Only big scale mining is profitable as you might find out soon enough, there can't be any positive income with less than 10 antminer s9.
Yes, there can be, if you do have cheap enough electricity and aquedate cooling. A large operation doesn't do you any good if your electrical costs aren't low enough to actually earn anything; you can make profits with a single S9, as long as your electrical costs are good and you have good cooling as I mentioned before. Internet isn't a huge issue, as miners don't use much of it and you can practically run them off of DSL.

Half of them are scams, and therefore investing in one is like playing a ponzi. Don't do it, and if you'd actually like to make something, then try trading and investing; those two can yield significant profit as well as posting here and joining a signature campaign. If you can't mine on your own, don't mine.

Even the best phones don't have extremely good heat dissipation, even those that claim to have some sort of heatpipes and liquid cooling- for the most part, phones are made to much lower quality standards than computers, even with their chips. I've mined for a good 2 months straight on my phone and nothing terrible has happened yet, so if you'd like to, you're welcome to take the risk. I personally think it's pretty interesting, but if you actually use your phone for a good purpose and store data on it, don't. Don't risk your data.
good to hear that you used to mine using you phone and i would like to know which phone you are using to mine and how would you manage the heating issues and final thing i want to know is which coin have you mined and how much profit have you earned with it. A Galaxy Grand Prime. I mined Dogecoin for the most part, and it's gotten me around 20 for the time I used it; I ran on one thread and it mined shares pretty slowly. Not much happened with such low power and core usage, but I still don't recommend doing it if you have precious data held on the phone or if it's expensive. My phone was practically free.

i could see many newbies bidding their accounts,is it just a troll account created by the OP ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) if you have fulfilled your dream of acquiring the shares you can very well state that and close this thread now .if not you will be getting more offers ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) This thread's become the main one for selling and buying ICN, and although it's quite unlikely any actual transactions have been done, it won't die anytime soon and will likely become the thread for selling ICN in the months to come. It's not secure for either party to buy nor sell ICN right now, so I agree with you that it's safe to assume these are all fake users.

I'd think that they mixed and sold a portion initially and are selling them slowly, as to avoid any kind of tracking and to not garner much attention. It's definitely possible that they've already sold their coins, but then again, nobody will truly know. It might even be the thing that's keeping the price of bitcoin down, even though I admit even that sounds quite ridiculous.

Honestly tho... a dollar(0.0016btc) within week one isn't unrealistic imo, which is around 8x ico prices.
I feel though that the explosive potential of this could take us places nobody thought possible; like a billion dollar marketcap.
It's all just speculation, though; it's unlikely the token will fade into the background, but it's also unlikely it'll reach 8x ico price within a week. I expect a small dump at the beginning of Tuesday and a slow recovery and a rise a week or two after everything evens out. Still not a bad investment, even if you buy when the coin comes out.

You just try to read the market and learn a few basics about price and where it could possibly go. As you can see from many people that predict the price and speculate, it's not guaranteed that you'll gain money at all with trading, and even less that the price will go where you think it'll go. It's a matter of luck for the most part, and how you react to certain situations; for example, learning to cut your losses. BCT is a nice place to learn the basics about trading if you look at the right places, but it's just a matter of time and experience.

You'd get much more profit mining some type of altcoin, for example, Ethereum or Monero. The RX470 is pretty much the best GPU you can get for the price and has the best efficiency and mh/s ratio for any miner. I'd recommend you'd keep those GPUs and keep mining. i m mining BTC with GPU's i already bought 12 RX 470 8GB but i have some info's that i can find cheaper and better Gpu's with much MHS/s
now i want to spend 10K on gpu's and if any one can give me a good tip what kind of GPU's should i bye it will b great.
""LONG LIFE BTCBTC""
You would be mining a altcoin with GPU's. Keep in mind if budget is 10k you can't spend all on cards assuming you buying all gear, and no gear sitting around. Good PSU's, motherboard, CPU, Memory, HD, etc are going to take some of that budget. But you really need to check out altcoin forum, and also if you are going to flash card's etc. And don't forget about heat and electricity needed. Do you have electrical set-up? As if not setup with electrical, cooling, shelves, etc can add up on startup. You can boot off of a live Linux USB if needed, and RAM is cheap if you buy it used if you want to skimp on your rig and get a cheaper build. PSU and Mobo is what you'll be looking for. CPU doesn't really matter that much for the most part; a 3$ C2D will work most of the time.

