4441  Other / Politics & Society / China’s been conducting secret Nuclear tests according to USA on: April 18, 2020, 06:26:32 AM
The US State Department has confirmed that China could be conducting secret nuclear tests, which is in violation of the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC). Furthermore this is an alarming situation as the world is already struggling to contain coronavirus, and the last thing we need to see is a nuclear tests and a nuclear war. This article also states that China prepared the virus in a lab to show that it’s superior than America, but it seems this plan of theirs has spectacularly backfired on them. It’s also pertinent to note that these accusations by American will harm their relationship with China, and it’ll be interesting to see how these two super powers will continue balancing their delicate relationship.

Quote

The State Department is concerned China may be conducting small nuclear tests in secret, possibly violating an international agreement banning such tests, Fox News confirmed Wednesday.

China has been under growing scrutiny over its handling of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. There is increasing confidence that COVID-19 likely originated in a Wuhan laboratory not as a bioweapon, but as part of China's effort to demonstrate that its efforts to identify and combat viruses were equal to or greater than the capabilities of the United States, multiple sources who have been briefed on government actions and seen relevant materials revealed to Fox News.

4442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 18, 2020, 04:29:52 AM
Real Madrid can take advantage of UEFA plans to loosen FFP (Financial Fair Play) regulations due to the impact of the Corona virus outbreak known as Covid-19, which has indeed made several European clubs lose revenue and UEFA also plans to make an exception to the regulation next season.

FFP regulations have made it difficult for Real Madrid to be able to bring in new players, especially Kylian Mbappe who according to the media is worth 230 million euros with a weekly salary of around 575 thousand euros.  Real Madrid are expected to have that much money but they have to obey the FFP regulations and that's what has been difficult for El Real so far.

@AakZaki if UEFA decides to relax the FFP rules then not only Real Madrid but all the big clubs like PSG, Manchester United will spend big to bring in their top transfer targets. Also do you’ll think that this move will have any effect on Manchester City’s ban as they too will try to use the corona situation to their advantage and ask that their ban be lifted.

4443  Economy / Economics / China’s economy is contracting and this is not good for the global economy. on: April 17, 2020, 05:12:39 PM

CHINA'S ECONOMY contracted 6.8% during the first three months of the year from the year prior – representing the country's first and largest reported economic decline since it began formally reporting data in the 1990s.

I have till date believed that the Chinese economy was going to remain strong despite the virus crisis, but I’m stunned to see that their economy is contracting, and I believe this will impact each and every country’s economy who trade a lot with them. Furthermore what do you’ll think that China should do at this stage to arrest this fall, and most importantly do you’ll believe that they’ll be able to repair their economy?.

4444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: April 17, 2020, 01:05:48 PM

Marca, Friday (17/4), RFEF Delegation Commission considered all possible situations related to European competition for next season. RFEF gives priority to teams that are in the Champions League qualification zone when the competition is stopped in Spain.
Mean, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Sevilla, and Real Sociedad will qualify for the highest caste competition between European clubs because they are in the top four. While Atletico Madrid and Getafe must be eliminated and qualify for the Europa League.

ATM must bury their dreams of competing in the Champions League next season if the RFEF proposal is approved..  ATM did not have the chance to catch up in the standings because all the Spanish league matches stopped, hopefully, ATM supporters will not be sad..

@Chrystora123 this news will break the heart of many Athletico Madrid fans, and I personally feel that their presence will be missed in the champions league if this decision is approved. However there’s something to cheer for Atletico Madrid fans too, as this is not the official decision and this decision may not even be approved.

Quote

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) proposed on Thursday that La Liga's current standings decide which teams qualify for European competitions if the season has to be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

La Liga and UEFA have not given their approval to the plan, with both governing bodies insisting they are still focused on finding a way to ensure domestic seasons are completed.

4445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: April 17, 2020, 09:46:54 AM
I don't want to get over confident however its looking like the corona virus cases world wide are starting to slow down which is good to see however I still think it will take another month before we get a clear idea on how well its looking. Then we could see some sporting events start back up so the French Open is looking likely at the moment but again I don't want to get ahead because it could all change very quickly.

