4501  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] Mellow Ads - simple, bitcoin advertising - FREE 0.01 BTC OFFER on: June 26, 2015, 02:04:16 AM
Sounds great, am I still able to earn while it's network advertising only?

Of course, you will get a share of network advertiser pool depending on the number of unique views your ad space gets each day.
At the end of each day (UTC) this is calculated and credited to your account automatically.
The pool is quite small at the moment so we can't guarantee a large income until this increases but it is going up every day Smiley

So it's kind of like A-Ads right now, only based on uniques per site instead of uniques network-wide, correct?

And is the CPM addition later something that advertisers can opt in to or not do? i.e., will the network-wide ads still be available, just with the added benefit of being able to choose specific sites?

This thread's old but wasn't sure where else to ask... are there any more planned freerolls? Or are they all buy-ins? I saw a thread from 2013 talking about freerolls.

I think that you refer to this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=241687.100. But that's very old thread by the first owner, and the first owner sold the site in January 2014. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=414121.0
And I think the site do not need freerolls anymore, since the site has many active players both in ring games and GTD tourney.

Ohhh, thanks for that. I wasn't aware that it changed owners. And major sites have a lot of ring games going as well but still have freerolls (it helps entice MORE players taking part in ring games, which increases site revenue).
4503  Economy / Gambling / Re: winning tricks Calling Outs and ODDS Poker (POKER LOUNGE) on: June 26, 2015, 12:11:24 AM
I think there are no tricks in poker
It's all about maths and psychology, you have to know your chances and you have to know to read the opponents mannerism and strategies

It's more psychology than anything. You will NOT be consistently cashing in tournaments just by playing odds. In fact, you won't win many at all. Once you get the analyzing opponents part down, you can win a tournament without ever knowing what your hole cards are. 99% of the time when I buy a pot I don't even know what my cards were, because they don't matter. What matters is what the other person is going to do when I call/raise. Once you understand them, you can do extremely well.
4504  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetterBets.io - Bitcoin Casino ★DICE★HORSE RACING★Introducing NEW Power PLINKO! on: June 26, 2015, 12:08:15 AM
So in essence you want a basic plinko bot? Noted but no ETA yet.

Yeah, I think that would help with increasing play on it, and reduce the chances of carpal tunnel, :p.
4505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just-Dice.com : Invest in 1% House Edge Dice Game on: June 25, 2015, 11:55:56 PM
As of right now his 1000 CLAMs onsite has grown to 1491, and his offsite amount is still 99k, so now his multiplier is only 67.4x
You should think to make an option that keeps the offsite maxed in case you want so and you go on a trip for a week or something, or just too lazy to do it day by day if you just leave it there.

Keeping the offsite maxed is quite difficult thing to do with it changing every single bet.

Also you know it doesn't work well if everyone has offsite maxed.

This. The more people doing offsite, the more you have to offsite to keep up. If holders of 99% of the coins do max., then you choose to either max out with them or just divest altogether as you won't get anything.
4506  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetterBets.io - Bitcoin Casino ★DICE★HORSE RACING★Introducing NEW Power PLINKO! on: June 25, 2015, 11:54:42 PM
i gave this place a chance tonight. a few positives i wanna point out for all you new guys out there looking for a place to gamble. for all the plinko lovers this game has some amazing features IMO. you can change your odds, the number of pins, and the slope(which im assuming means how fast the ball drops). basically instead of being stuck with set odds like the other plinko sites you have a chance to change things up. if you like plinko stop by and check out the place to see how it works. you may make your own luck n become a rich guy.

theres also a raffle feature here which seems pretty cool. for every 500 bets above 0 satoshis you get a raffle ticket towards their monthly prize. cant beat a chance at free money right?

1 bad thing i didnt like was only being able to bet one ball at a time on plinko. i was assured this is changing though.

im sure theres more i could say but its late and i didnt play around a ton. ill stop by the next couple days and see if i should add more to this.

Thank you for your suggestion. As you probably know, we take user input very seriously. As such, we'll investigate changing the code to accommodate this feature. More news on this in the near future.

Thank you for your input.

You asked for a Plinko rain feature, we delivered!

You can now launch multiple Plinko discs! After a 25 millisecond delay, you can click any of the 3 launch buttons again. Please note that the sliders to change odds are disabled until the last launched disc has dropped into a payout slot.

Please also note that depending on the power of your PC, launching a lot of disks may result in a animation stuttering as your CPU tries to keep up.

Reminder: we highly suggest you use Google Chrome to access our site, especially so if you want to play Plinko!

This is an awesome feature, Smiley. May also be helpful to set up a line, like:

I choose to launch 1000 of them, with a delay of 25ms. I can pick yellow/green/red, or have it like the dice to swap between them (such that I could make it do 5 green, 5 yellow, 5 red... and follow that cycle).

