Hi, By drawing graphite line in R2 you just shorted the R1 to ground. (graphite has pretty low resistance) See datasheet here: http://www.aosmd.com/pdfs/datasheet/aoz1021ai.pdfThe AOZ1021A can provide huge amount of current up to 3A, and still maintain 0.8V Output. So by shorting R2 huge current flowes through R1 (1K on default). Most probably you fried R1 (because i doubt it could survive high current) and FeedBack input is open, thus frequency adjustment doesn't work. By measuring the resistance with you multimeter you again connected output of DC/DC converter to ground, and high current was forced into your multimeter. If it was cheap one, it may killed something in it, or maybe it was only a fuse:) Try to replace R1 and remove graphite magic:) Maybe this few cents for new resistor will save your Antminer. If it helps, don't forget to donate;) If R2 has some lines of graphite drawn in parallel, this is unlikely to totally 'short' it, but just to reduce its resistance. As Vo=0.8*(1+R1/R2) and if R2 is reduced, then Vo will increase. Ofcourse one should not connect an ohmmeter into a live circuit, but measuring the voltage should typically cause no harm, assuming that the voltmeter has sufficiently high input impedance to avoid loading the circuit under test. I have not tried this, but it reminds me of the 'pencil mod' on the Blue/Red Fury devices. Cheers

will the new 8board be compatible with old board and scolls? price?
I would speculate that they'll re-use the existing design to the extent practical, so it may be compatible, however if it's not compatible you can always connect it 'stand-alone' and just use a hub or PC ports for multiple USB connections. Cheers yeah true, cause i really need another two 8boards ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) There was a 8board on eBay the other day, looked like being sold by Barntech.... but it went for a fairly high price (good for him!). Ebay is probably the place to sell stuff, not to buy... I'm also looking for something to compensate for the difficulty rise. Cheers

somethign wrong with 21494, that should be .0037ish taking my shares for 4 hours 2x it, 2x361034 = 722068 + 31minute shares 50011+722068 = 772079. So my shares are Dead on for 21494. .0030x is wrong.
21494 2014-01-20 02:26:33 8:34:03 5527931702 771770 0.00304283 281411 25.08091000 97 confirmations left
21493 2014-01-19 17:52:30 4:01:39 2473015277 361034 0.00372097 281355 25.14927431 41 confirmations left
21490 2014-01-19 06:56:21 0:31:45 320520478 50011 0.00393909 281275 25.01053350 confirmed
Assuming that your miner was submitting at a steady rate, and the pool hashing rate was constant, your reward for 21494 should have been about 0.003420513 (25*771770/5527931702*98%), the reward of 0.00304283 is about 9% lower. I examined my reward for this block and it was also about 9% lower. It was quite a long block, and short term fluctuations in the pool and individual miners could be the cause. You could raise a ticket on this if it is of concern. BTW, I checked about 1400 history blocks, and found that my average reward was about 3% higher than the proportional value based on shares relatively to the total shares (with some fairly large fluctuations too). You need to consider Slush's unique exponential algorithm and variations at both your side and the overall pool hash rate. I am not inclined to raise the reward of this block as an issue. Cheers

There's something going on with the pool!!!
I'm getting more rejected shares than accepted right now and it's only on slush's pool that this is happening.
I'm wondering if everyone is experiencing this, and that is why we are getting such shit block times right now.
It all looks normal on my miners.

Yep I have the same problem the driver for the atmel is not working for me either on the boards.
I had another go, actually followed the instructions within the Atmel .inf file. First you need to uninstall+delete the WinUSB driver. Then re-plug your device, go to Device Manager, find the Eight or Thumb device that is missing the driver, select 'let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer', then select 'all devices' and click 'have disk'. Now browse or enter the path to the Atmel driver atm6124_cdc.inf which is provided in the drillbit f/w upgrade files. You'll get a warning message about an unsigned driver, click next and you are done. Now go to Device Manager and confirm that now there is a Com port for your Drillbit device and note the number. Run Bfgminer, enter your pool and user credentials, type M and '+' as per the prompt, then DRB:all, and voila, your drillbit device(s) are found and mining. You can now type 'M' again, select each device, change over-clocking by C(lock) and V(oltage). While this is some achievement, in fact the hashing performance that I get is significantly lower than in cgminer.... ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) Cheers

Couple questions....
1) Having trouble deciphering the new command line arguments to run the 8 boards with bfgminer, anyone know what they are/mean?
2) How do I get the latest firmware and correct drivers to run the new bfgminer? (on Win 7 64 bit .... I did look at the drillbit forums but they are not complete or I misunderstand a step or two in the process)
Thanks!
I'm also looking for a driver solution for the drillbit 8board for bfgminer 3.10 on Win7 64 bit. (thought I nailed it, with the Atmel driver used for f/w upgrades, but this sort of worked only for the Thumb, tried it today with the 8board and no joy... ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif)

