There is a common error in github. I don't know how to fix it at that level, but it's also not a big deal. in /src/leveldb build_detect_platform needs to be executable. It will exit "make" with an error if not fixed.
So if y'all hit that error, do the following: cd /src/leveldb chmod +x build_detect_platform cd ../.. make
Then it will go.
EDIT: is there a new ANN yet and I missed it?
The new ANN (OP) thread hasn't been posted yet, just waiting for everyone to update & also updating it a little more. Thanks for the fix, sure cecilbdemented will be glad to have a helping hand on anything that could be fixed. Edit: The revision to the new ANN is a few post down/up, just an addition to a post for now & will start the new thread tomorrow.

I've launched a new wallet. It works great! Now we have the fastest blockchain! Thanks guys! I would suggest the developers to create a Development Fund and publish a wallet for donations. I'll donate 1000FIRE for the project development, as I promised. Thank you, here are both mine & cecilbdemented's addresses. We don't have an updated block explorer yet, but GrinZ has made contact about waiting for an update (seems to be still looking at tom14cat14's OP) & have pointed him toward the new (soon to be updated OP). Now if we can get Block Experts to update as well, that all depends on if the person who had FIRE added to Block Experts is also updating to the new wallet? If anyone wants to help contact them & request them to update the explorer to the new wallet. I have sent them a message via Twitter ( https://twitter.com/blockexplorer ), but it would help if anyone who updated also sends a request to update Testing Crypto (24/7 wallet): http://blockexperts.com/fire/address/FRWoUbAWBK7MBvTkHx4Nzb2pu1Ekq5BAyd(Backup wallet incase the chain slows down): http://blockexperts.com/fire/address/FSHck6X6WcosGT3no3pD1dMdzJ9RgJ9tvzFirst tx shows that I've been with FIRE since the start, trying to help & keep the FIRE going. Even after everyone abandon FIRE (twice), I'm still trying to help (not as a dev, but a community member willing to help) & just want to show trust to the community. Maybe then a very skilled Developer will see what I see FIRE could be in the very long term dedication to FIRE could achieve 2519 dbc15193dc5ed2b29f8bdc2b73a7ac79950bd2f1db1d9d1b92ea0010e9255b93 2014-06-30 01:14:04 + 7.42564190 cecilbdemented: http://blockexperts.com/fire/address/F8abZRvpugicpNGnwMqbA3CxjYtL6rdAB9Has also shown a lot of hard work on TECH, which I kindly ask him if he could help FIRE out & he is the one that should get any donations for the fix. I'm just learning & can only offer the coding of the ANN (OP) & working on another website + other social media sites for FIRE P.S. We don't have a Development Fund wallet, any donations will be in the new ANN thread (OP) upon creation though.

Man oh man, the new wallet is awesome. I downloaded and once synced, I unlocked and got a stake within 30 seconds. NICE!! Please keep up the good work!! What can I do to help? Thanks!!
Just keep your wallet open & staking, posting also shows there's community support. The more community support we see, the more updates we will work on & try our best to keep the FIRE community happy. The new ANN thread will be posted sometime this weekend (+ many other things), also hope to make a few updates to the wallet design & will wait a few weeks to see some community support (also need the block explorers updated, PM's have been sent). The wallet logo redesign will be just a simple flame, which is our way of a small update & still leaving an option for someone to offer a better one. Trying to keep the community happy & still leave room for anyone to help is the goal, thanks again for showing support for FIRE

C'mon everybody, the new wallet is online and we are staking and generating new blocks! Come get on the new fork!
There are now two PROTOCOL_VERSIONS = 60013 & PROTOCOL_VERSION = 70013 // earlier versions not supported as of Feb 2012, and are disconnected static const int MIN_PROTO_VERSION = 209; // old code// earlier versions not supported as of Feb 2015, and are disconnected static const int MIN_PROTO_VERSION = 70013; // updated code//("Generated coins must mature 60 blocks before they can be spent. When you generated this block, it was broadcast to the network to be added to the block chain. If it fails to get into the chain, its state will change to \"not accepted\" and it won't be spendable. This may occasionally happen if another node generates a block within a few seconds of yours.") // old code//("Generated coins must mature 15 blocks before they can be spent. When you generated this block, it was broadcast to the network to be added to the block chain. If it fails to get into the chain, its state will change to \"not accepted\" and it won't be spendable. This may occasionally happen if another node generates a block within a few seconds of yours.") // updated code
Wallet 2.0 & 3.0 will be on a different chain, with 24 hour stake age (60 confirmations). The new updated 4.0 wallet is set to 1 hour stake age with (15 confirmations). It's up to the community if they want to update or stay on the old chain with rouge nodes & forked chains being seen in it. Will keep updating the new wallet if the community wants us too? Enjoy the new wallet, keep the FIRE going. FIRE 4.0 wallet download here:

