hey guys seen a lot of nice rigs in this thread, some in crates some in open case frames. My question is what are you guys putting under the MOBO, are you guys just laying it on the plastic or metal?

either is bad...metal will short out mobo and plastic/cardboard can start on fire because if your running a mobo with 4 vid cards the mobo is supplying alot of juice unless you have powered raisers...i suggest using metal standoffs that are in your case...then nothing is touching the mobo and gets some air on the bottom Smiley but make sure you use all holes for the standoffs...2 or more vid cards weigh alot and don't want to sag your mobo
Is this what most ppl are using?

You think they were quietly buying up litecoin during its low before the announcment and sold during the pump?

AlphaC if you guys ever patch the coin in the future for I think you guys should make the block rewards from 5-25coins this would make it way more difficult to calculate profitability, and it still wouldn't inflate as fast as all the other alts with crazy 50 to 500 block rewards

Awsome! great work guys
468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] CryptoSwitcher - Automatically mine the best coin. on: June 22, 2013, 11:43:40 PM
Now that I have CryptoSwitcher running on Windows, I have it set up for altcoin mining with my Jalapeņos.  Altcoin mining with ASICs is a bit more limited as not many of them use the same sha256d proof-of-work as Bitcoin, but I have CryptoSwitcher set up to switch between Bitcoin and Freicoin.  Terracoin and PPCoin might also be worth setting up. I had my Jalapeņos aimed at Coinotron's FRC pool for an hour or so this morning for testing...kicked their hashrate up by 50% and found a block.  Grin
Jumping between coins, I found that you need to find a PPS pool, or mine solo. Just an FYI. For the lower hash diff CrapCoins out there, it isn't as important, but you won't be mining those with the Japs.

What happens if your not on a PPS pool when constantly switching between coins? do you not get paid for what you put in?

great news!

all sha-256 aside from BTC are doomed to fail...sorry
471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WDC vs DGC on: June 22, 2013, 10:43:09 PM
I would consider a VS pointless since the devs of both are actually working together.

Wink
I don't know why ppl insist on putting these to coins up against each other...

473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] WDC WorldCoin: Announcing upcoming patch and news on: June 22, 2013, 01:21:33 AM

474  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Motherboard that can handle 6 Video Cards... not H61Del AsRock on: June 21, 2013, 11:46:10 PM
The MSI Z77A-GD55 is supposed to handle 6 gpus without any problems.
The MSI Z77A-GD65 is confirmed by many to handle 7 gpus without any problems.

The MSI Z77A-G45 is confirmed by many to handle 6 GPUs if you do a presence pin short on slot number 5 which takes all of a few minutes.  Slot number 4 must be left empty as it becomes auto disabled.

Power efficient Ivy Bridge Celeron G1610's can be dropped in and had on amazon for $43 bucks.

I personally have the MSI Z77A-G45 with the presence pin short and it has been rocking away with 6 7970s 24/7. I'm using powered risers which I highly recommend as it takes the power load off of the motherboard.  My 6 GPUs without powered risers were drawing 250watts+ from the mobo.  Any next builds I do though will be with the GD65 and put 7 GPUs on Linux. Definitely worth the few extra bucks for the ability of adding the 7th gpu. Smiley

does the MSI Z77A-G45 still require pin short with sandy bridge processor?
475  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 5x7950 Gigabyte WF3 Rig using 1475 Watts!!! on: June 21, 2013, 11:28:56 PM
I'm pulling about 930W from the wall according to the Kill-A-Watt EZ with this setup:

Z77A-GD55, Celeron G1610 Ivy Bridge, (5) Sapphire 7950s under-volted to 0.968 and running stock clocks (925/1250) hashing @ 570Kh/s.
Are you running windows 8?

477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why only few people get involved into RealCoin(REC)? on: June 21, 2013, 10:19:29 AM
bro if you want ppl to mine your coin and your going to have 1 billion coins created you should have reduced the block reward to about 25 to prevent inflation...ohh and no premining helps alot
478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][DGC][FBD] Free Bank of Digitalcoin ~ Risk Averse DGC Investments on: June 21, 2013, 08:44:26 AM
For digital currency to be worthwhile and to gain adoption, it would need to provide a benefit. Profit is a universal benefit.

You'll have a better idea of the concept once you see it live. Smiley
Sounds great! I don't why ppl don't understand this concept. Some ppl are slower I guess...Basically all the DGC purchased will be backed by the initial investment. He wont spend it guys

480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] 6coin [6CN] Launch in 6 hours on: June 21, 2013, 01:37:02 AM
I compiled the daemon on Debian wheezy, started it up and it was trying to mine the genesis block. What. The. Fuck?
Because of this little gem in the code;

Code:
if (true && block.GetHash() != hashGenesisBlock)

Another amateur release, I need to start releasing coins again, this forum is becoming a joke Cheesy
Could your next release be a legit coin plz I would mine it if it meets these specifications...

Name: Micro Credits
Algo: Scrypt
Total Coins created: 500 million
Block reward: Random from 25-50coins, to prevent coinchoose calculation
Retarget Time: 700 blocks, prevents flash mining