How do I signup for this campaign? if there are some still some spots left.
You can't, as sign ups are now closed and they aren't accepting new applicants unless something big happens, which nothing like that will happen in the coming days. Also doesn't seem likely people will leave the campaign. I'd just keep looking at the google doc and try to get in if I were you.

Guys thanks for your responses, I'm fully avare of the fact that different coins have different algos, I was just confused because the EVGA GTX TITAN SC 6gb has 2000 hs for cryptonight and 485khs in the comparison (which is probably wrong type or wrong number there) and Amd hd 7950 which has about 500 hs on cryptonigh has much more (about 670khs) in the comparison list, there was the problem... just how to calculate power for different algos there are only few lists which can have wrong info...
We will probably buy this kind of PC -3GHZ Intel Core2Duo e8400, 4 GB RAM,MB Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3L, 250GB HDD,radeon HD4800 512MB,Windows 10 home , the motherboard should have 5 slots for the cards then we will get the adapters - x1pci to x16pci and we will buy those graphic cards :
Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 Vapor-x AMD Radeon R9 280X DirectCU II (3072 MB) AMD Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 3GB
We want to get approx 60 MH/s on eth
You could probably get away with running 2 or 3GB RAM; some users report a bit more lag, but if you'd like to shave a few dollars off of your build, that might work. You can also buy a 60GB HDD if mining is all you plan on doing; you could even just boot off USB if you get the software installed on there.

Hi I'm new to the forum and new to bitcoin! After spending hours and hours on Youtube and on this forum, I want to start bitcoin mining. I was searching for good bitcoin miners and the only miner I see possible profit is the Antminer S9. Or am I wrong? My electricity cost is €0.0579025/kWh or about 0.0635045669 USD/kWh. By using this calculator: /0hkWD7]https://[Suspicious link removed]/0hkWD7 I became a ROI of 1.2 years and a profit of €167.69/month. (@ current difficulty) Am I right is this calculation or will it fail because of the changing difficulty? Any corrections, tips or advise would be nice! Thanks in advance! your power cost is low enough that mining could make money for you. The s9 is the most efficient miner around but it has proven to be a bit fragile as compared to the s7 or s5. Also do you have solid internet without dropouts? do you have good power with out flux or dropouts? 220 volts = better then 110 volts? do you realize these put out close to 5000 btus of heat? http://rapidtables.com/convert/power/Watt_to_BTU.htmthey are loud and they make a whistle at times. I have been mining for years and I have decent or even good rep on this site. read here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1599630.0 ---- note I have been help by yoshi goto from bitmainwarranty kind of a parent company to bitmaintech. this company does not service all of the world. some ways to direct the heat and sound https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1650756.0Thanks for the fast reply ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I can buy on a site with 2 years of warranty, located in Breda, the Netherlands ( antminerdistribution.com). I live in Belgium so I can just pick it up after a 30 min drive. This means no exta VAT and shipping. My Internet connection is stable and so is my power. The mains here is 230V so I can just use the 1600W PSU of Antminer. Noise isn't that of a problem but heat.. If I put the S9 in a room with dimensions of 2m x 4m is it needed to cool/vent that room? you will need to blow the hot air out a window. Hmm okay. How can I 'find' the best pool to join? After reading several threads Antpool is coming out the best. Honestly, it's your choice. You can dig around a bit and there will be lots of opinion around, mine on your own for a while on big pools like slush or antpool and find which one you like most. Some people don't like supporting the chinese, some do, so it's really up to your choice. Personally, I like Kano CKPool; it's nice and fast. Is mining without a pool any good? For me it isn't about supporting, I just want to make money ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) In which way is CKPool fast? Solo mining is how you mine without a pool, and it's generally unprofitable; you either hit a block or you don't, like a lottery. Generally, you'll lose more than you gain there, so I don't recommend it. CK is fast in terms of payments and has low fees as well as good luck, and doesn't mine empty blocks like other pools sometimes do.

