461  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 27, 2024, 06:08:35 AM
Luka Doncic!!! He really wanted to break the post Kobe scoring record held by Devon Booker and he pulled it off tonight. WOW. 73 points and a victory. Between Joel Embiid’s performance earlier in the week and now this you have to wonder if this signals a bit of a change in how defenses are defending stars. Will anyone ever break Wilt’s mark?

I remember last season, when Donovan Mitchell hits 60++ early on. And now this season, the mark is being pushed to 70 by Embiid and then Luka. Most likely, maybe next season we might see players going at 80, who knows.

We want to believed that 100 is not reachable by this time. But as the games evolves, it might be possible that someone is going to score 100 points with the way things are being played.
462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has Airdrop season begun? on: January 26, 2024, 09:11:06 PM
Nah, I don't think that airdrop season has begun, or at least airdrops are going to be worth in the future. Airdrop hype is over for many years now, specially it has been used as a instruments to scam investors as well.

Anyone still remember that "you have to deposit first before you can claim your airdrop" scam?

How about "give me your mnemonic phrase and then we will airdrop you some"?

As much as I want to think that airdrops are still worth it, but this is 2024 already, the hype is no longer here and most of the airdrops as worthless to say the least.
463  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bullrun top on: January 26, 2024, 08:34:18 PM
Hi all, long time investor   what's everyones opinion on this bullrun .?... IMO will see a market top q4 2024
Do you mean the bull run coming, as we've not returned to an immediate one now? Well, I expect a huge bull run this year, something similar to what we experienced a few months ago, but it will be double of that size as it will be the major one expected by everyone, so there will be FOMO everywhere at that time. This will happen after halving, the effect might not be immediate, but I suspect an immediate one this time due to the people's expectations that are more than before. Though it might start in weeks as people just want to be part of the world cake brought by Bitcoin, no one wants to miss out like the old times.

We will do well if we are still patient for now though, the market is not just encouraging now, and at the current high level of $40,000, I think that it is not so good to risk buying heavily now unless you want to DCA the coin. Nevertheless, be sure of Bitcoin hitting above $100,000 in the next bull run, and I suspect that it would have hit that level in the late months of this year or the early months of next year. I hope this meets a good view of yours as well, but be very careful and DYOR even as you engage the market carefully and managerially.

Yes this bullrun we are already in /started....

I don't know if we can call this a bull run already, as per definition though and as far as I can see, bull run starts right after the halving. So although we have seen the price going as high as $49k after the news of approval of Spot Bitcoin ETF, the price still makes a correction. So for me it's better to wait after the halving and see how the market will grow overtime.

It could be close to $100k for this year, but the top could happen in 2025 though. And we should get to it one step at a time. I mean we should peak at our previous ATH for this year, and then by next year bull run continues and it could be as high as $180k++.
464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the definition of a Gambler? Do you consider yourself as a Gambler? on: January 26, 2024, 08:16:12 PM
Personally, I don't like the word Gambler tbh. And it feels more worse when someone calls someone a Gambler in the local language. I played some hands it's true and I tested many games for test purposes But I was never affected by the gamble. and I consider I am not a gambler myself. Somehow I do not feel good or something does not fit with me by this word.

What do you think about yourself and how do you want to define the word Gambler?

For me it's the basic, you are a gambler if you frequently played on land base or online gambling platform, place a bet and then hope that win more money. Good for you if you are not a gambler and have controlled yourself not to fall for it.

But for the majority here, and I think there could be 2 categories here,

a. A individual who prior to joining, was not a gambler per se, but because of maybe the influence of some persons or even the community itself because we promoted gambling platform, at some point in time learn to play and gamble

b. A individual who prior to joining this community was already playing in land base casinos and then it was just magnified and played even more in crypto based casinos

c. in the case of OP, maybe he promoted gambling sites as sig participants and sig manager, but never fall for being a regular or hard core gambler
465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou - March 9 on: January 26, 2024, 01:14:06 PM
Just to give an update on the poll, many of us believe that Ngannou to win it should be knockout, and if the fight goes the distance Joshua could take the fight by decision, there's a big possibility that this scenario can happen, between the two Ngannou is the heavy hitter and the one that can take a punch, if Ngannou hit that chin it could be another Andy Ruiz scenario where Joshua loses his momentum and eventually lose by stoppage, and if the fight goes the distance there's a possibility that Joshua could win by the decision because he knows how to score points on crucial rounds, so Ngannou should take the early rounds and try to catch him and knock him out if the fight drags on Joshua can take the fight by decision.

