Okay  My new s-9  died after 10 hours use just one board not all three.
I am somewhat of a player here are my purchases from bitmaintech  just the s-9's and the s-7's

2016-08-16 15:09:31.0--------2.544 BTC
2016-06-28 02:35:15.0--------3.146 BTC
2016-06-12 17:35:34.0--------3.172 BTC
2016-06-09 14:04:48.0--------3.513 BTC
2016-05-31 17:53:16.0--------4.079 BTC
2016-05-31 11:49:08.0--------3.996 BTC

S-9’s total ------------20.45 BTC

2016-03-03 18:52:51.0--------- 5.390 BTC
2016-03-03 18:49:24.0-------- 1.830 BTC
2016-02-23 21:32:28.0-------- 5.2809 BTC
2016-02-23 15:07:02.0-------- 1.787 BTC
2015-12-23 01:00:42.0-------- 3.104 BTC
2015-12-23 00:26:20.0-------- 3.104 BTC
2015-12-23 00:10:55.0-------- 3.104 BTC
2015-12-22 23:51:51.0-------- 3.104 BTC
2015-11-17 14:14:37.0---------5.215 BTC
2015-09-29 13:35:49.0---------6.484 BTC
2015-08-30 18:28:06.0---------7.803 BTC
2015-08-30 14:23:44.0---------7.756 BTC

S-7’s total --------53.9619 btc

over 73 btc in s-7’s and s-9s

not to mention

s-5’s s-3’s s-1’s

So  Over 73 btc on s-7's and s-9's  and at least 50 btc on s-1's, s-3's , s-5's  lets say 125 btc in gear.

I had a dead s-1 damaged in transit.  Yoshi and the old dz-coop replaced it via cross ship .
I had an low hash s-7 took 6 or 7 months  I was given 150 usd in comp.

I have a s-9 did a thread on it    https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1590910.0  and it details how to make a quiet low noise s-9

I guess bitmaintech had the same idea as they now have a quiet miner listing

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1597639.0

So my miner dies one board after ten hours use.  I contacted Yoshi in Colorado and shipped the board to him.
Board arrived on weds the 24th

I await news on replacement of it.

Meanwhile it looks like I have lost a second board on an older s-9 I will check  it out on monday.

Maybe not sure and I am tired of climbing the ladder to the solar array loft. I will check it on monday.

image below show two "bad" boards.

I never overclocked my s-9 antminers
Basically they ran hot so I d not overclock.

I never let temps go over 72 102 c

Mostly kept them at 65c 95c

This machine is about 78 days old I think it shipped on june  12th  since  my earliest machine shipped on June 12th I got it on june 14th

Sadly  the second board is dead.

Also  sadly  no notice on the first board.

So with 6 s-9's  and 18 boards I am down 2 boards

or 16 and 2

or 88.88% good and 11.11 % bad.

I just emailed yoshi goto in colorado hopefully he will tell me to ship second dead board out to him today or tues day.

Sucksssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss  Angry Angry

Look I do  not hate on bitmaintech.  They sell gear to anyone that pays them.  That is flat out better then most every other asic company on earth.

Avalon sometimes sells gear but they cost a bit more and do not always have the gear.

Bitmaintech is even smart in asking a ton of money  for the s-9  and the new R4.  Really good business tactic.

But they have to fix the warranty process.

I sent one board in last week it arrived on Wednesday  I do not know its status.

I have a second bad board  I want to send it in and I am awaiting an email from Yoshi to send it to Colorado vs China.

This is a bad way to encourage sales.

 I now have 4 units all running lower then stock for fear of burn out.  so 4 x 13 = 52 but I am at 4 x 11.5 = 46

I have two units with 2 boards  doing  7.5 each = 15.0 th so 61th  vs

  6 x 13 = 78th   a loss of 17th.

so between two dead boards and downclock  it is a ton of hash power lost.

It is not so much that boards die.  It is the replacement system.

I am looking to expand  I have 3500 maybe 4000 watts   and I can't see using bitmaintech.  A dead unit can take  weeks for replacement.

Most likely I will lean towards a new gpu machine.

Maybe Yoshi will answer my email today. With good news.

Query re the miners at the solar farm needing different Words and routing through a 2nd router.
This seems a better place so not OT in other threads Wink

Ever look at the router logs and filter by traffic to/from the miners addresses to see if something nefarious is going on? Should always be the exact same connections.

Is a suggestion from Opieum2 via Skype. Dunna know why no one else including me didn't think of it... just too easy  Roll Eyes Could also have a packet scanner/sniffer running to see where they go. Is outside my realm so aks others...
Query: Is the farm connected to a different ISP than is at yer home where this issue doesn't happen? There is a rare and unlikely sitch regarding this exact thing so has to be asked. Google ISP btc mining hack

Yeah the solar array is at forum member buysolar he lives four mile from my home.
Still, checking the router logs would be an easy check to see if all of a miners attention is focused where it should be. One thing I've done at home and work is have all the miners routed to end up at 1 port I've dedicated as miners-only on the DSL router. Other parts of the networks feed different ports. Makes it easier to track overall data usage.

Now if it was/is a targeted attack at the ISP -- much harder to find/prove. The case in Chicago (I think) involved a tech at one of the ISP main sites so he looked for traffic to known pools and had a script periodically re-route to his choice. Involved a hole in Stratum. He was caught and that hole is long ago patched (was in 2014 I think).

I may check router logs at the solar array when weather cools a bit.

Some good news on board replacement.

I am sending in the second board after a contact email from Yoshi this morning.

I may see replacements soon.

I will update as time goes by.

On first board I think I am paying shipping from NJ to Colorado and back to NJ. Total of 50 usd.

Second board has not arrived it had no visible marks. tracking says they will get it on the first of sept.

So maybe that will be a just shipping deal also.

this is from a batch one looks perfect notice nice straighter heat sinks then my batch 10 a few posts up

Beautiful! See now that is how I would expect a warranty process to work, paying shipping is very reasonable. Is this level of service tied to your presence here on the forums or on your purchase history? I'd like to think that Bitmain would provide similar levels of service to all customers... In any case, im very happy that you're slowly getting resolution.

well  I have purchased  from them since 2013..

A lot of coin maybe 130-150 btc over 80000 usd.

I am guessing that has to help get some service.

But this should be normal for all buyers. That is what a warranty should be.

I really hope they resolve their warranty issues across the board.

I wish they would come up with a better one for the R4 90 days is short. For an item that does not Roi until 330 days
