Please read the post bellow this for news and updates about the chips buy and the full miner assembly service.

Hi all

I believe other group buy organized in Europe using escrow is now closed; therefore, I am now promoting this which has just recently gotten the Escrow contract from JohnK. I believe some people would feel better doing the buy by Escrow and with a verified organizer.

This group buy is also published in the Spanish forum where we have already collected pledges for over 15% of the chips and therefore why the Escrow has just started.

Quick summary of the main advantages and conditions of this Group Buy:
1. Low overall chip price of 0.082BTC each.
Low overall chip price and early birds discounts:
   - First 1500 chips = 0.080 /chip
   - Following 2500 chips = 0.081 /chip
   - Remaning 6000 chips = 0.082 /chip
2. This Group Buy uses the Escrow service from JohnK. He will collect the payments, confirm them and buy the ASIC chips from AVALON.
3. My identity and address (same as AVALON ASIC chips delivery) are verified by JohnK. For obvious reasons neither my identity or address will be made public but JohnK has verified them i.e. IDs and utility bills, and will hold this information in case a dispute may arise.
4. I live in Switzerland which means lower Import Tax fees of only 8% i.e. in case chips are stopped by customs and these fees are claimed.
5. Low group buy fees of just bellow 3% to cover the responsibility of organising it. This fee will be released by JohnK once the group buy has completed i.e. all chips delivered to final destination. I will buy my chips from my own pocket.
6. Once received the chips, all the ones going to Europe will be delivered from Austria y/o Germany in order to avoid paying more import taxes on destination.
7. Chips going to miner assembler will be directly deliver to them if required by the buyer.
8. Low flat fee of 10.00USD to cover chips packaging and other shipment costs. Orders going to same destination i.e. buyer or miner assembler will be consolidated in a single shipment to save on this fee.
9. Minimum chips per order is 10. There could be then increments of 1 chip.
10. I will myself organize PCB, components and assembly using bkkcoins boards. I will publish information about this as soon as there is a final design. Will probably start a group buy as the prices for components and assembly go down according to quantities. Please note, that this will not be DIY but rather done buy a recognized European company. 2. Pricing
2.1. 10000 chips from AVALON totals 782.1BTC including delivery, 2% JohnK's Escrow fee and ~3% (just bellow) Group buy fee = 0.082BTC / chip.
Early birds discounts will apply as follows:
   - First 1500 chips = 0.080 /chip
   - Following 2500 chips = 0.081 /chip
   - Remaning 6000 chips = 0.082 /chip

The BTC blobkchain is ver clear and can help us identify the order in which the payments were received. This thread will be constly updated with the received orders (see next post) and we will let buyers know when the slots for 0.080BTC /chips and 0.081BTC /chips have filled. Buyers who paid for the chips using he wrong price i.e. paid chips at 0.080BTC after this slot was sold, will have to pay the corresponding difference.
   
2.2. If a fee is charged due to Import Tax and Customs then the receipt will be shown to the group buyers and divided equally by the 10000 chips. Each buyer will have to pay the corresponding part according to the number of chips owned. (*)
2.3. There will be a flat fee of 10.00 USD per shipment to cover shipping expenses like packaging costs, etc. There will be only one shipment per buyer or miner assembler i.e. all orders going to the same buyer/assembler will be consolidated in a single shipment. In case there are orders from multiple buyers going to the same miner assembler then this fee will be divided by the number of buyers. (*)
2.4. Buyers will be responsible to pay the costs of shipping their orders. Shipments will be done from Germany, Austria or Switzerland (whatever is more convenient in terms of costs). It will be possible to ship the chips to the miner assembler assigned by the chips' buyer. Shipping costs (proof will be shown) will be notified to the buyers. (*)
(*) Fees will have to be paid before the chips are shipped to their final destination. Fees will be paid in BTC at the exchange rate of MtGOX during the day the payment is required.
Note: To make it fair for all group buyers, the Group Buy fee will be released buy JohnK only when the group buy has been completed i.e. all chips shipped to final destination. I will buy my chips from my own pocket.

3. Refunds
All orders are binding after funds have been used to pay for a batch of chips. Before chips are paid for, a full refund can be provided. If the group buy does not go ahead for any reason a full refund will be provided. There will be a 0.5% refund fee to cover BTC network fees.

4. Reservation
For the interested forum members whose pledge helped create the Escrow (they will be clearly identified), the chips will be reserved for one week. If after one week a full payment is not received, then the reservations will be dropped. Otherwise, no reservation of chips will be accepted.

5. Buying
5.1. Once the group buy for 10000 chips is completed i.e. all BTC is collected, the chips will be immediately ordered by JohnK.

5.2. How to pay

5.3. Ordering the chips:
   select your number of chips N in steps of 1. Minimum order is 10 chips and there is no maximum order
   send the total amount (Total BTC = N * 0.082) to the given address (see 5.2.)
   post or PM (if you want to stay anonymous) your order in the following format:

5.4. BTC Payment Address and Forum Nikname Verification
When the time to deliver the chips to the buyers is closer, all the buyers will have to send me a signed message using the BTC address employed to pay for the chips in this group buy. The message must content the buyer's forum nickname, the address where the chips will have to be shipped, the name of the recipient and the type of shipment service required (proof of all payments mentioned in 7 will also be required).

Therefore, only send payments from an address you own and can sign a message with. If, for instance, you send from MtGox or other exchanges, you risk loosing your funds since you can't prove you actually sent them.
If you bought chips pay attention that your address is in the list that shows the payments with the correct amount of chips. If something looks wrong you need to proof that you’re the owner of that address.

