You're being uncharitable to yourself there. The money people trusted us with will enable us to build the internet of blockchains. That's a great thing you've supported. If everyone decided to wait until after the ITO in order to try get cheap BLOCK, there would be no BLOCK to purchase, because we wouldn't have made the minimum and the project would never have launched. So you've done a good and beneficial thing by buying. If you're prepared to hold until the tech comes out, you have no reason to suppose that your support of the Blocknet will be to your detriment. I think the point he is trying to make is the responsible thing to do would have been to run the ITO when you had something tangible or a portion of a solution to demo. At this point the only thing people are investing in is air and promised dreams of grandeur. |

i don't have a Crystal ball but I think it will depend on these factors:
a) how fast Evan and the dev team comes up with a security patch
b) If 'a' will require hard fork or not
c) In case 'b' is yes then if it will be successful hard fork or not
d) If these will not be additional security vulnerabilities
but i can't give you any specific number out of my ass
I'm about 50% done with the patch after working on it today. I'll probably have it completed tomorrow then we can start testing on testnet. I've figured out a way to do it without a hard-fork, so there's no risk to the patch at all. lol I bet you must dream code in your sleep - wake up and just type it all out without thinking.... awesome work mate - again this is how open sourcing makes things bulletproof in the long run! |

The dictatorship at XC with no communication to XC foundation on what's happening development wise is exactly why we left.The XC fanboys now make up a story that Antoun and I extorted XC funds.
We never received even one XC coin for our work and efforts on the foundation and the foundation is supposed to know what developments are happening,but instead,nothing was communicated to us.
Absolute alienation from the XC team and a great shame for the XC community.

I'm not 100% against the idea of subscriptions, i guess the foundation can do its bit and get some T&Cs together and limit the network's liability to the fee - you would have to agree to the T&Cs before you could use the service.
But, its moving away from the idea of cash and into the concept of banking.
The "subscription" could be paid to the miners. In that case, you're paying the mining fees, just all at once. That gets us pretty close to how it works currently. Solution 3: Pay per round of Darksend, in a separate transaction, paid directly to the miners as a fee. The masternodes would hold on to them and publish them later on. To double spend attack this, you would need to pay the miners more fees, so it's impossible to double spend against and it's timing attack resistant. Bingo - Happy with this solution! - all you had to do was step away from the keyboard for a bit  |

Fees for Darksend time seem less useful than fees for Darksend amounts. Depending on how many people are anonymising their DRK, 24hrs may or may not be enough, but if you could pay a fixed fee upfront to anonymise a fixed amount of DRK, that would be better IMO.
Solution 1: Fixed Fee Session ModelYou enter how many DRK you wish to anonymize and it calculates the fee and will give you access to the masternode network until your set amount of DRK has been anonymized to your requested number of rounds. After that you are locked out and need to pay the fee again to access the masternodes based on how many DRK you want to mix. This way its a guaranteed delivery of service. However I think it has a major drawback...There might be a way that the fixed fee could be tracked to your mixing input (as its fixed and needs to be tied with your input signature) and compromise your anonymity. Solution 2: Subscription ModelAs I see it the subscription model will just give you a "token" to say you can mix whatever you want for X period of time and not tie your inputs to that subscription hence upholding anonymity. Drawback here is if there isnt enough liquidity during the time period you have been granted, you risk not matching inputs and spending 0.1DRK for nothing. Although talking with Evan the liquidity will solve itself over time as more users mix. Not sure if ive been smoking too much but let me know if im way off  |

Me too. Why? So you pay 0.05DRK when you want to mix, then you mix how ever much you want. If your client goes over 24 hours, it'll spend another 0.05DRK to keep going. It eliminates the timing attacks and double spending attacks. people could still spam during that window and bloat the network for free, no? DOS attacks? We could have a masternode sign the transaction when publishing it. The distribution should be really even among the masternodes, so that would eliminate bloat. So if you own 1 masternode, you could publish 1 transaction every 2 days currently. So it requires 1000DRK to use this feature and you still can't use it very much. I think I misunderstood something here.. If someone pays a small amount to be able to darksend for 24hours, then it means those people could mega spam during 24 hours, regardless of the MNs, no? EDIT: or you meant people pay for the time the anonymization process? Then they actually darksend 10 days later for free if they want to? So if it's about anonymizing the funds, then yes people can't spam or DDOS Correct - people pay for the anonymization process for 24hrs, not darksend. They are essentially paying to access to the masternode network with their 0.1DRK for a period of 24hrs in which they need to provide the transaction 0.1DRK to gain access and the signature of the coins they need to mix to prove its theirs. |

The DRK dev himself said this week the transactions will take 15 seconds.
That's a test environment, nothing like the real environment.
15 seconds is less time than it takes to swipe a visa card and enter your pin and wait for confirmation... Show me any other crypto that has this capability implemented and working? No, the handful of small p2pools not on the latest are on their own. The overwhelming network is fine and humming along. P2pools count for less than 2% of the blocks found. Yep network looks nice and healthy Could do with another 1000 masternodes though! |
