^I'd put Hamilton in for a surprise win one of these coming races, could be worth the odds actually.

Yeah, good thing you didn't listen to anyone's advice on your picks because you got first on the leaderboard for the Italian grand prix.
Nice one!
I don't know much about Alpha Tauri except the drivers but nothing on their performance as I never put them on my top 15 spots.

Indeed, it's a nice feeling to be benefactor of dumb luck / beginner's luck. Almost more satisfying that getting picks right for sports you're supposed to know shit about!

Tauri's just very appealing for me because of Tsunoda -- actually saw a series on him last year or year before? Aggressive little guy (literally even) but absolutely looking like he's in it for fun. And I'm kind of waiting for Gasly to avenge his RB demotion.

You could say I don't know much about the sport but I don't mind following the personalities (different rather from football where it's a team thing).
4562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: April 27, 2022, 10:55:50 AM
Why can't we get at least one good old football multimaster per year? It is always something connected with some sport I had no clue about. At least NFL is more fun than NCAA, so there is that. Of course I have no clue about predictions but I copied something from some guy that sounds like he sort of knows what he is talking about so we will see  Grin

Still a great promo and I can't believe I could not enter into it yesterday since I was missing 10EUR required bet. I am quite sure I have more than that every single day but maybe it is counting from specific time and it just turned around. Rules are rules but I sort of think that they could skip that request for Gold and higher clubhouse ranks. Those guys wager way more than required anyway Smiley

Would love that! Football MM was lovely, every other thing I'm literally guessing, since even odds don't really help (if you can even find them like for current NFL one). I did go yesterday for what I felt was unlikelier (since that got me far the last one).

I'm always required to do the 10eur bet too, so pretty certain it counts only from the time the promos launch, and I generally settle bets evening/night. 1 or 2 hands at Blackjack or Roulette is enough but you know it ends up being a session if you lose that qualifying bet... heh.

Yeah Steve sorted it out for me and its all good for now. Well I knew that something must have happened especially when most of the promotions are gone, I thought at first it was geo-restricted or some sort but decided to talk to the live chat when the 4-3-free was gone on my account.

Im not gonna lie, I was kinda freaked out when the live support told me that I breached their terms&conditions and I tried to withdraw some of my balance but Sportsbet approved the transaction and I got them in my wallet. Top notch service from Sportsbet because some other sites would normally freeze all balances in an account that breached their terms  Smiley

Bitcointalk and Club Talk membership has its privileges, yeah? Steve and gang really do take care of us, I think now our expectations from bookies are completely skewed. I've got some relatives from partner's side keep asking me about odds I took and why their bookie (physical) can't give the same and I don't really know how else to tell them except to go to Sportsbet and start using crypto heh.
4563  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EFL English Championship League Thread 2021/2022 on: April 27, 2022, 09:47:38 AM
^Talk about Swansea-Bournemouth huh? Home team got into a 3-nil lead, and then of course blew it and Bournemouth got their precious point to fend off Nottingham... who're exactly the same on goal difference. 3 games left, so they'll need to win 2 and draw 1 to guarantee 2nd spot, but N'ham will want to go all the way here, pulling off an awesome win against Fulham..

Going to be one cracker of a match on May 3 when N'ham host Bournemouth!

Think I heard last night Championship best players already awarded... Mitrovic (surprise) and Solanke (surprise). Standard stuff huh?
4564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: April 26, 2022, 08:54:38 PM
What a game, guys, what a game. I took Real double chance live right before they closed the gap with 2:1, thought 13/1 was really good but their defence was just so willing to give goals away that it never really came close, even if they closed the gap again twice more.

4-3? I would have at best fantasy put 3:2 but this was a game for the ages. Just surprised how City was miles away the better team and still made it so close. GN guys. Who says Champs League is boring huh?

Meh, what a damned bloody start. Mahrez cross, KdB miles onside, and a goal within 2 minutes, Real didn't even get the ball out of their half yet. Terrible start for my bet so am only hoping this is typical Real shit start. No Casemiro but hope Kroos and Modric turn on the magic, maybe they're just preferring to go behind first to make it a match. Oh woe is Real, ha ha.

