I don't think you can use a blank password by accident.

I am starting to think that those threads are just trying to manipulate newbies into gambling investing. Newbies come and read these thread and get motivated, they buy bitcoin, go gambling, lose, and the gambling operators profit.
Anyone expecting to make profit gambling is probably a bit silly.

Why can't I buy this with Bitcoin?

Get a job and then exchange some of your salary for Bitcoins?

Can I use this to buy an Amazon GPU instance? Do I need a credit card to use this, or can I just make an Amazon account?

Why are these people spamming the network?
Everything was fine for around 20 days and again this is happening.
I don't know but I'm getting fed up of it to be honest. How are we ever going to get taken seriously if this continues? I appreciate there was a need for stress testing but surely that's done now. This is just needless trolling. I think fees need to be increased slightly & all transactions with no fee refused, it may stop this then. If you are not stingy with your transaction fees, there is no problem with spam like this.

I saw some research that currently the miners get about 0.5% of their income from transaction fees. Wouldn't be fair to say that when no new bitcoins can be mined any more, the transaction fees would have to increase at least 200 times?
No because Bitcoin will (hopefully) be worth a lot more then.

They all went to go mine ether

the 60%+ of the network is in the hand of china, it may not be a threats right now but it could be in the future, if 51% would be more profitable for them when the supply will be lower and the value of bitcoin will be very high...
I don't think a 51% attack would be profitable.

Why do we need to care about the price of Bitcoin? In the UK we don't have shops that sell things for "$1 of GBP", we have shops that sell things for £0.60.

|
|
You should watch the VICE documentary "Life Inside a Secret Chinese Bitcoin Mine". I think the man they interview says that he sells some BTC to pay for costs, and he holds the rest because he thinks the price is going to rise.
Not all of them are evil

Because we don't want bitcoin to go mainstream until everyone's grandmothers can easily store their bitcoins.... the current solutions are either unsafe or way too nerdy for mass-adoption.
What do you mean? Multibit is secure and easy to use, and there are lots of other clients that are also easy to use.