I hope so mate, however, there are still new cases popping out everyday here, although there are also people recovering, but more cases have been reported and we still have a lock down up to the end of this month. Just last night, our President is seriously considering Martial Law just to impose those lock downs because there are still a lot of undisciplined people who doesn't follow the protocols so that everyone should be safe and the infections can be controlled. Of course, I'm still hoping that we can see sporting events this year not just tennis, but it seems the chance are slim at this point.

Yeah just when it is looking good, things can change very quickly. Here in Australia we have been able to control the out break however winter is coming so we could see more cases pop up. I think we could see some tennis played but of course with no crowds, the US is now hopefully over the peak and that we could see the US open later this year. Stay safe my friend and lets hope that it doesn't come to martial law for your country.

@vella85 you’re correct as this coronavirus situation is really unpredictable because when we thought that China had completely recovered from it’s clutches it’s now been reported that more cases are popping up. @Kemarit while I’m not a huge fan of the martial law, but for what’s it worth I feel your government should impose it even though it’ll be painful in the short term, but in the long term you’ll will be thankful because you’ll survived due to the strict laws in place. Lastly I hope that due to the strict social distancing measures in place we get see some major tournaments in the second half of the year.

4446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 17, 2020, 05:55:33 AM

I read the news today and I thought that Bundesliga is going to start again.
I thought that their decision is to take place without spectators which is also hard for Germans as they love going to the stadiums and watch football.
Do we have to wait for a further notice?

Chancellor Merkel and the federal states agreed in the Corona crisis to extend contact restrictions
Major events will remain prohibited nationwide until 31 August. It is up to the individual federal states to decide from what size events are prohibited.
According to the decisions, soccer matches also fall under the category of major events that cannot take place in the coming months.

The yesterdays decision doesn't mean that there are no matches at all until August 31th. All major events are forbidden, that's correct, but there is the possibility of matches played behind closed doors. I am confident that those will come rather sooner than later. If there won't be any matches until August 31th most Bundesliga clubs will have a huge financial problem.

The German politicians also announced, that sport events were no specific topic on the yesterdays meeting. Talks about matches behind closed doors are expected to take place on April 30th.

The German newspaper "Kicker" reported on the topic:

...
Großveranstaltungen in Deutschland sollen bis zum 31. August untersagt bleiben.

...

I know many will consider this as a setback as we won’t see the league games for quiet a while now, but considering the fact that fans and players will be safe I’m happy with their decision. Furthermore it seems that they have intentionally left it open for states to decide whether to allow football games or no, therefore it’ll be interesting to see if the states will allow football games to go ahead or not. Lastly even if those games are allowed they’ll be played without fans, and it’ll be horribly boring to watch those games where there’re no fans cheering for their clubs.

4447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: IPL Mutual Pool Discussion. on: April 17, 2020, 03:05:05 AM
Just in : Finally some official statement from the BCCI, guess its a first official statement from them since the lock-down announcement.

BCCI officially suspends IPL 2020 indefinitely

Quote
With the Coronavirus pandemic not relenting, the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League has officially been suspended indefinitely by the BCCI. This comes just two days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address to the nation, announcing the extension of the lockdown period until May 3.

"The health and safety of the nation and everyone involved in our great sport remains our top priority and as such, the BCCI along with the Franchise Owners, Broadcaster, Sponsors and all the Stakeholders acknowledge that the IPL 2020 season will only commence when it is safe and appropriate to do so," a BCCI release stated.

What do they mean by the term "indefinitely"? Are they going to "indefinitely" postpone the tournament? If that is the case, then why can't they announce that tournament is cancelled? There is no improvement in the situation here in India and even today we are having more than a thousand new cases. The number of new cases are increasing on a day by day basis and from 20th April there may be another major spike thanks to the relaxation in lockdown.

