4521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Will you go back/stay with Claymore if it gets fixed last minute? on: December 23, 2020, 10:58:24 AM
I'm already using another miners
For Nvidias I'm using Trex, and for AMDs Phoenix Miner, but I'm almost changing to all Phoenix, because it's working good and stable 24h

In my tests, both miners give more shares than Claymore, but I used Claymore for a long time, since Polaris in 2017, it's awesome that even without updates, Claymore still rocks, but in my opinion and tests, it's time to update or change miner, because devs are doing a great job trying to pass to dag size, updating to new drivers and new cards like RDNA2 and new RTXs, and there's plenty options to choose

If Claymore updates miner, I'll check hashrate and shares, and I'll use the best for my GPUs

So my answer is not on your poll  Grin

I have this one. 3 of them

https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=10G-P5-3885-KR

solid 94-95 at 220 watts

Thank you again philip, I'm out of merits to give to you  Cheesy

I'm waiting anxious to test this 3080, it's almost the same version you have, but mine doesn't have backplate (there's a difference of USD 100, so I prefer to stick with the cheapest)
I'll post on your thread after the tests
At least 94 Mhs is good for me, I just don't want that cards that are doing 88Mhs

4523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any news about nvidia 3060ti hash rates? on: December 22, 2020, 08:46:58 PM
Yes I have a Killawatt, have had it for years. Was excited to see that I "already have a piece of mining gear" LOL.  I will be using them on the rigs I build for sure.

so I'm still not sure if it's a big deal to go with a 3 fan model over a 2 fan.  I think i asked this question, but I don't see that I got a solid response.  In my mind, I'm thinking 3 fans = more electricity consumption, but better cooling, longer life of the board.  Or is all of that mitigated by backing off the gas pedal so to speak like you guys are saying - not running the GPUs at full speed...?

Hey, better to create a new thread for you and you can ask anything you want, because it's becoming off-topic of this thread about 3060tis, ok?

About 3 or 2 fans, you can watch some reviews on youtube and foruns, or ask here about the model you want, but usually 3 fans will be better than 2, and the power consumption of 1 more fan is extremely low, nothing to worry about
There are brands that have better colling performance in general

Anyone here using EVGA XC3 Black? (that model without backplate)
https://br.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=08G-P5-3751-KR

I found one at good price, and I'm thinking to buy, just want to know if this card is good and can reach 100Mhs?
I don't want to buy and be on sub 90mhs
4526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any news about nvidia 3060ti hash rates? on: December 22, 2020, 01:01:41 AM
Thanks Phil,

and these power settings are adjusted through some GUI for the cards, or through BIOS settings, or something similar?  This will be something I can learn to adjust and manage, correct?

Nvidia cards are pretty easy to manage and  tweak, you can use MSI Afterburner to do that
In 5 minutes you can adjust Nvidias, most are: reduce TDP to 60% or less, reduce Core Clock, set fans to 60% or 70% and push your memories to something like + 1000 or +1500mhz

AMDs are harder to tweak, but Nvidias you'll be able to, easy

To see about power consumption of your system, the only valid method is to have a Kill A Watt to measure power on the wall

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAMFf3y0G54

4530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bios modification have negative effects? on: December 21, 2020, 07:54:34 PM
You don't have to be a specialist to flash the correct bios for a certain graphic card it's easy as piece of cake, you can also use Hive OS, this mining OS have inbuilt bios flasher and it will recommend the best safest Bios for your graphic card, I guess this is safer than other methods out there

I didn't say you have to be specialist to flash the bios, the question here is: Bios modification have negative effects?
So, to answer this correctly, you have to go deeper and have to know how your GPU works (memory, PCB, Capacitors, Fans etc)

I tried to explain better than only: just download the bios and flash

Can you answer the questions OP asks?

About lifespan and negative effects of bios mod?
4531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any news about nvidia 3060ti hash rates? on: December 21, 2020, 11:18:47 AM
I think the 120 W power is a result of using 50 % of TDP (which is 220 to 240 for most 3060 cards). For my gaming PC I think about buying a MSI GeForce RTX 3070 Suprim X 8GB GDDR6 which has 280 w TDP. So 50 % would be 140w. I think with 140w it gets the same hashrate....but when I make TDP of 40 or 45 % to reach 120 W, do you think I might get less mhash? So a 3060 with a higher TDP than 240 is no good choice for mining? could that be correct?

