4581  Economy / Speculation / Re: Paypal allows crypto payment for all 29mil merchants on: March 30, 2021, 03:19:15 PM
Don't forget that PayPal still works with IOUs they call Bitcoin, not with actual Bitcoin: you cannot deposit nor withdraw, nothing happens on the blockchain...
And the same goes for the other coins too.

Fully agree its compete crud.  There honestly is no need for PayPal to middle man for the consumer to use bitcoin.  They can just use crypto payments directly.  PayPal is using bitcoin as a flashy way to prop themselves up.  It will work for a short time but crypto doesn't need PayPal, PayPal needs crypto.
4582  Economy / Economics / Re: More bullish news: Paypal will alllow crypto checkout on: March 30, 2021, 03:16:17 PM
Up until now, Paypal allowed you to buy Bitcoin. Now it will allow you to spend it. The purists will be unhappy that it will do so through automatic conversion to Fiat but this is yet another step towards mass adoption.

"PayPal, which last year added the ability to buy, hold and sell cryptocurrency, is pushing it as a payment method across the 29 million or so online merchants connected to the fintech giant.

Announced Tuesday, PayPal’s Checkout will allow bitcoin (BTC), ether (ETH), bitcoin cash (BCH) and litecoin (LTC) to be seamlessly converted into U.S. dollars or other fiat currencies when making purchases, the same as credit card or a debit card would work inside a PayPal wallet, said PayPal — meaning merchants will not actually be the recipients of cryptocurrencies.

Calling it “a new way for businesses to get paid,” the checkout service is all about driving mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies, said Dan Schulman, president and CEO, PayPal.

“Enabling cryptocurrencies to make purchases at businesses around the world is the next chapter in driving the ubiquity and mass acceptance of digital currencies,” Schulman said in a statement.

Cryptocurrencies are going mainstream with banks and institutional investors taking an interest, but the utility of Bitcoin and other crypto tokens when it comes to buying goods has always been limited due to their volatility.

But PayPal, which made a huge splash when it officially entered the crypto space last October, wants to smooth those wrinkles out and get its wide network of merchants onboard.

Since introducing the crypto service, PayPal has increased weekly purchase limits two times from $10,000 to $15,000 and then $20,000."

I find it comically hilarious how soon paypal has switched its tune.  What's next, Western union will allow us to go to their office and have them send crypto to another person for us for a fee.  PayPal isn't needed and its only a matter of time before they are phased out like blockbuster.
4583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you already know the new Brazilian Dogecoin? on: March 30, 2021, 03:33:27 AM
Launched a few days ago, $REAU is valuing a lot, the community is growing rapidly and the project promises to surpass Dogecoin, because it has a better protocol and is decentralized, what do you think?

Site link: https://br.viralata.finance/

Reddit Community: https://www.reddit.com/r/ViraLataFinance/

$REAU was made to be Brazil's cryptocurrency, to protect Brazilians from the devaluation of the REAL (R$), and also to help street dog associations and more.

Dogecoin is just a meme, $REAU has everything Dogecoin should be, in addition to a meme, by the way, certainly $REAU will have the support and investment of all Brazilians, when $REAU becomes known worldwide it will surely go to the moon.

Within a few days, $REAU is rising very quickly, and the community of supporters and investors is growing surreally.

Lol stop it.  First off what does this have that doge doesn't?  And if Brazilians need crypto to protect them from fiat devaluation there is a coin that exists that will and can do this for them.  Called bitcoin ypu might have heard of it.

And is a whe nation going to turn to a dog meme coin as their safe haven? 😶
4584  Economy / Economics / Re: Big test for Bitcoin during the next Economic Collapse. on: March 30, 2021, 03:30:41 AM
I am starting to believe that Satoshi created Bitcoin for what’s coming next, or might come next. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, I’m not sure about the rest of the countries, but the United Stated Federal Reserve prrrrinted inordinate amounts of U.S. Dollars to stimulate the economy, with plans to print trillions more under President Biden. All the prrrrinting and a falling GDP MIGHT be the seeds for the worst situation of an Economic Crisis. HYPERINFLATION.