I think people are misunderstanding what faucets are for. We see many posts a day now from newbies asking how they can get rich hosting a faucet. The ones that make $10k+ a month aren't doing it from the faucet -- they use the faucet to drive traffic to their main site. This greed from people trying to cash in on faucets is what's killing it, though. It's largely why I haven't really kept up with my rotator -- scam faucets are popping up daily, and many people start them hoping to get rich and then ditch them when they realize it's not going to happen.

Hahaha thats an old marketing tactic, they also use to put exit popups on their websites like "Why do you want to leave empty handed", sometimes its a double popup or triple one.

There are all sorts of shady marketing tactics, but most of them are inefficient and only annoy people

In the beginning, none of this was true. Faucets gave out coins with NO advertisements at all -- just an address spot and a claim. In fact, they didn't even have captchas. The whole point was to help Bitcoin take off the ground. Note that back then, they also gave out 0.25+ BTC per claim as well (but they had little value so people bitched about how they were worthless).

After a while, some people released theirs with captchas to "fight bots," and that became the adopted standard. This I don't fault them for.

Then came a couple ads, usually related to a-ads, as a way to "pay for hosting." They weren't annoying, though, and were just like any other site.

Then came late 2013, with the ATH. All of a sudden a flood of people come in that are trying to "get rich" off Bitcoin, and think faucets are the way to do it. It was this that spawned the whole "let's spam popups and ads and hope people accidentally click them so we can get a couple cents!" scenario we still face today.

Utter bullshit..., better buy some CON and hope for the world to go full insane Wink
If a gambler would find out a strategy this good, he would become one of the richest persons, but if this was so easy many mathematicians would have done so already, while in fact no such strategy exists...

Exactly. There is a way to lower the house edge on a lot of sites, but they don't work in real casinos and still leave the house with the advantage. Not to mention, things like martingale (the theoretically bulletproof system) doesn't work because tables have a maximum bet, so once that's hit you've screwed yourself.

Hi guys! Grin
I saved some money in the last year, now I'm looking for some opportunity in this kind of market to invest my money. Is it better buy altcoins or bitcoin? maybe mining? I'm just a bit confused, but determinate!
If you have some cash flow already, you can invest directly in startups and other funds in various markets, provided you know what you're doing. There's some risk or just buy and hold BTC

I recommend NOT investing in ANY crypto business. I have yet to see even one that isn't severely over-inflating their value to take advantage of people that know nothing about investing and will blindly throw their money at everything. This is why no reputable crypto business offers investment opportunities here: they only take them privately. Because no real investor is stupid enough to throw their money away.

UPDATE TO THE FAUCET LIST & DESIGN

1)
● Ok I have removed many ads from my list, some of them werent paying enough ,so it had no reason to wreck the design for a few hundred satoshis.
● Made my list clean and very visible, i`m still working on the design right now as we speak, so i might change some colors to make it more eye-friendly

2)
● I`ve noticed alot of faucets nowadays have added a new countdown timer to them, which is pretty annoying, and seen from my statistics (from faucetbox) faucet users dont really use these faucets, so i have no reason to feature them then, so i`ll just remove all faucets from my list that have this countdown timer.

The countdown timer looks like: "Please wait 30 seconds , in the meantime check out our sponsors" , and then the button appears, i think its intolerable to make them wait that much for nothing. I mean for video ads a 10 second ad is worth atleast 0.5$, so since faucets dont pay that much, they cannot force their users to wait that long.

● I`ll also remove faucets which play shady games with their button, they hide their button, or make you wait alot to see it, or just open up 10 popups when you click on it

2) faucetbtcs.com is permanently banned from my list, they are bankrupt, but now instead of filling up their faucets, when you click on the claim button they redirect you to another webiste to view more ads, pretty dishonest in my opinion  Grin

3) Also the moneyinpjs.com site is bankrupt again, man you should really focus on filling up the site at time, otherwise you lose credibility from your faucet users Smiley

Dude, huge +1 on this. Not sure if you're aware but I run a faucet rotator and it's nice to see I'm not the only one taking a stand. I had to prune ~40 sites yesterday due to annoying tactics like countdown timers and anti-adblocks. I'm only supporting the sites that aren't annoying as crap to use. I think the faucet niche has been drowned out by greedy owners that are willing to harass their members in the hopes they can get a few extra cents.

Yes and not just that, but also they start to hide the button, or simply dont have it.

http://p-free.info/

They are the shadies of them all, they make you wait 30 seconds, and also put the button in a very hidden place at the bottom.

But i saw faucets that didnt had buttons at all, and you couldnt claim wit the enter, they are just pure clickbait, and no reward.

