4581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Holders have an opportunity to earn interest due to cred partnership on: August 23, 2020, 11:46:18 AM
I thought Roger Ver call Bitcoin (BTC) as Bitcoin core? And now he is using the name of bitcoin to promote this so called to catch more newbies and fall for his trap again? Nah, when you hear Roger Ver + Bitcoin in one sentence? Doesn't make sense and it you can smell scam from afar.

Bitcoin.com=Bitcoin Cash (BCH), he is another pretender and promoting it as if it is the real Bitcoin. I wouldn't trust even a single sat.
4582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin, ethereum etc. cryptocurrency or digital asset? on: August 22, 2020, 10:30:44 PM
Do you mean crypto that has bitcoin name attached to it? Like the obvious fork coins BCH, BSV or BTG? Crypto enthusiast knows that they are fork coins so nothing much has change. As for the effect on bitcoin? the same approach, we know who is the true bitcoin so tit for tat.

And regardless of all the semantics, digital asset, digital gold etc or e-currency, it wouldn't have that much effect though, we can call all the names and change it, but still the fundamental are still there, use them as form of money.
4583  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More and more moved Bitcoins from "Bitfinex Hack 2016" to unknown wallet-adress on: August 22, 2020, 10:08:23 PM
Recently there was a report about Ukraine arrests gang who ran 20 crypto-exchanges and laundered money for ransomware gangs. And as this came out recently, I think this is one way in which those criminals are cashing it out, through this flight by night exchanges that most of us are not familiar but only the criminals.

And the Bitfinex hacks bitcoin is still on the move, I saw one report about a couple of days ago. So I guess they are desperate right now to get their hands on this money and will do everything to cash them without leaving any digital footprints.
4584  Other / Archival / Re: The Ultimate Online Slots Guide on: August 22, 2020, 01:52:42 PM

Recently I came across a guide on slots. This guide explains how they work, the different types of online slots games, online slo
You can read this article here: https://blog.bc.game/ultimate-online-slots-guide/

This was quite interesting to read. Thanks for the post. The only real problem with slots that I have is that there are so many different games out there. The minimum bet is almost the same across all of them with only 2-3 variants. As I only play a little slots I tend to go back to the ones I used money in, which of course is no guarantee for future winnings. I have so much more experience playing dice than slots that most of the time I keep playing dice and not try something new.
Did anyone here ever ein really big with slots and was able to hold on to their winnings over time?

Played slots many times but I'm unlucky to win online, but I have successes in traditional casinos.

As far as near miss or near hit, one of the most heart breaking experience if you are really a slot player, Lol. I mean you think that you are going to hit bonus, unfortunately the last reel didn't cooperate. Happen to me many times, but there were couple of occasion wherein I was down to my last spin and then I thought finally it was not a near miss this time as I hit the bonus round. However, at the end I lost everything. Anyhow, yes it is very frustrating but I guess you need to keep going on and hopefully hit the bonus.
4585  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Dips to $11.6K, ETH Options Predict Price Below $400 by End of Year on: August 22, 2020, 01:24:49 PM
Just another price correction, so there's nothing to worry about. $12k is really a big barrier right now that once it is breached, seems like an automatic selling off, triggering another downturn. However, the end of the year is still that far and anything can happen. We can still hit around $15k and then look for a new all time high in 2021-2022. No need to worry, we are still in the bullish phase and it's just starting.
4586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Los Alamos National Laboratory is building an anti crypto mining AI on: August 22, 2020, 12:53:09 PM
I bet intrusion detection systems nowadays aren't as effective  as they are perceived to be, hence the development of an AI to combat any form of crypto mining.

It's because hackers are also making advance and it seems that vendors are really late in reacting to it that even supercomputers are being targeted by this criminals to mine crypto without our prior knowledge.

Well this is a good news but I think the AI's capability would be limited only in scope to supercomputers and it would be ideal if it could also be developed to be used on other systems like pc's and servers since they are most often targeted by these kinds of malwares, maybe its because they can be easily penetrated as compared  to the more secure supercomputer systems.

Based on the article, it seems that's where they want to deploy this so called anti-crypto mining AI.

Despite on this development, I think it still pays to have a good and knowledgeable systems administrator / security professionals to oversee and safeguard computer systems to any kind of such malware attacks. Imho.

