It is illegal by design.

All legal "adoptions" are just dreams which will be burned.

Could you tell me more? Why is it illegal by design and which country has the right to prohibit its use?
Bitcoin is anonymous and resistant to any kind of regulation by design.

It is illegal by nature.

It fucks with the status quo, of course it is illegal by nature

whats illegal about keeping our transaction log distributed?

i don't get it...

Controlling monetary supply = ruling.

Bitcoin could have the potential to endanger the position of the most powerful men in the world, if it really gets serious they won't hand over their power without a fight. And obviously they would very likely win that fight.

I don't agree with the last sentence. There have been many succesful revolutions during history. Why wouldn't we succeed?

Because still BTC value is related to fiat, and they control fiat. We really need to break the loop and FORGET about fiat to have a chance, and this is not happening.
4484  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are people getting greedy again so soon?? on: April 18, 2013, 09:38:28 PM
That causes other people to take is seriously too including the 20,000+ a day of new people signing up to MtGox. Many of these people are get quick rich newbs, but plenty of others will genuinely love the concept and will join as new 'true believers.'
What if I truly believe in the concept and believe I will get rich from it at the same time(we're still early adopters, a few years into the future, if it achieves widespread adoption, having 1 bit coin will be like having a gold bar)?

I'm seeing this all the time, both in these forums and surrounding me. People saying "nice it popped, now I can get on board and wait for the next bubble"

Kinda sad and pathetic if you ask me

4488  Economy / Economics / We need to break the loop FIAT->BTC->FIAT on: April 18, 2013, 04:02:36 PM
Everybody is speaking about how BTC is deflationary... Well, didn't you see how its value just got from $266 to $100 in hours? What was that, the USD deflating?

We mustn't fool ourselves. Bitcoin is not going to be truly deflationary nor a safe store of value if we don't break the loop. While the "value" of Bitcoin is established with its exchange rate for FIAT... We are just fucked, and it will just be a TOY for speculation, while being very vulnerable to attacks from its enemies.

Think about the most likely attack to BTC from its natural enemy, the FED: they own fiat money, and if they feel BTC is a danger for them, they can just pump it to the fucking sky to crash it to almost $0. Explain then about how it is a "store of value" to those who lose everything. How do we avoid that? Breaking the fucking loop FIAT->BTC->FIAT.

We need business that set their prices in BTC, and pay all their costs (including salaries) in BTC. We need to break the laces with fiat money. When we do that, then we will have a really deflationary currency that will truly serve as a store of value. Until BTC's value is related with the exchange rate with fiat... We are fucked, and it will be useless as soon as the FED decides it has to go.

4490  Economy / Speculation / Re: Yup, still feeling bearish. on: April 18, 2013, 03:48:39 PM
I think is bad we didn't had a REAL correction, down to $30ish and then stabilizing at no more than $50ish. I think $100 per coin is overvalued at this point, and the price is so high only because newcomers feel that they are getting cheap coins and want to be part of the next bubble.

There is a fundamental difference with the 2011 bubble: now everybody expects BTC to recover and go into bubble mode again, sooner or later. People is not screaming SCAM! like in 2011, people today is screaming WHAT A NICE PONZI! I WANT TO GET IN EARLY AND BE PART OF IT!

In fact, after the bubble burst I've been called by 5 friends who wired me A LOT of fiat to buy them bitcoins through my Gox's verified account. It's crazy, I could live all we have left in 2013 just taking 10% of what they gave me. All of them say: hey, now that the bubble popped, is a good time to enter and wait for the next one!

I have to admit that I'm amused by the fact of making a very nice profit doing NOTHING, but at the same time all this makes me sad. I hate seeing friends I love and respect entering into Bitcoin ONLY because is bubble-prone and ponzi-like (let's state the truth, as all commodities Bitcoin has all the characteristics of a Ponzi except that no one is promising you guaranteed returns... Well, some hardcore true believers do)

At the end of the day, buying $30K in BTC it's a PAIN IN THE ASS for the average Joe. Going through MtGox, etc... Is slow and painful. And then, cashing out significant amounts of fiat from the system is even more difficult. This for me means that $100 BTC/USD is very overvalued, and that price is just based on the expectation of riding the next bubble. I think this is not healthy, and I would prefer much more a rapid downtrend to $30ish, to then grow again with people really USING BTC, while businesses acceptance of the currency grows in parallel.

7K is not bad.....I am just not trying to do double digits. Especially since now people are talking about Rigs that can pull 1TH in the near future.

