Not sure if this has already been mentioned in the thread:
BITMAIN did correct the specifications on Batch 6 to say the following: "5. Chip quantity per unit: 135 x BM1385"
I still find it confusing it says:
2. Power Consumption: 1042 W + 10% (at the wall, with APW3, 93% efficiency, 25C ambient temp)
3. Power Efficiency: 0.25 J/GH + 10% (at the wall, with APW3, 93% efficiency, 25°C ambient temp)
The reason this is confusing to me is because it does not say, "+/-" but only "+"
The BM1385 chip is capable of 32.5 GHS per chip at just 0.216 Watts of power usage per GHS with 0.66V core voltage.
I'm just totally confused at the moment. Can someone chime in to help me understand if it is 1042 watts at the wall @ 600MHz or 1,146.2 watts (+10%) ??

Up to (not saying it IS) 15% less efficient I'd say. And not a single word has been mentioned by them regarding this and they couldn't even put actual efficiency. They just put this "+" stuff to misguide people. What do you expect? Really, Bitmain is the only manufacturer of mining equipment for the "Home" miner. They have the monopoly and can do whatever they please. Their mentality is - If you don't like their policies and practices, well, go find another manufacturer. Till there is real competition, expect this crap. My opinion is .... there is a lot of instability within the chip. That is why there are so many different versions, hashrates and clock speeds. So instead of just tossing the QC failed boards, they have been individually testing each hashboard to grade the board for the different batches therefore mitigating their production losses. This board with less chips, lower hashrate, but with greater power usage, My guess would be this was the original batch 1 that just absolutely failed expectations and resulted a re-design leading to the boards that are in the B1,B2,B3 etc .... They did say they had a very limited number of them. It would make sense considering their past behavior of recycling the QC fails. well said, bitmain can do whatever he wants, but if any of us buy products from them will learn that you have to respect their customers, in fact I'm not buying more hardware bitcoin. 1) I do not like the policy bitmain. 2) the price is too high. 3) the material is too poor. 4) If you pay in bitcoin not least I have to pay shipping. 5) must declare a lower price to save us in duties. 6) 90-day warranty are too few 7) for international users should have a distributor for Europe to pay less tax.  there is a dealer in europe, but the price is 2 times more expensive. 9) fails when a miner shipping charges to the customer, saying state as the price $ 15, cosiloro not pay customs duties. as for me, bitmain is only a thief, greedy for money, and has no respect for its customers. but on what you altronte pretente by a Chinese? |

I know some of you may say shut up.... but lets share some S7 experience here!!! (yes good or bad or may be some secret tweaks you made with S7?!?) Yes, frequency changes, vertically deployed, any customs tools you made for S7, some bug finds, etc (frequency outside of the stock condition will void the warranty) *Any physical modification may voids the warranty. (If you are going to break the warranty seal, please ask permission from info@bitmaintech.com before doing so to avoid the loss of warranty coverage. *this is not an endorsement to authorize overclocking or underclocking or modified use of S7 to retain warranty. Any conditions that are listed in the letter included in your package remain in full force... the policy used by our customers is really painful, the warranty period of 90 days is too painful. if hardware is fully functional it does not need all those frequencies and then not use them because they will void your warranty. the miners who produce are scaresa quality for this date only 90 days warranty. Sieto only attached to money. another thing, if a user pays you in BTC have the right to do it to save as much as possible, both in the shipment, especially the customs fees. what game you're playing? it seems that people are stupid? |

I hope someday jumps off a serious company, which has for its product at least 1 year warranty, that the material they use to build miner will be made of a material good, good customer service, to assist RMA, which steal their customers, so as to wipe off the market bitmain.servizio poor, high prices miner, high shipping prices, poor material, customer service is slow insodisfacente, material guarantee 90 days (too short). in short, I am now aware of the criticisms of many people who lick the ass bitmain, but I do not care that much, this is my thought on bitmain. especially the service charge, if a user pays in bitcoin, bitmain has a duty to save the end user on the shipping and customs charges  |

My apologies for the delay. I've been chatting on tradingview.comI have mine set up in the following order: Slush Kano Antpool I know Kano pool is not the best choice with it being N500 for the occasional drop in if Slush drops. But something is better than nothing. Also, antpool's luck has been terrible as of late. I would have Kano first if more miners would point there rigs over there. But, it's not happening for whatever reason. the fault is ours, which all go swimming on Chinese as antpool, f2pool, just us we give the power to them, everyone should change pool |

Still waiting on my order.
Put in a batch 2 order on the 29th of sept
I got pillaged by them on this.
I had 2 batch ones and they went from 4850 to 4400. So I delayed the batch 2 order.
I spent 2 days fixing the error. Posted a detailed fix on site that helped dozens of miners with the issue.
I asked them to give me back my coupon on the batch 2 as the order was not paid. I wanted to switch to batch three.
They said no they won't issue a new coupon.
But that I could buy the batch 2.
I did. They have not shipped the batch 2 and have shipped dozens of batch 3's out.
To make things worse coins shifted. So I could have had a batch 3 cheaper then I paid the batch 2.
So I lost over .9btc on the price shift and they have yet to ship.
All because I spent the time to fix my gear and post a how to.
For the rest of us. I don't mind the price shift it happens. I do mind they refused to issue a replacement coupon that would have allow me to switch to batch three.
Now to be fair they did give me a review s-5 last year. So I guess its a push.
bitmain thinks only his business, I do not like his politics with clients, if I pay in bitcoin not have to pay shipping, and must declare the price lower customs. |
