4541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 17, 2021, 04:04:51 PM

They need to start winning some other games that they are underdogs in...like tonight's game.  Yeah they shouldn't win but that doesn't stop 7-8 point underdogs lose everytime.  Looking for at least a dog fight in this game and not a blowout like the Bucks game.

We had a preview of what might playoff games if the Nets and Knicks will face somewhere in the NBA playoffs but the combined skill of Kyrie Irving and James Harden is hard to beat especially when they are still at the peak of their career. they just got a sneak win today and James Harden got a Tripple-Double. This will be the scene in the playoffs if they still manage to preserve the kind of play they're doing today. The Brooklyn Nets beat the New York Knicks 117-112.

Ueah it could be.  I expect the nets to take the top spot and with the knicks unable to sneak in some wins against the top teams, I think 7-8 is their ceiling.  Hope the dont bottom out in the second half of the season like they normally do. 😒

There's a big competition among the top 3 teams in the East, I have never seen this kind of close competition.

1- Philadelphia 76ers 28-12
2- Brooklyn Nets 27-13
3-Milwaukee Bucks 25-14

Miami Heat also started to win games and in the number 4, but the most surprising of them all is the Hornets, they are now in the top 5.

Yeah quite surprised at the Hornets this year.   Good for them they love been in a hole for awhile and looks like they landed a good one with lamelo.  I expect the bets to dominate once durant gets back, they will be beating most teams by double digits most nights.  I just can't see them getting beat in a 7 game series.  Beating them 4 times will be as tough as it gets.

4543  Economy / Speculation / Re: First Batch of $1,400 Stimulus Checks Hit Bank Accounts Starting Today on: March 17, 2021, 11:57:32 AM
Somebody doesn't want people using their stimulus money to buy bitcoin...
I think whales are doing this on purpose...

Or the billionaires. They want cheaper Bitcoin that where it’s currently priced, but no one is selling their coins anymore. But if HODLers sell, it’s good to see that some regular people from the communty front-run those billionaires. Haha.

Yeah and with as much publicity that crypto has been getting, I'm hoping a lot of the money comes into crypto.  It will likely be a good amount coming in so waiting to see if butcoin, eth etc pull up a bit in the coming days.

Surprising to see BTC going down despite this good news. Bitcoin was trading at $61,000 a couple of days back and now the rate has declined to $55,000. Ideally it should be going up, considering the fact that a lot of those who are going to receive the stimulus cheques will use them to purchase assets such as Bitcoin, gold and equity. IMO, the current dip looks like a short-term phenomenon before the next bull run. We can expect a spike in exchange rates during the next few days, boosted by the stimulus payments.

I don’t believe normal people are going direct Bitcoin, but with M2 Money Supply in its highest in history, inflation will naturally value scarce assets like Bitcoin higher.

I actually think "normal" people will.  For people who don't actually need the money to keep them afloat this is "free" money so why not try your hand in crypto.  If you lose it no big deal.  Maybe not but its a lot of fresh usd that wasn't available last week.

4545  Economy / Speculation / Re: We are going to lose 20% today on: March 15, 2021, 11:14:45 PM
BTC is at around 55k right now but by the end of the day we will see a 20% drop. It will settle around $45k today.

The hype for the week is over.

What is this based on.  A 20% drop when no indication of a massive drop incoming is a bold statement.  Can it sure but why today.  These threads pop up all the time and I mean one of them will be right just by mere statistics but it doesn't mean anything.  Why keep posting these threads?
4546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 15, 2021, 11:12:09 PM
Randle and the New York Knicks continue their domination in the NBA game so far and if they can this kind of game up, they will gonna be torn for whoever they will face in the NBA playoffs. That if they continue to get such win like this in their upcoming games and they really need to stay on their current spot or they might want to continue winning to secure a spot on top 4-6 because behind them are the teams who are expected to go to the NBA Playoffs.

4547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Sell Altcoins on: March 13, 2021, 09:52:10 PM
Hi guys,

a question which i had discussed with some of my friends before:

If you were invested heavy in alts but rather light in btc lets say 30% BTC / 70% alts you made a good profit in dollar.
BUT i have the feeling i wasted so much BTC to buy Alts and right now BTC has surpassed many of them by far.

Do you think it would be wise to sell some Alts for BTC right now?
Or is BTC dominance to high?

Really interested in your thoughts!