Bitcoin has been criticized as a medium “for speculation”. Big test. Is it just merely “for speculation”, or an actual “safe haven”? Will Bitcoin crash together with the rest of the economy, or will everyone run to it as a Store of Value?

Thats the million dollar question.  I think we are headed towards a huge long recession in the US and I think all financial instruments will suffer.  Less fresh money in the field will slow the gas throwing on this fire we got going right now.  These covid benefits everyone is getting is proving up the economy right now wont be lime that after this year.  Hope I'm wrong though
4585  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 29, 2021, 03:04:37 AM
The Nets and the Lakers should be praised and not vilified. Look at where these teams were a few years ago. The Nets had literally the worst situation in the league, with a terrible team and most of its draft capital traded away for hasbeens by one Billy Knight. I'm a Lakers fan and I remember the golden days of Ronnie Price, Robert Sacre and Byron Scott telling everyone threepointers are overrated. Both teams were an effing joke.

What happened since then is both teams fired their incompetent GMs and got people who actually understand basketball. Both teams executed shrewd trades, especially LA had a few really good drafts, though Brooklyn found Jarett Allen at pick 20. Then they had the stars sign with them, but neither LeBron nor Durant would have signed if the teams had stayed terrible. At the point of signing the stars both teams had a good cadre of young players on reasonable contracts. In prior years the Lakers couldn't even get meetings with top free agents, let alone a serious conversation.

Sure, players prefer to come to LA or New York than to Minnesota, but you gotta create the conditions to have them sign in the first place and you do that by smart management. The Knicks or Bulls are a great example how to not do business.

Praised no.  The Nets and Lakers literally did nothing.  If the Nets didn't have the players you think Blake and Aldridge sign with the nets no.   Its disappointing that the players want to form "super teams".  The only thing it intrigues is superficial fans not actual fans.  I know for a fact Nets will win the East so long as everyone is healthy...what is fun about that.  Players today are soft...they need a super team to go for a championship instead of getting there on their own.  As a knick fan I HOPE they never go this route.  I'd rather them be terrible for 20 more years than to just get the NBA all nba team on their team and win a chip..but maybe thats just me
4586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 28, 2021, 09:37:58 PM
Andre Drummond is now officially a Laker!

Had to make sure I was the first one to break the news this time. Finally, the Lakers have a true center and will most certainly make for some NBA Finals competition! I’m excited. Great day for Lakers fans and the NBA!

Ok so after so much speculation, although majority of us thinks that he will really go to the Lakers, now it's official. He needs to get his body ready as a Laker, they are the defending champs and hope he will be vital for the team to at least make it competitive in the West. They are not 4th and just won their last game, losing 3 though in their last 4 games.

At this point this is getting kind of stupid.  A coue all star teams and everyone else.  The Nets situation is rediculous, now when everyone is healthy on the Lakers another redicullus team.  Sorry but its the jazz and Lakers in the west and the nets in the East (so long as everyone is healthy) and then the rest of the NBA.  Its gonna get boring if this is the way it is.

Honestly I miss the 80s and 90s nba where the best players wanted to play against each other and not with each other.  Made for a balanced nba and great rivalries.  This is getting to be a joke...
4587  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin back to $ 10,000? on: March 28, 2021, 09:35:02 PM
What threshold will bitcoin go down this year?

Why an open ended question with just the option to go down.  Can it, yep, can it go over 6 figure usd value, yep why not.  I think it will settle in around this price fluxing between 40k and 65k for awhile there will be too much buy pressure under that and touch sell pressure above that I think.  But hell I've never been right with my predictions so I guess carry on lol.
4588  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: significance of different altcoilns on: March 28, 2021, 09:27:13 PM
Hey Guys, im still very new to crypto.  is there a resource to learn about the significance of different altcoins before investing?

