461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zencash: Excellent potential? on: July 19, 2017, 12:07:36 AM
You have to bring something that stands out to the table... what is this doing that Zclassic isn't doing?. Zclassing was born because of the big fuck up in terms of coin distribution, this attempts to do the same? why??

Are their devs better than the other devs on Zclassic?

You need something, only marketing will not cut it. You need something to market.
462  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Warning: Unknown block versions being mined! It's possible unknown rules are in on: July 18, 2017, 11:21:56 PM
I've just got this message when I ran core. Have the miners started to mess with blocks already?

Look under your avatar in the "News" thing in bold (press F5 because it changes with each refresh and you may be seeing something else):

Quote
News: The warning which may be displayed by Bitcoin Core about unknown versions is related to BIP91, and can be safely ignored.

There should be a bigger sign or a sticky in the main section or something. I know I was scared as fuck this morning when I saw this, then I quickly realized it was probably due BIP91.
463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Investing 10000€ in crypto on: July 18, 2017, 05:03:59 PM
I would not go personally all in. Stratis is being praised here and there by about anyone but frankly I have no idea of what it is. My personal advice would be for you to buy at least four different crypto-currencies, if possible not too close from each other. Also, I have the feeling, but that may be just my personal belief and it could not be true, that any major crypto-currency will increase in value in the coming years, so you could go for about anything.

Stratis attempts to do what Ethereum does but in a better way, isolating the stuff in sidechains to avoid clusterfucks like the ICO ETH stuff that clutters the ETH network and causes big disturbance in the speed and fees and also exchanges see themselves forced to avoid all trades. It's also backed by Bitcoin Core's code.

Let's see if they can deliver on their promises, maybe in the long term it has a shoot to defeat ETH.
464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin (LTC) Prediction - 2017 on: July 18, 2017, 04:13:17 PM
Litecoin is up 6%, the other coins have gone up higher against BTC in the recovery. Ethereum is up 24%, Ripple is up 21%, NEM is up 23%...

We'll see how it goes in the long term and by long term I mean the next few months as the HF approaches.
465  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TO BE OR NOT TO BE MILLIONAIRE? on: July 18, 2017, 02:44:51 PM
Hi Traders Smiley

There are over than 800 coins at this moment. The cheapest ones are as low as $0.000002, which means you can have 1 million of a coin at $2 only.
I understand that there are many scam coins..but also there are good startup coins where they are doing great job to reach somewhere higher in the next 12-24 months.
This topic is for all of us to collaborate and list the cheapest coins that worth investing in. Let's scan and filter the coins and list them here. I know that $2 is worth trying in ANY coin, but we'd like to be smarter and invest wisely.
If we filter the good ones (at least the coins that have :website, social media, road map,, etc) that could benefit all of us.. and who knows, your $50 investment today could turn around 6 figures in 2 years Smiley

99.999% of altcoins are a scam out o these 800 coins, so the ones that pump are usually due just luck.

Most of the work is done on the research phase of the coins. You must go through all the nonsense trying to find the good projects, then buy and bagholder and pray to St Satoshi that they get a well deserved pump eventually.
466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Eth dropping now is just like Facebook dropping after IPO on: July 17, 2017, 03:55:43 PM
As thejaytiesto pointed out,ETH is having serious issues when it comes to scaling and all the tokens distributed through the platform will bite them back in the future without a doubt, lets see whether they can come up with a genius plan to counter these issues and if they can sort it out then the price will be back to normal.

I just don't see it happening. From what I've researched, respectable people has pointed out at Casper falling short to deliver, and the sharding method is also pretty flawed. In other words Vitalik is fucked and so are ETH bagholders. I would hold if I was bagholding tho. If a coin can pump due fiat cows injecting money into it then thats ETH. But once you break even then dump it unless you want to risk it for another leg up.

wonder who is respectable in your sense and as if what your respectable person think matters.

Coders who have been in the game for years and involved in bitcoin since the beginning and understand the different mechanics and also game theories involved have critisized sharding and casper. Some Core devs commented on it, Chris from Bitcoin Uncensored did an interview with an ETH dev and exposed some of the bullshit, also people that posted here like monsterer seemed pretty smart, and also iamnotback aka anonymint was skeptic about it ever working out or straight calling it bullshit.