4568  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 26, 2022, 02:27:41 PM
Next is Utd vs Chelsea. Chelsea is easy pick?

It is for me. Arsenal was an easy pick too in my mind, only because of United's form and horrible state of play, but their last game they played about a third as the better side, so you never know which side turns up. Could actually be better without Maguire and Pogba.

To be honest, you've got to question Pickford's attitude when he's time wasting as much as he did, but also the fact he's winking to the fans as he's doing it, when ideally to get out of danger they need to be winning games.

Yeah, Alisson had his retribution too once we got Origi to secure the game... lying down after a tame catch. That team was not playing to win, in a derby. You really have to question their desire now -- or that of their coach. At this point, you wonder if this Everton should stay up at the expense of teams like Burnley who happen to be half decent to watch. Or maybe I'm just saying that as still can't really get used to the weirdly captivating phenomenon called Weghorst who stirs in me the same eerie fascination of watching Crouch dribbling.
4569  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 26, 2022, 01:25:08 PM
Man guys I know it's not La Liga but I really really want Real to perform today, so we can meet them in the final, and Villareal to NOT perform tomorrow so we can meet Real in the final haha.

I probably shouldn't put more money than I already have on them (ML) so am a bit relieved odds are going down (I got them as high as 7.38), today was as low as 5.8 but now back to 6.3 so I'm hoping that's just because people are betting more and more money on City lines.

It could never happen since Liverpool supporters would not sell their tickets to opposing supporters that easy. I don't blame the club for this situation that much. They were selling the tickets directly and trough some agencies. All Barca tickets are transferable and Germans were willing to pay premium. They just bought a shitload of tickets from those agencies and Barca supporters that were not that interested in the game. I heard the tickets were going 3-4 times their initial price.

Am also reading about PSG ultras not even celebrating the title with their team. I mean, I totally get it. Fans can get disenchanted and if they're angry, they're angry, it's probably better to walk out than to go to the extent of attacking players like in Marseille during training, or like the ftards behind the Maguire bomb thing. Nothing can justify that. But yeah, even for me to attend a full game at Anfield in 2016, still needed to convince a season ticket holder (who couldn't attend) with a semi KYC on me haha. Which I totally understood and did absolutely.
4570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many CODERS has Bitcointalk? on: April 26, 2022, 08:03:54 AM
I wonder if it's any more (maybe less for most) interesting to know how many have left Bitcointalk too. Pretty sure that number's not insignificant. Probably not as meaningfully impactful as coders who've left the Bitcoin project altogether, but I do wonder if anyone still active as maintainers no longer post on the forum. Have always assumed they're watching at least.

Amir Taaki's the one guy I can think of in the former camp.

So BVB was disappointing, Haaland didn't even get on the scoresheet, but we've got a great Champions League match on tonight and I'd have put money on Real at 4/1 in a heartbeat, but City playing at home gives us great odds at over 7/1.

Pair that with a Liverpool win tomorrow, good value?

4572  Economy / Speculation / Re: Elon Musk buys Twitter on: April 26, 2022, 06:16:43 AM
Am I the only one who felt the bile rise in my throat reading crap like "where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated"? I think the other bits are all good -- not to mention now we'll probably finally see actual crypto utility in Twitter, all be it shiba or whatever (damn, more bile rising) -- but no need to precede profit intents with vainglorious claims of importance on behalf of those actually doing something about "humanity".

Big yawn for me. Couldn't care less if Elon buys Twitter or TikTok or more bitcoin.
4573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 25, 2022, 07:48:19 PM
^I went against my gut for this one too, and even ignored the form for Leeds because I've watched Palace play more maybe and it's really hard to ignore how good they can be at direct play, as opposed to Leeds who haven't really got out of Bielsa gear, all tempo and no guile. I want to say "more intelligent" but I'm not sure that's the right word, Zaha for sure but I'm never really convinced about Ayew, who's more clever than intelligent.