Then I would buy the normal NON-Supreme variant of the 3070....if I can get one. 3070 supreme is in stock today Sad

I bought Asus dual oc 3070, and it's hashing 61Mhs with 52% TDP, + 1099 memory oc and it's stable
The power consumption on the wall is 135 exactly (Phoenix miner shows 114w)
If I lower to 51% or less (minimum 45% TDP) I lose hashrate, so 52% for me it's the sweet spot

3060 ti is better if you'll only mine and can buy with good price, but I choose 3070 to do some gaming and the price is only 10% more of 3060ti at the moment, and it's easy to find
4532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bios modification have negative effects? on: December 21, 2020, 11:12:34 AM
It's hard to answer this question because the right thing to do is study the project, components, and only manufacturers and a couple of specialists can answer correctly, but we can try, based on experience and good sources of reliable information (like here in this forum)

If you modify the bios, you will change the straps, and you'll probably do the maximum overclock you can achieve, so it's above the manufacturer specs (already tested and realiable to sell and lasts some years), it's unknow territory
Another thing is you'll probably do undervolt and run in a good temperature, so you'll run 24 hours but with lower specs of standard, this is good

As we can see here in forum, we have users still using hawaii cards R9 290, Polaris cards modified (RX 470, 480 etc) and it's running for years, so it's pretty safe to do and run 24h

You have to consider some things: Take care when flashing the bios, be sure it's the right version, best to do with dual bios cards and there's a chance to brick your card, it's hard, but it's real and can happen
You'll also lose warranty, unless manufacturers don't have the tools to check if you change the bios.

4533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 5.4c: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux) on: December 20, 2020, 11:12:41 PM
3060 Ti here - works well, unless...

- I set max overclock at start (only incorrect shares are generated - I need to start lower and increase)
- Epoch changes (same result as above)

Please fix.

Same Issue here
using the November drivers still  to avoid the issues...

Please look into the RTX 3060 ti issue with this

It runs beautifully  at 63.4 MHs with low power 130W once it starts at low mem clock , but if you start with higher mem clock it gets many invalids.

So I'm not the only one here having this problem
I have an Asus 3070 and I can reach 61 Mhs without any problem, but if I increase my overclock before start the miner, I have almost all invalid shares, but if I increase slowly with miner running, no problem, until the next epoch when I have all invalid shares again

I'm wonder here if this is really a problem with drivers and miner or just too much overclock, now I'm using + 1099 on memories and only 1% of invalid shares

4535  Local / Primeiros Passos (Iniciantes) / Re: Onde comprar BTC rápido e seguro? on: December 19, 2020, 07:59:40 PM

4537  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Bitcoin - Perguntas e Respostas. on: December 19, 2020, 05:28:01 PM
...

4538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is mining in mobile phone Real?? on: December 19, 2020, 11:33:50 AM
There is nothing real about mobile mining, it's no lie that the high end smartphones can't handle crypto mining till date, may be possible in future but not today, whatever mining interface you are seeing on an app it's not real mining, it's like using a cloud mining service like orbot or genesis mining services

I'm sorry but we have to deal with facts, and the fact is: it's possible to mine on smartphones nowadays
It's profitable or is it worth? Maybe not, but it's possible and real

Look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhMdqHKYp5Q

There's a way, not to simple, but not hard to a person who are used to mining with PCs rigs, to mine Veruscoin for example, on smartphones.

I already tested some "miners" and I remember Electroneum for example, it was only a simulation of mining, to distribute some coins and attracts people to the coin
But now it's real and you can really mining on smartphones

For today, like users already said, maybe worth something if you have some good hardware with cracked screen, or in a near future we can have even more powerful processors and gain some money with a samsung s21 or the next device...

It's in the beginning, could be something in future or not, but it's real and you can test by yourself
4539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Profitability and What to buy ? on: December 19, 2020, 10:27:17 AM
It's insane times we are living, scarcity of some components, BTC bullrun, pandemic etc, so we can say what to buy will depend of pricing and availability

3060ti is a good choice now, hashing 61Mhs with 120w power consumption, 3070 will hash the same
3080 are beasts, doing 100Mhs with 240 to 250w

But it is extremely hard to find at MSRP, miners and gamers are buying everything

5600xt, 5700 and 5700xt are good choices too, it's easier to find at a reasonably price and have good hashrates and power consumption
4540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: December 19, 2020, 12:46:22 AM
Hey guys, my 3070 arrived yesterday and it's already running here

I bought this model:

Asus with dual bios, and only 2 fans

I liked this card, 61.5Mhs with power consumption of 135w exactly from the wall and 3 year warranty
Only 10% more expensive of 3060ti but it's easier to find here, and I think it will be better to sell after some years

I can reach 63mhs but the power I have to add, doesn't worth
