I think that manufacturers are trying to save on thermal pads or the supplier of thermal pads is trying to save money, so thermal pads release liquid when heated. I have not changed my thermal pads, and when changing thermal paste, I wipe the liquid from the video card. This does not affect the operation of the video card

https://2miners.com/blog/check-the-real-ping-to-the-mining-pool-server-with-stratum-ping-tool/"What Is Ping To the Mining Pool? Now let’s get to the mistake many people are making: when they talk about “ping to the pool”, they actually think about the standard ping utility (named the same in Windows and Linux), which uses special ICMP packets to measure the particular host response time, but… this is not exactly relevant for a mining pool. Let me explain why. First of all, ICMP is a different type of protocol that is being handled by the Internet routing machinery differently. While mining, you use TCP/IP. When you connect via TCP/IP to the pool, you’re connecting to the actual software that powers the pool (in most cases for serious mining pools this is proprietary tools that are engineered by professional programmers), and guess what, it may perform differently than a low-level part of the operating system that handles ICMP responses. If the pool server is very busy the pool software may respond slowly but the ICMP pong packets (that’s right, a response to ping is called “pong”) would be sent out immediately." safar1980 wrote about this in the Russian board https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5319780.0

Well you can just make a current probe and measure the current on one of your wires from the wall and just multiple by voltage and you will get the correct wattage reading and just throw away the meter which is giving you the incorrect reading. Most likely the issue is the meter isn't accurate at wattages that high, if you pull less power, say 700 Watts and measure with both, then I think they would get the identical reading. However if its too high of a load, it might get incorrect reading. Same reason how the KillAWatt can't measure the wattage properly of a microwave. Just shows crazy values. Ampermert is inexpensive, but in order to use it, you need to connect it to each outlet in series, and this is inconvenient. I have power supplies with a built-in wattmeter, but this application does not work in Hive OS. You can use Wi-Fi sockets with a built-in wattmeter, but this is expensive, although very convenient. I use a budget wattmeter for $ 12, and check its data with the data from the power supply wattmeter. A reading difference of 2-5% does not lead to a serious error

I'm doing some clean up on my rigs today and I notice some liquids coming from my gpus, like 5 of them like water stuff pour on them, but the cards are working fine but still that liquid doesn't look good at all, what could cause this?
This liquid appears when the thermal pads are heated, but it does not harm the video card. I saw answers from video card manufacturers that this is not a defect. Many miners recommend installing video cards horizontally or in another way so that this liquid does not get into the PCI-e connector, motherboard and power supply

wikipedia.orgThe whole world, except America, Japan, Mexico, uses the 220 volt standard. The higher the electrical voltage, the lower the loss in the wires. For example, in the USSR, until 1960, the 127 volt standard was used, but then this standard was changed to 220 volts to save money, so that thinner wires could be used.

Reduce core to 1250-1300 and memory to 900(1800). If the farm will not restart, then increase these values. Try to test on a teamredminer. When patching the upgraded BIOS, any problems may arise: The video output may stop working or the video card will turn into a brick. Better to customize your graphics card yourself.

120v or 240v better for mining? I mean country frequency, leaving a country like US that use 120v 60hz to another country that use 240v 50hz doesn't this impact mining in any ways?
Remember the school physics course and the well-known formula: P=U*I P- Constant value If we decrease the electrical voltage(U), then we increase the strength of the current(I). And the higher the current, the thicker the wires are needed for the design of the electrics. https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/kilowatt-hourIn Russia, energy consumption is recorded in kilowatt*hour If a farm consumes 1 kilowatt and works for 1 day, then its consumption will be equal to 24 kilowatt*hour For industrial facilities with high energy consumption, it is better to use 240 volts.

whether this is normal? Or I need to adjust overclock better? Here is how the graph looking on the Sparkpool app.
You only need to monitor the average hash rate and the reported hash rate. You have good hash rates, and if your farm is stable, then do not interfere with her mining cryptocurrency. If during memory overclocking to 2100 there are no stale shares, the memory frequency is selected correctly. I don't see the point of overclocking anymore

When I chose 5600 series video cards for mining, the msi 5600 xt mech cost $ 40 cheaper than ASUS and SAPPHIRE. But even now 38 megahash is a good result. Video cards on Samsung memory are very energy efficient, and on Micron memory they overclock better

Hello from the past ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) An interesting idea, but when I used Windows for mining, I connected to each farm remotely, cut the team viewer, launched a new miner and changed the settings in MSIAfterburner. Today, there are many useful operating systems for mining that allow you to automate processes without these games.

Sometimes the problem is a malfunction of the motherboard. You have made all the necessary settings. If your power supply is in good working order and additional power is supplied to the raisers, then this is either a faulty motherboard or a faulty raiser. It might be worth testing on a different motherboard.

