This was groundbreaking technology for the time and in many ways began to shape what is today's cell phones and tablets. For those of you familiar with running a business, it takes a lifetime of experiences to get it right. For every successful business there was likely half a dozen failed ones, and the 'overnight success' that were 5-10 years in the making  . It sure is incredible watching a company whose rich history dates back to 1888 try to make a resurgence on blockchain. I think they're onto something with this idea, and investors seem to agree! This is a very interesting one. Kodak, being an industry outsider, taking on a large project as they recognize the value and potential in blockchain and how it can tie into their company. Companies such as these getting involved lends a little more credibility to our industry. This is an interesting twist. Take note that: “ the offering is being issued under SEC guidelines as a security token under Regulation 506 (c) as an exempt offering and will be open to properly accredited investors from the United States, Canada, the UK, and several other nations.” It means that the small investors will be left out. Reg. Malaysia’s Securities Watchdog Puts Brakes on ICOMalaysia’s statutory securities regulator and watchdog has issued a cease an immediate cease and desist to a startup’s initial coin offering (ICO). With a statement on Tuesday, the Securities Commission (SC) Malaysia ordered the CopyCash Foundation to “immediately cease and desist all its proposed activities including a purported plan to launch an Initial Coin Offering (ICO)”. CopyCash describes itself as a decentralized social travestying (trading and investing) blockchain platform on its website, enabling travestying in foreign exchange markets and cryptocurrencies. The directive came ahead of the intended launch of the startup’s ICO today. The ban follows a previous statement by the regulator on January 5 when the authority stated it “will be calling in key officers” from CopyCash to “inquire into its activities including the purported launch of CopyCashCoin (CCC).” The regulator also noted that it had seen an increase in ICOs “soliciting investments in cryptocurrencies from the public at large, including senior citizens.” After the inquiry, the SC wrote in its statement yesterday: “The [cease and desist] directive was issued by the SC following its inquiry after it found that there is a reasonable likelihood that disclosures in CopyCash Foundation’s white paper and representations to potential investors will contravene relevant requirements under securities laws.” The securities regulator’s swift action notably follows a public notice cautioning the publicover ICO-related investments, in September 2017. I don't know about a sharp increase, but a healthy gradual increase is usually more sustainable. It will also give more people a chance to participate. When I met Alan for the first time, way back in 2001, he was using this funny little “computer” (the DTR). It was like nothing I had ever seen before. I had hired a consulting company, way back in 2001, and Alan was the consultant they had sent out from Chicago. I hired him again, twice, once in 2002, and once in 2004. He was still using that funny little PC, hooked to a Cannon portable printer. I don’t know how many hundreds of thousands of copies he printed on that thing, but I know he printed thousands of copies off of it just for me. I will never forget the day I met Alan. I knew, before those three days he spent with me were up, that I HAD to get to know this man better. I could see the genuis in this man. I knew that together, we could, and would, change the world. That was the beginning of a beautiful relationship. Now, Alan is one of my dearest friends, my closest advisor, and mentor. We met Joe a few years later, and the rest is history, the greatest part of which has still not been written...........(in other words, the best is yet to come!!) Thank you, Kevin. We are blessed to have met. Set-back in life is not always a bad thing. Has our industry reached the point that it is unstoppable? As of this morning, the Market Cap has reached $831,156,591,714 with a 24h Vol. of $45,514,621,586 . That is quite astonishing, considering that Apple, the largest U.S. company has a market cap of $898.5 billion and the not so industry friendly bank, headed by Jamie Dimon, JP Morgan Chase has a market cap of $375.91 billion.
