Has anyone heard of a hack or attempted hack on Bitcoin

People attempt to hack bitcoin everyday. All have lost and will never win. I think i will say todate bitcoin is unhackable.

fake news. Many people in here have lost money due to hacking.
462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mempool has doubled in the last 8 hours on: November 22, 2017, 09:30:25 AM

You are not looking hard enough. Start using SegWit addresses and you will see a significant drop in the fees. We have reached consensus to use SegWit and now nobody wants to use it. The spammers are not focusing their sabotage on SegWit, because it is more expensive.

This will hopefully be a thing of the past, once the Lightning Network come into play. ^smile^

Lets let the numbers do the talking. Do the fees really drop? There has been instances where SEGWIT transactions have cost more

It is all a scam by the miners who know that now there are many small investors out there who have no choice but to accept their abuse of monopoly power

Hi, do you know, they will go out on ICO?

Also keep in mind that the Chinese oligarchs will want to control it for themselves
465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mempool has doubled in the last 8 hours on: November 22, 2017, 09:18:15 AM
In just 8 hours this morning the mempool has doubled - seems we are agin heading towards the miners wanting to drastically increase prices.

Also we saw this pattern when there was the civil war with Bitcoin cash

When we saw the civil war with Bitcoin cash?

Yes

Hi, do you know, they will go out on ICO?

That will only be available for Chinese
467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / China to launch Wechat coin on: November 22, 2017, 08:49:19 AM
China's direction in this is clear.

Early in 2018 they will launch a blockchain based coin linked with wechat and allied with Alibaba. Because it will be instantly useable to more than a billion people for all daily shopping actitivites it will quickly spread beyond China and become the dominant coin.

Also, all the miners located in China will switch to the wechat coin, leaving the other coins with huge problems.
468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon has it. Tesla has it. Apple had it. on: November 22, 2017, 08:45:15 AM
Bitcoin is not the property of a single company or is it? If it was then that particular business would have the final say in its development.

That is exactly the point - and that is why it will fail because the more money that is involved, the less people involved can agree on its development

I completely disagree with this. We dont have to agree, but we have to respect each other. That is why bitcoin is special, its because it is decentralised. We dont have to have leaders for it to be successful. I will tell you why Bitcoin WILL fail. It will fail because though there is no leader but there is certainly dictatorship attitudes. When you do disagree, you are attacked. It is those toxic attitudes that will make bitcoin fail because there seems to be a silent agreement to never disagree. Thats the kind of attitude i find insane and will steer people away from the community.

You actually explain very well exactly why it is that when there is no strong leader, a business will fail. Bitcoin will fail because of it.
469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon has it. Tesla has it. Apple had it. on: November 22, 2017, 08:39:33 AM
Bitcoin does not need a leader, does not need a face. It is the idea behind it. If you need a face on a currency, you can invest in fiat.

No leader = a ship with no rudder. Eventually it will shipwreck.
470  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin bubble on: November 22, 2017, 08:34:02 AM
Firstly some people called bitcoin as a internet fraud, now they are saying it as a bubble.

Oh don't worry. It can be perfectly capable of being both at the same time

We need a period of calm see for at least 6 months.

you do realize that the seas will not be calmer going forward, but instead the waves are getting higher?
473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mempool has doubled in the last 8 hours on: November 22, 2017, 08:12:53 AM

... We have reached consensus to use SegWit and now nobody wants to use it.  ...

Do you know what consensus really is ?

I do not want SW as well Wink

And here we see exactly why the Bitcoin experiment was always doomed to fail. Once a lot of money gets involved too many people have different agendas and a consensus/democratic approach will always fail. There is a reason why successful companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, Tesla etc are not democracies but firmly run by a single individual who forces his vision upon the company.

there is open competition now - one single coin can fail

It is not competition. It is an internal civil war with people trying to promote whichever agenda they stand to profit the most from

Nobody gets killed - its hard competition.

It is not competition, it is destructive fragmentation which is at the core of Bitcoin
474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon has it. Tesla has it. Apple had it. on: November 22, 2017, 08:11:23 AM
gold has no one in charge.

Gold does not need to develop its underlying code
475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Amazon has it. Tesla has it. Apple had it. on: November 22, 2017, 08:07:42 AM
What they had was a strong guy in charge who could make absolutely sure the development of the company's idea followed the vision. They are highly successful becasue of it.

Bitcoin does not have it.

There is a large group of different people all with different ideas on how to carry out the vision, and no-one to ensure a consistent focus. Running a large-scale operation does not work using consensus. Instead it always leads to disagreement and a failure of the project. So it will be with Bitcoin where the recent civil wars with alt coins is only the beginning.

477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin supports communism on: November 22, 2017, 08:01:10 AM
I don't think this topic is appropriate. Bitcoin is not a redistribution of wealth, it is completely different from communism. In the early days, the miners mastered most of the wealth, and the risk of entering the market was high now, and communism was not.

What do you mean communism was not risky? millions were killed....

479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin supports communism on: November 22, 2017, 07:51:55 AM
Bitcoin wealth distribution is more uneven than it is in today fiat capitalism. Its also unfair, 80% of the natural resources (mined coins) have been taken by a handful of people, and half of the world doesn't even have internet access.

So Bitcoin oppresses the poor?
480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is an altcoin on: November 22, 2017, 07:50:28 AM

I think scottykarate=freightjoe
How can a newbie be so obsessed with another newbie to open a bash thread....
Just my 2 Sats
Not true. scottykarate is just a newbie shill trying desparately go get people to support his coming ICO for the trumpcoin
Just like you, you are a member worshiping BCH and throwing shades at Bitcoin without even using your head to argue here. Get out of here this is Bitcointalk Forum.
[/quote]

People should just get out of all coins irrespective of their names. However you are right to point out scottyboy who is promoting his ICO for trumpcoin.
