You sir is a liar

Alcheminer is no scam , I orders four units and they all arrived brand new and on time.

I also recently had a controller board Fri and the shipped me a new one at cost.

If there is a problem with them is they are near useless on multipools without nodded firmware
But they mine at full speed on ltc

Check my updated reply above it was a dumb question ill stand by that if you don't get why
I said that not sure I can say anything about that

Here's another hint you're on the wrong forum fur etheruem mining help any ways ..again check my updated reply

This is a old thread now.

All my rigs are running good Smiley

Yeah i seen the dates but no resolution to your problem as i skimmed though.
Glad that everything is going smooth  Smiley
To get 28 mhash he's burning his cards, into the ground they wont last three months.
a more realistic hashrate is 26mhash which is still quite good

4545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Monitor ETH mining ? on: September 23, 2015, 03:44:01 AM
I am looking for some way to monitor my ETH miners.
Etherminer in Ubuntu does not show me either hashrate or temps on the gpu:s.

Is there any way to get this info shown in etherminer ?
Or is there some other way to monitor several rigs mining ETH.
Right now i just have the hashrate presented at the pool i am mining at.

I am a totally linux noob and i just started up my first linux miner ever yesterday.

Stupid questions irritate me god !
Ethminer is basically beta software of course there's no way to monitor hash rate
Through it just be happy you got it to mine on the pool.

To monitor the hash rate something totally custom would have to be written in Linux and node js or something to interface with geth, jeez get a clue

Looks like somebody was real nice and build a monitoring and mining proxy with a front end

4546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum problems on: September 21, 2015, 05:50:43 PM
how many miner were you running when it crashes ?
I had something somewhat similar when I tried to run both amd and nvidia card at the same time (and same computer) with 2 different instances.
The problem is due to multiple access to the dag files (and obviously it should be avoided).
I solved the problem by compiling a second miner where the dag file are written to another location and now both miner can run at the same time (each of them writting and reading dag files located in different directories)
I have only had one miner running as a testrig.
I have been struggeling with Ubuntu since yesterday and i have got alot of help from a nice guy at ethereum forum.
I think i will be up and running soon hopefully.

I will clone that ssd disk for use on my other rigs. I hope that works.

what are you using to clone the ssds ? i tried clonezilla but i could not get it to recognize the disks on ubuntu 15.4

Having problems trying to mine this on ubuntu 15.4

I had no problems mining Eth on the same box , ethminer is already installed.

I installed gexp with no issues and have peers as well as the console going but i cant

geth ethminer to see the rpc instance

As you can see console is fine i started it with :  build/bin/gexp --rpc --rpcaddr 192.168.0.103 console

i used the same ethminer string i used before :
ethminer --cl-global-work 8192 --cl-local-work 128  -G -F http://192.168.0.103:8545 --farm-recheck 100 --no-precompute

but all i see is :

thanks in advance

Wrong rpc port in ethminer?
default is 9656

Looks like cgt99 noticed something a little more obvious Grin Huzzah!
I tried that port as well same deal, also tried specifying my own port

I don't think its smart buying these S7's using loans or credit cards.

Think about it

Bitmain has much insider knowledge about many manufacteurs of ASICs. Since they have decided to publicly release the S7 to the public instead of mining on their own and keeping the hashrate low is because they determined that they will make more money by selling the equipment instead of mining on their own.

If they knew the difficulty would stay flat for the next 6 months or so, they would keep selling us their S5 chips instead.

Who knows maybe this S7 was created by them 9 months ago, and they have been mining with them ever since.

Bitmain is a business and they do what they can to make the most money.
I would agree with this, and say at least half of this year they were replacing S5's with S7.  Albeit just speculation.
Kinda hard to believe not a single picture snuck out or son lips didn't waggle in six months, its a pretty big company.

Maybe 3 months but six ? No way

What about the power consumption when mining ethereum? Any info?

Not sure what you mean by this , the power consumption depends on  the card not on the Algo you are mining.  X11 gives you a higer Hash rate than scrypt on the ALgo basis but youre
still pushing the card to its limits so power consumption does not change.

So they can pass the savings to you.

There is a difference between doing things properly and cutting corners to save a few bucks. What might appear to be "savings" up front is actually far greater costs to be paid down the road!