They have used the term "suspended" to give them some sort of margin and hope if the situation become better later in the year. If they would have cancelled the tournament, they might have to pay a big price and the fans would be disappointed too. By using the term postponed, they have kept the hopes alive.
This is simply political announcement by BCCI as they are not giving up and right now they are unable to have any good news about this so just because of this they are giving statement like this its suspended not cancelled even every one know this year its very difficult as now time is running out and we have no window for this.

Clearly they are still hoping that they might find some window for IPL. Other than that i don't see any explanation behind suspension announcement.

Edit : Interesting update
Sri Lanka ready to host IPL 2020, will provide all facilities for tournament: SLC to BCCI

Snip

Just an attempt to boost their revenues a bit by hosting IPL in Srilanka, But I don't think we'll have IPL this year as I don't see a gap in the yearly calendar.
Yeah it's tough and their motivation is revenue but it's win win situation for both bcci and SLC if it happens. They do have less than 250 covid-19 cases so far. Interestingly they are not pushing for SL vs ENG test series which got cancelled.

@JSRAW and others there’re two possibilities now 1) you’ll are correct and they’ll try and stage IPL this year, and 2) maybe BCCI knows that organising IPL is not possible this year, and they’re not keen to admit it because they’ll have to pay huge amounts of money upfront to organisers and therefore they’re now buying time before they pay them. Furthermore I don’t think that BCCI will move IPL to Sri Lanka as franchise owners may not be happy with the change in venue, and even their sponsors may not agree to this move.

4448  Other / Politics & Society / Amazon is greedy very greedy on: April 16, 2020, 06:04:31 PM
At a time when people are loosing their jobs, hopelessly locked in their homes Amazon decides that’s not enough punishment for their Affliates, and therefore it has decided to cut down their Affliate earnings which is a horrible and a greedy move. Now I know that many will wonder why bother about this then let me tell you that many affliates rely on this income, and they earn from few thousand dollars to lakh of dollars monthly.

Quote

Amazon on Tuesday told members of its affiliates program that it will cut commission rates beginning April 21. Rates are being cut for a number of affiliate product categories. For example, the affiliate cut from purchases of furniture and home improvement products has fallen from 8% to 3%.

As you’ll can see that they only want to profit even in these difficult times which is really sad, and I sincerely hope that they’ll be forced to reverse their decision soon.

4449  Other / Politics & Society / Re: New York State requiring masks in public, starting on Friday on: April 16, 2020, 01:08:38 PM
Maybe the title is a bit misleading, but NY Gov Cuomo has ordered that everyone in NY when in public (when unable to follow social distancing guidelines) must wear a mask. This is going to be pretty common on public transportation, grocery stores, some work environments, etc.

NY is getting stricter and stricter with their measures, for good reason, as they're the state that has been hit the hardest when it comes to the coronavirus. Let me know what you guys think about this.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/15/nyregion/coronavirus-face-masks-andrew-cuomo.html

@squatz1 in my personal opinion it’s a good move, but a very late move as these orders should have been implemented days ago.

Good call, way too late. Unfortunately the CDC flipflopping with its recommendations and the shortage of proper masks has made a huge mess of this. How the fuck we can make a $1000 iPhone for everyone but not a $10 pack of disposable masks is beyond me.

I agree with this being the right call though, best way to limit the spread.

I'm assuming the lack of production is because there never really was a demand for this sort of thing. While this is a horrible thing to happen to the country and the world, as many are going to die. The good thing that is going to come out of this is that the government should invest in having equipment in reserves for this sort of thing. Pretty much me pointing back to the Bill Gates talk on pandemics (https://www.ted.com/talks/bill_gates_the_next_outbreak_we_re_not_ready?language=dz) which was right after the Ebola crisis about how we weren't ready.

Would be great if NY could be providing them to people who can't have them or something like that, though I guess the best thing is to just make your own with a piece of cloth / shirt / etc.

@suchmoon did you really expect those corporates to make a mask where’s there’s no profit for them, because I had zero expectations from them. @squatz New York governor kept pleading for ventilators and even Trump signalled to corporates to make it, but when they failed to voluntarily make it he forced them to make it.