If anyone wants to elaborate on the README FAQ covering un-Zadig'ing, I bet that would be well-appreciated by many. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) What is the Com driver used for the Drillbit devices? Standard USB CDC ACM. Luke-Jr, Thanks. I still cannot find this driver (specifically for Win7/64). I know how to remove the current Zadig installed one, but the only one that I can find for Drillbit is the Atmel driver used for firmware updates, which doesn't seem to work for me. Any clues would be appreciated. Thanks Managed to solve my driver issue - using the Atmel driver provided by Drillbit for firmware updates. Tried this so far on the Thumb. Removing the WinUSB driver has to be 'complete' (not just uninstal, but tick the box to remove the driver). Cheers Tried the same approach using the Atmel driver for the Drillbit Eight Board, but it failed to accept the driver (Win7/64) and subsequently bfgminer3.10 could not find it either. This was attempted on a separate PC with just the 8Board connected directly to one of the PC's USB ports. Any idea where to find the drivers for the Drillbit Eight board for Windows 7/64? (btw I'm running bfgminer 3.10 successfully on some BF/RF USB miners which used 3.9.0 previously)

If you need forum approval please PM me.
We get TON of spam requests and it's very difficult to tell who's real and who's not...
Erk: See lajz99 post about coping with spam. I'm sure that the 'real users' will eventually get through.

Nope still no joy.
anyone here on the Drillbit forums able to poke an admin I am still waiting for approval.
Regards Marc
Is Drillbit even alive? When was the last time Barntech posted here or on their forums? That's why most of the support questions are back in this thread. The Drillbit staff have abandoned the community it seems. Umm... they've been answering questions often on the Drillbit forums and they've just revamped their main website in prep for the new run of Bitfury and Avalon Boards/USB thumbs. That's far from abandoning the community. Except, as several have pointed out, you can't join those forums without an admin like Barntech around. Lajz99 has admin position on the DrillbitSystem forum http://drillbitsystem.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=h167no285ig024tq4tatigmh77&board=1.0

I had it revised down too. It was 'too good to be true' probably, and now it reflects my hash rate and is similar to adjacent blocks. While with extremely short blocks you might get luck if you have very fast miners and super fast internet connection and 'beat the big boys', it rarely happens. In the past usually Slush 'under pays' initially and later revises it up (following screams and cries from us poor hashers).... Cheers

Yeah but it's mostly community members that help out. Like erk asks: Where are barntech & co?
Maybe the heat wave has something to do with it? Heard something on the radio this morning about Australia having record high average temperature.
Last post I saw from Angus was two days ago... Barntech much longer... haven't seen much from the others. That doesn't mean they've abandoned the community though... As it is still 'school holidays' time in Australia many people are still on leave. Traffic actually moves on Sydney roads in January! The heatwave is not the issue, as it mostly spared Sydney (only 31C today). Give the Drillbit guys a break, as they are probably slowly ramping-up into the work year. Certainly the place for most drillbit technical and other issues is the drillbit system forum. Cheers

HELLO,
What is going on with the SERVER??? Has anyone asked the slush pool owner?
Don't forget the Slush pool is on a different time than those of us in the US so at 0400 Slush pool time I would assume the owner is asleep. But maybe not and we post on here so fast when see something funny happening and over time, usually not very long really, it corrects itself somehow. By the time we flood the thread with posts it usually starts getting fixed. So they don't need to jump to repair for every short series of concerned posts we make. Since I don't know how to set a backup mining site I'm stuck with what ever happens which is ok with me since everything does seem to get worked out on its own. This is nothing against the question posted above by the member but thought it a good idea to remind everyone who forgot about the time difference. We n00bs have to stop being n00bs someday but for me seems it's going to be a long time from now. So much happens I've never seen before. LOL. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) Setting up a 'backup pool' is simple. On the common mining software such as cgminer and bfgminer type [P]ool, then [A]dd, and enter the details of the pool. These settings can be saved ([S ]ettings, [W]rite config file. Saving the configuration remembers these settings so that they don't have to be manually reentered every time. Different pool switching strategies can be selected as well. The mining software monitors which of the pools on the list is 'alive'. Cheers

managed to reconnect all of my miners to Slush
|
|
|
2 out of 4 miners lost connection, later managed to reconnect 1 of those, but the 4th one with the highest performance just would not reconnect. This is why it is so important to setup a backup pool in your mining software, so it switches automatically to the next live pool and your mining resources are not completely wasted.

So far flashed the firmware with no problem and removed all other load from the hub (block erupted and fan) But sadly no different yet CGMiner next
Sadly no Joy with the new cgminer either. Trying to get registered on the Drillbit forums but admin approval seems to be taking days. Which OS are you using? can you try that Thumb on another PC? After trying my Thumb with different miner s/w (the new bfgminer 3.10) on another PC, when I returned it to the original 'mining pc' it had a much lower hashing rate than previously (abt 2.7 vs. 3.02 GH/sec before). This is at ext:270:1:950. Resetting cgminer (S - setting, C - restart cgminer) brought it back to previous performance. I suspect that there are some persistent parameter values that require more than 1 go to change. Good luck
