4521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Environmental Impact Of Bitcoin Donations on: January 21, 2022, 07:51:14 PM
The important is that bitcoin is useful when donating money to charity localized in another countries, so people can save on exorbiting fees they would have to pay to banks due to international transactions dealing with fiat. Furthermore, it's easier for charity organizations to launch their campaigns and ask for donations in btcs, without going through the traditional bureaucratic method of creating a special bank account and also having to pay fees to maintain it and to complete the regulatory requirements.

The negative side is that the lack of formality bitcoin proportionates added to the easiness it is to adopt the digital currency, makes it simpler for scammers to create fake charity programs to steal money from donators, as it has been already seen innumerable times. However, if there is transparency and public accountability, it is not an issue at all...

About the environment, well, it's part of the evolutionary and technological developmental process to use the natural resources we have disponible to improve our techniques aiming to use less of those natural resources futurely and make them last longer.
4522  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who saw the Bear market coming? on: January 21, 2022, 07:07:07 PM
IDK at this point, seems to be holding pretty strong at $40K.

Maybe the days of 80% corrections after ATHs are over?

I'm still bearish personally, but it has been a great your for Crypto in general. We'll see.

There's already institutional investors that holds the majority of supply which keeps the price don't dip below 40K since thats the buying price of most of them. I believe 80% correction is still possible once they decided to give up there position and take profit which will not happened right now since most there holdings needs approval or reach a certain amount of profit and maturity for it to be liquidate.
The problem is that these investors supporting bitcoin at 40,000$ range might be the same ones who crash the market as soon as bitcoin hit 43,000$. There is no difference between institutional investors and whales. All of them are very dangerous for bitcoin stability and price increasement along the time.

If the supply of bitcoins were splitted among more investors, we wouldn't have massive selloffs like the one seen earlier today, which instantly liquidated more than half billion dollars in cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin still need more adopters who aren't related to the speculative practices of the financial market in order to thrive smoothly.
4523  Economy / Gambling / Re: Very immoral marketing strategy. on: January 21, 2022, 06:43:22 PM
I think, by the way, that some restrictions should be imposed. It is not about moral or immoral side, but to tell the truth, you can see those restrictions on Forex, for instance. All regulated companies are obliged to tell their customers more about risks and to provide them with transparent information about the ways they can lose money. Those brokers tell their affiliates to conduct this risk policies too. I think something like this should be done in gambling. Trustworthy niche website (affiliates) always want their customers that they can lose more than they can win. And this is a good approach. THe same should be done across the whole board of affiliates to make this industry more moral-friendly.
As far as I know these restrictions you mentioned already exist in some countries, but they apply only to advertisements made inside the jurisdiction of that sovereign state (example: television, outdoors ads). To make such restrictions a requirement for internet ads, I think the platforms used by content creators to promote gambling should enforce it on their terms and conditions.
On the other hand, anyone who feels prejudiced by a fake propaganda, including videos spreading misleading content on youtube, can always sue the channel and the responsible behind it, doesn't matter how far they live from each other. But the costs of the action are really expensive, becoming impossible for most people to afford, because the legal proceedings must happen in the country of the defendant and even the lawyers involved in both parties must be located on that territory.

So the idea of the platform imposing restrictions is much simpler and safer for the public, who is the potential victim.
4524  Economy / Gambling / Re: Very immoral marketing strategy. on: January 20, 2022, 07:23:40 PM
Stay away from social media guys if you wanna gamble instead just focus in your favorite games and also focus in your budget for each gaming .
This is 100% correct advice!  If you start to study some reviews or recommendations on social networks, then you will definitely come across hidden advertising and hidden promotion of the services of a particular casino.  And it obviously works for less experienced players.
Internet in general is now more than 90% filled with fake.  With information and understanding the true understanding of things in general, it has become quite difficult.  Censorship does not work, all nonsense only catches the eye.
True - it's better not to listen to anyone but to live and play according to your own understanding.

