Ok, here. For the linux guys. Just flash rom and run it, card won't consume more than 100w and will stay under 85degrees at all times. No more jumping around between DPM states. When running stock, speed on Ethereum will be around 30Mh (as you can see in my included image). Core clock is set to go to 1191Mh and memory will go to 2200. Rom: HereLarge image: HereFor the Windows guys, for now, same thing, only Windows 10 with signature check disabled and a modified atikmdag.sys file. Had no chance to do a decent energy test, will do this later. Greetings

yeah and you can tweak it to the unbelievable level of 80-90w for 30MH, just decrease the core and the power limit and increase the mem
no other card can match this result at the moment, i'm still laughing at those saying that 1070 was trash in etheruem...
Give me a few more days and i'll probably be able to do 30+Mh on my 480 at 100watt if not less. And that for almost half the price ;-)

Haven't had time to read all the replies.. sorry for that. For the linux guys. Rom is here: HereFor Windows 10 users, you can do this: i) Press Windows Key + X to open Power User Menu. Select Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu. ii) Once the Command Prompt open, enter bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS and press Enter. Then enter bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING ON and press Enter. iii) Close Command Prompt and restart your PC. If this fails for some reason, you can reboot with Signature checks disabled by rebooting into advanced options (Hold left shift key while hitting reboot button) and hit F7. You need to copy the modified atikmdag.sys file into your drivers folder as well (C:/Windows/System32/Drivers) File can be found here: HereRom has modified timings and higher limits. (Memory 2275, higher tdp limit...) I'll do an energy friendly rom later this week. For the Windows 7 users, i'll look into that this week. Greetings

Tested and it's working, ~15+Mh/s. What I do not understand the difference .? my 370 nitro gives 14.4Mh 1180 \ 1500 . I see no reason to pick bios . There you said it all.. 1180 core! Dunno if you noticed but my rom does around 15 at core 1080 (so -100 on your core).. Did you release a 2GB R7 370 BIOS yet? No, i haven't. I'll do one in the coming week.

There are mode 1 Setupīs only. I am really impressed if the modded bios run in Dualmode mode 0 for a few minutes stable. It stresses the GPU much more.
I second it - dual mining mode will be great! Here. Did a quick test run, stock clocks: Core 1220, mem 2000. Eth speed: close to 28Mh, Sia: around 400+Mh. Larger: Here

How does warranty handles this stuff?
It does not. Flash card with stock BIOS before sending for warranty and you will be ok. Have never needed to do that, but yup, if you have onboard vga, or another GPU, you can still easily flash your badly flashed or bricked card. (If it gets detected though :p)

How to overclock memory to 2275MHz? I tried and maximum was 2250MHz (via Asus GPU Tweak II)
He's modding the GPU ROM directly, which bypasses the limitations of software tweaking. Exactly..

To Topic Starter:
Are you going to release it? Price? Will it include step-by-step manual for installation?
I'm still figuring out a way to make it easy for everyone to bypass signature check. For the *nix users this isn't a problem. I'll let it run for at least 12hrs before i even think about releasing something. So far 4hrs, stable as a rock. Temps around 70 degrees, fan at 85% :-) Greetings

Well if this is true, then those are fantastic news, I am eager to find out power draw with this modded BIOS...
Anyway thanks for sharing.
Why wouldn't it be true? Is there any possabillity we might see this kind of custom roms for sapphire nitro 480 ?
Perhaps.. time will tell

