/Jota and I believe Bobby's also a fit option.

I'm thinking 2-0 as well, one in each half, if not a 3-2 blazer like in the semis if we let Havertz get through our high line often. Play Lukaku and I'm not as worried tbh.
4443  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Breaks Bullish Trend Line? on: May 13, 2022, 05:28:12 PM
As I have said previously, this could be the capitulation if we reaches $20k at this down turn. Yeah, it will be hard and nasty for the majority and we really don't know if this will happen or not. So for now, we have somewhat in the $30k'ish again.  And maybe we won't see that day, but who knows, there are a lot of things happening globally that might affect the price negatively. But for now, if we goes above $30k, it is a good sign that the market selling pressure is over.

We don't really know anything, but that feels to me the more likely scenario than a recovery even to 40k, for the time being, anyway. Back below 30k on a weak rebound, I wouldn't say the pressure's over until we spend a few days at least above 30k. Weekend will be crucial to determine the outlook for the rest of the month but I wouldn't place my bets just yet.
4444  Economy / Speculation / Re: $28,000 Bitcoin price. How explain falling price to worried newbies ? on: May 13, 2022, 02:04:48 PM
Not making this up. Asked a small resto yesterday (a chain, so the owner wasn't even there) about their Bitcoin sign, thought they accepted it, but cashier said no, there was plans to do so, but it never really happened. Then asked me, you invest in Bitcoin? I said no, I do keep some from earnings, so more like a savings and alternate way of paying, and they were like "did you manage to sell at 70k???" and I said haha no, it was more like 68k but I didn't sell anything. "You must be so mad!". Yeah, maybe in 2017 I was a little upset I didn't take advantage. It was 20k then. Did you know it even went below 4k just a couple of years ago? And then now even you know it was almost 70k this year.

It goes like that! They said.

I said, yes indeed. It goes like that.
4445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 13, 2022, 01:36:22 PM
same here, hoped for a draw, seeing Arsenal in CL next season almost for sure
and did not think that there are chances for Arsenal to win tonight

and both teams are known that do not plays draws, while Tottenham already played one this weekend, with Liverpool, so no draw here
and still, I have put 1:1

to be honest, Everton situation last night frustrated me a bit, one of better matches lately, and could not score against Watford, hopefully, there will be a win against Brentford or Palace, to secure next Premier league season

Every missed outcome feels like a big loss right now at the top eh? Thought I was gaining, and I guess the yellow cap helped a lot but you guys been supremely good when you get it right.

Everton not scoring, definitely a bummer, but then, we all knew they're playing well below whatever standards you should expect from an EPL team. Agree they'll end up staying up though. Leeds throwing it all away like Arsenal, except they are doing it out of pure dumb frustration rather than pressure. Coach must be exiting too.
4446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC Fight Night & Main Event: Sportsbet.io Predictions & discussion on: May 13, 2022, 12:39:08 PM
I might actually tune in this weekend actually. Only got the one football game to watch (FA Cup final) and if I lose that bet, then I'm going to probably not sleep well. And the following day I have a huge 4 hours to myself, would feel like a long break from domestic duties.

Of course, if I can manage to stay up to 4am that would be a minor miracle these days.

Don't forget the predictions posted above.
4447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: WE NEED A HALL OF FAME? on: May 12, 2022, 10:13:43 PM
Yes, I enjoy reading threads where people post their practical attempts to beat the bookmaker/casino, but unfortunately there are very few of them, for example, from long threads, I only see the thread from buwaytress. Others often appear and quickly disappear as the one who starts them quickly and loses his deposit.

Thanks for the shout out! I know I have been really slowing down on that thread too, a little bit of life situation with busy days and a little bit of betting situation where I'm not nowadays as aware of teams and situations. Admittedly most of my bets disregard the finer details of lineup and sentiment and form is always easier to feel than to calculate anyway.

But yeah, think several years ago it was more common to find tipster threads, they all seem to have gone.
4448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 12, 2022, 07:24:48 PM
Well, any glimmer of hope Arsenal might have had to salvage something from a tight game went with Holding getting sent off... I keep thinking Arteta's solved the discipline issue in the squad and they keep proving me wrong every now and then. Think this season they've thrown games away numerous times just by getting themselves a man down.

Still not sure why I went for the draw.

On top of that, the whole situation with Luna and UST isn't helping, and certainly became the icing on the cake. This incident also creates a distressing situation environment regarding cryptocurrencies, which will have a devastating effect on the market in the long-term as people will deem cryptocurrencies as manipulated assets, ponzis and scams.
I am pretty sure that it left an open door to many people though. I mean it is not the greatest situation ever, but it is not as horrible as one might think neither. It allows people to actually see the open door and get in there and make more profit. Sure it's down right now, but it is an artificial down, the market is down because of Luna and we all know this.

It means, either we will start to ignore Luna as a whole market, or maybe Luna will recover a bit, whatever happens next, we all know that it will not be that bad, and when that happens, we are going to go high, and people know this hence why they are buying while it's going down without fear of catching a falling knife.

Yeah, I'm not sure Luna had much to do with it (or Terra or UST or whatever, can't really be super bothered to find out). Sure, they had to dump 1.5B dollars of Bitcoin if the news is true, but I never heard of them propping up the market when buying it either no?