Heres the interview of Chris with this one ETH dev:

468  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Are we over complicating Bitcoin? on: July 17, 2017, 01:21:58 PM
I think the services will make it less complicated. The exchanges has already said that most of them will support both the legacy coins and the

new BIP148 coins, if there are a Coin split. {Well most of them} I think the choice and decision making will be a bit tricky for the users, but once

this has been implemented for a while, things will become more familiar. There is always a bit of a learning curve with new ideas.  Roll Eyes

The current situation is nothing short of a mess, but it's an uncommon situation. And not only you have to deal with potential BIP148 coins, but potential segwit2x coins... this is just nuts. We need to get rid of the current situation and congregate in only one bitcoin or else people are going to get tired and dump. Nobody wants to deal with several tokens.
469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SAFEX 445.14% on: July 17, 2017, 12:07:26 PM
Fack! I missed it, I got millions of safex.
Well i go back to holding Cheesy

This is why I use that cryptofolio.info site daily, got to keep track of all the bags you are holding to not miss the pump. Pumps always come, sooner or later, and you want to be aware of when that happens. I need to get my own excel spreadsheet for this tho, im tired of waiting for coins being added in the cryptofolio site. Blockfolio sucks because they spy on your portfolio. I dont know any other sites.
470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sorry me, but it Very important information about litecoin (LTC) on: July 17, 2017, 11:28:16 AM
The idea of litecoin was to be a safe place to be in the case of insane congestion in the bitcoin network, so judging the price because of the current number of transaction is stupid. You must think 3 steps ahead to be holding the right thing before everyone else. Litecoin seems to be looking good on the technical analysis aspect but we'll see how it performs if bitcoin manages to scale. When bitcoin goes red everything goes red.
471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Eth dropping now is just like Facebook dropping after IPO on: July 16, 2017, 04:29:12 PM
The issue of August 1 is very shocking the world of crypto, maybe the 14th date will return to normal, even bitcoin will hit the 3000 dollar, let alone the ETH that stay in position 2, of course the price will quickly return to the number 0.15
We can't do nothing but hold and see what happens. I used to think Tether was a good idea for times like this , but ever since I saw it lossing parity with the dollar I think it's riskier than just hold it on BTC.
No other altcoin is showing to be solid against BTC, they all go red along with BTC. BTC showing once again that it's king, unfortunately when it goes down there's nowhere to hide unless you want to go to actual fiat.
472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Eth dropping now is just like Facebook dropping after IPO on: July 16, 2017, 03:36:41 PM
Ethereum will surpass $1000 within a year. Eth drop is just like Facebook when it dropped from $40 to $17. 5 years later it is at $150 today

ETH is dropping for 2 reasons:

1) Ethereum has big problems to scale, way bigger than bitcoin. The ICO ETH token thing is crazy and is collapsing the network. The network has shown weakness. Also the PoS hardfork is coming.

2) Bitcoin is crashing because of the hardfork drama, and when Bitcoin crashes, all altcoins crashes, except the typical random one that goes green.
473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SAFEX 445.14% on: July 16, 2017, 02:52:59 PM
I'm scratching my head on this one...nothing is in their forum or twitter about the rise. I'd also like to know since it's one of the only ones with big gains in the past few days.

Looks like another random pump and dump. Fibrecoin was also pumped to insanity. I also remember Bitstar that pumped to %600 and it was pretty much a dead coin, and I was lucky enough to be holding some, so I was able to profit on that one. That is how you profit on these ones. You buy, ideally not buy but get it mining when no one miners or get it on some giveaway or some shit, then you just hold on these shitcoins for years and check your portfolio daily waiting for the pump.
474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / SAFEX 445.14% on: July 15, 2017, 05:49:09 PM
Someone has pumped this bitch hard. Anyone knows what this is? Seems like another of these random coins that are flat for a while, and the least expected day it pumps massively. The 24 hour volume is $36,000 tho, so anyone that got rich from this is going to need more liquidity than that to dump.

475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MaidSafe? on: July 15, 2017, 04:09:38 PM
Someone in this stream of messages is implying they are purposely delaying the release of the software. Do you really think that or are you a FUD'ster? The Maidsafe team is working on a releasing a network that is as close to flawless as possible.  If people can't see that they aren't paying close enough attention or just attempting to create FUD because it's going to harm another project they are heavily invested in.

Also, Maidsafe did release software a couple of months ago, but because someone is threatened by the project someone created a script maliciously filled the test network full of junk data. The reason someone could fill the network full of junk wasn't an error with the network, but because it was a test network without all the intended features implemented.

Yes, it delayed the launch of the network, but it was actually a blessing in disguise because not only did they fix the issue that allowed someone to maliciously fill the network full of data, but also resolved some other minor issues. Filling the network full of data also allowed the team to see how the network functioned if something like this occurred and it worked flawlessly.

A new release has actually been put out and you can read about it here - https://safenetforum.org/t/maidsafe-dev-update-july-13-2017-test-17/14769 People now have a live network to build sites and apps on to showcase what it can do. Someone just today posted a site that's basically a Soundcloud replacement(Soundcloud is also closing doing soon, great timing I'd say).

The project is extremely open and if you have any questions the developers will answer any questions you post on the forum. Good luck and don't miss this one!

No hater here, just waiting for them to deliver. Too many vaporware sellers out there. Im ok with waiting for a solid product, great things take time to deliver, I get that.