But i`m still in maintenance, i think i have to cut my list down to TOP 15, it seems to me that the faucet industry is shrinking, and the quality faucets are less and less.

I think people are misunderstanding what faucets are for. We see many posts a day now from newbies asking how they can get rich hosting a faucet. The ones that make $10k+ a month aren't doing it from the faucet -- they use the faucet to drive traffic to their main site. Got around the site and checked it. So, the minimum investment is 10BTC?
Where can i see the hourly? It only says in the bank is 8% Annualised interest rate.

Bank with 8% is no minimum.  It is the higher rates "financing" I think they call it that is 10BTC min.
Correct.
No... I believe that there is a 10 BTC maximum in which you will receive interest for.  The financing option can still be active if you have less BTC, it's just that the BTC must be held in that "bank" for a certain amount of months.

Everything you wrote is incorrect.  10BTC min for "financing" (they just did this a while ago, if you got in before you could have less than 10 coins in financing).  There is no maximum to invest, there is a max to withdraw at once.  There is no requirement than any be held in the bank.  Where are you getting your info, just making it up?  Read Eric's posts and you will see.

+1. Or just use the site... site itself even says 10 BTC minimum for financing and won't let you finance for any less.

Just a little insight on our internal decisions, we are discussing a referral/affiliate program for BetterBets, it has been already asked for over 20 times by different players/bloggers/reviewers. Any feedback on this idea is welcome, it would probably be similar to Primedice as we feel theirs is quite fair (10% of 1% of house edge). If anyone feels this is a good or bad idea please explain so we can receive input from all sides, thanks.

Rollin has the best one I've seen so far dice-wise. They start users out at 10% but with a request (for those that have real sites and aren't just spamming links) they will increase it to 23%.

4518  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetterBets.io - Bitcoin Casino ★Dice & Horse Racing★ Secured by Moneypot.com on: June 24, 2015, 11:45:17 PM
Dear BetterBets players and friends,

as part of our 1-month anniversary we ran some statistical analytics on our database in order to get a more precise picture of where we stand and how things are developing. During these investigations we discovered a discrepancy which lead us to discover that our house edge calculations contained a rounding error which under certain circumstances would put our players at a disadvantage, especially so when gambling against very low (player) odds. We have spent the past few days altering our house-edge calculation code and running extensive tests to ensure that all bets will be conducted at a 1% house edge (during normal operations) and the appropriate house edge during Happy Hour and Luck Forging. We have pushed the new code into production and verified that it works as desired.

As soon as we receive a final list of affected users from MoneyPot.com, we will credit each affected user double the amount they lost due to these faulty calculations. The number of affected people is small, but given the different time zones of all parties involved, you should expect this compensation to reach your MoneyPot.com account within the next 24 hours. If you log into your account and notice you have more BTC than you logged off with, this is the reason why. Once again our most sincere apologies for this; we are committed to running a fair gambling site and will continue to bring out new features in an effort to become your favorite Bitcoin Casino.

I just wanted to give everybody an update on this: our database is churning through a multi-gigabyte table in order to get a list of all affected users and the exact amount of BTC we owe them. It took longer than expected to get the query right (it has to perform some on-the-fly calculations) and the actual execution of the query is significantly slower than we expected.

Once we have the list of people and the relevant amounts, we will refund everybody. Rest assured, this refund will happen and it will happen soon.

We appreciate your understanding in the meantime.

Hi Everybody,

the refunds have been deposited to the affected players' accounts.

We refunded 0.41478478 BTC to 29 players; this amount represents 2x the actuall amount our players were disadvantaged for. Once again, we apologize for the error in our mathematics and hope that this gesture underscores our commitment to be correct and accountable to our players and to provide a fair betting environment.

We would also like to note that the math was in our players' favor for some bets. For those bets, we absorbed the cost (as is only fair, as it was our mistake).

It is indeed a gesture that emanates confidence for all users. I did not expect another attitude than this, from this great staff.

I completely agree. This is a great sign... they could have just as easily fixed the problem while acting like it didn't exist. So this shows character.

Hey all! So I wanted to report on my experience!

*I made a deposit on 06/14/2015, and a couple more after that
*Interest has always been paid every hour (and you can see interest history as well, on the site)
*Today I made a withdrawal attempt. It was processed in about 30 seconds, and they paid the fee (0.0001 BTC), so it's not charged when you withdraw

So, while I've only been with them a short while, things are looking good so far.

Also, @HaoBTC: I reviewed your site on Cryptoplace, Smiley.

So, is this website legit? Should I invest too? Thank you for your future help Smiley

Everything worked as expected for me. That said, it's like anything else in the crypto world: nothing is certain. Mt. Gox was proof of that. So I really can't say whether or not anyone should invest, whether it be here, or Coinbase (a very reputable exchange), or anything else. You'll have to decide that on your own.
