Once again we have bounty hunter asking someone else to protect them from their own naivety and lack of constraint to avoid just about any bounty campaign there is.

Why do they keep selling themselves short and accepting these terms where more likely than not they will end up without anything at the end of campaign I'll never understand...
4542  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin Pizza Day on: May 25, 2021, 05:30:37 PM
I understand where you are leading ... but I can assure you that although I did not take other photos, that evening I also baked pizza "pepperoni" and "4 cheeses". I just didn't have a metal mold to leave a red-hot bitcoin trail on every piece of sausage, so I preferred to make bitcoin from Pineapple (it is also yellow-orange / lol).
Yeah it ain't easy to find something that usually goes on pizza, it has yellowish colour, and can keep the shape without melting. Few years ago when I made my first BTC themed pizza I also contemplated on using pineapple as its a logical choice, but since I don't like it on pizza, and I wanted it to be tasty as well looking good, I started experimenting with cheeses. Through  trial and error i found that Milner cheese is capable of withstanding  the heat well, while having nice yellow color. Halloumi cheese is even better for that, but it is white, so BTC sign doesn't look as good as with Milner. Still an option though.

[/i] Regarding Italian cuisine ... I recommend contacting bitbollo, he once gave me a great lasagna recipe.
Haha, as a matter of fact lasagna is my specialty and I make it quite often. I am generally big fan of Italian cuisine, which is probably the best in the world, imho.

Unfortunately, I was never domesticated properly and thus have no skills in the kitchen, else I would participate and craft a pie (that's American slang for pizza) with a giant BTC in it.  Probably not out of pineapple, however.  Olives or mushrooms might be my choice, and I'd probably make a white pizza too.
Its never too late to start. I started making pizzas because when I lived in one small town for a couple of years, and they only had one pizza place, and it was awful. Since I am a big fan of pizza, I simply decided to make one by myself. And after some time and bunch of ruined pizzas, managed to make one that i liked. Cheesy

It still blows my mind thinking about the first pizza being purchased with 10k bitcoin.  That was over a decade ago, but that period of time seems like yesterday to me.  Who'd have thought bitcoin would have hit $65k in 2021?  Probably no one.  Certainly not Laszlo, of the pizza-buying fame.  Crazy, eh?
I think no one, including Satoshi. Bare in mind, Laszlo continued to buying pizzas with bitcoin as he said "I will trade 10,000 BTC for 2 of these pizzas any time as long as I have the funds (I usually have plenty)"

One post from that famous thread was indeed prophetic

Will this eventually become the world's first million-dollar pizza?

4544  Other / Meta / Re: Report plagiarism (copy/paste) here. Mods: please give temp or permban as needed on: May 25, 2021, 03:41:22 PM
Plagiarism (copy paste).

I'll start first. Baking. I love to make bread and cakes, but on my time.

I couldn't imagine having to wake up at 3 am everyday to start making bread.

Imagine when you are so lazy that you can't even answer on a simple question like that and instead you have to plagiarize from reddit. I mean, I know that people often copy/paste when they want to appear more knowledgeable than they are and in order to maybe get some merit, but this is next level stuff. What a stupid way to lose the account...
4545  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Novosti on: May 25, 2021, 10:44:22 AM

4546  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Satoshi Response To Elon Musk's Tweet On Bitcoin Mining on: May 25, 2021, 08:02:12 AM
And, here it is. Exactly as predicted, Elon Musk will save the world from the evil Bitcoin miners.
Haha, that lasted long, what a clown. Buy yeah, everything is developing as we expected it will, so surprises there. Noobs sold crypto and now they are buying back, suing famous "sell low, buy high" tactic.

And the price jumps up $2k after this tweet. Well, combine that with the news that this dip has seen record amounts of buying volume on institutional exchanges, then this whole manipulation seems to have worked exactly as planned. I hope all the weak hands enjoyed selling your coins to Musk and his friends for a huge discount.
Worst of all, I know people that are into crypto for years now, and they started believing his FUD and sold the crypto in fear, expecting full blow bear market. This is how I imagine Elon Musk these days Cheesy

4547  Other / Meta / Re: Ponzi schemes & Investor Based Games on: May 25, 2021, 07:13:13 AM
Similarly, a warning against Ponzi means people are aware that if they invest in a Ponzi they will lose money too.
Where is the warning? On the website? Are they saying you might lose your funds as well? Rather they are promising a high return.
@savetheFORUM will correct me if I am wrong, but when he mentioned warning about the ponzi, he meant that short explanation of Investor-based games board, which says "Games where the main factor is whether or not new "investors" join the game. Also any Bitcoin-denominated investment product with an APY far above the reasonable market rate". And indeed, when you read that explanation, there is no doubt what it is about.

