461  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Rasberry PI Minepeon(How many days mining uninterrupted) on: July 12, 2013, 06:37:19 PM
My Raspberry Pi (256 MBytes) with MinePeon 0.2.1 is very stable. But 2 days ago, when it launched again cgminer after the donation period, it could not access the 2 USB Block Erupters. They stayed with the green leds lighted and I had to restart the RPI to get them mining again. Both USB Gizmos have heatsinks "glued" to the ASIC IC and forced air from 2 fans. They don't go higher than 38ºC, but the Hardware Errors stay @ 0.9%.
Excellent case for the Pi dude.
Thanks, Polyatomic. It's a special case, made by http://www.themagpi.com.

I have at my work, another RPI with the last version of MinePeon that included cgminer 2.11.4, that still mined with CPU's, mining at a montruous 150KH/s for more than 30 days.

467  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Raspberry Pi w/ 2 Block Erupters getting slow hashrate (~150 MH/s total) on: July 10, 2013, 08:29:33 PM
I decided I should move my 2 ASICMiner Block Erupters off my power hungry desktop, where they were getting the advertised 330 MH/s (each), so I followed these instructions from Adafruit to get cgminer running on a RaspberryPi http://learn.adafruit.com/piminer-raspberry-pi-bitcoin-miner but my hashrate is now a horrible a ~150 MH/s

What's wrong? Does anyone else have a similar setup that's actually working properly?

Maybe a bad USB hub? I'm thinking about trying one of the Anker 10 ports, but it seems overkill for 2 Block Erupters.

Raspberry Pi too slow to keep up?

Just needs some tweaking?

Thanks.
I also think the problem is with the HUB and/or power supply of the HUB. There are reports of 10 USB Block Erupters controlled by a RPI, working with no problems. There are also reports of problems with USB 3.0  HUB's.

I'm using a RPI 256 MBytes, with MinePeon, hashing @ 336 MH/s each, for 1 month, with no problems. I'm using a 7 ports HUB 2.0 bought @ China, but with a power supply with 5V/3Amp. The original power supply included with the HUB was only 1Amp.

468  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Raspberry Pi Mt.Gox Ticker on: July 10, 2013, 06:34:25 PM
Dude I want one so bad! How much? Just take my money!
~1.7 BTC including parts, labor, and shipping. PM me and we can work out the specifics.
Wow. Expensive =/ Really tempting though.
Ha ha. Didn't have enough coins in the fist full of crypto currency?
I assumed you wanted all the bells and whistles, and they were out of stock of the 16x2 screen so I had to upgrade. Just found other distributor at the regular price. Would 1 BTC make you happy?

What's included for 1 BTC?
Pi, Screen, SD Card, Wifi Dongle. Shipping and assembly included. A standard micro-usb phone charger will power it. Since the USD conversion has gone down its going to be a bit more.
Very interested...

476  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bit-Card.de launched - Bitcoin top-up cards & physical wallets on: July 08, 2013, 11:46:04 AM
I already bought a Bit-Card (1mBTC) and a Wallet-Card. Hope to receive those soon.

Now I would love a offline electronic wallet-card, with LCD, like the Trezor, but with same "credit card" format as your cards.

UPDATE: I already received both cards! They are lovely! Many thanks,Matti.

480  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon on: July 08, 2013, 06:32:20 AM
I'm waiting for my Pi, but I was looking at getting this screen for around $30 :

http://coldtearselectronics.wikispaces.com/USB+LCD+-+LCD+System+info

Then writing a python script that pulls the hash rate, accepts, rejects, etc from the cgminer api, then write it to the screen, kind of like this setup :

http://www.gregledet.net/?p=668

Now I have to get one, everyone else is and I don't want to be left out!

Neil
Eheheh... You have to buy one and include the feature of enabling/using that LCD with MinePeon...  Grin