Kind regards.

70% alts to 30% bitcoin is always waaaay to high.  I'd immediately sell and get on the right side of bitcoin in your portfolio.  It has always been better to be heavy bitcoin and light altcoins through history.  You are begging to miss out on opportunity with that weight.
4548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Dogecoin reach 1$ soon? on: March 13, 2021, 09:50:14 PM
The dogecoin has already pumped up twice with the help of popular persons like Elon Musk, now that many people are trying to invest in Dogecoin, expecting to have another madness on doge. So what if, Elon Musk and other popular experts stopped supporting this meme coin, is there are a possibility that Dogecoin reaches 1$ on its own?

Well, like what I've said, this is just a meme coin, no utility, no usage but what do you think will be the realistic value of Dogecoin for the upcoming years?

Honestly no.  With the supy always moving higher at a rapid pace I think the only way it does is if bitclin ever gets to $500k ish, and even then that would be a feat, since it would have to outpace bitcoin in a fierce bitcoin bull.
4549  Economy / Economics / Re: holding bitcoin from early 2010 till today on: March 13, 2021, 09:47:05 PM
is there someone holding  bitcoin from early 2010   when the price is around 0.01 and still not selling today?    just wondering?

You have to think someone is.  There are a lot of original wallets with bitcoin that hasn't moved.  Is that on old hard drives or someone with iron hands...no one will know unless they move at some point.  One would like to hope so but definatepy hard not to sell at these prices now lol.

Much needed win against the undermanned thunder.  Without shai on the court they had to win this game.  They won it pretty handedly Which is nice to see.  They have to win all the games they should and win a portion of the games they shouldn't.  Again just want to see them grow and get better.  My boy immanual quickley had a great game again.  He needs more minutes even when peyton comes back to full health.
4551  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2021 top and end of year predictions on: March 13, 2021, 09:41:01 PM
Hi,

I was interested to know what you think Bitcoin will peak at this year and what you think the price will be at the end of each year up until 2025

Here's what I think could be a fair estimate:

2021 peak: $95,000

EOY 2021: $65,000
EOY 2022: $100,000
EOY 2023: $150,000
EOY 2024: $300,000
EOY 2025: $500,000

I think this year somewhere in the mid sixties is a good start.  I dont know if the linear line goes straight to $500k. I think there will be so.e major resistance along the way with tons of profit taking.  For it to be $500k in less than 4 years some major accumulation must occur...I mean major.  But who knows.  I hope so.

Well dang here bitcoin goes again almost hitting $61k usd as we speak.  Thats why its so tough to peg how much it will go up (or down) at any given time.  Guess we can just sit back and watch the badger do its thing this year.  Still stand on mid sixties but that would take a long sideways couple months ahead and seems to be too much upward pressure for that to happen for too long.

4553  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Christie's first NFT Digital art auction skyrockets from $100 to top $13 million on: March 11, 2021, 11:59:12 PM
I dont get it either, I seen this earlier today that is just insane.  I know art and all is subject but this has gone cemetery bonkers.  How much money do you have where you can spend $69million on what basically is a worthless jpeg file lol.  Not trying to demean the art but I can see this come crashing down and become comical.
4554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 11, 2021, 11:56:29 PM
Excited to see the knicks fire up their second half of the season.  I just want to see the knicks compete and get like the 4-6 seed in the East id be fired up to see them in the playoffs finally.  Tough game against the Bucks here but hey any given Sunday right.  Go knicks!
4555  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is over $54,000, hold or sell? on: March 11, 2021, 02:26:21 PM
All of us are talking about this bull run is encouraged by institutions.
Suppose as an individual, will you sell your bitcoins at a good price or just hold them?

Honestly no one really knows right now.  Wouldn't be surprised with a quick run to $65k or a quick drop off back into the mid to lows 40s.  Assess your own situation and if you can afford to hold i would do so.  Sitting back and holding has paid off for those who have continually done so.  If you are going to sell off I would do it in pieces in case it does rise quickly you can still sell some at the higher prices while not completely risking your downside if it drops.
4556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 11, 2021, 02:22:37 PM
Mavericks managed to beat Spurs 115-104 and they got their 4th consecutive win. Doncic had another impressive game and made a triple-double (22 PTS, 12 REB, 12 AST). But I can't say he was very 'impressive' on his 3-pointers.  Grin  He made only 2 out of 10 3-pts. DeRozan's performance with a double-double (30 PTS, 11 AST) wasn't enough for getting a victory.