Quote
I rather pay $50 per kwh in an ugly but functional/ safe place then to pay $90 per kwh in a glamorous building with TV/cable, lake front, etc.  Your miners doesn't care as long as it is cool and have enough juice.

Why pay money to put your expensive mining equipment somewhere it will get damaged and probably given no more care than was put into the building when you can pay about the same to get your gear hosted somewhere things are done properly? Cable tv is a good joke, obviously my miners would not need that but they also don't need to be right beside an open window to get rained on! I have been reading various threads around here and while some places like toom.im still offer 2014 prices of $90+ it looks like there are other hosters offering prices more in the area of $70 so it is not like the only choice people have is between "get ripped off" or "barebones plywood data hut for cheap until the weakest link fails".

Why not do cloud mining where you do not have to worry about equipment or how they treat your equipment.

Hi all, I have a 7x R9280X GPU rig and im only getting 80 MH/s total whereas I've read that people are squeezing 24MH/s per card.
I have tried playing with configs but nothing seems to work out. However I noted that if mine with only 1 GPU I get around 24MH/s, the problem comes when I try to mine with the 7 cards. What am I doing wrong? Do you think it could be a driver problem?

Yes of course its a driver problem , you didn't even specify Windows or Lunix how do you expect help  lol ?

Im running windows 8.1 with Amd 13.12 drivers. Sorry for the lack of details

I dont know much about Windows , I run six rigs of 4+ R9280x gpus on Ubuntu 15.4 and have never seen any one hash lower than 25 mh/s

Cant help you with windows sorry

HD 7970/R9 280x, HD 7990 and R9 295x2 are the best hash power per watt per unit for ETH mining.

I have 22 7950s that do ok gpu does 23mh/s  around 138 mh/s per rig or 158mh/s on a 7gpu rig

I dont see the point of 7970s or 7990s or 295x2 since they cost about twice the price of 7950s

you can get 7950s for 140 or  vs 190-200 for 280x and way higher for the 7990s and 295s

How do you get your rigs going with full hashrate? I have a 7x 280x rig and cant seem to run past 80MH/s

the only way that happens if you have some GPUs that are not recognized by the ATI driver.

Its easy to see which GPUs are hashing, they will be warm to the touch and the others will cold/cool since they are not doing anything.

Just becasuce the fans on a GPU is spinning does not mean its active.  on Ubuntu/Linuix the commad :

#!/bin/bash;
export DISPLAY=:0 ;
export GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=98;
export GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1;
sudo aticonfig --adapter=all --odgt;

will tell you how many GPU's you have active.

the Unit's will now be shipped to your Address no point in buying your account now at all.

O well, I would just resell them anyway. Are 10 units worth the shipping cost of 3btc? I thought 2nd gen shares are supposed to get some kind of compensation later on. Did I miss something or is the 10 units part of this?

Edit: If anyone in the VA or NC area has a home for these (hosted or a straight sale), PM me.
I thought there was a link out there for changing the account adress

SFARDS did e-mail me back saying they would have a batch 2 order but no time was given so I wouldn't expect if for a while i noticed LTC difficulty was dropping now its on its way back up so i suspect someone is turning on the lights on some new gear

They have either a big customer or are mining on their own I think.  I am not sure which but it's odd for a product to come out and need only 5 units to select resellers.

I wonder if eventually they will sell them though.  They got the end of ltc having so maybe who ever owns them they will sell and they call it batch 2.  I just hope price goes down with ltc having.
I have seen the price at around 1500 on aliexpress now, they may realize they aren't going to sell or make what they wanted to off them.

Part of reason of dropping though is LTC having.  These people ran them befoe having.  Now if they can see for more then the 1200 they paid talk about a nice profit.

They get a profit on selling gear.  And basically get free LTC from mining before having.

Yup thats waht i did , bough 7 units around 1100 , mined with them for a month and 4 of em on ebay for 1300-1400

I'll keep 3 I think for speculating on pools

Where did you get the units from?   It seemed pretty rare to end up in users hands.

You need to visit the mining altcoins thread a bit more , Innosilicon is still selling A2s in a new form factor now , something called the A2 farm boy, I was going to buy  a batch of those but with the current prices of LTC i will wait for them to lower prices a bit.

Do you have a link to these?  It does not surprise me if they still did sell as not a whole lot of dev in scrypt.

Were all waiting on someone hopefully to make a miner and share with public.