The government should be implementing guidelines and recommendations, not mandates. Any mandates in regard to this situation are not within their powers under the constitution, and are simply a way to train the chattel property to obey commands, regardless of their legal powers to do so. This is just a tool for power hungry people to dictate how people live their lives. That said, wearing masks is probably a good idea, but that doesn't mean the government should, or does have the authority to mandate it.

@TECHSHARE while I don’t like governments crossing a line but these are extraordinary times, and we need to support good decisions like these otherwise people will never wear masks and the infection will never stop spreading.

but remember folks
if your the type of person that is quick to put on a mask and then keeps touching face to adjust it every few minutes.. you are defeating the point of wearing it

if your the type of person that is quick to put on a mask and then think your instantly immortal and able to do everything you used to do last year.. your defeating the point of it.

the point is limit what you touch. wash hands after touching random things. dont touch your face. stay at a distance
the mask is not to replace any of that advice. its in addition to.

@franky1 you’re absolutely correct mate touching one’s face while wearing a mask is a really bad idea, and I would advise you’ll to carry alcohol based sensitisers whenever you’re out and recommend you’ll to keep washing your hands with it. Also if it’s possible wear gloves, and keep your distance from people, and be safe guys as this political section will really be boring if you’ll get sick, and don’t come to discuss political events out here.

Sorry, but i can only find a article in German.

I can't see how an organization of a GP who pays 20m € will organize a GP if they can't get money back from the 200.000 people at the circuit.
We have already a lot of complaints for football games at closed doors a F1 GP without people I think is not possibile if anyone gives the money to the owner of the circuit.

At Austria GP is another starting point, the owner (Didi Mateschitz) don't need money  Grin Grin. But your point is correct i also see without payed fans no race...

The Austrian race too shall be canceled even though the Vice Chancellor of Austria is okay with a race without fans, and the reason I feel it’ll be canceled is because of the number of staff required to complete the race. In the Vice Chancellor’s own words around 1000+ support staff is required for the race, and I don’t think they will allow so many people to gather in the arena. Furthermore a race without fans is a disaster in the making, and I feel they should not go ahead with the race.

Australia has done a great job at keeping the corona virus under control so far however winter is coming soon which could cause the virus to spike but as the country is in lock down it should help steam the cases in winter. Why I say this is because it could be a good sign that the T20 world cup will go ahead as planned if Australia can keep the virus under control.

CA or ICC are open with the idea of "Empty stadiums" ? CA already talking with other boards for cooperation? it can't happen if other boards are not on same page.

I think, at this point, it's safe to say that IPL will not be played this year.

Let's hope that we get to see at least the T20i World Cup, without the crowd of course.

Yeah, no need of IPL this year and mini IPL / 20 days IPL is not good too.

@JSRAW a T20 World Cup without fans is like eating a pizza without cheese on it, and it’ll be a horrible idea as players won’t be pumped up to play those big shots, or do their usual antics as there’s no one to cheer them up. Also I hate to say this but I feel that Allan Border is right, as he’s asking the T20 World Cup to be called off if there’re no fans allowed in the stadium to watch it.

Do you know by chance if any Italian clubs are resuming training soon?
AFAIK no and normally they couldn't since the lockdown is extended to the third day of May, at least. So if a team is training right now then he may be sanctioned.
What i heard until now that doctors are against resuming Serie A in May. Rumors about playing the remaining games in the South of Italy without spectators 3 games per week. The biggest problem is players who their contracts will end in June...

Lazio and Napoli wanted to start training in the mid-Aprli but...

The prime minister on his last decree said "No sportive organized activity will be allowed before 4th May", the date can be postponed.
This is why the president of Seria A hope for a start at the end of May.
This is really good decision by both Government and Serie A as no need of taking any risk we have some good time in future for this all first safety is very important for all.

It is not a bad news in my opinion because safety is the first. The season can be finished with some months later than usual but it will be good if we will manage to finish it safely for all (players, staffs, referees, and community). Maybe if things go well, we will finish this season and the summer and winter breaks for next season or next 2 seasons can be truncated a little bit. I support the decision of the Prime minister.

