4501  Other / Off-topic / Re: What wallets do you use? on: June 27, 2017, 09:06:23 PM
There were so many similar threads. I remember posting in one not long ago.

What's the purpose of asking people what wallet they're using for the 10th time when you could open statistics and check which ones are the most popular?
4502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel about local crypto-currencies? on: June 27, 2017, 09:04:34 PM
I don't support the creation of new altcoins. Most of them are pump and dump schemes and eventually 99% of altcoins will end up being worthless. They aren't in any way superior and there's not enough room for so many coins to be used. I can understand coins made for certain purpose like gambling, but we already have too many.
4503  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is God male or female? on: June 27, 2017, 08:59:56 PM
Which sex is God?

Does He have a penis or a vagina?

If He has either...and there is only one God...why would he need reproductive organs?

God doesnt have any gender, He is beyond that...He is a SPIRIT, the Creator od all things, Alpha and Omega..the Beginning and the Last
I agree with the first part, it doesn't have a gender... because it doesn't exist.
There's no god or gods, there's nobody watching over us and there's no heaven waiting for us after death. Our energy will simply become one with the universe and possibly find its way into another human being. Reincarnation is real if you didn't know.
4504  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Negative effects of technology on: June 27, 2017, 08:55:31 PM
technology has fucked us big time., it sure did help us too., but now people are active in social media instead of really socializing with friends and family and going out.

its not just social media i blame, but the technology has made us sit at one place in front of computer 8-12 hours a day so we can make a living.
sign of times.
This is their personal choice and not an effect of technology. Really not everyone uses social media, I sure don't.
It's important to see the difference between technology, which is computer, television, internet, and social media and streams of information that are being transmitted by these inventions. We have to learn to navigate this pieces of information and intake only the important bits, while ignoring the rest.
4505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are You Holding On To Your Bitcoin? on: June 27, 2017, 07:55:08 PM
If you bought at above $2000 it might be a good idea to sell. You'd not only protect your investment, but have a chance to accumulate more if it breaks the support at $2000.
If your point of entry was much lower, like around $1000, I wouldn't risk it by keeping my money on an exchange and just hold it. Even if it goes crazy and the price falls some more, you won't be affected.
4506  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto Bloodbath on: June 27, 2017, 07:49:08 PM
Now is the time to buy the dip and fill yer bags.

Still not bloody enough, this correction is nothing so far. Waiting on the sidelines for this one.
You might miss out on some cheap coinage. Only a couple of days until Australia legalises Bitcoin.

I think we still have the final push before the dreaded Aug 1. Australia will be joining and I'm sure that there will be a positive impact on the price. Couple more days to go and we are going to be amaze again by bitcoin, its power to recover and bound back even greater. Just watch out for it.

Not days.. It's going to be weeks if you're waiting for SegWit. I'm very positive about Bitcoin going up again this year, but it may go down a lot if people who bought in the recent breakout start panicking. I think the total bottom from which we've started is right above $1000 and this is a very probable bottom if we repeat the 2013 pattern.
4507  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Available space in DC - Mining worth? on: June 27, 2017, 07:45:15 PM
I have a Datacenter with plenty of space available. I would like to know if it will worth to do mining.

The datacenter has precision cooling which will increase the cost, so it should use around 70% more power.

You wrote it like you have some additional space in your data center, so the cooling is working anyway, right? A few miners wouldn't increase the power consumption that much, so I doubt it would be a 70% increase. It depends on how much space you have, and the efficiency of your cooling, but for instance adding 2 powerful miners to a 100m2 room will barely make a difference in your cooler's power consumption.
If you're willing to try it, you could always buy 1 miner and do a monthly test run to check if you like it and how your cooling is performing.
I'd recommend not mining BTC right now but focusing on LTC or other altcoins.
4508  Other / Politics & Society / Re: “No Religion” Is Now Officially Australia’s Top Religion on: June 27, 2017, 07:04:25 PM
Actually according to youch chart Christianity is still the main religion, because Catholics and Anglicans belong to the same big Christian family Wink

