4481  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTER Unable to Repay Customers on: February 21, 2015, 06:38:49 PM
that is really bad news, i have 500k bitbay and 2.79 Btc into my bter account,
so it means i've lost all because of bter inside job hack drama. Roll Eyes

Maybe yes, maybe not. Try to wait a little bit and they will activate the withdrawal for the rest of coins.
4482  Other / Meta / Re: my account was hacked someone try scam from it. on: February 21, 2015, 06:34:22 PM
Can you explain better what is happened ? I've seen you have changed the password at :

- Today at 05:41:42 PM - Slaxt - password changed

And after  ~ 1 minute you have opened this thread, check your pm inbox maybe the "hacker"  has tried to make some "damage".

hi red!!!
i'm asking how you can see this kind of users activity!!!
i check Slaxt profile page here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=221618
but im' not able to found this info!!!
where i need to check?

thanks!!

check here : https://bitcointalk.org/seclog.php  It is the list of the latest users that have changed the password ( period : 30 days).
4483  Other / Meta / Re: my account was hacked someone try scam from it. on: February 21, 2015, 06:29:06 PM
I see the messages where he tried to scam you

he didnt change the password luckily and i was able to change it

Now can you prove the ownership of the account with a simple signed message from one of yours old bitcoin address?
which address?

In your post history (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=221618;sa=showPosts) have you never post a bitcoin address ? Search it and sign a message from it , like :

Code:
I'm Slaxt and I'm the real owner of this account. 21/02/2015.

After post it in this thread (and don't forget the link of the post, where there is the bitcoin address).
4484  Other / New forum software / Re: Copying Code on: February 21, 2015, 06:26:53 PM
I agree with the OP, it would be a nice and useful function for the forum. It will help the dev and the various users to copy and paste more faster and with simplicity.

PS: Where is the |Thanks| button ? In this case it also would be helpful.

4486  Other / Meta / Re: Is it possible for trust to be removed ? on: February 21, 2015, 06:10:36 PM
Im pretty sure i posted negative feedback for some PONZI scammers and after a while my trust rating was gone from their profile.
How is that possible ?

No I don't think it is possible, if you left a negative feedback to someone only you can remove it. Maybe you have thought that you have left a negative trust but you haven't pressed the submit button.

4488  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTER.com hacked - 7170 BTC stolen [DON'T KEEP YOUR MONEY ON AN EXCHANGE] on: February 21, 2015, 05:56:14 PM
I have some CNY on that account - but live in the European Union. Is it possible to withdraw them to europe?

If you have a bank account open in CNY, I think you will be able to withdraw once you provide the corresponding info. And when they actually allow withdrawals, which they don't right now.

Someone has tried again to request a withdrawal ? I don't have any bitcoins in the site so I can't prove.  However why cny, usd & nxt for first ?

I have already explained the reasons somewhere in this thread. You don't read your own thread?

No I don't read all the posts // Sarcasm.

Maybe I've missed your post, now I will search it on your latest posts. Thanks.
4489  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: February 21, 2015, 05:51:56 PM
Then it's probably your monitor size. Works fine on chrome on mac.

Well, if I'm the first one to come up with this, maybe I'm the only one...

Can I ask you how resolution do you have at the moment ? Here with my 1366 x 768 horizontal I see all the signatures fine.

Bter.com ha riaperto, ma i prelievi sono ancora "bloccati". Questo il loro ultimo tweet : https://twitter.com/btercom/status/569113699232784386
4492  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The Bter Exchange Cold Wallet return to zero.... on: February 21, 2015, 02:23:06 PM
I heard that cold wallets can be hacked. But never expected BTER to be hacked, specially because they are expected to keep it much much much more secure.
You heard wrong ...

Yes, it is almost impossible to hack a cold wallet because :

- it is offline
- you don't know which wallet they have used,
- again , it is "offline".

If they had a malware/virus on their offline pc, in this case it was possible to "hack" the cold wallet.  However bter has opened.
4493  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTER.com hacked - 7170 BTC stolen [DON'T KEEP YOUR MONEY ON AN EXCHANGE] on: February 21, 2015, 02:22:31 PM
They have to open Bitcoin withdrawals immediately. People patiently waiting for days.

My friend told me he can't withdraw his btc, can you confirm ? Do you have the same problem ?

All their bitcoin were hacked. What would they have for you to withdraw?!

Wrong they still own  ~ hundreds of bitcoins in their hot wallet, it is their choice if repay all the bitcoin or at least a percentual. They can also convert their "cold wallets of their various altcoin" and repay the costumers, it is a "difficult" scenario/story.

Wasn't I telling you the same two posts earlier? You write down or print the transaction on paper (memorize it if you are that brutal) and then enter it into the client connected to the Internet (through a site or whatever) manually.

Yes, but once that you have created the transaction no one can "modify" it.
So also if the hacker/malicious user catch it , he can't do nothing

The matter in question is not about possibility of "modifying" transactions (or lack thereof) but about ways of stealing private keys. So, if your "cold" wallet is not connected to the Internet when you generate a new transaction (actually, even if it is never connected to the Internet, or was, or will), this in general doesn't guarantee that it can't be compromised in the end.

That's all, and let's finally call it a day.

If the pc is clean, and it never has been connected on internet (after/before) the generation of the transaction I think you can be "sure" at 99% that it is safe. You have also to check every usb key before connect it on the cold wallet's pc , and also check all the other devices (but it is better to not connect any device in the cold wallet's pc).

So at the end as you told there are a multiple things to check, and the 100% of security does not exist.
4499  Other / New forum software / Re: Like button idea ? on: February 21, 2015, 11:14:05 AM
Yes i think its a good idea. Some will get the idea how many people liked his thread.
But if there is a liked button then there must be a dislike button.
this is not youtube Grin but if we need something better socialcomunity then http://in-galaxy.com/ join here

I think we need a thanks button for avoid the spam posts like : +1 , thank,  etc....   It would be a nice feature in the new forum software.

Yes, but once that you have created the transaction no one can "modify" it.
So also if the hacker/malicious user catch it , he can't do nothing (only broadcast it ).

However if someone want to  broadcast my transaction, it would be very appreciated (the destination address is : 18dysRPYmsmFz7tWM99TQ3F9pV7aa3Mqat "I think";  after the broadcast of the tx check it on the blockchain, thanks).