Anthony Joshua by KO   - 2 (8.3%)
Anthony Joshua by decision   - 6 (25%)
Francis Ngannou by KO   - 14 (58.3%)
Francis Ngannou by decision   - 2 (8.3%)
Draw   - 0 (0%)
Total Voters: 24

Yes, that pretty much sums-up what the poll and what the comments are. Francis being a hard hitter, should take AJ early and try to score a knockout or knockdown. And AJ being a soft-chin, should practice on getting away from that power right of Ngannou and in return, he should used his boxing skills more. However, it could also be a battle of who has more stamina and gas tank as both are very big and carry a lot of muscle mass and it could be tiring to go for a 12 round fight.

But then, for bettors, seeing Francis Ngannou as a huge underdog, for sure they gonna love it as Francis shows that he can be a live dog here.
466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 26, 2024, 12:43:34 PM
Still, I like how Jonathan Kuminga is growing. Double digits in points for these past weeks and tonight was the highest with 31 points. He is becoming an offensive weapon of the Warriors and he is still learning. His body control mid-air is also getting better, I cannot even count how many and1's he made today. Then, he is using ball fakes at the right timing and he is now using it effectively against big men when he is under the paint.
Last night he was also awesome. 11/11 field goals. Yes, did not even miss a shot. The Warriors still have a chance if Coach Kerr could make some plays for him.

We need to see him getting more minutes with the team, he is not only beneficial on the offensive end but he is also a good defender and a rebounder. We have to admit that the Warriors now are different during the previous seasons when they are still dominating, but what I admire about them is they never give up and still remain competitive, Curry wasn't even asking for a trade when their team are struggling, they'll fix this problem and I'm optimistic with that.

Losing 1 point is not bad at all on a competitive game, and the Warriors shooting are very impressive.

Overall - FG percentage, 56%... 3 Pts 51%, and FT's 78%. They just had a rough night that's why they loss.

Yes, and there instance that there was a no call on Steph Curry and that fumble in the end, very uncanny of him but he was double team and time is running out. It was a very competitive game indeed. It's winnable, and playing against one of the best team in the West, and they have the numbers against the Kings, but I guess they don't want to lose another games to the Warriors.

And for the Warriors fans, I know it's tough to see them lose another close game, but I think this season, it's a different team and there could be movement of some pieces before the trade deadline.
467  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the bull run begun ? on: January 25, 2024, 08:15:11 PM
Even if the market goes down it won't end up going up again there are many trends that most people initially dismiss. However, if you realize their true potential and are proven right bitcoin investment can earn you a fortune. We can expect the next bull run as the number of new users of cryptocurrencies hit record highs every time during the bull run. In 2024, the value of Bitcoin will fall, halving.
It is very unlikely that the price will fall after the halving, miners make up a huge part of the industry and cutting production by half may no longer be profitable for many, but I highly doubt it, since no one will simply leave such a profitable niche. If this were so, then in the market Now there would be a lot of used equipment and the media would have written about it 10 times already, but this is not the case yet.

Halving though will not affect the miners, for them it's business, so they will surely have to adjust again and again, to make money during the bull run or after the halving. It is still based on investors, whether to put their money on the market, or sold to make profit, rinse and repeat.

As far as bull run goes, for sure we all know that technically, it should start right after the halving. It's that we have a good news about Bitcoin Spot ETF that put a lot of pressure on the market. But once it was approved, we can say that it did corrected again to $39k. So that is not a definition of a bull run. And so with that, we have to wait post halving to see a real bull run that we all have been expecting.
468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The topic of Bitcoin's Achievement is charming on: January 25, 2024, 07:55:33 PM
Looking at Bitcoin's past should be used to formulate news and analysis and not to predict the future, as Bitcoin will not rise by +5.575% again in the near term. Many things have changed since 2013, and Bitcoin has become more influential and well-known than the Silk Road. Dark activities have decreased, and its use in speculation and as a long-term investment has increased. Therefore, perhaps we will see stability starting in 2050, and then we will look to the past (2023) and say that Bitcoin has changed completely.