It's really a game changer, so sys ads need to update their knowledge as well. And that's why I saw a lot of cyber administrators are in demand right now because of this kind of breach and intrusions.
4587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee Has Left His Own Privacy Asset Project on: August 21, 2020, 01:44:40 PM
I hope he will realize that he is done in crypto, it's not his ground anymore that he can choose to play and expect to win no matter how he plays it. People have open their eyes, people might have forgiven him but they will not forget him, expect that this guy will continue to mess his reputation, and a new project coming from him might be introduce again soon.

Personality like that won't stop, they wanted the limelight just like CSW and don't think that they are done because just he left his own privacy asset project. I wouldn't be surprise if in the coming months he will come out with another project similar to this and claim that it is better than his previous project, Lol.

I don't think that he has some reputation to protect though, and it doesn't mean a thing to him, ruin or not. He will still go on his twitter making exorbitant claims and will command huge amount of money to shill for any projects that is willing to pay him.
4588  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Twitter on: August 21, 2020, 01:19:49 PM
Yes, everyone is shilling their bag full of shit coins and then dump it once the price goes off because of some newbies believing every word spewing, Lol. Anyhow, I just love to see read them and sometimes it gives me a good chuckle as I will say that I'm been in the game and seen almost every shilling so I'm not affected by it.

But for newbies, damn, they can easily fall and then don't understand what happen when the supposedly shill token goes down hard. These people are worst than scammers, make believers and giving noobs false hope.
4589  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Whyte vs Povetkin on: August 21, 2020, 01:00:00 PM
Odds on Sportsbet:

Whyte by decision : 2.60

Isn't it interesting?  Grin

Yeah, interesting but still not attractive for me. I'd rather go for under 10.5 with lower odds than to bet for this match to go the distance. Both fighters have the power to knock each other down even given the fact that Sasha is now in his 40. However, and this has to be a big consideration, both fighters had their last winning KO in 2018.

Thanks for your input bro, really appreciate it. However, i think that Sasha is too old for now to deliver a knock-out and he may gassed out in the later rounds so i'm thinking that this could be a one-sided affair and have Whyte winning by Decision. Povetkin would be very careful here in the early rounds to avoid that Whyte left hook. I'm betting here that Povetkin will survive and went to the distance hope i'm right with my prediction.

For those who want to watch this fight, take a look at this link. I am not sure that they will have a live streaming on this Whyte vs Povetkin fight but it's worth a look.

http://nbastreams.xyz/schedules/

If Sasha will gas out then there's a big possibility for Whyte to score a knock-out?

And as others have said, Whyte is very powerful and that left hook could be the knock out punch here. Yes, it could be a one sided fight and could really end in knock out and not needing the judges score card. Unless Dillian become sloppy and confident and make that one mistake that can ruin him in the mid rounds.
4590  Economy / Speculation / Re: This time when the stock market crashes, Bitcoin will go to moon! on: August 21, 2020, 12:28:38 PM
This time people will sell their stocks and transfer money to bitcoin exchanges. Stock go down. Bitcoin goes up

And then the same people are going to sell off and move the funds to stocks again, vice-versa. And that's how smart investors or hedge funds managers do. Why not new money coming in not from stocks? New blood seeing that bitcoin is the only asset for now that can make their money grow in the next year or two?

We shouldn't look at stock people though, what we need is more investors to really fuel the next bubble. Or even average joe or people who are willing to hedge their wealth on BTC right now.
4591  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think Warren Buffett will change his mind about bitcoin? on: August 21, 2020, 12:06:58 PM
Would he change his mind? Nah, and I don't think he would (judging from his previous stand). But I'd be glad if he would.
"His pride is far more valuable to him"
This says a lot about him. Besides, maybe he's ideology with financial/investing stuff doesn't suit on how bitcoin works. Kinda bad for him for letting this thing slip though, but yeah... he's already rich, so it won't even matter, after all.

I really don't think that we need to push Warren to appreciate bitcoin though, he already made a lot of statement in the past against bitcoin so I doubt that he will change his mind. He doesn't invest on things that he is not sure of and as volatile as crypto, so not cup of tea of his.