FIRE 4.0 wallet download here: We're at block 33611 now, so realistically the fork will probably come before 33620. Keep in mind that the block explorers will continue showing the old fork until they update.
Less than 30 mins, then the 4.0 wallet will be released.
|
|
|
2 hours from now, will be the update to the new client (v4.0).
|
|
|
Chain is running smooth. Waiting for the new wallet. New release later tonight, about 12 hours from now. Will post here & Twitter, 2 hours before & then 30 minutes before. All old wallets will not work (2.0 & 3.0), you will need to update to the new clients (v4.0).

|
Excellent work guys!! Can't wait to test out new wallet! Fire it up---LOL.
I think it should be ready tomorrow & will post to twitter again, so no one misses out. My wallet now is starting to have enough inputs open to push the blockchain along as well The blockchain is one of the main reasons we are forking it, there are two chains other than the correct one & that needs to be fixed. Sounds like the new 4.0 wallet will block all old nodes (bad nodes & chains) & everyone will have to be on the 4.0 wallet, if we would have let it sit any longer..

Will there be a Linux version of the new wallet released in the future?
As long as the source is posted, just compile your own. As done with TECH, everything will be on github. I'm in the process of creating a new website for FIRE as well, just something to keep all the info easily accessible for the community & any designs or videos the community might want to create would really help (my artistic graphics designs are not very good). As with TECH, this isn't a ICO/IPO/ITO or any type of development funds were created & its all up to the community where this coin (app) goes (for the most part). Many are resorting to gambling to create funds to use for development, but feel that isn't what this one needs & will find other ways to build with something for anyone (all walks of life). There are many other ways to build something good here, it's not going to just happen overnight & will take much time/effort. Seeing a few ideas of FIRE element & others together might be part of the future for FIRE, but nothing is set in stone.

Hey guys, Testing Crypto and I have been working and testing a new wallet the past few days, and we're just about ready to release it. Here are a few facts we want everyone to know: - The wallet will be a hard fork, designated v4.0. On Friday morning we will look at the blockchain and see where it stands, and at that time we will post an announcement that we are going to upload the wallet at block x, at which time we will turn on our wallets. We feel this is fair as it gives everyone following time to be prepared. We will announce the exact block on which we plan to start the new fork so everyone following has a chance to start minting new POS blocks at the same time as Testing and I.
- The new wallet will reject all connections from previous versions. This will ensure a clean reboot, and that new POS blocks don't get rejected by the network. It also means that old clients will continue to mint blocks and create an incompatible fork. Hopefully enough users will update and the old fork will die off.
- Windows and Mac versions will be available
- The most important change is that we are reducing the maturity level from 24 hours to 1 hour, and reducing the number of confirmations from 60 to 15. This means that coins will be eligible to stake sooner, and will be released from stake sooner, to keep the blockchain moving at a steady rate.
- The in-wallet trading has been removed. There are currently no longer any exchanges anyway, and we don't care about gimmicks, we want functionality.
- We are delaying a new OP for at least one week. We want active community members to help us test this new fork and make sure that it's functional before we try to attract new members. Your assistance and feedback will be crucial!
Thanks everybody! Let's keep stoking this FIRE! If you have any questions about anything, please feel free to post or send a PM. Like cecilbdemented stated "We want active community members to help us test this new fork and make sure that it's functional before we try to attract new members. Your assistance and feedback will be crucial!".

Everybody please keep watching the thread. We're going to fork the coin so coins will mature faster and minted coins will confirm faster so the blockchain will speed up, but we also need help by getting as many staking wallets on the new fork as possible.
OK, once on new chain I will break mine into smaller amounts so chain will move along nicely. Excellent news! I remember exactly I have break my coins into blocks of 20-30 coins in October or November. And then I did not pay attention to coincontrol. And now I have opened my coincontrol and saw that all the blocks again gathered in one pile. How is that possible? We must also check auto block split function. We are testing the new wallet now, will keep you posted & thinking that Friday will be a required update & new ANN thread will be created.