Well that was a sketchy reputation but now it's like a whole different ball game. People aren't just using it for shady stuffa as it's become a legit investment and a way to hedge against inflation. Bitcoin has leveled up, offering more than just a rebellious digital currency vibe. The changes it went through since that 2013 have been pretty impressive

And we can also add that Bitcoin could be of used to gamblers as well as we have seen a lot of crypto based casinos expanding, specially in the pandemic, when everyone says that bitcoin is going to die because we have been isolated at home. But boom, the market remains very positive that time as online casinos become the "norm" for gamblers, playing at home and Bitcoin became the top crypto for deposits.

So there's a lot of impressive things, and yeah things have change, but it's for the betterment of Bitcoin and for what's it worth in 2024 and then moving forward in the next decade or so.
469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tim Tszyu vs Keith Thurman WBO super welterweight Title March 31 on: January 25, 2024, 01:14:55 PM
So Thurman is going to 154 lbs now? It's good though, I mean as he age, he might have issues making 147 lbs. However, he will be given a nod to fight for the belt at his new weight class, lucky for him.

One thing that might go against him is the long layoff. He could experience what we call ring rust. But Tim Tszyu has been in this weight class for sometime now and supposedly be fighting Charlo for unification. I check the rankings, and Charlo holds the WBA and WBC (together with Brian Mendoza).

I think Tim might beat Thurman though, maybe Keith is about to hit his sunset in boxing for being so inactive and can't pull the trigger anymore.
470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 25, 2024, 12:12:41 PM
^^ What weaknesses do you think they saw though? I mean they are in the winning percentage almost on top of the East and we can say that he is doing good as he put the team in that position. We will understand, if they are below .500 and we can say that they need to fire their coach, they have a bad offense and the system is not working. But as fans or even non-fans of NBA or any other sports will likely be surprise if a coach is fired with a winning percentage in the middle of the season. So I don't know, Doc Rivers might be their coach that could bring them another ring, but we will have to see, if they indeed make the best decision or not.

I think Bucks players especially Giannis are not happy with his coaching, we may not see in the stats because the stats are great, but this article might shed some light on what really is happening inside.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/columnist/jeff-zillgitt/2024/01/23/adrian-griffin-fired-reasons-milwaukee-bucks/72328707007/
Quote
But more than any one game, Griffin, 49, wasn’t connecting with players and the team wasn’t making the necessary progress, prompting a change.
Quote
Antetokounmpo rarely has been satisfied with the Bucks’ play.

“Once you’re up 20, you’ve got to put them away. You’ve got to put them away,” he said after an Oct. 30 loss to Miami. “We weren’t able to do that tonight. Hopefully, we can learn from this.”
Quote
Following a Dec. 7 loss to Indiana in the In-Season Tournament semifinals, Antetokounmpo said, “The talent level we have is incredible. But we have to be more organized. I feel like sometimes we're not organized at all. We don't know what we try to get from our offense, or sometimes defensively we're not sprinting back.”

Maybe we can say that Giannis has something to do with it. But I guess in defense, Adrian said that they are still to experiment things around as this is a complete new team. Not defending the coach here, but if Giannis says that, then he could be instrumental of the removal of Griffin and then hiring Doc Rivers to say the least.

And obviously if we see teams that are not doing, the first person that is going his head roll is the coach. That happened to Rivers, when he was the head coach of the Sixers and they keep on choking on the playoff even with big lead. So I guess it's cyclical.
471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you blame someone for your gambling losses? on: January 25, 2024, 11:12:48 AM
Yes I agree with what you said. We are adults. We are responsible for our own decisions. Any input and suggestions from outside are only as information for us to make decisions. And when you have made a decision, everything is at your risk. Just like when a friend tempts you to gamble and you become addicted, that is your own responsibility and fault. Unless you are able to prove it like your friend is forcing you and threatening you to gamble.