The RM 5600 XT works fine with standard settings of 40-41 megahash. If you need to get a higher hash rate, then you need to flash the BIOS of the video card. Then you can get 44-45 megahash. Different video cards may have problems, for example, the video output stops working, so you need to read the forums for each of the models.
I'm going no where with these MSI 5600 XT cards. I'm using MSI Afterburner to control the settings on the cards. I have Sync turned on so all the cards get the same treatment. If I lower the Core Clock to 1700 vs the stock 1780 the system eventually hangs with the Power Limit set to -10%. I ran GPUZ 2.37 and discovered three of the cards have Micron memory and one has Samsung Memory. The GPU Power Draw is 109W on the Samsung Memory card and 121,121, and 128W on the Micron cards. So...do I need to try OC'ing (Actually D-Clocking to reduce total Wattage used by this system) each card separately since they seem to have different characteristics? At least all the cards have the same BIOS Version 017.001.000.068.0000 if that means anything. msi 5600 xt mech or msi 5600 xt gaming x? msi 5600 xt mech honestly not very good video cards for mining. These video cards have a very cheap cooling system. They freeze when overclocked. The optimal settings must be selected individually for each card. But use the early days at standard frequencies.

Turn on 4G Decoding in BIOS. Gen 1 or Gen 2 in DMI / OPT settings and your card should support 6 video cards with no problem. It is better to install Hive OS on a USB flash drive and get used to using this system. 1 farm is free. If you are building only a farm, then you do not need to buy 16 GB of memory and NVMe PCIe M.2 2280

I'm getting DAG verification failed, invalid 100% on rx580 8gb mining ethereum with NBminer, any solution to this?
You may have problems with your graphics card drivers. Older drivers did not support a Dag file larger than 4 GB. Update AMD drivers. I have drivers from October or November 2020. Or see the versions of compatible drivers in the instructions for your miner version. And increase the size of the Virtual Memory (Pagefile) In Windows.

You can't name all your rigs the same name, it should be miner01, miner02 etc but insert same ethereum wallet in the rigs and all the rigs will mine straight to the wallet
And you try to name 3 installations with the same name and you will see that there will be 1 rig in the control panel and the hash rate from all computers will be summed up. It has nothing to do with the mining hashrate. If you do this, then you will not know which computer is not working for you, so you will have to check 3 computers instead of one.

Did you try doing the oven trick on your dead GPUs. In my experience it brought about half of them back to life... for many another 3-9 months or so.
All you need to do is disassemble the GPUs from the heatsink, cover any components with aluminum foil, leave the GPU chip exposed, put it in at some desired temp and you are all set. There are videos on Youtube on how to do this. Best to use some toaster oven that you don't use.
Wait until it cools and put it back in. You will be surprised that most of the time it works. To make it last as long as possible try and don't do too many heat cycles because that kills it again. So leave you rig mining and don't shut it off too often. The more you shut it off and let it cool and then heat up again, the less hours you will get out of it.
What is your experience with graphics cards after the oven trick? I use a hair dryer from a soldering station for this, if friends ask for a very cheap subordinate video card, but you do not know which module needs to be heated. My experience says that such video cards will then have to be heated every 1-2 months if they are used in mining. 9 months is an exception to the rule.

Just wondering is it still worth investing 10k$ in graphics cards and mine on the long run or is mining dead with ETH new announcement ...
Thanks,
$ 10,000 now costs 1 farm 3060ti * 6 video cards. But be careful with investments, because the new Nvidia models will be limited in Ethereum mining. I will wait for a drop in prices for video cards and only then I will invest in mining. So far, I believe that the prices for video cards are very expensive. It may happen that you invest $ 10,000 and the profit per day drops to $ 6 from 1 farm.

580 video cards are very poorly overclocked in terms of memory frequency. They work unstable with a memory frequency of more than 2000 megahertz. You need to download the BIOS of these video cards and see if it has been modified. A hash rate of 24 megahash indicates that the bios is stock there. If you use the search, you will find a way to do this.

Your stores do not sell thermal paste and perm pads. You need to have 2 sets of thermal pads 0.5 mm ,1 mm,1.5 mm,2 mm in stock. and such thermal paste https://www.ozon.ru/product/termopasta-arctic-mx-4-4-gramma-160265987/#section-description--offset-80Thermal conductivity of thermal pads 4-6 W / mK Do not use ceramics and metals. For 1070, the usual ones are suitable. When you remove the cooling system, you need to measure the thickness of the thermal pads and use the same If the thickness is greater, you can stick one thermal pad on top of another. Coolers change in such a way that the video card has to be mined, and not wait for repair. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ibb.co%2Frs1rNRr%2Fimage.jpg&t=663&c=UHcHA5eyoR3xUA)