Soundcloud closing has been a rumor that has been around for ages and they are still out there. A decentralized soundcloud would be cool, but it got to be free like soundcloud, otherwise no one is going to use it. Also im not sure how easy it's going to be to get the average joe on such an app.
476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I put all my BTC and ETH to XRP (Ripple) on: July 15, 2017, 03:18:45 PM
I put all my BTC and ETH to XRP (Ripple)
- marketcap from 114 billion to 74 billion.

I think my btc and eth getting a huge dump the following weeks.

https://steemit.com/ripple/@boxxl/why-i-m-not-selling-my-ripple-xrp

Fuck ripple. Banker trash. Not even a blockchain. I don't care if it turns to be the safe haven while this shitshow ensues, im not buying single coin from that thing. There's nowhere to go anyway. All the coins are going fucked red. The hardforkers need a bullet to the brain for this.
477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop buying tokens and start buying blockchains. on: July 15, 2017, 12:14:22 PM
I agree moat ICOs are going to fail on the long run but it could be exactly the same for blockchains...
It doesn't matter if it's just a coin or a new infrastructure. What matters is the quality of the product and if people are willing to use it.

Blockchain is not going to go anywhere, particularly the bitcoin blockchain. The rest of the blockchains will most likely all die except a few where they still find profit in mantaining it by mining or by staking it. But most coins are useless memes that will get abandoned and hence their blokchains will die as no one ever mines a single transaction ever again or stakes anything since it will all get sold for bitcoin.
478  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advice needed: Post-split, how might I best manage coins on separate chains? on: July 14, 2017, 06:19:06 PM
Thank you both for your responses. In short, I guess I don't have anything left to do now - except perhaps try the suggestion of downloading and running Bitcoin Core (sorry for overestimating the complexity of that!) and try understand the post on tainting. If Bitcoin Core can automate that process then perhaps it is worthwhile using - at least for a time being.

It is still at least two weeks away anyway so there is time to wait for such a post-fork guide. Thank you in advance for that!

You need to run a full node of every single possible fork to access your coins. Everything else doesn't cut it.
So in short:

Run a Bitcoin Core full node to access the legacy chain coins.
Run a BIP148 full node to access the the 148 chain coins.
Run a segwit2x full node to access the segwit2x chain coins...

etc

This sucks and it's a pain in the ass. You can thank everyone involved in the hardfork for that.
479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop buying tokens and start buying blockchains. on: July 14, 2017, 04:31:09 PM
ICO token offerings really should be worth a few million dollars at most. Start looking at platforms and genuinely new blockchain innovations like Xtrabytes. As time goes by these ICOs will be loss making. ICO eth token sales really are the new shitcoins. 99% will be worthless in a year.

The ICO model is too damaged. Now all coins that are genuine and aren't derivative trash and ETH token garbage are going to get questioned immediately only because it's an ICO unfortunately.

Maybe the Byteball model is best? Im not sure anymore. It seems distributing the coins is one of the biggest changes in the game.
480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TEZOS raised 231 Million on: July 14, 2017, 04:05:04 PM
231 million for what? A whitepaper and a promise of doing something?

As only a wide-eyed child at the time, I'm too young to properly remember the dotcom bubble but can anyone shed some light as to whether this same type of thing was happening then? Were people just throwing money anywhere and everywhere if it sounded good enough?

Yes! It was the same exact thing. People hardly understood internet in 90's, most of it saw it as a slow index/storage of pages, numbers, images ... not many people thought it could be huge. But when first online shops came along and when early tech adopters started using emails for doing business it seemed like the best thing in the universe to those guys. Then companies like Pets.com and Webvan came and said they will utilise this tech and transform classic retail, classic brick and mortar business models and people started throwing money to them on blank promises and ideas - exactly the same trend we see now. Those new companies soon realised transforming habits of people, being so early in the game with too little knowledge and too much money was super hard to do. When they didn't reach positive cash flow and were far from being profitable (back in the day, cash flow was #1 KPI, not like 2017 start ups, when growing user base is much more important in first years), bubble burst.

Related to Tezos: it still seems most of the people don't know how supply and demand works, and they think an uncapped ICO that runs for so long, where everybody who wants to buy in already did, and is based solely on promises and white paper will actually make positive returns when its token will hit the exchanges?? Crazy!

Some of the ICO's turned out insanely profitable. Look at STRAT. But you gotta buy ICOs that aren't insanely overhyped. Bancor showed us the path: Successful ICO: Tons of bagholders and market sell pressure: your token is not going to perform good, unless you are literally creating a bitcoin killer where it clearly solves all problems that we are facing in the current iteration of this technology. But it would need to be a brand new set of technology. It would need a satoshi.

Unless you got this, I think no massive ICO will perform good because the post-ICO environment is an overhyped product with a bunch of bagholders.

That's why ICO investing is good if the product is decent and not a total scam like STRAT which went under the radar.