The Prime Minister of Italy has taken a sensible decision by not allowing them to train, as this way social distancing would be practised for a longer period of time. @hd49728 according to the article (link below) the league will be completed within 6 and half weeks, but a major problem for the teams will be their players who’re outside Italy as they’ll have to be under mandatory quarantine of 14 days when they come back to Italy. Furthermore I’m really excited for this league to resume again, and now I’m sincerely praying that we get to see the players in action soon.

They are quite late to the party, it seems. Community members have already been able to discern which is which weeks ago, and have already posted guidelines to know whether a 'donation fund' is a scam or not. As always, just stay vigilant and do searches, cross-references and just donate to official sources which can easily be found in the interwebs and such.

It's just appalling that even in times like these, nefarious beings still roam and try to deceive people out of their own hard-earned money by masking it using donations to the needy.

@dothebeats indeed the community is much wiser now, and I don’t believe anyone from the crypto community will fall for these types of scams.

These don't seem to target holders at all? I mean the examples listed all look like run-of-the-mill scams, except executed with crypto. I'm surprised they singled out crypto at all considering these scams have predated crypto itself lol.

It's interesting how no less than the FBI has come out with this warning though. Makes you wonder how prevalent crypto scamming really is.

@jseverson I’ll second that considering FBI choose to gave a warning for crypto says it all that crypto is gaining lots of recognition these days, and maybe it even believes that people are using more crypto’s than fiat.

Because a lot of gambling sites offers a faucet but the rate is very low so still very useless and I want to know the difference that you offer to the player that want to use faucet. It's good to see also that the withdrawal is instant and even the deposit address that players need to takes time to wait before to wait because there is a time confirmation is really takes long.

You need to understand that the purpose of a faucet is just to try out to site before you make a deposit to make sure its up to your liking. Its not a way how to earn a living by claiming a faucet and hoping to catch a 9900x winner and do a min withdraw. This is why most gambling sites don't have a faucet due to abuse and the ones that do they offer very little. Basically fractions of a penny. Even if you by some miracle make enough to make a min withdraw, most will just deny the withdraw.

You guys look like you are finding gamblers from out of nowhere, I mean look at the leaderboard and look at the topic, normally bitcointalk topics of casinos that has a lot less gamblers on their competitions have hundreds of pages, they have people talking about it like crazy and constantly discussing something about the casino, not on page 7 but on page 107 most of the time and they are the ones who do not have people gambling as much as people gamble on your website, the ones that gamble as much as you have over 200+ pages.

I am pretty sure it is outside of bitcointalk but would you care to tell us where you find these gamblers? Maybe it could be a secret and you do not want to giveaway your source but this is just a huge accomplishment that I didn't want it going to waste without anybody seeing it.

Besides the first 3 gamblers, the rest all had very little roll-over. Keep in mind that you don't need to do much  work to get a roll over of 1 BTC. Most likely they are adveritsing somewhere else like Reddit or some other websites. What gives this away is that they have an affiliate program , most of those usually get tons of traffic from "bitcoin gambling review" sites which want to reap the affiliate incomes.

@adaseb you’re absolutely correct as faucets are to be used to only test the site, and I’m glad that many sites now don’t have faucets anymore as people only join these sites to abuse them and these users add no value to the site. @justdimin it’s not difficult to find their traffic source as there’s a tool that’ll show you all the details you need to find their traffic sources, but then again those details are only useful if you’re into seo otherwise you won’t be able to use them.
4457  Economy / Speculation / Re: Pantera CEO Says Bitcoin Will Explode in Three to Nine Months on: April 14, 2020, 07:08:52 AM
That is not Dan Morehead or anyone who has anything to do with Pantera Capital. Grin

I think it's some actor named Branden Miller.[/url] What is your process when choosing these pictures? A little due diligence please. Wink
Thank you for bringing that up so I wouldn't have to for the millionth time in OP's threads.