Well, you said you wanted 100-200GHs for $2.5k, maximum you will get is 10GHs for $7k. You can bid here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178275.msg1874563#msg1874563
4492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 18, 2013, 03:06:07 PM
Goddammit this thread is more dense than swollen nutsacks after a marathon game of Roshambo!. Well, I can do 3-4k

With that budget you can order 50GHs from BFL that will arrive to you in June... 2014.

Nowadays nobody is going to sell you ASICs for $3-4K. Maybe in a couple of months, maybe in September... But not now. Guaranteed.

For that budget look for FPGAs, forget about ASIC. Cheapest ASIC at the moment is 10GHs ASICMINER blade, which are been auctioned for aprox. 70BTC ($7.000) each. There is a post on the auction forum, bid to get it if you're really so interested in buying.
4493  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: I have 2.5k I NEED A ASIC RIG on: April 18, 2013, 02:35:39 PM
The title explains most of it.

I am looking to buy a Rig to use ASAP. I am not worrying about Electricity since I get it free.

Willing to deal with Escrow.

Let me paraphrase your message.

"I am looking to buy a thing which generates $1000 per day for $2500 ASAP."

Yeah, BitcoinHarlemite = joker.
4494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 18, 2013, 02:34:12 PM
Do you guys do Escrow??

I wanna buy. I just don't wanna get fucked over..I need something that is capable of 100-200GH/Sec

You are not going to find that for $2.5K as you are suggesting in other threads.

Make your own research and prepare to add a zero to your budget for something BELOW 100GHs
4495  Economy / Speculation / Re: All my friends now interested in bitcoin !! on: April 18, 2013, 09:28:18 AM
So I was talking about bitcoin many months ago when I invested.

Now everyone's coming back to me because they've seen it on the news and they're hooked!

This is why I still bought in at $95 cause it makes me think there's pressure for it to go up.

Especially now it looks like it's reached bottom.

Seen some huge purchases lately.

If we break through 100 I imagine a wall is going to form somewhere around 90, but I know that's a big if..

How the hell did you buy so near to an obvious resistance point ($100)? It's so clear you will be able to buy at least $10 cheaper ($85ish), why do you people like to give away your money?

Well, I guess that's where speculators make their profit.

Well it's not clear that I can buy at 85... $1.17M needs to be sold to get to 85..

I've lost too many times trying to place buy orders at a value, and the price has shot past it..

I tried it in the 30s the 40s, and finally in the 70s I decided I'd buy at market unless I had a good reason not to.

Now that I'm trading in USD it's probably not so bad, but I didn't want to miss out, on the wall crashing down

Man, you know those numbers (eg. $1.17M needs to be sold to get $85) are just fake walls that vanish when the price goes down, right?

$100 is huge resistance point and there will be volatility around that psychological barrier (which is b/e point for a lot of people), it is difficult to know for sure if price will go down to $65ish in the next few hours/days (it's likely, but no one can be sure), but you can bet that price will go at $85 all the time (well, in fact we touched less than $83 just 22 hours ago).

I mean, BTC is volatile, try to take advantage of that or others will do (with your money).
4496  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who's lost money? Some people must have on: April 18, 2013, 09:15:45 AM
I guess only real noobs lost money. Heck, this was SO fast that only the absolute newcomers could have bought a significant amount of BTC above $100 (which is the aprox. price we stabilized at).

ORSoC are legit alright.
Registered 1991, 11 employees and turnover of slightly over 10,000,000 SEK ($1,500,000) for 2012.
Found several news articles about them as well.

Good news. So they are legit, only concern is that they may not be able to develop such an ambitious project, which happened to bASIC and BFL.

If they do not take advance money until they have a working prototype we should be OK
4499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 17, 2013, 05:23:04 PM
After speaking with ORSoC CEO, I can confirm that he guarantees KNCminer is NOT a scam.

Nevertheless, I cannot guarantee ORSoC is legit, but they seem to be. I would recommend some of our Swedish fellow Hero Members to do a background check on ORSoC, just to be sure.

Last but not least: I offer myself to visit KNCminer to test one of their products and to vouch for them in front of the community.

4500  Economy / Speculation / Re: this is insane again on: April 17, 2013, 04:59:16 PM
This whole crash was a bear trap, just watch  Wink

If last week's action was a bear trap, four digits will be a strong possibility. If the mentioned action wasn't a bear trap but some large insider selling, in this scenario we'll have a healthier market in the long run, still we'll see four digits but it'll take more time to reach that levels. What do you think?

4 digits either way. The only question is this year or the next one. And I do not care much what is the answer to this question.

Let's see how soon we break $100 and then $130. I believe this crash was needed and very healthy, parabolic growth is unsustainable. We need weak hands selling at their b/e point.
