4584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Genesis-mining.com || World's leading hashpower provider! on: January 09, 2017, 02:37:10 AM
tho genesis mining is totally legit in as far as they pay out regularly exactly as promised per hashrate one buys.
however if one does the math as with any cloud mining service you will never achieve roi because difficulty increases folks.
take the money you would use to buy a contract and simply autobuy bitcoin directly
on a daily basis (coinbase will let you do this for example if
for whatever reason you just like to see daily deposits in your wallet.) you will achieve the same
effect of having daily bitcoin deposits (along with the benefit of bitcoin's increasing value over time)
without ever having to wonder if you will ever get your original
investment back had you paid for a contract (you wont). as ive said many times before...its not rocket science.
btw this is the only thread ive had my post deleted due to speaking the truth about this cloud mining operation

http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-price-triple-2017-saxo-bank-prediction/ What do you guys think of this news?
Is there a possibility of this prediction to come true?

yes. or it could be $2 or $200,000. most experts were predicting $4000 plus for 2014. that didn't quite happen.

I was predicting a price of $750 for January 1 back in 2015.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1309383.0

 Wink

your  post predicting $750 on jan 1st 2017 was dated dec 30 2015, so fer shitz n giggles i looked up price for that day ....$433.00

holy shit man!! youre good!!

then again your spot on prediction as of today could turn out wrong... we got another 3 weeks for price to go haywire... this is bitcoin after all.
though i tend to believe come the 1st of year ..you nailed it dude.

ok so i got one thing right .........the price went haywire...about as impressive as being correct in predicting the suns comin up in the morning...
4590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.10.0 on: January 08, 2017, 08:58:31 PM
So just fired up my doge wallet after like a 2 year hiatus just for a shiggle.
such wow history!
between 10/15/2014 and 2/5/2015 i mined just over 3 million doge,
using  a couple of gridseeds, two Furys and  two 750ti gpu's (those are still mining today)
on that scammiest of scam ponzi site,Cointellect!
Those scammers were fire hosing me over 27,000 Dogecoin a day ( i had 4 accounts) for over 3 months,
which i promptly dumped at then going rate of around 60 to 70 sat .(mighta been as high as 80)
and heres the irony, i never bought a contract. i did the math and i figured
my payouts were like 40 times what they shoulda been for the hashrate i pointed there.
looking back at it now i cant believe how i made out like a bandit. i scammed the scammers!
those were the days!

Not allowing anyone to help out in terms of code or whatsoever, while keeping people (read: community) at a far distance.

That may be a misperception. georgem and I had a difference in opinion over nomenclature and he was quite explicit that his perspective entertained multiple contributors:

Quote
We will see which dev pushes spreadcoin forward the most, and that guy will get to decide the name.

A segregated approach is a natural outcome of such a perspective and shouldn't necessarily be considered as deliberately exclusionary, merely competitive.

Cheers

Graham

If I'm understanding your post correctly, you're suggesting that Georgem operates under the assumption that other devs would want to work on this project and compete with it. His resulting behavior as a developer is thus guided by a strategic effort to box competition out and hold his cards close to his chest?

I would find this hard to believe. Especially because there have been a plethora of opportunities to further this project in ways that would make it more competitive. The protocol of long silences, ignoring many community concerns, and self-imposing seemingly impossible deadlines actually makes the coin more vulnerable to failure (other people taking idea and running with it or some other variation).

Essentially, the inference that Georgem is acting strategically from his segregated approach to development seems entirely incompatible with other behaviors he has exhibited. Not to mention he has never explicitly explained his reasoning for keeping things so obfuscated.

It's probably a lot simpler than all that.

This is his hobby.

Something to do when he is not busy doing something he thinks is more important or he thinks has potential to make more money.

We all attribute far more value to being here than Georgem.

occams razor and all that...
i do believe you nailed it my friend, IMO

hey what are the big exchanges these days? i've been primarily watching bitstamp ever since the gox collapse.

Okcoin and Huobi, really. Bitfinex lost a lot of market share after the hack, so there really isn't a dominant USD exchange anymore imo. So it's between finex, stamp, and gdax for usd.

For futures, Okcoin. Bitmex is gaining some popularity. I don't actively watch it right now, but I feel like I will in the future. Need a few more monitors first. And one of those mount thingies to put them above my other monitors lmao.

edits because i'm a drunk asshole

welcome to the club my friend!
nothing like a bit of self-deprecation to introduce oneself eh?
(ive been known to be a drunk asshole too!) Wink