Would I be in a good place to make money if I bought 84 antminer S7s and ran around 400 TH/s? I will be able to get the facility and the equipment.
Depends if you're willing to do all the upkeep that'd be required of miners. People don't realise how much needs to be done to keep miners up and running at full speed; you may want to check on them every few days or get someone to check on them for you. Ofc if you've already read this thread you'll probably know your electrical costs and such, electricity should not be a big issue. Otherwise, check back in with a few more details pertaining to that and we'll have a decent answer for you.

With ASIC hardware; with modern computers, even the best RX 480s won't compare to even just a tiny Block Erupter USB that came out in 2013. The best miner i'd recommend is the antimer S9, and even that will take you around a year and 3 months to ROI; that isn't even counting cooling costs and electrical costs. If your electrical costs are below 0.1$/kwh, you can at least start to look for mining hardware.
Software mining is occasionally profitable, but that's only if you mine altcoins like ethereum. I won't elaborate, since this is the bitcoin forum, but with a decent set of GPUs you can make a bit of money without having the electrical requirements like BTC.

I was absent in last the 24-48 hours and I see there is a lot of pages , could somebody tell me Is there is any updates ? last information I got is that the ICNs will be launched at 18 October - Tuesday ? anything else I should know about ? (If It's going to be listed in an exchange ,If we should change wallets , If they switched to Lisk instead of ETH , anything rly... )
ETH will hard work on Oct 18 to fix DDoS issues, therefore ICN team decided to do the responsible thing and delay launch by 1 week for network stability & testing purposes. ICN will launch on Oct 25. Launch price prediction : $3 to $5 per token. ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) Get those Lambos & Teslas ready. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FcuLosSe.png&t=663&c=UxO9Vb4Aisxe-g) Where you find this prediction? This looks good Because ICONOMI & Cashila have an unprecedented ability to bring in FIAT INVESTMENTS, not to mention the stellar team behind them. They are actually managing the situation quite well in my opinion, and they aren't cracking too much under pressure and letting the people do what they want to do while they get their stuff done. It's quite easy to understand once you get past the FUD and just trash posting that is in this thread; try sifting through the posts, as well as ICONOMI's posts. You'll be surprised.

I think you are telling about dice sites, as much i know dice or casino sites where you can earn high on small bets, but apart from that some time in sports betting also you can earn high.
I don't think you can earn high amount with small bets on dice games because you can most double it with each bet. But if you play longer time surely you will lose money in this game as we all know. So there is no such thing called winning money from gambling site with less money because these games are made to have just fun so if you want to gamble to make a profit then better stop it and invest some other places. It definitely is possible; there are sites where you can gamble with dust and turn it into something, but those sites often lie about their percentages and rarely pay out. Honestly, it's not worth the time and you're better off using a faucet or signature campaign to strike it rich; the chances are low and existing sites are often scams.

i think 2 way what you say is the best way to get a lot of btc. But for gambling section i disagree. Gambling just rely your lucky. every people had their our lucky but it's not true way to get more profit. I suggest to you dont try gambling.
Yes, but luck can also grant you a quick way up. If you do plan on gambling, set your own plan and make sure you withdraw at your planned spot so you don't get too greedy. As long as you gamble in moderation, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Remember, gamble what you can afford to lose, not your valuables- this is sometimes tricky.

Well, it may not be a scam but it's still a bad deal, it may be profitable right now at current coin values but in a few months who knows, and you need almost a year just to recover the investment, at current market values... Baikal has sold to many people and they have confirmed that their products work. It's just a matter of getting their miners, which can be difficult since they cost so much. It's an interesting product, though, and I'll probably buy one to mess with once they go down in price.