But we will be fine though, there could be silent investors who are willing to take the risk on bitcoin unlike Warren and that's what is more important now. Instead of just one person show of his, better to hear 10 investors with millions being pour on the market. And I think others already know that an old and traditional fart such as Warren Buffett is hard to convince as he doesn't want to get out of his comfort zone.
4592  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine arrests gang who ran 20 crypto-exchanges and laundered money for ransomw on: August 21, 2020, 11:33:59 AM
I’m curious about what exchanges are involved in this type of dealings because it’s important to be far away from that exchange as possible.
It seems that everyone here is also curious about the exchange involved in this case. So far I havent had any exchange mentioned in the comment. I dont think that the 20 exchange are in the top 10-20 exchange. It is likely that all the exchange involved are their local exchange.

Yes, it could be local exchanges or just some third tier exchanges that no one used except those criminals to mix and hide their transactions. But as far as Binance helping, it's a bit scary, there seems to be a conflict of interest here. Did those exchanges uses Binance as well that's why they caught them?

And what if there exchange is being used as well by some group, for sure they are going to confiscate and we won't hear anything from them. They are really getting too powerful, in my opinion.
4593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you agree to insure your participation in the bounty company? on: August 20, 2020, 10:25:09 PM
It looks, of course, it's a little fantastic, but why not. Imagine for a second that let's say, purely hypothetically, Lloyd Corporation, which has vast experience in insuring unusual and unique risks, offers bounty hunters to ensure their participation in a bounty company, for example, such a project as Cartesi. You pay a fee, depending on the risk, and in return, you receive guarantees of payment of remuneration for the work done, even in the event of a bounty failure. It is interesting to hear your opinion, do you agree to such conditions? Something similar would apply to investors.

Lol, bounty hunters shouldn't pay a fee for a guarantee payment. The project itself should be the one who need to take care of it, that is if they are not scammers. However, for the legit ones, I don't think we need such kind of setup though.

And I would agree as what @Baofeng said, bounty managers should ask the project to escrow in advance the tokens or at least the payment scheme before accepting the job to ensure that we (managers and participants), are not going to waste time handling and promoting that project.
4594  Economy / Services / Re: Looking to HIRE! on: August 20, 2020, 01:07:41 PM
If I just may add, you should at least hire someone of a Full Member and up from this community. There are a lot of newbies that may apply if you post it in the Services section and you might get PM's from them. And then you will get disappointments because they didn't do the job for you properly. So better filter them out as early and hire somewhat of an established member already.
4595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is very excited at the moment. on: August 18, 2020, 10:26:23 AM
A lot of the traditional Financiers are now branding BITCOIN as the NEW GOLD for this ERA. Hey BTC even surpassed the price of gold now so this means that gold is not as finite in supply and rare as they said it was as even ELON Musk is looking at mining gold from asteroids lol. BTC on the other hand is finite in supply as the code is solid and hardcore and can never be tampered with. I have high hopes that according to the stock to flow model for BTC, we can easily go to 100k per BTC by 2021 end. How long will this new bull market last for we don;t know but it should run for a year we hope.

Bitcoin surpassed gold many times already as in terms of price, way back since 2017.

$100k is what many are predicting, specially in the S2F (stock-to-flow) model, if that prediction is correct, we might see it around 2021-2022. But we have to wait, yes we are in a bull run but this is just the beginning.

All indications are already pointing out that this bull run will be different, and we are probably going to hit ATH at the end of year, hopefully. And then 2021-2022 will be the full bull run that we all have been waiting for.
4596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone waiting for v2.0 but... on: August 17, 2020, 11:48:43 PM
Greetings to all,

So I found out that Ethereum v2.0 will be delayed, again.
In a recent podcast Vitalik said that technical implementation is bringing difficulties. He also added that in terms of use, some applications may fail and some of them may work flawlessly.

That is too bad if ETH 2.0 will be delayed again. We all know that there's a lot of hype recently pushing the price of ETH to almost $500, a big break out run for them.

Do you think that digging deeper into technical aspect the the team is facing unsolvable issues or at some point everything on the chain will work just fine, just as promised?

In my opinion they should not rush according to the pressure of the community but focus on the upcoming challenges and to delay it as much as needed.

Yeah, their testnet failed and there was a critical bug that was found. Imagine if they go live and then the system suddenly went down abruptly. There will be a lot of negativity again. So it's better to make the system 100% free of bugs before releasing it to the public.