Some right-wing groups actually warned all citizens not to select the “no religion” option as it may lead to Australia becoming a “Muslim country” (somehow).
Yes, because it's that simple. If you come to an atheist and tell him to praise Allah, because it's better than believing in nothing, he'll convert just like that. Some people seem to think that there's a place reserved for a religion in our minds and it must be filled by one or another eventually.
4509  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-06-25] CNBC’s Jim Cramer Loathes Bitcoin & Ethereum... on: June 27, 2017, 06:59:51 PM
I can already see the slogan, "Buy a AMD card that pay for it self"   ^smile^
That's a good one, maybe you should send it to them and profit Wink
I've seen customized boards fit for mining 2 years ago, but they weren't very popular because of high prices. They were too greedy and thought people will pay 25% premium for a mining mobo with more pci slots that are space out a bit better. Let's hope they learnt on their mistakes and will survey the market better before another release.
4510  Other / Politics & Society / Re: purpose of life on: June 27, 2017, 06:50:41 PM
Life is short, just live your life in the fullest and enjoy and make god is the center of our daily life. Our purpose is to serve the lord.
You're willingly putting yourself in the position of a servant, an inferior being, even though no superior one has manifested itself? Why? Do you want to be abused that much? Is this some kind of a fetish. Usually people want to rule, not to be ruled...

Our purpose in life it to be happy, relaxed, eat and drink as we please, not serve others and make their lives better at the expense of ours.
4511  Economy / Speculation / Re: If you have 10 bitcoin !! on: June 27, 2017, 06:37:04 PM
10 btc is really very big amount in my country so without thinking much I will sell majority of my coins when it hits the price of $3k as to spend in real world you need fiat money and bitcoin is not yet popular in my country so I will prefer to have fiat money in my hands which can be used anywhere to buy anything or even to invest it in any other investment product and rest I will hold for the future.
You'll change your mind after selling it. I also used to think like that, that Bitcoin is too volatile and it would be better to have fiat, because I can buy anything. And I cashed out and didn't buy anything. I kept holding my fiat on my bank account for a year and nothing has happened, I still had the same amount, while Bitcoin was growing.
4512  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto Bloodbath on: June 27, 2017, 06:31:39 PM
...

Before today, I thought that the drop in Bitcoin prices (I only follow BTC as I am know little about Alts) might just be one of it's "little drops"
(up to a 10% decline).

Now I am not so sure (well, I am NEVER sure of anything re BTC prices).  This might be the start of one of BTC's big swoons in prices, perhaps going down below (say) $1500.  Maybe it's just as well I have been unable to get any BTC here in Italy, I can wait and buy more BTC when I get home.

But, in the three + years I have been involved with BTC, a Buy & Hold has always worked given enough time.

If you check the charts you'll see that Bitcoin has always jumped high, and dived after breaking ATH, but the dive has always ended above the starting point of the pump.
It's been going on for years. If it's another one of these moves we'll stop somewhere above $1200, and start going up again, but we could as well start going up from a higher level, like $2000 because the confidence in cryptocurrencies is rising.
4513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We can't buy something with Bitcoin quickly on: June 27, 2017, 06:21:26 PM
Yes, We can't if we are buying through 3rd party sites but if you are having a deal with a person then you'll be able to do the trades faster because the item you are buying can  be given to you once the other end saw your transaction even if its unconfirmed. I've dealt with many people before and that is how we do our trades once i saw the transaction in the blockchain then i can give them the goods or alt coins that they are buying.
You don't have to transact in person for this method to work. If you do it online and show an unconfirmed transaction in the blockchain, they can release the fiat payment or send you a product.
In case of an online store packing the product and entering all shipment details take time. Also companies have scheduled shipments usually once a day, so there's plenty of time for the payment to come through. THey can proceed like it were confirmed and by the time everything is packed and taken by the driver they can have a confirmation.
4514  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Watch A NATO F-16 Buzz The Russian Defense Minister's Plane on: June 26, 2017, 03:32:11 PM
Mechanical failures do happen with aircraft. Even the Poles conducted a comprehensive investigation on the aftermath of the plane crash, and they didn't found any evidence to support the fact that the crash was caused by Russia. And a lot of presidents have died in plane crashes in the past. Examples are John Garang (South Sudan), Joseph Kabila (DRC), and Juvénal Habyarimana (Rwanda).

I've read about it and it's not completely clear. They haven't found any proof of Russian involvement, but there are some unexplained things in that crash.
1. The prime minister of Poland met with Putin prior to the crash and the two had a private conversation. Later on the Minister and some of his closest advisors, including the person responsible for preparing and securing the whole journey didn't board the presidential flight.
2. All cameras and detectors on the Warsaw airport were disabled on that date, there are no videos from the day before, when the plane was being prepared and fueled. There are no lists of people who accessed the plane. Where was the security?
3. Parts of the plane were being found far from the crash, which means some of them had to break off before the crash. How did that happen?
4. Russia declined to give back the wreckage and had it scrapped, even though Poland wanted it back and wanted to cover the costs of transportation.
4515  Other / Meta / Re: BAN ALL SIG CAMPAIGNS on: June 26, 2017, 03:13:49 PM
It's funny how everyone here that's suggesting to ban signature campaigns are all enrolled in them.

