I think we'll grow this app later..... For now it's specific to this specific round/pool
pretty sweet, thanks! cryptostamp:rg/index.php?topic=1205056.msg12719918#msg12719918
I assume "cryptostamp" is me? The workername is "vapourminerdonation" (with no .). It's located at the very bottom and is in no specific order.
errr.. cryptonglance. yup. reading failure on my part. looked for it in the previous order under the *stick entry. this is what I get posting in a hurry. this real life stuff intruding on my internetz thing is a drag

My test board will have some added instrumentation like output current measurement and extra pads to directly measure and manipulate. It's likely some of this won't be on the final version, unless y'all really want the functionality (at slightly added parts cost). I in for that even at extra cost. I think the experimental/learning aspect of your gear is a major plus. I also like the intel i series stock heatsink option holes as I have several of those from builds. I understand the clocks wont go as high but they will work until a hand-me-down aftermarket cooler makes it over from another build.

huh oh ..or is the purpose of the *.stick addy for telling how many sticks vs how many stick users?
I think you are OK. As I am following it one stick goes go .stick and then the rest of your hash is .donation. part a is per stick and you get a whole share so for 30 people its 12.5 bitcoin devided by 30. Then he adds up the shares for everyone and proportionally devides the rest of the 12.5 bitcoin that's part b. I think there might be mix of stuff right now at the various addys I added this part tp an edit: I think it would be kinda cool to see single stick hashes at the stick addy as you could tell the monster insane overclocks on that table that cryptoglance put up. put the best killer clocked stick at the stick addy for bragging right heh even more fun for stick users. however dont want to complicate things much, you already have done loads.' but dont want to overcomplicate things. the whole point is to be easy.

I kind of wanted sticks with stick address just to give us an idea of how many sticks are mining here.
Vs keeping 1 stick to stick address and everything else to donation address. huh oh philip I think Im doing it wrong. I have 2 sticks as follows: one at *.stick, one at *.donation so both should be @ *.stick..? and only non stick hardware or rented hashes @ .donation? question then. how do you tell 1 stick @ say 20 Ghs vs 2 at 10 Ghs each? I think it would be kinda cool to see single stick hashes at the stick addy as you could tell the monster insane overclocks on that table that cryptoglance put up. put the best killer clocked stick at the stick addy for bragging right heh even more fun for stick users. however dont want to complicate things much, you already have done loads. so the purpose of the *.stick addy then is for telling how many unique sticks vs how many unique stick users?

May be confused, may be not. I want one (or more?) sticks at .peptostick. I don't yet recognize the benefit of having more than one stick pointed there. I have two sticks so I expect to point one at Part A, and put the 2nd one on a donation name (Part B). This is beginning to sound like Medicare. I hope there's no Part C. I also have ~100GH that I might play with and would put on Part B, unless of course I defect for a while to see if I can put a few penny's in my wallet.
Phil, kindly create a .peptodonation user. I'll start mining to it shortly.
lol @ medicare part a & b I work in a medical practice and see patients confusing it more than one might think. yes, put one @ *.stick, the other @ *.donation only one stick is needed @ the part a *.stick and only the 1st stick counts as the block split shares at that one. the other @ .donation has the shares counted @ the part b slit percentage. philipma, please correct me if Im wrong.

running debian jessie in virtualbox 4.3.12 in a freenas 9.3 jail on my server in the basement. I can compile and run cgminer-gekko. the compac is seen fine in debian. cgminer fires up and sees the clubs solo pool and connects. I get the welcome and block found messages. but it wont mine. the errors are as follows: no valid hashes for over 10 secs, attempting to restart. compac 1 attempted reset got error:(0) LIBUSB_SUCCESS device failed to respond to restart HOTPLUG: Gekko adding compac 2 it does this over and over with the compac n number increasing each time. any suggestions? this compac runs fine on my windows HTPC. EDIT: the compacs led stays steady green. no frequency arguments so it should run stock speed. this stick runs at 185Mhz on the HTPC so it should run fine stock frequency.. I had the same issue when I was trying to push my compact with a regular USB from my PC. I was running at freq 150 and it was just too much for the usb. I dropped it down to 125 and it runs perfectly without any HW now. 6.867GH/s What is your voltage set to? It has a example here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1173963.msg12359541#msg12359541Assuming USB has enough power it should hit 8GH pretty easy. But not all USB slots are equal as far as power they put out. yeah Im wondering if the servers front USB port is underpowered. voltage pot is set about 4 o'clock relative to the heatsink being "up" and the usb plug "down." without a clock argument on the command line I believe it runs at 125Mhz, since it runs at 185 Mhz with that pot setting on the HTPC Ill leave the voltage pot for the moment. Ill try a rear port and/or a powered hub and give it another go. rats. tried it with my y cable on the servers front case usb as well as the rear mobo usbports.. still negative. so its not power related. wonder if its some issue with freenas jails and virtualbox. USB passthru works and the stick is seen in cgminer-gekko, but it wont fire. cgminer-gekko keeps hotplugging it, timing out and then disabling it. debian sees the mirrored USB thumbdrives freenas boots from (they are set up as raid 1), its APC UPS, and a test usb thumbdrive as well as the compac, so dunno.. @philip and cryptoglance: sweet, thanks

vapourminerdonation miner address is set up, should be good to go.

cryptoglance, looks great!
philipma1957, can you add vapourminerdonation to the list? might be a bit but that way it will be all set and I can just add horsepower when I can.
thanks to you both! this has made sidehacks sticks even more fun.

another good way to monitor your kit is with cgminers api. use kanos miner.php (its in a stock cgminer archive) on a home web server it will give you more info than you can shake a stick at. it has a mobile format as well as regular and anything in the house with a browser can check it.
I dont expose my web server to the internet, just the home network, but you could do it if you think your network etc is secure enough.

Continued adventures of a new person. I had a network hiccup and my miner went offline. I'm trying to reconnect but I keep getting an error that says "Failure to resolve...solo.ckpool.org:3333". I know I'm using a correct web address because i'm copy/pasting from ck's website. Any ideas? Have I configured it wrong somehow? http://s12.postimg.org/yz3ftwgsd/cgminer_error.jpglooks ok to me can you ping solo.ckpool.org ok?

I will lay out the 0.10 btc for the one year membership.
Thank you, but that is unnecessary, let a few of us pay for it. 10 of us would only be 0.01 each, that's only 1/3 of the club participants. We can send it to the club address since you control it, correct? Please confirm and I will send the first 0.01. Ill chip in .01 also.

the 50/50 split between a stick worker and percentage of total shares per block sounds good to me.
one of my sticks wont be run beyond what a single usb 2 port and passive cooling can provide, currently 185 Mhz and 10.something Ghs at 55-60 C on the heatsink. it lives on my HTPC in the living room so must be silent (per the wife).
the other will get a y cable on usb 3 and a fan plugged into my freenas box in the basement if i ever get some free time, whatever that is.

i have done extensive testing of various USB scrypt and SHA256 miners and always had trouble under windows once i went to linux i never went back all my rigs are now running on various custom Pi Linux miners found here on the forums
huh am I the only windows person with no problems point and click results? yes I like the command line but my wife can run windows. I have ubuntu installed as the only OS on many old laptops. I like it but windows is everywhere, and nix is notall I can say is my MANY windows rigs run fine 24/7. my freenas box runs fine too and there a good reason to run it. my house has a personal house only 24/7 HTPC based web server with easyphp lookup WAMP dont laugh please my cards are windows only and it works well. I wouldnt trust my personal install on the real web though
