Rob, I dont know how you handle all the trolls and haters, just know I support you and what you're doing and so do a lot of others! <3

adrianbits has revealed himself, I believe he is curiousminder on the BiblePay reddit: https://www.reddit.com/user/curiousminder
he created a subreddit called /r/biblepayscam LOL

znffal I dont think Rob was upset with you at all, so no worries, it was directed at adrianbits, he was just replying to your price calibration comments in the same post

Oh OK thanks...
Adrian you must be holding bbp and trying to crash the price a little so you can buy more.

I had someone tempering with my pool login ( got an email from the pool with a pwd recovery instructions ) .

Would it make sense to force TLS ( https )  on the http port for the pool .
Currently it allows both http and https .
It's abvious hacking attempts will just intensify as BBP gets stronger .

Oh really? So now they are trying to brute force the login page...
I just put in a feature where there will be a 5 second delay for every bad password entered.

I havent had any other reports of these password links, but I guess that is the next natural hacking attempt to be made.

As far as forcing SSL, it would protect those credentials when people are subject to man in the middle attacks, such as coffee shops.  Its not a bad idea, but it wouldnt stop them from brute forcing the https:// login page.

bible_pay will f8000 disable big miners with multi wallet mining? xeons machines with 12c/24t= 24wallets with cpuprotlimit=8 example  Wink  thanks

Yes!  Thank God!

Now you are better off with one instance of BiblePay!

Tiras, are you running one instance on the 'problem node' or multiple?

I am so used to sitting here and programming Ive had all my nodes tied up in testnet for 90 days (NOT Making Any Money LOL) so Ill point them at the pool now and let you know Tiras.

EDIT:  One other thing you can try- see if http://pool2.biblepay.org has the same issue?
Ill bounce the pool also.  Havent bounced it in over a month.

Yeah, its kind of funny I only hear negativity after being the first to have ecommerce in the wallet.

Yes, the price is dynamic it changes hourly.  It includes shipping.

We would have to sell 100 bibles a month to break even, but we have the kiddies here who think we could stay in business by giving packs of gum away for free.

Oh yes lets cry poor. Let this kiddie do the math for other kiddies:

- $2490 from the 8% pool fee (221214 coins/24hrs = 17697 bbp per day)
- $1250 - $7356 PER sanctuary . You should soon publish stats on how many you got from that

Does that not cover your 'costs'Huh

Where is the personal data from the orders sent? How can we trust its secure?

Rob - the thing with you is you are not transparent and then the math speaks for itself. Then when I call you out on it, you delete to try to hide that truth.

You are making MOUNDS of money so do not cry poor. No one is stupid here.

In case of deletion,

"$1250 - $7356 PER sanctuary . You should soon publish stats on how many you got from that"
You know that Rob doesn't make money from you running a sanctuary? I don't think you understand how escrow works.
The coins are not transferred or given to anyone. They are STILL YOURS. You lock them in to run a masternode, but you can withdraw them at anytime and close your node.

Come on man, who sells the coins?? Who can supply 1.5 million BBP?? If not Rob and his early miner team then who?
You tell me other miners are selling to other miners instead of running their own nodes

archive link http://archive.is/LahUw

1) The pool income is not $2490, its $249.00 and its not in the black, its in the red.  The pool fee gets lowered when it gets almost back in the black-its dynamic, not static.  So, kiddie math is incorrect.

2) $1250-$7356 to who?  To the users who have sanctuaries, I dont get a penny from sanctuaries unless I went out to c-cex and bought 1.5 MM biblepay to run one.  Kiddie math.  So line #2 is zero.

But, more importantly you forgot about the expenses.  $60 per month for the pool node, development and maintenance - volunteered, and answering the emails every day from the pool users (I guess that is worthless too).

4) Did you forget the compassion expenses?  The letter writing integration with compassion?  The API for the SAN?  The SAN to store the PDFs?  The HTTPS certs?  The web hosting?  The web site host?

"You are making MOUNDS of money so do not cry poor. No one is stupid here."

-> Not correct, on both issues, the pool is running at a net loss - For the orphans.

Who has the coins and who sells them is irrelevant. Your comment was suggesting that the escrow amount went to the pool/dev which is incorrect and (whether intentional or not) very misleading.

Also, I checked on Amazon, the cheapest I could find shipping (for new not used) for the bible was $3.83. So $3.83 + $5.41 = $9.24

Thats good to know.  The real math being used by the API is something like the last hourly trading midpoint for product+shipping marked up about 25%, and the 25% covers the integration fee for the API and exchange rate risk - where exchange rate risk is the act of the pool Selling to recoup its dollars back that it spent on the product on its corporate credit account.  Imagine if I sell $1000 of items in one day and end up with BBP, the API has to sell the BBP back to get the USD to pay the monthly invoice.

Its so naive and childish to assume the API is profiting from this... Its actually quite funny.

Check it out, I can ship a bible to New Zealand!

https://imgur.com/mKrnwF3

EDIT: Interestingly, for this product it is the same price to ship to USA.

Thats cool, good to know.  The country USA is locked in our API currently though, but NZ and EU will be next if we get enough orders...

Hi Rob,

Please don't mistake my comments for negativity, I apologise if it came across that way. I think you know that I am very excited about the Amazon e-commerce connection Smiley !
Because I work in mathematics I guess my mind is on time-series data. In fact, in my work I often have to reduce "noise" in a set of data, so perhaps my comments were sub-consciously channeling my work!