That doesn't mean that board is a safe place where you can freely advertise scam without fear of being tagged, but just the place that forum stuff decide to create in order to clear gambling board, which was swarmed by those scams some time ago. Whatever you do on this forum reflects on your reputation, so if you are willing to advertise scam, you will pay the consequences.
4548  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Novosti on: May 24, 2021, 08:37:01 PM

4549  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Satoshi Response To Elon Musk's Tweet On Bitcoin Mining on: May 24, 2021, 05:43:55 AM
Besides we already have some examples, the biggest I think is John McAfee and his scams during 2017 and 2018. As we now know he too had diminishing effects. He outright called bitcoin a "shitcoin" at some point! There were even some drama with his #dickeating and then him being charged with fraud over shitcoin pump and dumping. None of which had any effects on the market.
I do agree that Elon Musk influence on crypto market will end up the same way it happened with John McAfee, but it will take longer time, simply because Elon Musk is more influental than McAffe ever was, which is not a surprise as he is one of the richest man in the world (at least according to Forbes) and way more interesting to mainstream media due all other businesses connected to him. You said it yourself, you don't even have to have Twitter to learn what Elon said, you simply can't miss it unless you are avoiding all news portals, even mainstream ones.

Just the other day my father called me, and while casually chatting he asked me did Elon Musk and his announcement that Tesla doesn't accept BTC anymore caused this BTC dump. We are talking about a person who doesn't know almost anything about crypto other than I am into it, doesn't follow any crypto news/portals, and doesn't speak English at all. But it was shared in Croatian mainstream media and managed to reach even him.

So yeah, it will take some time before all this calms over and until enough newbies get rekt so they stop following their guru Elon.
4550  Other / Meta / Re: Ponzi schemes & Investor Based Games on: May 24, 2021, 05:25:21 AM
I have seen people being tagged as a troll and those who tagged them, they are part of DT, while Theymos clearly mentioned one should not use negative trust for trolls.
It is true that occasionally DT members leave negative feedback to trolls which is definitely wrong ( while neutral is appropriate one, if one feels so strongly about tagging) but that is more of an exception than the rule. If you as a DT member constantly keep doing that, chance are that sooner or later you will be out of DT system, which is not perfect of course, and there are manipulations there as well.

Imagine a new crypto enthusiast joins the forum and reads the rules, understands that account selling in allowed. He then buys an account and later gets tagged. Did the user made any mistake? I don't think so.
If that crypto enthusiast read the rules, he would see that account sale is "allowed but discouraged". Pretty enough for anyone with an honest intentions. After all, I see no reason why would someone buy the account, other than for financial benefit either through sig campaign, or promoting some business, so I don't really buy a story about "crypto enthusiast".

I am not against tagging Ponzi promoters. Announcing your website to a section meant for it, isn't exactly promoting rather announcing. Anyone who takes money/shares to promote them is wrong and should be tagged.
Tomato tomahto. What is the point of this so called "announcing" other than promotion? That's why they post it there, to promote the ponzi.
4551  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bullrun Done? on: May 23, 2021, 05:38:31 PM
Somehow I don't think that bull run is over. Thing is, people are so scared now and majority think that we are entering into bear market now, and those who are controlling the market want exactly that, people selling their BTC in panic, so they can buy with a nice discount.

So yeah, I think that we have at least few more months left, but it will take some time before we reach those previous levels over 60k. In the meantime, best you can do is to focus on getting more BTC!
4552  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Satoshi Response To Elon Musk's Tweet On Bitcoin Mining on: May 23, 2021, 03:15:30 PM
I think you are grossly overestimating the intelligence of people who spend their money based on the tweets of Elon Musk.
And then there is certain amount of those who know how easily manipulated people are, so are selling too, helping in these pumps$dumps caused by his bs tweets.

To be honest, in his announcement, he said that Tesla will go back to bitcoin "as soon as mining transitions to more sustainable energy." No idea what that meant.
I wish he says  something similar about use of cobalt for his car's batteries that, something like "We won't use any of the cobalt produced in DR Congo until mining companies secure decent working conditions for all those child works there". But somehow he is not so woke and righteous like he is with BTC.