But for sure another postponement will have an impact on the price. But that's another perfect opportunity to accumulate again. Win-win situation.
4597  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Germany the NEW World’s Crypto Superpower on: August 17, 2020, 11:01:51 PM
As I have said in the previous thread, Germany has been in the forefront of crypto in EU for many years now.

PayPal for Crypto: Up to 25,000 Online Stores in Germany May Accept Digital Money in 2019.

But the definition of Crypto superpower is really vague at this point, we can argue that China is, because of their mining facility, although we heard so much news that there is a proposal to ban miners. And then we have Japan, who is the first country to make bitcoin as legal tender.

So let's see how this electronic securities (eWpG) will work for Germany, and as far as I know they just want to digitised securities here through blockchain technology and replacing those paper certification to digital security form. So I don't know how you can be a crypto superpower with that move.  Grin
4598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin casinos to surge in German market? on: August 17, 2020, 10:33:11 PM
After the German government banned Visa and Mastercard in casinos in June and PayPal stopped processing online casino transactions because of sanctions last year things are starting to look good for bitcoin casinos in Germany.

What do you think?

If Germany is a crypto-friendly country and there's a local crypto exchange for a fast deposit and payment, it could work. They might switch to crypto gambling.

Yes they are, as far as I can remember, it was 2017 that the government open it's door for crypto and there are a lot of online stores giving bitcoin as a payment option.

Crypto is a good option or replacement but without people who are interested on using it, it might not be an option for gamblers there.

Again, as I have mentioned, Germany has a liberal mindset in terms of crypto adoption,

https://news.bitcoin.com/banks-germany-crypto/.

So this is really very positive news specially online gamblers, of course there are regulations to follow. So there could be a breakthrough news, specially online poker games which was recently legalised.
4599  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: India Is Looking To Introduce A Law To Ban Bitcoin, Imprisonment Of Up To 5 Year on: August 17, 2020, 09:59:13 PM
Today's news, you will hear that bitcoin is now legal in India. The next day you will hear another storyline of bitcoin illegality in India. In this case, the final verdict passed by the Supreme Court stands and it can not be overruled by any group or organization. The India's government are confused, they don't know what they want. They should set their laws straight about bitcoin, so that her citizens will know the status of bitcoin whether legal or not
Cryptocurrency has never been legalized in India. After the recent decision of the Supreme Court of India in this country, the cryptocurrency was and remains absolutely unregulated, and even less legalized. There is a complete legal vacuum in India with regard to cryptocurrency. Therefore, we must expect what regulations will finally be adopted in India by legislators or at least by the government.

Never legalised so everyone is free to own, trade crypto. But the current government wanted to have a hard line stance against it. So regulations won't be effective it they issue a blanket ban. What would you regulate if there is none in the first place?

So the first thing the country do is define what crypto is, put a clear framework. But India legislators are too busy that most of the time we will hear contradictory news.
4600  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Viabtc Founder Reveals BCH Fork Idea Called Bitcoin Cat on: August 17, 2020, 01:22:07 PM
The fact that the proposed bitcoin cat will be a Fork of a very popular project as that of bitcoin fork will make a lot of people support and invest into it. Most people lately don't really understand the project they support. They only look at the popularity of the team behind the project not what the project does. It will not be surprising to see the bitcoin cat becoming a successful one.

What do you exactly mean? It's a going to be a fork coin again, so I don't know if people are going to support it, to be honest.

As I remember Viabtc was one of the largest proponent for bitcoincash fork. They along with bitmain supported Bitcoincash calling it better for miners. Craig Wright forked it after he found himself not to be the prime person for the new coins. The desire for viabtc could be reasoned to the same.
Forking an open source coin is a good thing for diversification and parallel development but forking just to make you and your idea the only valid one would promote more forks than on actual development.

Yeah, I agree, just because you don't understand with the original concept, you would make a coin out of it, oh well, that is decentralisation.

it seems like a very simple formula to make some money quickly.
- make a name for yourself in the cryptocurrency scene (eg. ViaBtc, McAfee, Ver, Bitmain,...)
- either copy bitcoin and create a shitcoin to dump on idiots or start an ICO, IEO, STO, DEFI, XYZ,...
- dump that shit on whoever is idiot enough to buy it
- count the money you made...

Exacty, easy peasy.