I mean sure, they've probably not helped sentiment but at least it's helped us see if we're getting a floor -- doesn't look like it though.

chokers are chokers
Mallorca is fighting to avoid relegation, but that is hardly an excuse for Sevilla to play 0:0
and with this point, Mallorca is still first favorite to end up on relegation spot

Cadiz is playing Sociedad tomorrow, two points up already, and Granada is four points above, after two wins in a row

Yeah, if I were going to bet it's on Cadiz, but right now everything tied in FA Cup, some accas, some MLs, but definitely helped that I picked Barca instead of Sevilla, even if the odds were much better on the latter. Some lessons you learn late, but that's okay too ha! And if I lose that, then I don't have anything to do until end of the month. Just freebets, that's how bad it is it's been for me this season all around. BTC markets down just salt in my wounds =\
4451  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don’t rush to buy Bitcoin on: May 12, 2022, 04:11:20 PM
Agree to stay away from leverage, that's really going to kill you at whatever situation, agree not to rush but disagree not to buy.

I'd be really pleased to be buying now and see it pullback to sub 20k, wouldn't be feeling regret, since I'm not buying with the intent to sell so soon. DCA folks will be pretty happy sitting like this for another year I think.
4452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1 BTC = 1 BTC. You only lose if you sell. You're buying inflationary fiat. on: May 12, 2022, 03:31:18 PM
But why stop people from panic selling and pushing us back into discount territory? They're doing it with stocks, they're doing the same with Bitcoin. If not for them, we'd be stuck in sideways markets for months, and then we complain it's boring. At least this way we get some much-needed adrenaline, no? heh

Bring it on, bigger, lower =P
4453  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 - Main sponsor of Southampton FC 👋👋 on: May 11, 2022, 08:07:55 PM
@darxiaomi Ah man, you made me smile. Benzema getting four goals to start the comeback in injury time is probably, but getting Ronaldo to make a guest appearance, and then Perez to score the winning goal (he probably has to pay the ref not to ever blow his whistle too)?

Anyway, City too strong for Wolves -- KDB hattrick, talk about something else unlikely! It really does look like I'll have to pay Trofo 1 mbtc.

Who cares. FA Cup final is all on my eyes now!
4454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UST Stable coin depegs from dollar USD may Crash BTC,cause crypto death spiral on: May 11, 2022, 03:15:38 PM
@mk4 yeah I spent now about 10 minutes trying to understand Terra -- so it's actually a shitcoin and a stableshitcoin backed not even by shit. And this is just Bitcoin losing <30%. Imagine if it's broken and chased sub 30s. Fantastic how people can't see this coming.

Is it a sign of just how completely out of touch I am in this field that I never once heard about Terra, or UST, or any of the supposed implications on Bitcoin until yesterday?
No. It is a sign that you are not a moron chasing impossible promises with worthless shitcoins.

Yeah, all them people trying to convince me to look at some marvellous algorithmic coin gone quiet, making me feel better and better about my failure to capitalise on them shitcoins a year ago. 22 cents now I'm seeing on Twitter for their "stablecoin" oo-ee.
4455  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Potential to Drop in the $32k Area on: May 11, 2022, 01:07:45 PM
Ok, so we're right in the drop zone right now. Again. Thought we might see a bounce after 29k but turned out to be absolutely and pitifully weak, we've just slid right down about 6% and might even get a new low in next hours, and then I'm really not sure if we survive above 25k by Sunday.

^No news update can save this current flop. Hang on tight.
4456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 11, 2022, 12:39:53 PM
Don't know why but I just went in and upgraded my 3-0 to 4-0.
~snip

you are the only one with 0:4
I went with 1:2, not very ambition, but I expect goals tonight

nevertheless, it is really a mess at the top, and third slam point would make a difference, but exact score could mean a lot as well
I am 5 points above position 6, so would like to see myself in top5, not thinking about the top, but looking at best score per round, with 25 still good, looking at current 15.5 in this round, 6 matches to go (is that a paying spot anyway?)

Holy hell I made a HUGE overestimation on that one, didn't I? And you're right, slaman took the 3 exact points and has a slam point more than most of us, and he's top. Finally toppling tumi.

This is a far cry from last season when #1 just City'd his way to the end.

Need to look back and see but I think at least Top 5 win prizes as the prize pool is pretty big with Sportsbet's contribution. I say this with full knowledge of Bitcoin markets (haha).
4457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 11, 2022, 11:59:29 AM
Glad Barca took their wins. 2 goals from Auba proves he's in rediscovery, sure hope Araujo gets well, he'll have to sit out the rest of the season in this case (that's also a rule in La Liga with head injuries and concussions right?). Been lucky my life in football never to get that kind of injury. There was once I probably almost lost consciousness after heads came together, and some nausea for the whole day but that's probably one of the scariest ways to get hurt playing footie.

And yeah, damned shame about BTC price Sad

Is it a sign of just how completely out of touch I am in this field that I never once heard about Terra, or UST, or any of the supposed implications on Bitcoin until yesterday? And that's only because of work -- someone sent me something to look at about Terra, and I had to look it up.

I've seen a lot in my time but 20% APY? That should have raised a lot of red flags. But well, this is crypto, isn't it?