To follow that up, more on those reviews and advertisement are to favor the business,

they've been paid by the house to write or streams informations that will lead gamblers/players to their platforms
if you want to be successful, go dig on your own and allow to adopt.

Better to keep your guard up when choosing a gambling sites to play and enjoy, be mindful of the amount that you are
willing to lose and the amount that you'll be more contented to earn.
But to avoid social medias for this reason is too extremist in my opinion. I think people should have access to every informations disponible around and make their own judgement on what is worthful, what isn't and what is legit and what isn't. We can't live inside a glass dome without access to the reality surrounding us. We have to learn how to deal with it in a way we won't be fooled or prejudiced. And in case of mistakes, we can learn from them.
Gambling platforms' social medias can also bring valuable useful informations and content. If a gambler is able to filter what is benefical to him and what isn't, he will be fine in any environment.
4525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the next big industry move? on: January 20, 2022, 06:15:11 PM
The emergence of the blockchain has made it easier for another new phase of gambling to spur out of nowhere making it too easy for one to play a bet without using the normal paper money. Crypto bet is now everyone corners of the internet making it too easy to enter into the gambling world if only you have cryptocurrency in your wallet. Very soon gambling will be based on different aspect and field.
Not only that, it has brought some level of anonymity to an industry that had none previously, now this may not seem like a big deal but it is, there are many countries in which gambling is seen with very bad eyes and it is illegal as well, so if there was anything that indicated in your financial record that you were gambling, even if it was just for fun, you could get in trouble, but thanks to bitcoin this is not as much of an issue as before and we must be thankful for that.
Anonymity and accessibility brought by bitcoin and altcoins to gambling industry helped many newbies to get introduced to virtual casinos for the first time, what would be nearly impossible through traditional methods (fiat casinos), since they are banned and inaccessible in a considerable number of countries around the world. The possibility of playing with tiny amounts of money in crypto casinos also contributed to make them popular among a public who doesn't have a lot of money to risk, but who still wants to bet, have fun and potentially grow their funds like every gambler else.
4526  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling elementary tools on: January 19, 2022, 09:30:16 PM
what are the fundamental skills that a newbie without experience should start with. The first step and a guide to a newbie.
The most fundamental necessary element in order to start gambling is to know you shouldn't play with money you can't afford to lose. That is a basic rule which can't be neglected in any situations.

Anyway, I wouldn't consider it a "skill", it's just basic understanding of cause and a consequence law for your own good. Moreover gambling is mainly based on luck, so you can't expect skills are going to be a game changer on long run. In sports betting it really helps to know the teams, players and conditions every involved parties are currently facing, but it's not a guarantee of anything at all, otherwise underdogs winners wouldn't exist.
4527  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador Bitcoin wallet onboard four million users on: January 19, 2022, 08:02:31 PM
4 million wallets means 4 million bitcoin adopters
It is possible there that one person can own 2 or more Chivo wallets but if the stats say that it's one wallet per person then that's really a lot of users in a short period of time.
Theoretically it's not possible for one person to own more than one wallet, because Chivo is a centralized bitcoin wallet which enforces KYC policy. So each wallet must be attached to a different ID card. If someone managed to own more than one wallet somehow (cheating), they are going against the rules and may suffer the consequences for their actions, especially because we are talking about a 30$ airdrop (it's a lot of money to be distributed for free) and for this reason, I believe agents from the government watch and supervise it attentively.
4528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Esports Based Betting community on: January 18, 2022, 11:39:25 PM
Checked the link, but the account doesn't exist. What might have happened, twitter excluded it for breaking the social media rules or was it the account owner himself? Huh
Maybe you should show more evidence of this community and talk about it with more details, so gamblers interested in sports betting can understand it clearly to reach the conclusion if they should join you or not...

4529  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Nexo - Anyone got any experience with them? on: January 18, 2022, 10:45:35 PM
I've been there for several months already and so far no issues... My only complainment is that interest rates aren't clear enough. They promote lots of "earn up to x%" and "boost your interest" informations everywhere on the platform, but forget to let explicit how much we are really earning as a common user without access to the premium benefits for holding up to 10% of total funds in NEXO token.

