Sounds like a bank to me.

Yeah, on reading it again, it indeed sounds like a bank, lol Tongue

Just asking, will this have any legal or tax implications?
4482  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [NEW] Lending pool - Concept, feasibility and discussion. on: February 24, 2015, 07:34:25 PM
And who will take the decission to loan or not to loan?
Who will have acces to the wallets?
How many of us will participate?

1. Well the person who is operating it. We can have multiple people in for security. Smiley
2. All the lending pool operators.

3. Open to all. The depositing address could be used for reference in case the identity is not known and is an external user.

Is it possible to register without phone verification ?

Not currently, no. Email signups are set to come into play within a month.

I am desperately looking forward to that. Wink

I got from 200 sats to 4000 sats, I got lucky Roll Eyes

I went like that too with 1.5x. Lost all in the end though.

It has got only 4% edge compared to 40% for that 5x  Undecided
4485  Bitcoin / Project Development / [NEW] Lending pool - Concept, feasibility and discussion. on: February 24, 2015, 07:23:15 PM
I am thinking of a concept like this.

We make deposits to an address when we have spare funds. There will only be one address probably of Coinbase Vault.
We will also need one hot wallet for quick transactions of limited amounts.

We will pool deposits and give interest rate of say 0.25% to 0.5% a day regardless of whether the amount is lend or not.

We will give secured collateral loans for 0.75% or more interest a day which is cheaper than most of the rates here.
125% liquid collateral mandatory.

Then we can also use an escrow to hold a specific sum for a guarantee that we will not run away with it or something?

There will be a period of 3 days before a depositor will be able to get his funds back.

Is the concept feasiable? Will anyone be interested in this?

I dont know why you people are only seeing the one side of the things, if people dont even use these ponzi scheme, even dont deposit a single btc in these site, then how these site survive ?

I know your viewpoint.

Called domino effect. When a site pays out to a single user, others jump in expecting that it will continue to run.
The behavior is fueled by short term profits and it is not healthy to the community.

That is why it is a good idea for every willing member of the community to take an pledge to stop promoting or playing at a ponzi from now on. Let the current ponzis go on and end. It will all close in a few days. We should make a promise that we will not fuel any future ponzis made oin this thread from this moment..

Mining shouldn't be illegal in anywhere in the world.

It is like saying earning money (in commodities  Wink ) is illegal.
4490  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is announced bitcoin Ponzi/Pyramid Scheme illegal? on: February 24, 2015, 06:41:54 PM
Hi guys,
I know that pyramid scheme is illegal in many countries: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyramid_scheme

But a question rised in the Weekly Ponzi v3 thread. Is using this scheme illegal, if someone is marketing his website as a ponzi gambling site? Considering the fact that the ponzi is using btc and not fiat currency.

Hope some of you are more informed that I am  Smiley

Though people go by the way that ponzis are not fraud because it says that it IS a ponzi and it is clear to any rational investor, it is not so.
In the case, it would be more like gambling which is illegal on many jurisdictions.

If you play ponzi with gold, it is still a ponzi. So I think just because it uses bitcoin doesn't make it legal.
4491  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: If a country adopted bitcoin as their national currency, would the US still be a on: February 24, 2015, 06:38:48 PM
This year the US government (the IRS) declared that bitcoin is a commodity for tax purposes, not a currency.

If another country were to declare bitcoin their official national currency, would the IRS still be able to call bitcoin a commodity or would it be forced to relabel it a foreign currency?

Any country with some sense will not make Bitcoin their official currency. But however it is quite possible to make it one of the major currencies of the nation.
The volatility of price will just make it too risky to manage. Imports, exports, forex will be too complicated.
The price will go too high and what if some whale cashes out?

If a nation accepts it as a currency, then it should be deemed as a currency at least by current definition. Otherwise the dealings of US with the country will be Huh

I would prefer if email address is used instead of mobile number verification. It is easier for me..

Do you have any plans on implementing that? (or just making option for user to pick any one)

the OP is far better than any other ponzi operators I have seen, lol.
But this is a ponzi after all.

But, I certainly appreciate the way he refunded 0.5BTC to him. I have never seen a ponzi even refund 0.05BTC like this. Keep it up, lol. Cheesy

You could go ahead and start a decent site than a ponzi. You got the skills. Tongue

I am suspecting is this the weeklyponzi owner? Could be. May not be.

4498  Economy / Investor-based games / Ponzi discussion thread.. Time for it to go? on: February 24, 2015, 05:28:07 PM
I am quite confused.

I feel that we have a chanpion ponzi in 4 different ways it got introduced.

First HYIP, and you can find some infamous ones that scammed many coins. http://www.cnet.com/news/bitcoin-trader-mycoin-shutters-taking-387m-in-investor-funds/

Then came weeklyponzi. Different system. Attracted many. Successful. Scammed coins?

Then came CryptoDouble, 100 hour system. Attracted many. Successful. Went off with a giant loot.

Then btc-flow. Faucet system. Scam.

Is it that people like only a new kind of ponzi?
I have heard the claim that they are aware of the risks. And asked other to mind their own business other than warning them?

Isn't it time that we take a strong position against all ponzis, scam and hyips?

How about taking an oath that we will not invest in a ponzi from now?
(existing ones, let them be over.. or you won't take this seriously)

Let us clean up the board..