Doncic was actually taking some really bad shots.  Not to knock his game he led the team to a win and personally nabbed a triple double but he is usually a good shot taker, looks like he was forcing things.  Either way dont look now but Dallas looks like the righted the ship and will be competing for playoff position the rest of the way down.
4557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I have 5k to invest, should I buy Ripple or Litecoin? I do not want to hold on: March 10, 2021, 02:53:00 PM
A lot of people saying litecoin isn't a good coin to invest in right now, most are traders and litecoin isn't a daily trade type coin.  You won't lose your stack in one dump like some of the other "popular" alts right now.  Ypu should have some long term coins in your portfolio too and LTC isn't a bad choice.
4558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I have 5k to invest, should I buy Ripple or Litecoin? I do not want to hold on: March 09, 2021, 02:35:07 AM
First of all, this depends on how much risk you will be able to bear with $5000.

The ROI in the crypto market is definitely greater than the traditional stock market this year. Considering the key factors of each bull market in the past, we’ve seen that Bitcoin always leads the rise of other cryptocurrencies, and continues to rise after breaking its previous high, the remaining mainstream cryptocurrencies follow the Bitcoin bull together.

Compared to other non-mainstream cryptocurrencies, since Bitcoin has already led the rise for a long period of time, the growth potential of BTC in the future is relatively small.

The potential rewards ranked by ATH indicator are as follow:

XRP ( 712.98% ) >LTC ( 106.49% )

If we only consider the top 10 mainstream cryptocurrencies, the ranking would be:

BCH > XRP > XLM > LTC > LINK > BNB > ADA > DOT > ETH > BTC
https://www.quora.com/I-have-5k-to-invest-should-I-buy-Ripple-or-Litecoin-I-do-not-want-to-hold-on-to-this-investment-for-more-than-a-year

100 zillion percent litecoin if those are your 2 choices.  Xrp is going to be riddled with legal issues and the fact that there is a core group who own most of the ripple coins.  What happens if they bail?? Will the demand be able to absorb it.  Litecoin is a nice safe play and historically speaking the price is definately right.  I can see litecoin hitting .005-.0075 which is nice push from here.

That is the keyword there, 'clutch', his been doing this in games, he won this tournament before, so he has the experience and he makes it more interesting. I haven't bet in this match, but if I have Conley, damn, it's going to be a nail biting experience to see Curry hitting the last one.

Maybe Damian Lillard doesn't want to spoil Curry this year, and perhaps he will enter next year when Curry will not compete, so that he will have a good chance to win.
It is a nail-biting moment.
Although it looks fast when you watch it if your bet is on the line everything is in slow motion.  Grin

Damian Lillard Says He, Paul George Moved on from Past Issues: 'Life Is Short'
Good things really happen in All-Star games.
Tomer Azarly's tweet from an interview with PG13:
Quote
I asked Paul George about the range in today's NBA.

PG: "Well I guess i was criticized for the right reason for calling Dame's shot in the playoffs a bad shot. I mean I see this guy's range is crazy."

Me: "So is that no longer a bad shot?"

PG: "It's a great shot. 2 thumbs up."

Well to be honest, damian lillards range is infinite.  Between him and steph those 2 guys can shoot from anywhere within the half court and if they aren't covered or contested its a good shot.  Dame's range is unlimited, dude is insane.  For pg to ever even call him out for taking a "bad shot" is rediculous.  PG takes plenty of awful shots fwiw
4560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum to 100k? on: March 09, 2021, 02:27:39 AM
This would be really hard because there are a lot more Ethereums than bitcoins in the market, while BTC has a total of 21M and 18.6M in circulation, ETH has a total of 114,970,504 ETH in circulation and there is no limit, they keep growing. To see ETH at 100k i think bitcoin will have to cost close to $10M.

But don't forget how the Tokens can bump the network, maybe a new technology on smart contracts can bump ETH to the moon. In the cryptos world, anything can happen.

Agreed, as bitcoin winds down putting out new coins in the circulating supy, eth will just be continuing on injecting new coins into supply.  How can any coin that has continuous supply injection gain traction on price is beyond me.  Not that price is end all be all but when we are talking about price per coin ypu can't ignore the fact that supy isn't capped.