VDDC Offset + Basic Custom timing ------------------Here's a nice update for those who have Reference cards. In the package included, i've put 4 roms with VDDC offset. 1. -50mV 2. -69mV 3. -81mV 4. -100mV You can of course adjust these however you want, if you want to have an even tighter undervolt you can search the rom for this --> " 8D 00 F8(-50) 00" and replace the F8 part with EE(-112) for example. These roms also have a custom timing included. It's a basic one but it will give you a very high increase for XMR. Greetings and have fun! Link: HereRelive 16.12 fix ------------------Atikmdag PatcherSo uhm, yeah, i managed to get my custom rom running on Windows 10 by bypassing that aweful signature check :p (Kudo's to Gupsterg and Lordkag for that) Decided to create a new thread because my other threads are becoming a serious mess.. Reason why using claymore's, couldn't directly get Genoil's to detect my card My apologies for that.. Results. First run (no mod): 24Mh+ : Core clock 1275, Mem Clock 2000 Larger image: HereSecond run (modded): 28Mh : Same clocks, so: 1275, 2000 Larger image: HereNext run (still modded): 30.5 - 31Mh : Lowered core to 1192 and raised memory to the (for now) max of 2250. Larger image: HereThen, for my final(for now) run: 31.5-32Mh : Raised core to 1220 and raised memory to 2275 Larger image: HereWill be doing more tests later, i'm sure i'll be able to go over 32Mh. Great thing about this, when i ran the first testrun with stock clocks, card was at around 60 degrees and no abnormal fan speed. Overall, awesome card Power usage tests will follow later when i'm done tweaking my rom to the sweet spot Greetings! Edit: Links: RX480-32MhOTBRX480-30MhOTB480LowEnergyOKRX480Mod.zip

Eliovp I tried your BIOS . But no luck. Video card does not start . Returned to the original BIOS. Maybe you can edit my BIOS ? Can I write you a PM ? (380x, Elpida)
I tried today also his BIOS, but seems he uploaded an unmodified BIOS. I get less MH than the original BIOS. Perhaps he uploaded the original BIOS by mistake. Nah, i uploaded a modified one. Trust me. Bios is modified in such a way that you need to set specific clocks or it won't make any difference. I can however do so that the speed changes on any clock you set. Read a few posts up. I'll quote it. I've tested Eliovp's rom on 380X (GV-R938XG1)
GPU shows 21.3 MH with an official rom With a new rom I've got 22.9 MH (Memory Clock 1650) Though the system is unstable and there were couple reboots and driver crashes.
I ended up with Memory Clock 1600 and 22.6 MH so I'm going to see GPU performance with these settings for a while.
So just set your core clock to 950 and your memory clock to 1600 To compare, set those clocks with the stock rom, run your miner. Flash your card and do it over. You'll see a significant increase. To everyone else. The positive thing (in my case) about sharing roms now and then, for free, is that i can do mods whenever i feel like You can send me pm's, i don't mind, i'll reply when i find some time, but it's impossible for me to modify each and every one of your roms. That doesn't mean that i don't want to though Just need some patience. Or... you could put one up for sale, as soon as i see that, i'll put one up for free Greetings!

Happy you guys like it You share awesome bios mods free of charge, just like Stilt in a scrypt era. What's not to like Eliovp, do you have a modded bios with 800core and 500mem clock working with low voltages?
Probably somewhere yeah :p Will look into it tomorrow.

Eliovp Hi! I whant flash your BIOS to my PowerColor 380x. I trying ATIWinFlash, but got error - SubsystemID Mismatch. Can you help me? Thanks !!!
Force it atiflash -f -p 0 romname.rom If you don't have a backup bios, and not absolutely sure you're willing to take the risk. Don't do it.

how do you do the flashing? the same way we did for the nanos? sorry for noob question. it isnt everyday we break warranties In exact same way as described in first post. I can push gpu up to 1150 MHz, card seems to enjoy it. Happy you guys like it

What software was used to edit the firmware for the R7 370 ?
Atombiosreader to get the exact location for the offsets, HxD and a calculator. Oh, and notepad as well. So there is nothing like VBE or HawaiiBiosEditor for these Pitcairn cards ? Yeah, used VBE to save my rom. Wouldn't work without ;-)

Hi @ailikun, I have sent you a pm Here: Tested on a 380Nitro LinkCompletely free. No bullshit clocks of 1750. just run at 1625, maybe max 1650 and core at 950. Ps. Flashing your card will void your warranty. So don't do it if you can't afford to brick your card. (not that it won't, but still..)

You kidding right? Memory 1750.. you do realize that 95% of the 380's aren't able to handle that clock for longer than 12hrs under full load? + asking people for money for copying some timings from one strap to another.. seriously... Edit: i'm almost sure that didn't even happen.. Just because i hate these kind of posts, i'll do one as well and share it for free. greetings

Yeah in linux you can run any type of bios, while in windows if you try to run those modified bios's it will just crash on startup.
jstefanop, how much in total from wall ?
Yeah i know, signature check :/