Still, not enough quality on either side and we're at HT scoreless, Palace probably deserved a goal, until hot heads ruined the last 10 mins.

Sorry I didn't see this one earlier slam, big win, well done, that's how you do it. Pity you kept Arsenal on a separate ticket, but you know, better a bird in hand than two in the... bush. haha.

Anyway, good stuff coming for all ye fans of Multi Master! NFL Draft, woo hoo, think I went quite far last year (was it so long ago already?) but lost out in the final leg. Let's go!

^Oh huh, I had no idea that whole thing happened at Camp Nou (just reading about it now), but that's bordering ridiculous (although seriously, if only half the stadium was filled with away fans and Barca fans got drowned out by... Frankfurt... that's another issue to be had all together).

It does remind me of the last local game I watched in 1999 though. My state team, the serious underdogs, won a place in the final against the best team in the land... which wasn't even from our country. 100% short small local lads versus a foreign club full of European imports haha. But on request of the other team, afraid of our fans, the FA broke tradition and played the game in a stadium far away from us, where you'd need to fly to (this was 1990s, where not everyone could afford plane tickets, and well, in my own family, almost no one had ever flown before).

Still, it ended up the stadium was overflowing, with loads more camped outside, and the other team fans all sat in one small VIP section.

We still lost, 2-1, and after the riots, that stadium was never used again until today for an official football game heh.

Sorry off topic but can't imagine the repercussions at Anfield if they allowed half the stadium to be filled with away fans.
4576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 25, 2022, 01:42:45 PM
He's English, so there's a little extra banter to be heard about it, since obviously banter is a very British thing. Also, he does some pretty comical things at times. Honestly, he kind of reminds me of Phil Jones. Obviously, the biggest thing for Maguire is he cost so much, and has delivered nothing up to this point. At least Phil Jones wasn't a massive transfer.

Phil Jones, ah, the one that Ferguson settled for after deciding Henderson ran funny (and how we ended up getting Hendo instead of Jones!). Funny how things eventually turn out many years down the line, with different coaches and different styles.

It is much more complex than 'Maguire is crap'. Or well, it isn't. United is crap Grin

It definitely is much more complex than that. I do feel for him. But he could have been managed better. Klopp could have been deemed cruel when he dropped Karius after his own set of defensive atrocities but he probably prevented him from doing even worse (though he seemed to have carried that cloud over to Turkey after).

If his form dipped (which it did) and his confidence meant he could no longer captain (which it did), you take him off and sort it out first.

Thank you very much swogerino! I did mess around with the picks, and at some point even put LeClerc out of podium but put him back in -- fearing slipping down further the ranks. Should have listened to my gut! Even got 5,6 and 7 right, just one spot displaced down.

Great win, and probably one of the more boring ones as Verstappen led right from start to end. But nice get on yellow cap, strange to see so many spoons huh?
4578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where have you saved your bitcoin keys? (satoshi saved it in cd rom! allegedly) on: April 25, 2022, 07:31:04 AM
I definitely have a hot wallet where my keys (or rather, my seed phrase) are stored digitally and in a way easy for me to access on the go. It's still horribly inconvenient, not to mention the wallet app itself is pretty bad but as far as phone apps go I make the security sacrifice for convenience (as we all do). Worst case scenario, hot wallet lost is not a lot of money.

I've considered a secondary semi-hot wallet (I'm making things up) where I'll only memorise the seed phrase to restore when needed. Terrible idea unless you find a way to help you remember if you forget.
4579  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 24, 2022, 07:31:17 PM
Damn it toma, stop predicting such nonsense stuff for Rayo.

Was doing so-so this weekend, but final bet still alive looks like it's going down the drain as needed Barca to lead by HT... and of course, they want to make life difficult for themselves. 15 minutes to go to score 2 and give me hope?

-- nice on for Betis, and exactly, Villareal can qualify for Champions League the way they did this season -- by winning their European final and beating English royalty =D
