Price is falling slightly drastically.

noone cares about the price at the moment.

speak for yourself!

Only reason you'd care/panic is if you dont have faith in the coin. In that case I'd sell and buy back at a higher price once everythings smooth and it stables out.

It stuck on some block number again!

Some masternodes are destroying whole network. There are so many block chains.

Code:
./darkcoind stop
mv darkcoind darkcoind_100806
wget http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/rc/darkcoind
chmod 700 darkcoind
./darkcoind -daemon -reindex

should actually get you going!

you can check darkcoind's cpu usage using "top". While it's reindexing it should be using >>90% cpu time

I'm doing it 5 times now.

I deleted whole files except fresh wallet.dat and redownloaded all.
It stuck at different blocks time to time.

I'm praying not to stuck this time.

This is not a small problem. It didn't happen before this hardfork.

Exact same thing happened to me, I had to do darkcoind stop then start it again (no reindex) over and over until it eventually downloaded the whole thing.

You guys watch, I've been paid twice now but I bet I don't get paid again for a day or two and you's will probably get paid 3 times in that period. It will all even out, hopefully.

F@ck off stop telling all the time that all are stupid.
Why are you embittered? You have a problem man.
Your reactions make me feal that you are stupid!
Stupid people have made my life very hard. Yes, I have it out for them. I truly and deeply hate stupid people. Welcome to the ignore list, stupid, angry, violent person.

If I could snbuff out all the stupid people with the press of a button, I would do my best to make that button turn them non-stupid. But failing that, snuffing them out would be my vengeance. Fortunately, the stupid make their own lives hard and I have escaped their prison. ...for now. But the stupid never stop attacking. They're always on the warpath.
Instead of getting mad leave it for someone who has more charm and patience to reply. English wasn't even the guys first language. Plenty of people around here who would see you as "stupid" yet I bet they don't find a reason to treat you like a cunt.
When people treat me like a cunt, I give it back 10x. I hate stupid people, they damage me. Do you like t when someone kicks you in the balls? Am I supposed to pretend it didn't happen?

Fuck you, too. This is why I shouldn't bother helping. Shitbags always gang up, and I can't shoot you all from here. Gawd I wish I could... Trash. I'm not casting anymore pearls before swine.

lol ok mate, enjoy your life

Come on the other main reason people are using Amazon is because its free for a year.

True, but honestly I don’t care about the cost. You give me an example of how to move to a server on Iceland or something and I will do it to support the network. If there isn’t an example I honestly don’t think I will give it a high priority since I am already collecting on Amazon, just to be really honest. I think I will bring it up on the community volunteers thread to see if something can be done, I really think it will catalyse people moving.

I agree with you. It really isn't much different but I guess no one wants to do something wrong and compromise their masternode.
More so what I would like is a list of secure VPS companies which would be good to use and what the minimum recommendations for the server are.

For any masternode owners who are unsure on how to update

is there an update for masternode users? 100806 is old now?
Or do we just redownload the blockchain?

edit- ok I see its there, thanks evan

bought drk when it was around a buck, checked out my wallet as I heard it hit $10 I have 141.1 drk, so should I sell and make $1400 or hold? Also if I wanted to sell how would I? Thanks

Its money you didn't know you had so I'd just leave it there and forget about it for another 6 months. I made a similar mistake with 900 btc back in the day.

Hi,
I'm a new convert to DRK but I've been involved with Bitcoin since last June and I helped co-found the largest Bitcoin public miners co-op last year called DyslexicZombei's Miners Cooperative.
I recently bought or mined half of the coins needed for a node but I need a trustworthy partner (or 2) for the rest.
My qualifications:
Network Engineer at an R&D lab
I also work in InfoSec
I have a high trust rating at Bitcoin Talk handling somewhere between 1,000-2000 of the community's BTC over the last year in ASIC miner orders to various mfgs.
Can provide the hardware, power, bandwidth, administration, and security for said Node
Redditor for over 2 years
like DRK for it's more efficient x-11 mining algo and its potential to help the disenfranchised and repressed.
If you're serious (and only for the serious) I'll share my LinkedIn info for you.
Cheers, DZ

Interesting thing this darkcoin. I bought some a week ago, and am very happy I did.  Cool

Thinking about setting up a masternode... but then again... I would NEVER DREAM OF putting a wallet on a server.

That just invites hackers to steal my DRK.

How do you guys guarantee the masternode holders are not just some noobs who have no idea about how to secure a server???

This is seriously dangerous...

I wonder when we'll hear about the first masternode losing all it's dark. (and possibly even some DRK of other people?)

Or am I missing something?

Other then that, I very much like DRK! And will continue to buy a few every day... :-)

Yes, you are missing something. The 1000DRK is just a collateral to ensure it is very expensive to attack the network. The coins have nothing to do with the Masternode roll of being randomly selected to mix a Darksend transaction. The masternodes play a role in the anonymity and they get pay for that service, the collateral coins are very unlikely to be stolen.

But wait a minute. My wallet has to be on a publicly accessible server with static ip. Visible to all.
My wallet must be on the same machine.

No wallet, no working masternode. Am I right?

So a hacker gets a free list of juicy static ips with each having a wallet of 1000 DRK, and we should just sleep tightly?

The best setup is to have 2 machines:

Machine A: Holds 1000DRK, runs as masternode. Use configuration option -masternodeaddr=machineB
Machine B: Holds 0DRK, runs as masternode.

There's no target.

Anyone setup like this on amazon (or other vps)?
Seems like a smart idea not broadcasting the 1000drk machines ip

I really hope the devs have a lot of coins so they dont have to worry about money and can work on this thing for the next 2 years full time as promised. Maybe you's should spend your time developing something of your own instead of being so outraged over crypto-capitalism.

Every other word in the BTC-e trollbox is 'dark'  Grin
@thelonecrouton Do you have an EC2? Did you use elastic ips in your masternodes? I am still having a problem where the nodes go to status 0 after a few hours and I am no longer in the local-remote setup. I suspect it may be because I am not using elastic ips, but I am not sure. Any ideas?
I have the same problem.
Edit: i have elastic IP on

Mine is up 95% of the time for 24 hours and I don't have elastic ip on

There is information that the developer will soon sell their coins will become a millionaire, all others would lose a lot of money

Evan isn't in this 100% to make money. He wasn't some broke money hungry programmer before he started on darkcoin.

For the good of the network, hopefully more node ops will get their act together.

How do you mean?
Also is it normal for your masternode to drop off that list randomly every now and then?

Its normal at the moment to have your masternode disappear from the list for 20 minutes then come back, right?