From my calculations I was earning 4% on my bitcoins, but noticed a new feature today that allows investors to lock funds for longer periods of time to earn extra interest, so I locked my bitcoins for 1 month (only disponible option for btc currency), so they pay 5% yearly interest.

For NEXO tokens you can lock funds for 1 or 3 months and 1 year.
4530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador Bitcoin wallet onboard four million users on: January 18, 2022, 09:20:25 PM
4 million wallets means 4 million bitcoin adopters, as KYC is required in order to use Chivo and claim the 30$ airdrop and all these adopters are only from El Salvador, so even a small country can contribute a lot to bitcoin adoption. These are positive points in my opinion.

On the other hand, these news are a bit sensationalist, because they exclude the possibility many people who created bitcoin wallets with Chivo did this only to claim the $30, cashout to fiat and stopped using bitcoin. Cointelegraph should also include the currently percentage of active wallets from the total of 4 million.
4531  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: January 18, 2022, 07:27:59 PM

LOL, I tried freebitco after watching the lucrative promotion of "Win $200 per hour". But sadly, I wasn't able to win an amount that could be withdrawn. That was very disappointing. Well, I was only claiming the hourly faucets. If I can remember correctly, I was far away from the minimum withdrawable amount LOL & eventually I gave up.

Lol, I can relate to it. In the beginning, where you got around 40 satoshi for the lowest tier, I claimed a lot of times and was still far for miminum amount to withdraw. But than they launched the earn btc opportunity, so I kept sticking around.

I suppose many people feel the same way. It takes a lot of patience to collect enough satoshis from free rolls to be able to withdraw. But, we're not claiming it just to win a fraction of a cent once per hour, right? Many of us hope to win that $ 200 prize every time we hit the "ROLL!" button. So, there is also excitement due to uncertainty and it provides moments of pure fun that can give us some upside, but I think most of the upside has to come from the gaming side. This is at least how it is for me.

It would be pleasant to know if someone here has already hit the 200$ prize. The only people who won 20$+ prizes I've seen were random recently created accounts, and I don't remember if any of them achieved the 200$ jackpot. Since it's 1 chance in 10,000 I suppose if a group of people claim the faucet 10,000 times, at least one or few one them must be able to win that amount once.

Currently I'm heading to the 8,000 claims mark (7,453 so far) yet...
4532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do I feel as though I don't have enough knowledge of Crypto? on: January 18, 2022, 05:46:49 PM
You may feel like this because we are in an unpredictable market where events happen suddenly without previous warnings. When we can't predict what is going to happen accurately we have the sensation of being incompetent or uneducated on the respective matter, but in crypto universe it's just that there is no way to know these things.
Cryptocurrency is purely a speculative environment and for most of us, small investors, it's impossible to have some kind of significant influence on the market. All we can do is to follow whales' movements, trying to understand what they are going to do next, so we can also profit from their actions.
4533  Economy / Speculation / Re: What about 2022? on: January 18, 2022, 05:08:32 PM
So far nothing bright about bitcoin yet. The scenario is looking really boring and uncertain. Since 2022 started the price is being slowly pushed down without the recovery energic rates we had in 2021. Last year, if the price dropped to 41,000$, I'm sure few minutes or hours later we would have already be seeing a peak near 44,000$ or 45,000$ again.

That is what 2022 is lacking and it doesn't look good... News are worthless to predict market fluctuations anyway, because as soon as BTC drops, we see a massive wave of negative news, but when BTC recovers even a little, another wave, but of optimistic news saying bitcoin is going to be adopted by company X or Y, a wealthy guy bought million or billion of dollars in crypto, bitcoin to the moon in 1 year and so on... take control of the internet.
4534  Economy / Economics / Re: PEOPLE DURING THE PANDEMIC. on: January 18, 2022, 04:04:20 PM
And also because of the ingenuity of people who spend more time using gadgets, more and more people are now obsessed with investing in cryptocurrencies.
Actually most people aren't interested in investing, because to invest they have to have a job or an income in the first place, and as you said in your post, entrepreneurs have closed their businesses and employees have lost their jobs during this pandemic, so people are interested in earning money through new sources and opportunities for a living.