Shit man .. should have kept my fire on diff addresses .. it ALL staked .. now I have none to make new blocks with I'm sure everything will work out, just when the chain picks back up.. Split your coins (smaller tx's), so you have multiple chances to stake & keep the network average speed steady. Should really add some info on that to the OP as well, so people understand the PoS & how to utilize it the best way. Still learning it though, which if I would have listen to biomech's post months ago. Might have had that all covered, started to & was just too caught up in other things.

Whether you are BIG or SMALL in other coins is beside the point Anyway, patience is key. Plenty of volume and price movement to come and a lot of people will regret not buying at these prices. Enjoy the calm before the storm The detailed tutorial of customization on the wallet design, games, books, & many other things could be the key. Had to test it out & being able to create your own design + learning is great to see, here is what I designed with my wallet Didn't really go into detail with all the graphics yet, will later when GAIA is older & wiser though

Can't sync my wallet,
checkwallet { "mismatched spent coins" : 4, "amount in question" : 5234865.95013300 } How to fix it?
http://www.mintcoinofficial.com/category/developer-resources/Step 7 *optional* If you would like to check your wallet for coins that may not be showing up in your wallet, click on “Help”, “Debug Window” and click on the Console tab. Type Checkwallet to check for any coins that may be missing and should say “wallet check passed” : true If it returns “Mismatched Coins” Type Repairwallet and it will fix your balance. // If that doesn't work, try closing your wallet & adding this to your configuration file. rescan=1 MintCoin.conf rescan=1 listen=1 maxconnections=100 server=1 daemon=1 rpcuser=xxxxx rpcpassword=xxxxx rpcport=12789 rpcconnect=127.0.0.1

No, he is not interested in firecoin at the moment.
That's to bad, but didn't really expect them to be interested in a wallet in need of a fix anyway. Maybe if we can get it fixed & working good again, but surely only value as of now is interesting & not value say a year or two from now. Also my wallet is not syncing any longer. Is the chain moving very slow right now?
It will always show not sync'd if the blocks are over 2 hours apart, so if anyone holding FIRE doesn't open to stake & keep the chain moving.. It's not going to move at all, which there's a fix & anyone not watching might lose out later when they check in on FIRE. Let's hope they check on FIRE soon & open their wallet to start the chain moving again. Give it a few more days & then there's no other option than forking to a new wallet. It could be that anyone who had the wallet, kept the wallet.dat & deleted the blockchain folders. Could be the delisting on Bittrex, some only hold on the exchange & not in the wallet? It's currently not able to sync from a new wallet right now, sticks on block 4000 (switch from PoW to PoS didn't update the code for the transition). The wallet should have started with 1.0 anyway (2.0 & 3.0 is an error on the point system), so if the wallet is forked & fixed.. It will be reset back to 1.0.3.1 (or along those lines), just have to wait & see if cecilbdemented can fix it like he did with TECH. There hasn't been a single post or PM from anyone about FIRE lately & no exchanges, so a fix isn't really a priority as of now. Should have something this weekend or beginning of the week though, but all depends on the amount of free time that he has to spend on it. Edit: Sticks @ 4500 after opening on being stuck on 4000. If you reopen it @ 4500, it will start to sync past 4500 & same with 5000. I open the wallet with rescan=1 though, that could be what is helping it sync from a new wallet

Thank you for taking the initiative, please let me know what their reply is & if they would be interested in FIRE. Would be nice to see FIRE go to a good cause & sure it could be very useful in the future, as many apps are. Crypto is starting to show many good things it could be used for, not just one or two things, but many features. I'm sure it's going to take many years to perfect it, which is what we have been seeing over the last few years (last year the most). Sure there's a lot of bad in crypto, but if we let all the bad things stop innovation, we would still be in the stone ages.

~~ Most recent edit made: Saturday, February 28th, 2015 ~~ **New Block Explorer & Faucet filled up with FIRE, thanks GrinZ @ MultiFaucet** ~Fire Coin is an X15 to PoS coin. ~It's in the PoS only stage.
~The original developer (Carson K.) & the second development team (tom14cat14, s3cr3t1, DrSnAzZy, CryptocoinTools) have left FIRE. Thank you for the efforts you made to build FIRE. Also a thanks to Earlz for testing with FIRE, as well as any others forking FIRE to launch other coins. Looks like edn247 also tried to help FIRE with an update, making FIRE PoW & PoS again? The faucet is up & working now, depending on how fast the community depletes it (0.01 FIRE every 12 hours)... There may be more put into FIRE development, so please utilize it to keep the network going If you already have a major % of FIRE, please think about donating & helping those who really need it Multifaucet