Yes, but I think it's more of a psychological and emotional behavior in their part that's why they tend to blame someone, and can't take their losses. But there could be also others to take their responsible for their losses.

Or it could be something that we call self-preservation. I mean it could mean that individuals will likely protect themselves, not just in gambling, but anything in life and not attributed the bad decisions they made to themselves.
472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 24, 2024, 12:18:45 PM
There was another buzz when Alalshikh showed no interest in carrying YouTubers into the kingdom any longer. This is sad news for the fans of Jake Paul and other YouTubers who like to box.

I don't think boxing fans will also be happy seeing Paul getting his fight in the kingdom as this is just exhibition fights. And it's obvious that Alalshikh is a big fan of boxing, the way he shoulder everything and allowing big fights going into Saudi as they have a lot of money.

For Rolly Romero, he was just gifted with that belt, and so we can say that he could be one boxer that is very lucky to get a championship when he should have lost that fight. For Ryan, it seems that GBP wanted him to be tested against former champion Jose Ramirez. But not sure if Ryan is interested though and everyone is leaving as to who Ryan wanted to fight. And so this is another tug of war between him and Oscar and it might turn out ugly again.
The crowd and authorities in Saudi Arabia likely saw the distinction between boxers and YouTubers. They are happy with the professional boxing matches and they no longer need the YouTubers in the kingdom.

Rolly Romero was safeguarded by the ref to get the championship belt. I see no reason why Ryan Garcia and Oscar De La Hoya dumped Rolly Romero. Rolly Romero is a champion and is a simpler match than Jose Ramirez. Jose Ramirez even though I have not seen him in a while and is no longer a champion, this boxer is better and is above the level of Rolly Romero. This match is dangerous for Ryan Garcia, but I respect him for accepting to battle Jose Ramirez.

It only makes sense for Ryan Garcia to fight Rolly Romero for the belt, and it maybe will create a lot of noise and hype as Rolly is also a trash talker. But in terms of talent, I don't think that he has what it takes to beat Garcia.

All Garcia have to do is to avoid that power shot of Romero and then at the same time, try his left hook as Rolly is not known to have a good chin. But it seems that Oscar wants all in house money and that's why he wanted Jose Ramirez for Ryan Garcia, but the risk is very high here.
473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you preffer your dealer talkative or not? on: January 24, 2024, 10:12:54 AM
What do you think about this all? Do you like your dealer talkative or not?
And if you prefer the dealer being talkative, would you mind if they made up some story just to keep talking? Or would you prefer even that over silence?

I can't say though, there are dealers let's say in a baccarat table that talks a lot but it makes the game more entertaining as the players might be very happy to have a dealer like that. In best cases, I remember a dealer like subtle pointing as to what to bet, and you have to get that cues from him and bet and win big.

But there are cases that players wanted to focus more, maybe reading the pattern and such and so they want their dealers to not talk a lot so that they can concentrate on what they are going to bet next.
474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Transparent dices ? on: January 24, 2024, 09:13:08 AM
Good day or evening to all of you.
Some days ago I was reading about casinos, specifically brick and mortar ones, and I learnt that in most of those establishments people only use dices made with transparent resins or materials, so gamblers can be sure those are not rigged to favour some number over others. That made me think about how many times I have played with dices which are not transparent, but white/black.

If you were invited to a casino to play dices or if you visited a new casino in your town and realized they do not have transparent dices, would you feel like playing there and gamble your money anyways, or would you avoid it?

I believe it would be possible still to make rigged transparent dices, but it would be much more difficult without the proper substances and tools.
What do you think?

I this point, I don't think that anyone can rigged the dices, transparent or the old ones that we seen, the black and white. Technology is so much better now, that if the casino or even someone try to cheat by introducing their own dices, they will be caught right away.