While nothing is truly unstoppable, I have to say we are close. An even better metric then the market cap is adoption of crypto in general. If you read the recent news about Bittrex and several other exchanges temporarily halting new user signups, you can see where this is going. I think it was Bittrex that was seeing 250,000 new accounts creations a day. Yes, 250k in each 24hr period. Three other exchanges have also paused new signups due to 75,000 to 80,000 new signups daily. That is the statistic that shows me we may have obtained critical mass. RJF, it certainly looks that way - at least in terms of people coming out of everywhere, not wanting to miss the boat. Just hope that they get onto the right boat. |

I was the only person in my high school in 1994-ish who could pull a keyboardless tablet PC out of my book bag. It felt like holding the future. I still remember the feel of the textured plastic case and the fun of pulling the sliding cover off to reverse it to protect the screen during transport. The keyboard was tiny and terrible, but I still kind of enjoyed it. I would probably still pull the DTR-1 out every now and then to play with today but the PS/2 keyboard port broke off the motherboard and the whole thing became pretty useless. Good memories though. According to a Reuters report, she said that the central bank does not recognize cryptocurrencies as currencies: “The Bank of Israel’s position is that they should be viewed as a financial asset.” Baudot-Trajtenberg addressed several cryptocurrency-related issues in her remarks, including public complaints about Israeli banks that have been reluctant to allow clients to use their accounts for Bitcoin purchases. She suggested that the central bank could offer no solutions for those customers, and that Israel’s government had no legal obligation to help digital currency investors. The Deputy Governor did confirm that the Bank of Israel is continuing to investigate cryptocurrency matters, though she noted that there were few global examples for the bank to study. To date, the world’s central banks have yet to even attempt to regulate the banking industry’s interactions with the digital currency space. According to Baudot-Trajtenberg, “There is a real difficulty in issuing sweeping guidelines to the system regarding the proper way to estimate, manage, and monitor the risks inherent in such activity. Speakers included U.S Treasury, Fidelity, Prudential, T. Rowe Price, Schwab, Vanguard, among others. She focused on two initiatives, one investor-centered and one fund related. The second part of her talk focused upon fund boards and how they can manage to return shareholder value while at the same time complying with complex regulation. I found a little trouble for myself trying to explain other people what DNote is. Actually it was hard part for me to understand your company targets and main goals, because it's kinda spread at many paths. Can you please clarify your key pros/targets in theses, so everyone can easily understand what is DNote, how and when it can be used?
I really think we need clear whitepaper or common cases shown down on website, making it easier for people to get involved in DNote.
I understand, especially if you are new to DNotes. We are uniquely different and have been positioning DNotes to solve multiple industry challenges we believe are essential in gaining mass acceptance of DNotes in global commerce one day. I would like to invest in Dnotes, but apparently there is no credible exchange markets for this coin.
Your Reddit page r/DNotes/ recommends poloniex/exchange#btc_note and allcoin/trade/NOTE_BTC
None of them exists!!
I found one or two unfamiliar exchange markets that are trading your coin, but they have a low trust rating and bad reputations (On mywot .com), furthermore their amount of supply (sell orders) is next to nothing!
Why this coin doesn't have a reliable market for supply?
Where can i invest in Dnotes with a sufficient supply and reasonable price(I would like to invest up to 3-3.5 million Dnotes)?
I can invest with either bitcoin or bank transfer.

"I'll do it slowly and carefully" - Good plan - you don't want to have too much bitcoin sitting on an exchange at one time. I do have a tiny bit of advice for anyone that is thinking of purchasing Dnotes. Register now at the exchanges where DNotes are sold, because some of the other exchanges are disabling new user registrations in order to upgrade for the influx of new cryptocurrency users. That will send the overflow to other exchanges, and should they get over-loaded, it would be a shame not to have an account at an exchange to buy DNotes when the time is right. Note: C-Cex is not processing DNotes withdrawals until after Jan 20th. Was their Christmas vacation just an upgrade in disguise?  Thanks, Chase. That is an excellent advice. I could not give away DNotes to some of my family and friends four years ago. Now some of them are struggling to figure out how to open an account at an exchange. It is insane. Two days ago, a ten year kid did a Google search and asked if I was the creator of Bitcoin. I had a good laugh and hope that Business Week wouldn't come knocking on my door. |