Why verify messages? In case another person claims that your payment is his payment you have to be able to prove that the BTC address you sent from is yours.
Make sure you copied the correct address before clicking on send. Compare first, last and some middle digits of the copied address to prevent errors.
If your wallet application does not let you select the sending address and sends from multiple, please post only one of them (and keep the address for a while)   
   
Nevertheless, in order to confirm that the buyer is actually the forum user who is claiming the chips, once you have send the corresponding BTC ammount, please send a singed message as follows:
a. Copy the sending address from which you sent with to the group buy. If you mean that the sending address doesn’t look like yours its probably a change address. 5.5. The buying window is opened now and doesn’t have an end as of now.

5.6. If there is more demand than the actual batch can hold, then the additional bitcoins move to the next batch, to order an additional 10000 chip, given they are still in stock. The coins moved to the next batch can be refunded if the buyer doesn’t want to wait for the next batch.

5.7. The group organizer will not be responsible for any damage or fault of the chips sufered during the shipment of the chips from AVALON; however, will do all the best to get AVALON to insurance the shipment or cover any loss that may arise due to this.

7. Shipment

Hi all,

I wanted to inform that from tomorrow Saturday 08 July, I will be off on family holidays for 10 days. I expect this buy to fill up by tomorrow, nevertheless, nekonos will be in charge of updating the order status and answering questions, etc.

I have just received excellent news from nekonos. As you all know nekonos is the forum user who will be responsible for the assembly of the miners in Spain.

During the last few days he has been studying the possibility of financing the full assembly of the miners and today he has just informed me that he will be indeed able to do this.

Therefore, we are happy to announce that, any user wishing to get the full miner assembled by nekonos, will be able to pay the 60EUR of the assembly service in full once the miner has been completed and before it is to be shipped to its final destination.

The Terms for the Miner Assembly buy now read as follows:

 

• It is important to mention that the k16 klondike design is currently in the prototyping phase; therefore, some specs or the final price of the Miner, specially the electronic components, could still vary.  Nevertheless, it is not expected that the design suffers mayor changes however it is important to point out that the mentioned price of 60EUR per Miner assembly could still vary depending on the changes that may suffer the current k16 klondike board.
• The AVALON Chips has to be paid immediately at the time of ordering. Payment for the Miner Assembly service will be requested once the miner has been assembled and before it can be shipped to its final destination. In the case of only miner assembly orders, the payment will be requested ASAP.  
• AVALON ASIC Chips has to be paid in BTC to JohnK’s Escrow account. Miners’ assembly will have to be paid in EUR into a bank account which will be provided to the buyer once the miners is ready to be shipped (we will next try to offer payment in BTC for the miner assembly service).
• The Price per Miner assembly is based in a minimum order of 200 units per group buy.
• The consignment time for the assembled miners will be of approximately 2 weeks after the chips are received.
• There will be no extra charges due to sending ASIC Chips bought in this Group Buy to the Barcelona assembly facility. Buyers will be responsible for paying the delivery fees to the final destination of the miners once they have been assembled. Deliveries of chips to other assemblers other than the service sold in this group buy will be charged as mentioned in the terms and conditions 2.3 and 2.4.

It is important to remember that we still support to send the AVALON ASIC chips to any assembler listed in this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=192860.0

Therefore, following feedback from several users via PM, it was decided to simplify the pricing of the chips and, from now on, buying Only Chips  i.e. to be sent to any other assembler rather than the service promoted in this group buy, will have the same pricing model as chips bought together with the miner assembly service offered in this thread in association with nekonos.


The following buys are now available (Amends 2.1 from Terms and Conditions):

1. Only AVALON ASIC Chips or AVALON ASIC Chips + Miner Assembly
       First  1500 chips = 0.080 c/chip
        Following  2500 chips = 0.081 c/chip
        Remaining 6000 chips = 0.082 c/chip

The difficulty is indeed expected to increase, but this will be the same for everyone.

From the time the chips are received I would expect to have miners ready in two to three weeks. There is already quite a few projects for creating the miners based on the bkkcoins PCB design. Nevertheless, I would also be interested to get something done here in Switzerland too (already in contact with a few siwss companies).

I think we are indeed offering some of the best prices for AVALON ASIC (group buy) and assembly services in the forum. Best for the ROI.

We were not actively promoting the buy because we wanted to add the miner assembly service. We took sometime as we wanted to be sure we find the best quality/price offer within Europe for the miner service.

Today we finally agreed on prices an quantities with the PCB manufacturing and assembly company and now we are going to try to promote this buy as much as possible.

At least for the first run we will need to keep it as a minimum buy of 200 Miners because of the setups fees of the PCB company, etc. Maybe after this we will be able to offer single miners prices but I think this is still early to say.

If you want to order the full service from us (chips + miner assembly) then we indeed need to wait for the chips to arrive in order to start assembly. The assembly should take about 2 weeks.

Everything will depend of how fast we manage to meet the group buy. The chips will be ordered before we reach the 10000 number.

Whether or not the k16 boards will work with less than the 16 chips will only depend on the final design that BkkCoins realize.
Nevertheless, in order to add the chips they need to be soldered to the board. Not easy plug/socket available due to the type of chips.

We are working on aluminium anodized heatsink, on wednesday we will have some samples. Then we will do test real with 2w for every chip.

The boards are stackable have 4 holes in the corners. For best air flow we recomend to put the boards in vertical position, like avalon ones.

Sorry for the nooby request, but If I want to buy a 16 chip assembled board ready to mine, how do I do this the easiest way possible for BTC?, when do you expect to be able to deliver (US) and how many BTC total?

Edit: Ok, I am an idiot. Just noticed the 1.8 BTC total per K16 board including chips. My question still stands reg. expected delivery time to the US.

Are we to understand that this means that you will mine for 2 weeks will all chips as a 'quality control'? Seems a little harsh to buyers. Once you have the design down, and have produced the boards you should be able to just build, quick QA the units and ship?