So for me, doesn't matter, if I decided to play dices, I would do it without thinking that they could have been rigged or the designed is very different from what I used to. Everything still boils down to our luck, and who knows, maybe that day, playing at that brick and mortar casinos, will bring so much money in your end.
475  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New macOS backdoor stealing crypto wallets (Bitcoin Core and Exodus) on: January 24, 2024, 08:15:57 AM
I remember we have a discussions about this on your other thread, as how macOS is not that affected by the malware. But now it seems that at least variants of it are being found and threat actors are creating to attack macOS user.

And if this spread is thru pirated and crack softwares, as crypto users, we should avoid this kind of websites and not to think of downloading any fake softwares just to save money. We should think of our security, thus this is a practice that everyone should be avoiding.
476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do i handle my first gambling experience on: January 22, 2024, 09:14:54 PM
Hello senior citizens and my fellow newbies gambler's, now I gat a straight forward question for you all.
How do I prepare myself for my first gambling experience?

You don't have to prepare, my advise would just enjoy and have some fun with your first gambling experience. Just play money that you can afford to lose and you will be ok.

What are the things I should expect as a first time gambler?

Again, as I have said, enjoy, if you win good, if you lose then don't worry about it.

How do we react to my first gambling results be it winning or lose?
Thank you all for your helpful opinions.

Of course, winning is everything and you will be happy and elated to get your first win, whether big or small. But be careful though of thinking that you can you repeat winnings like every game that you will go moving forward. Maybe you got lucky today and maybe tomorrow you're not. So just slowly down and enjoy the money that you have won.
477  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: AMA: I Operate an Online Casino on: January 22, 2024, 10:42:40 AM
Yes, I remember you have the signature design competition and campaign as well.

1. How big is the budget to operate a full blown online casinos? Do you need to give the specifics, maybe some numbers will do. But if you don't feel comfortable answering it, that will be find.

2. How you hire support and technical staff?

3. How you go if there is a scam accusations against you and you think that the gambler is just trying to squeeze money from you?

4. As far as gamblers though, who do you think gamble the most, no need for specifics countries, but perhaps you can say if they are from Asia or Europe?
478  Economy / Speculation / Re: Signs you should know to take profit from your crypto investment on: January 20, 2024, 08:24:19 PM
I will say: "Reaching personal target goals".

This could be the best or one of the best reasons to sell and take profits, and specially if you are a beginner, you can used this strategy or goals at the start and then see how it goes for you. Or let's say your objective is to save like .1 BTC and then you are going to sell if it reaches $100K.

If by chances everything falls into pieces, then you can sell some or all of your Bitcoin and take profits and enjoy, rinse and repeat or make some tweaks.
479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 20, 2024, 10:49:44 AM
So far, I also going to put Crawford at the top and next is Inoue as he again unifies all the belts from his current division.

If Inoue goes up in weight and will become an undisputed champion again, then we can expect that he'll replace Crawford in the ranking. Inoue probably has more achievements as a champion but maybe Crawford is more deserving since he has fought more dangerous fighter than Inoue.

it's hard to make a debate on who is the number 1 or not because as a fan we are too bias, so let's just based the ranking on the publishers report and we can all agree with it. After this fight with Nery which I'm sure Inoue will be victorious, maybe moving up should be next, forget about other challengers lining up, Inoue has to chase making a history again.

It's really up to the fans to decide, we all have our own boxers who we wants to be the Boxer of the Year, so it's hard to go against the decision of the Ring magazine. Although I think this is not the first time that they made controversial fighters becoming their BOTY, or fighters not deserving.

But in this case, it depends on how they look, but according to them, Inoue beating the best super bantamweight and Inoue becoming the second boxer to become unified champion in two weight decision is good enough for them to declare him as their BOTY.
480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does it bother you when dealers change during play? on: January 20, 2024, 08:18:33 AM
I don't know but there are dealers that you are very comfortable with, maybe you strike a conversion with them, or you are familiar with that dealer that you don't want him/her to be change specially if you are in a winning streak and feeling good on that particular table.

And I do agree that gamblers are very superstitious, perhaps they think that the dealer is a luck or good luck charm.

Speaking of dealer though, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhXNj87TNiE

I card dealer in a casino in the Philippines colluding with players and stole almost 5 Million PHP from the casino itself. The dealer is giving those chips to the player even if the player in not putting a bet.