Well welcome to the fun but there is not just any one stop shop.  What I can tell you is to diversify your readings.  Make sure before you buy into something exhaust all media outlets as you can (here, redit, twitter, medium articles, and lots of google).  If you read one article and get sold it can very much be biased so be careful.  And again welcome to the show enjoy your time here Smiley
4589  Economy / Speculation / Re: Damn, I should've bought bitcoin earlier! on: March 28, 2021, 09:24:01 PM
Its still not late to get in, I always hear this now I wish I wish...well go buy.  The top has not yet been hit for sure.  As much talk that crypto has gotten in mainstream media it is just starting to hit peoples portfolio.  Once it's in everyone's we will be well past 5 figure usd bitcoin.  Buy now and buy as often as you can.

Hi TheCaliReign,

we agreed via email that I purchase the print. I sent the bitcoins to you and then never heard back from you. This was on 24th february. I expect you to immediately ship the artwork.

Just wanted to state this publicly. Hope you are not trying to scam me.

You probably got scammed if it was done off site.  Did you contact here and are you sure it was the right person.  I'd always recommend using escrow to keep yourself protected.  Either way good luck.
4592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 28, 2021, 03:00:11 PM
I had to jump on the Knicks moneyline @ 1.77 right after i saw how many Bucks players are ruled out and not going to play today.

For MIL will not suit up: Giannis, Middleton, Holiday, and DiVincenzo...that's four starters right there.  Shocked

Randle also out but no way in hell Bucks win here playing almost exclusively with their bench, 1.77 is a gift imo, given the circumstances of course.

edit; Bucks starting five: Merrill, Toupane, Nwora, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, and Lopez  Cheesy

edit2; Disappointed by the Knicks not winning in a more convincing fashion, but whatever....glad i was able to cash in the U218.5 too, so 2/2 on the day.

Yeah that was a decimated bucks team but the knicks were without Randall which is their heart and soul this year.  All in all good win by the knicks.  Hope they can sit in the 4-5 position come playoff time so any win against a team ahead of them is good no matter who is playing.

Today I got the Lakers ML against the magic.  I see the magic tanking the rest of the way from here.  Lakers need to win this one so I think they win by acomfortable margin.
4593  Economy / Goods / Re: FOR SALE: Original Satoshi Times 03/01/2009 on: March 28, 2021, 02:55:53 PM
Interesting item, but I wonder in what condition paper is and how is he keeping it because it can degrade a lot if not kept properly.

Food for though... how hard would be for someone to plagiarize that exact newspaper and make several copies, and how to verify it is genuine?

Very true.  If given enough financial incentive (and this piece does) anything can and will be counterfeited.  The only question is how good would it be?  OP good luck with your sale but I think the days of asking 10 bitcoin for this piece is over.  Either way I'd love to see you sell it for that Smiley
4594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 25, 2021, 10:17:12 PM
I don't know what to bet anymore and I don't know who to bet anymore.

Last day have been like a storm for my tickets as no matter what I took it ended up as a loose as last night per example I had Bulls to win and Grizzlies and I don't know how a team like Bulls can loose to Cavs especially when they need a lot of points to prove that they are for real and they deserve the play offs. What did they do today ? They took Vucevic who is one great player and I'm glad Bulls moved as soon as they saw they need a scorer and a defender on same time.

I'm with you, the Denver game looked like a lock and ended up being the most lopsided win of the year for Toronto and biggest loss for Denver lol go figure.

Welp tonight I'm riding the ML with the knicks.  They looked great against the wiz the other night and hope they can repeat the performance.  Only problem is I dont see them containing beal like they did last game.  Oh well here we go lol.
4595  Economy / Economics / Re: Miners Hodling Rates Increases. on: March 24, 2021, 11:18:02 PM
Miners are hodling more bitcoin might than ever, the selling rate has dropped so low in the last two months compared to the previous years where the selling rate was 87%. Is it a positive sign or a negative? Or are we expecting another dump as they did some weeks ago at $43k? Seemed like the price of bitcoin is gonna rise above 75k dollar as predicted in the next few weeks.