Because we all love money obviously. What else do you think we are posting here for? Chit chat?  Grin I wonder what will happen when the business for the more industrialized posters dries up. World famine and mass exodus from the forum?
Geez. I dunno. Hopefully someone only contributes when they have something technically useful to say. I'm over it.
You do realize that this forum is not only about technical stuff? There are sections for trading, lending, gambling, and so on. What you find unimportant shitposting, other users benefit from. This is a free market. If there's a demand for signature advertising there are people who provide it. Why would you want to interfere and ban anything?
It's funny because this forum is full of liberals and anarchists and the same people who complain about government restrictions are asking for bans. You don't like the police, but you'd like to play its role here.
4516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in bitcoins today and be a millionaire in the future! on: June 26, 2017, 03:04:59 PM
http://www.cnbc.com/2017/06/20/bitcoin-millionaire-erik-finman-says-going-to-college-isnt-worth-it.html

Have you heard of the story of a 12 year old kid who wagered with his mom that if he will be a millionaire at age 18 he will not go to college. To his mothers surprise he is now a millionaire and never went to college. His secret he bought bitcoin at 12$ with a 1000 $ gift from his grandmother.

If we also dream of getting rich in the future it is now time to invest in bitcoins. Many said that we will be experiencing bubbles more often, that is true but we have survived it and still bitcoin keeps moving on.

If we want to get rich invest in bitcoins today. The price of bitcoin today is at 2600$ and moving up but imagine its value 5 to 10 years from now.
I don't have enough money to invest in bitcoin. I want it too but how? He is very lucky that grandmother gave him 1000$. I think this is the right time to have a bitcoin now, we became a millionaire if we save our bitcoin for future use. I will imagine how high bitcoin price 10 years from now. I'm pretty sure 1 bitcoin will be equivalent to $5000 in the year of 2027. We surprise at the price of bitcoin in the near future. Hoping that I can hold 1 bitcoin now, I will sum all of my profit from my capital. Can you see that? A road to being rich!
Enough? You don't need "enough", just invest what you have. It's better to have some Bitcoins than none and the risk is minimal. If what they're saying is true and 1 Bitcoin could be worth $100k or more, you can buy just 0.5 BTC now and keep it for another 2-3 years. Who knows, maybe when you're older you'll be holding a significant sum that will help you on your retirement or pay for your child's education.
4517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Governments Shutdown the Internet? on: June 26, 2017, 02:59:53 PM
What if Governments Shutdown the Internet?  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Governments in plural never work together and agree on the same thing. How do you imagine countries that don't like each other like Japan and China would go about it? If China decided to ban the Internet, Japan would say "citizens of China, buy cheap wireless internet from us!"
If a country like the USA banned the Internet they'd have riots in every city. People would stop working and block the streets. There would be total chaos and anarchy.
4518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin sucks! on: June 26, 2017, 02:54:37 PM
Our experiment with BTC is over. We accepted BTC in 2 of our on-line stores and after losing hundreds and possibly thousands of dollars we are removing BTC acceptance. Stores were selling card access products and chip cards.
Simply by the time somebody buys something and gets confirmed and we manage to exchange BTC at Canadian Kraken we are at loss. So goodbye Bitcoin, going back to PayPal and credit cards only.
What? That's how it ends when somebody treats Bitcoin like PayPal, thinking it's a payments system that will attract new customers and that's it. You were a fiat store and ultimately wanted only fiat. You weren't interested in Bitcoin and didn't do any research, you just wanted more clients and a quick buck and got an unpleasant surprise. Next time don't be so greedy Wink
4519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buy more bitcoin or wait for August 1st? on: June 26, 2017, 02:51:10 PM
I'd also buy now. I'm not saying right now today, but keep observing the charts and try to buy at the lowest possible point. Maybe it will be tomorrow and maybe on Friday, but people are taking advantage of uncertainty in the market and trying to push price as low as possible to buy back before another pump that will come after SegWit activation.
4520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Based on People's Faith on: June 26, 2017, 02:48:41 PM
"With no government or “anchor” backing up cryptocurrencies, the only foundation that cryptocurrencies have is people’s faith in their value.

In this case, what will happen when that same trust from Bitcoin holders can be diminished or for heaven's sake be gone...would that be the end of Bitcoin?

Do you really think other currencies aren't based on trust? Government backing doesn't mean anything when people don't believe in it and don't want to use it. Look at some of the inflated African currencies. They are backed by governments and still worth dust. Like those dollars from Zimbabwe and similar banana republics.
Trust and faith is the most important. The government doesn't make a country, the people do.