The next post may be that he had "the talk" with bitcoin developers about how to solve the problem.
Yep, we can expect that next.
4553  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin Pizza Day on: May 23, 2021, 02:38:33 PM
I congratulate everyone on Bitcoin Pizza Day! My bachelor pizza is certainly not as beautiful as Rikafip's but it was made by me  Grin
That's the most important thing, so kudos on that! As someone who likes making pizzas, I can appreciate the effort needed and invested in even basic pizza, let alone something themed. Regarding pineapple on your pizza, beware of our Italian members, they won't be happy to see that Cheesy
4554  Other / Meta / Re: Ponzi schemes & Investor Based Games on: May 23, 2021, 08:49:13 AM
I kinda like how this forum stands for it's mission "to be as free as possible". There are more than enough forums on the planet that ban all kinds of things already. That doesn't mean I like it, but I love the freedoms this forum gives. It's quite unique.
I like it too, it's one of the best things about this forum. I am very active on several other forums for about 20 years now, and they are very restricting and very trigger happy when it comes to banning people, sometimes over insignificant stuff so this approach is quite refreshing.

I say let them post anywhere, and forum members will handle that, as they do with any other scam found on any other board.

The reason Investor Based Games board was created was that most of the Ponzi related things were posted in gambling section which was irritating and most of the reputed members during that period were running these shady scams especially forum donators and many reputed members during that period used to vouch for these scams claiming that they are getting money even though those were shitty scams.
Thanks for shining some light on why that board was made. That makes sense, if Gambling Board was  overrun by them, but still kinda sucks to have specific board just for them.

According to me anyone who promotes gambling should be tagged, it's my personal opinion like you have yours about Ponzi. Does that mean I should leave negative feedback to all the gambling sites? Of course not. What I think doesn't matter, I believe, as long as the admin has created a space for something.
If you think that anyone who promotes gambling can't be trusted, leave negative feedback. Investor Based games board is not meant to be a safe space for anything, it's just the place where those types of scams are posted and then its up to forum members to decide whether account posting that can/cannot be trusted.

4555  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Satoshi Response To Elon Musk's Tweet On Bitcoin Mining on: May 23, 2021, 08:23:45 AM
It's just that Elon didn't know it and thought a shitcoin could continue pumping after bitcoin drops and most probably lost a lot of money in that bet too.
That I highly doubt, that he didn't know how BTC dump will reflect on shitcoins. My guess is, he just didn't give a fuck about that, as he probably gained more by tweeting that than (at least in the long run) he lost due BTC and shitcoin price going down.

I also don't think repetition of the same hype and dump would work again. This type of pump and dump works only once.
That's true, you can do that for only so many times before market stops reacting to your tweets, but I don't think that we are there just yet. If Elon announced that he changed his mind on Tesla accepting BTC due "newly found info on sources of energy used for BTC mining" or whatever other bullshit he come up with, price would again start pumping. It's juts how it is at the moment, but it will pass eventually.
4556  Other / Meta / Re: Ponzi schemes & Investor Based Games on: May 23, 2021, 07:47:30 AM
NOTE: I repeat, I am not supporting Ponzis but rather in the favor of either removing the section or just don't tag them.
Imho, removing that section would be the best. Some would say "but it's better to have specific section just for those ponzies so they don't spread around" but why even encourage them when absolutely nothing good can come out of having that here. Its not like that board is busy anyway, there is no more than couple of threads each month.

There is nothing wrong in tagging them and hopefully one day they will start getting banned as well. But OP is questioning why have a section where such kind of crap can be posted only to have those who post there tagged?
That part has been explained to him, which he chooses to ignore. We tag users that are promoting those scams, and those that are ready to promote something like that can't be trusted. It's somewhat similar to account sale; it is allowed but trying to do that will get you tagged.

Nego mene zanima jel ti to imaš pizzeriju ili to sve doma radiš? U svakom slučaju pizze izgledaju super i sad sam ogladnio.

4558  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Novosti on: May 22, 2021, 04:08:41 PM

https://twitter.com/Pontifex/status/1394993742226939905

Happy Bitcoin Pizza Day everyone, have a slice of this delicious homemade bitcoin-themed pepperoni pizza!

Okay everyone, I know this is long overdue and the time is short but let's start the server's updates with continuing the tradition of the Bitcoin pizza contest!

To see the rules and participate join the #pizza-day-event-2021 channel.
The contest is very similar to last year, which you could check in the #pizza-day0event-2020 channel.
Total prize pool is 0.01 BTC so far but it might increase.

Good luck and looking forward to seeing some Bitcoin pizza deliciousness in 2021!
