461  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon blinking power light message? on: September 27, 2013, 08:12:41 PM
Is there a list of messages for the blinking power light on the Avalon miner?

I have a B1 box, the power light blinks, it's green, the temp on #2 shows up as -1. I suspect the cable came lose when I replaced the PSU on it or when I was trying to put the lid back on it.

Thanks.

Does it mine steady while the blinking is going on?

Yes it mines without stopping so far. I upgraded the PSU from 650 to 860 watts.
I also noticed on this website that had the info for the B1 Avalon that its picture of mining in process shows the temp2 also at -1, so I wonder if what I am seeing is normal?

I have gotten the "-1" reading without it affecting the hashing operation.  As long as it is hashing normally I would not be too concerned at this point.

466  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Redhash by TAV. A new 105 Gh/s ASIC miner. IN STOCK NOW! on: September 27, 2013, 06:38:26 PM
Why run it in an auction format and not just fix a price for sale?   I would think you want these units sold asap.

Question
:  Are you mining with units that will be auctioned currently?

Really?  No, they are not, they are already taking a heavy loss, so no, they are not and should not be mining with these units.

sarcasm is strong with this one.

Yes they are mining with them.

Sorry, just can't help myself.  I usually take the stance of there is no dumb question, and I probably won't be brother if it is a newbie who doesn't know anything.  But this coming from someone who is running a Bitcoin hosting services?  Come on now!

It is a legitimate question actually.   I guess I would expect a fixed price if they were being mined with.  I personally am interested but not in an auction format.

Private independent miners will continue to have a tougher and tougher time.  As you might know I do hosting for ASIC miners and this puts me in contact with tons of miners from different backgrounds.  What I have noticed in the last 3 months is the more and more I am seeing larger and larger single customers coming to us for hosting and there calculations are in agreement that scale and efficiency is their plan to get ROI and expand.

Hosting cost is 95 bucks a month.

We offer hosting for singles at $81.16 per month or as low as $68.98 if you pay 6-month in advance.  PM me for details.
471  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Project - Serious Feedback Request From the Community on: September 26, 2013, 06:08:56 PM
I am not sure now is the time to try and build a new chip.  The prudent thing at this point is to wait til Jan/Feb to see where the difficulty is and if it would be ethical to bring another chip online.   Customers needs to have at least a reasonable expectation to ROI before the hardware becomes marginal or it is really just gambling and speculation on FX rates.

Yes, our site has been under attack all morning. We are taking the site offline for now and will be implementing additional security measures before bringing the site back online.

Thank you for your patience.

Nothing goes up forever.  Question is what play should you execute to take advantage of an unsustainable rise and timing of course.

477  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KNCMiner REfusing refunds on: September 26, 2013, 02:47:20 PM
family member past away and in order to get the inheritance I have to pay a flipping tax in advance.

You can easily sell shares of your rig, create a post in group buy section, get btc in 2 days and sell it.

I've never understood the shares thing so its best I just keep away from doing that. I waited and never cancelled my bfl order and they are hashing away, but if it wasn't for this I would wait.

What does your order consist of and how much did you pay?

8. Delivery Terms

8.1  The Products are delivered EXW (Incoterms 2010) to the delivery address specified by the Purchaser, unless otherwise agreed. The delivery date is provided for information purposes only and shall not be binding on KnCMiner. The Purchaser is not entitled to refuse acceptance of the Products, withdraw, cancel or revoke the order or make claims for compensation due to any delayed delivery.

Bold added by me.

The terms are pretty clear cut in this instance.  Make sure you read the terms carefully.  I would say actual terms take precedent over a posted forum reply.  Why do you want a refund if I might ask?
479  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Netsolus: Hosting service down?! on: September 26, 2013, 06:06:01 AM
Should be moved to another forum..

We don't know the nature of the problem yet.  It could be the hardware itself and not the host.  I am trying to get more info to help them out.  I have experience with many types.
480  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Beware] Netsolus: Pulls my miners to be shipped without my consent! on: September 26, 2013, 06:04:11 AM
This forum is about custom hardware not hosting providers. Sorry for the troubles you're experiencing though.

Post here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0

Hosting Custom Hardware probably fits the bill well with Custom Hardware.  Plus, you are asking me to post in a section that ADVERTISES services.  This isn't an advertisement.  It's a review of performance.  Other owners of Custom Hardware should know what they are getting themselves into, if they decide to host with this company.

PMed you.