Cryptocurrencies can be helpful if they create jobs' spots directly or indirectly, but not solely as investments. Once people are able to generate income, feed themselves and pay for every basic monthly needs, they can start thinking about investing in cryptocurrencies.
4535  Economy / Gambling / Re: What are the best ways to choose a casino on: January 17, 2022, 09:59:54 PM
You can select a wide variety of crypto legit casinos promoted on this forum (check their reputation first) and create one personal account on each of them.

Then, keep following the news, promotions and updates they bring to the community every now and then. Once you find an interesting offer from them that worth a try in your opinion, make your deposit and go for it.
4536  Economy / Economics / Re: Doctors fear health care collapse amid omicron surge on: January 17, 2022, 08:45:50 PM
The new omicron wave is responsible for the collapse in healthcare system as expected, due to its high contagious levels. But the good news is that mortality rates are lower than the previous strains, so I hope healthcare systems worldwide are going to stabilize again once people get infected and recover themselves, just like we have seen after the last peak of the pandemic.

For now we can follow the sanitary protocols, strength our immune systems with all the necessary nutrients acquired through the food and liquids we consume, daily exercises, contact with sunlinght and also avoiding any kind of negativity in our lives that may attack our immunity. It's also a good idea to store medications at home, because in some areas drugstores and hospitals are already lacking it.

Covid tests are also scarce right now!
4537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto.com paused all withdrawal on: January 17, 2022, 07:49:01 PM
Crypto.com was hacked and the amount could reach to 16$ million dollars, as 5000 eth were moved on the last hours, accordingly to this tweet:

The platform has already informed all withdrawal services have been restored, even though lots of users are still complaining on twitter and facing difficulties to access their personal accounts. So far it's not possible to know how many people have been damaged by the hacker attack, but there is a serious possibility it wasn't isolated cases as firstly claimed. Some are also saying Crypto.com should invest more in security instead of advertisement.
4538  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Crypto Bank on: January 16, 2022, 11:50:47 PM
There are some crypto virtual banks operating borderless already and from times to times more of them are being created, what is pretty good because this way we have a healthy and decentralized competition among services of this same kind, aiming to offer the best possible services to their users. So customers have access to competitive interest rates and promotions when investing their crypto funds. Compared to traditional fiat banks I think it's much better already, as every services you need from a traditional bank you can also find at a crypto one, including credit cards with pretty decent cashback rates, depending your investment size at the platform, accordingly to its internal requirements.
4539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Metaverse a bubble? on: January 16, 2022, 10:33:34 PM
I don't think metaverse is a bubble, I think it's actually a scam in the way it's being sold and promoted on the internet. A metaverse for real will be only disponible in many decades from now on, because so far we aren't on the necessary level of technological development to create an immersive environment like the ones we see on the movies yet.

What developers are selling right now are concepts copied from The Sims, Second Life, Club Penguin, Habbo Hotel, etc... telling it's the "metaverse". And to say the truth there are serious chances the projects being developed at this moment are going to be inferior to the games mentioned on the line above. Cheesy
4540  Other / Off-topic / Re: Neuralink is ready this year. would it be great or would it be scary? on: January 16, 2022, 09:46:50 PM
I think people should be careful about it, because we don't know what can be the potential side effects of chips implanted into the brain.

Without any doubts it's awesome that paralyzed people can increase the range of activities they do daily, raising their life quality and participation on the society, but I can't deny it's a very dubious situation, because besides the risks to our brains, we would be completely opening our minds to a third party company or individual to read our thoughts and to know everything passing through our minds.

Moreover, when the Holy Bible talks about the mark of the beast, one interpretation could be these chips being idealized by Elon Musk. So yes, it's really scary, if you ask me.