Really appreciate this latest development. We should be sure to advertise this to the masses!

Thanks

I know, I had a quick reaction based on AdrianBits' kiddie argument.

Not directed to you!  Sorry guys.

Leasing Fractional Sanctuaries

Btw, if we can simplify the idea and remove any regulatory risk, we still might be able to lease fractional sancs.  I just dont want this to become a support nightmare or drain dev resources.

Im going to take a look at keeping the funds in a cold wallet off site.  Maybe we can have one test sanctuary in the next two months to see how this goes, we'll see.  (Im thinking maybe the pool will go out and rent one first, and then just have the UI for the lease portion only with a very simple buy or terminate option).

This it the bible on amazon

https://www.amazon.com/NKJV-Bible-Larger-Print-Paperback/dp/0718083296

Selling for $5.41

1918 BBP = aprox ($9)

(no doubt this will be deleted, as usual, for pointing out the truth about things...)

This will be because of the rapidly changing BBP/USD ratio. Rob put these on the pool quite a while back and the BBP worth has increased since then.

Perhaps there is a way to have a dynamic "price" for a product? This is difficult because people could take advantage of "pump and dumps". In theory they could dump the price, but a product more cheaply, and then pump the price back up to a higher level.

May I suggest then that the dynamic "price" of a product be something like the 30 day (or some other timeline) moving average price of BBP.

EDIT: Also, does this include the shipping costs?

What is the ETA for masternodes going live? Lat time I heard it was around Christmas?

Now the eta is tomorrow for the actual Sanctuary go-live (IE to see the sanctuaries in the list), then sometime over the weekend we are going to see if sanctuary payments work.

It was moved a little earlier because of all the drama with the exchanges but that deal fell through.

4515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay - New Coin Launch - Official Thread on: December 15, 2017, 12:22:03 AM

They are basically closing for a month when most exchanges are open 24/7

Rob, when you get a chance, since the other exchanges broke their covenant with you, can you share what exchanges they were?  And since this was a negotiated price for being a charity crypto, what price would they accept no matter what type of coin to list on their exchanges?

Also, will 1 controller wallet work for multiple masternodes, so you would just need the multiple of the number of biblepay in the controller wallet?
10-4 on closing for a month, but we don't know how many consecutive days Yuri the owner has worked since he started, he might have never had a vacation.  Anyway not sure if you know the story but ccex was the exchange that was broken in very early in their lifetime and I think the hackers took 900 BTC.  Somehow he funded the business enough with his personal money and kept going even through the lull a few years ago and did it by blocking an equal amount of withdrawals (in BTC) across all accounts.  Miraculously over time, he made enough profit to make up for it.  When I talked to him about a month ago on skype, he had finally broken even.  So I guess its time for a real vacation finally.  I have to give him credit for his perseverance, its unbelievable he worked for negative all this time.

The exchanges were Binance and HitBtc.  Lets wait before we jump to conclusions, until after I get my money back.  Im still waiting for my 3.5btc refund on the deal.  Once I know the exact nature of the situation Ill do everything I can to reach Binance and Hits Sr managers and find out if I got scammed by a perpetrator or not impersonating sr mgmt.  Its a sick feeling to be down 3.5 btc.

On the controller, yes, you can have as many sancs hooked up to one controller as you want, and yes, if you have 10 sancs, then you need the 15.5 MM bbp in the controller wallet (to be safe) this way you can keep it encrypted and or offsite etc.

I didn't know the back story on Yuri and C-cex.  I wish they could have someone there to keep deposits and withdrawals going, though.  But I am thankful for his listing of bbp and admire him returning the btc.  We should pray for you as a community that you get your bitcoin back and the situation comes to a better resolution.

Is the windows wallet update ready now?

Yes!  Windows is ready for download:

https://www.biblepay.org

1.0.6.5.

I am seeing a 50% drop in Hashes per second2 and shares reported with the mandatory upgrade

2 machines on vultr. Both identical settings (they were clones). Older client appears faster/more efficient at mining than new one.

Hoping this is not a case of false positives. I will delay upgrading as long as I can. Sucks to be downgraded by the new algo, the 8% mining fees, etc.
Not possible.  Please ask a few others here, HPS changes dont go into effect for another 140 blocks.

Good idea.   I think I will take time to do that.  Once I know the nature of the situation Ill expose it.

In terms of pool mining, if I update my servers now I can just close my eyes and leave them through Christmas and New year and they will keep on mining?

Thanks again

Theoretically, yes.  As long as we dont need another release, and I pray we dont.

Regarding that ccex post, if all goes well this weekend with us Ill skype him and see if he can bring us up before he leaves on vacation.

4520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay - New Coin Launch - Official Thread on: December 14, 2017, 11:04:14 PM

What does that mean exactly?

Can the old nodes still mine on the pool?

I was answering based on what happens to the lone machines who dont upgrade.  They end up going into solo mining mode, and any block they find on a fork cant be cashed in for BTC.

They will end up going solo because the tip they are mining in the pool will not match after block 21350.

If one were to gain 100,000 bbp alone on a fork, once they upgrade, the wallet will erase that extra bonus balance.