Never heard of Pantera Capital, but it doesn't really matter who they are and I don't trust public announcements like this from investment firms or money managers, because it always strikes me as a bald-faced attempt at hyping an asset that they likely own.  It's also only one person/company's opinion, and for every one of those you find that tells you bitcoin is going to spike there are probably hundreds of others telling you the opposite.  The truth is that none of them know for sure, so it's all noise.

Lol that picture was really off putting and I didn't really understand the relevance
There is no relevance, and I'm putting OP on ignore for constantly using irrelevant images.

@The Pharmacist those pictures used by bbc.reporter are often used to drive a point as I have seen in her other threads, and now she has confirmed my theory too about those pics. Also as for this comment I would advise you'll to take it with a grain of salt, and do your own due diligence as these people will say anything to gain public attention.

@exstasie. I showed that picture to express how I feel on what Dan Morehead has said hehehe. He might be correct about the stock market, however, he might be wrong on bitcoin. Investors might be conservative and invest in safe bluechip stocks first before volatile speculative investments similar to bitcoin.
4458  Economy / Economics / China’s second corona wave can it crush it’s economy? on: April 14, 2020, 04:40:41 AM
Just when we thought that China had banished corona from it’s land suddenly new cases began to pop up at record pace, and now the health experts believe that it could be a second potential wave of Coronavirus in China. At this stage China will once again be forced to go into lockdown, and do you’ll think that it’s economy will be able to recover quickly from this second lockdown too?.

4459  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We are having the difficult time, are you still a Bitcoin HODL? on: April 13, 2020, 05:21:12 PM
I used to favor the HODL ideology, but no more. We can't hold our coins for an infinite period of time. At some point, we need to sell them so that we can profit out of our investments. And IMO, the future outlook is not looking very rosy. We are just a few weeks away from the block reward halving, and there is no spike related to that event. If the markets are bearish, then we can expect a major drop after the event.
So you think halving bitcoin is a way for prices to surge quickly? That is wrong thinking and one more thing, the future of bitcoin and other crypto is very bright and you don't need to be afraid of prices that are difficult to go up because after all, the current situation is very unlikely for the market to get a bullish trend immediately so stay patient and I a sense of HODL strategy will still be very good at this opportunity, but it all depends on themselves which of course they will have their own ways that may be more profitable.

Well... I would agree with you when you say that the future of Bitcoin looks bright. But with any investment, there is a need to reduce the risk by doing profit/loss booking. I made my investments more than three years ago, and I believe that time has come to do a partial disinvestment. But still, I am very optimistic about crypto and therefore I will be holding on to more than 80% of my coins.

It is still possible that the price will go down before or shortly after halving. However, the price history of Bitcoin says that the price increases a few months after halving. I think that the recession on the world market will also positivly affect the price of Bitcoin in the second half of this year. If someone wants to take a chance, they can now sell and within a month or two it is possible to buy back cheaper. However, in my opinion, the least risky will be to wait and hold, because the price increase can start at any moment.

In my personal opinion one should always hodl his bitcoins for the long term, but if an emergency situation pops and there’s no other option left but to sell then that person should sell it and not be rigid in his thought process. Furthermore we should see the halving effects soon and post halving I’m expecting minor dips in bitcoin prices as people would be selling their coins for profits, but once the short term sellers leave the market then we should witness upwards movement in bitcoin prices.

4460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ethereum prices can tremendously shoot upwards thanks to Reddit. on: April 13, 2020, 02:09:31 PM
Reddit is often billed as the front page of the internet, and if you have ever visited it then you’ll know that it’s true as millions browse it daily. Now the good news for Reddit users is that they’re planning to launch a new point based system involving Ethereum, which means that millions of Reddit users will suddenly adopt Ethereum coin and due to the sudden adoption it’s prices will soar to the moon.

What do you’ll think about this move by Reddit, do you’ll too believe that it’s the perfect time to buy and hodl Ethereum? or you’ll feel one should wait for some more time and then buy it?.