Is it a good sign for bitcoiners? Or we should get ready for a massive dumb incoming?

Overall holding only increases upward pressure since by obvious reasons less coins get released into the circulating supply.  Less supply on exchange means demand, if the same, would have to buy up the price.  Interesting chart ypu have here never really looked at miner hold rates.
4596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do some people stop their crypto project? on: March 24, 2021, 11:14:54 PM
In a short while that I have been in cryptocurrency I have seen so many crypto project and fantastic budget and planned you see that some of them still left the project unfinished some even do stop the crypto project without any pre_information about the sudden change of plans concerning the particular project so what do you think about the crypto project that have been suspended half way , what do you think that should be done for this kind of the attitude of crypto developer's concerning crypto project abandoned project.

Lol welcome to crypto.  99.9% of what you see and read is a scam so look out.  Most altcoins serve no purpose other than for a quick buck for the "developers".  Best to stick most of you crypto stack in bitcoin and only put in alts what you expect to lose 100% of.  Anything less and ypu will be disappointed many times over.
4597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 24, 2021, 11:12:33 PM
Nets really improve and they continue to show it up, with how Harden leading the team they've got everything they need to counter
They have improved really and with their upcoming match later against Utah Jazz, it's also one of the best teams that we can say this time and also a contender for the title.

Who's your bet?

Their roster is also good as the Nets.

I guess Nets will lose here, here's the latest update that might decrease the chance of the Nets in winning.

https://www.nba.com/news/james-harden-questionable-blake-griffin-out-vs-jazz

Griffin is confirm out, while Harden is questionable, if Harden is out, its automatic that the Jazz will win, that's easy to predict.

Yeah with durant, kyrie, possibly harden and Blake out that will be a tough game for them lol.  They might as well not throw harden out there and let him rest too.  No need to push him when they will be dogs in this game even if he does play.
4598  Economy / Speculation / Re: How far below $10k in 2021? on: March 24, 2021, 10:53:47 PM
If you're familiar with good math and science and have done the work to confirm using good sources, then you know bitcoin will be below $10k sometime in 2021 <---fact. How soon do you think it will be below $10k and by how much? Interested in your scientific opinions.

I would be interested in your good math and science that you came to the conclusion bitcoin will fall below $10k. Not saying you are wrong but just making a statement like this doesn't give it any credibility.  Is this a troll post??
4599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 24, 2021, 10:51:01 PM
I'm really liking Charlotte over Houston at -4.  Even with lamelo out i still like them. Houston won finally stopping their  losing streak, I think they start a new one again Smiley  them and the nuggets are my 2 picks.
4600  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 24, 2021, 05:15:32 PM
Hawks are hungry to win after a defeat from the Clippers.
While the Kings just recently won against the Cavs.

My bet will be for the Hawks -3.5 in a safety position.
10 games for tomorrow and some are good games to profit from. Best of luck.

That's a tough one.  I'd rather bet the over under on that.  For me my golden pick today would have to be Denver -1 against Toronto.  Toronto just lost to Houston coming of a crazy long losing streak, and they are talking about parting ways with Lowry and Powell, with the deadline looming either or might not play and if they do might be disinterested since they might be moving.  Love Denver in this one.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/31124737/toronto-raptors-discussing-kyle-lowry-norman-powell-trades

Just curious, with how Denver is performing that handicap is easy to cover, not sure if there's news in regards to the player which are  injured or if the coach's will bench those starting five.

But seems solid knowing how Raptors are playing, after that loss from Houston who really unperforming.

It's -1.5 @ 1.83 now after looking inside Stake.

With the way rapters has played over the last 10 or so games, they look like their throwing in the towel, and if a player is involved in trade talks between teams they usually bench them so they don't get hurt.  Hoping this one is over by half or 3rd quarter.
